QUERY: The CD of restoration on a partition instead of HD.

I want to use my restore CD for my Toshiba A100, which has 60GB HD. However, 60 GB is too big and we prefer the partitions. A primary partition of 10 GB is enough for Windows XP & Recovery CD content full.

I understand that the Toshiba Recovery CD is an HD picture and will destroy all the partitions. Is it possible to hack/modify so that the HD picture is a partition instead?

If you have a Toshiba Vista recovery DVD then the whole HARD drive will be formatted and it s not possible to restore the operating system on a single partition.
Therefore, you should always backup before using this disc

  • TRYING TO DO THE SYSTEM RESTORE, BUT 'NO PARTITION FOUND

I have a HP Pavilion laptop g6, which works on windows 8.  I tried to do a windows system restore because my computer is having a lot of problems lately and it is less than 1 year.  The fan runs constantly very loudly, computer is hot, there is a process running in the background and flash plugin is constantly crashing on mozilla/I.E. Problems got even worse when I upgraded from Windows 8.1 windows8.

When I went to do the system restore windows through the hp support assistant, it gets stuck and when I tried to do it by putting power by pressing continuously on f11 to get the boot menu, it says that it cannot restore because no partition... Also, I can't do a complete HP reset because when I turn on my computer now since the upgrade to windows 8.1, it seems to ignore the point when I'm supposed to hit esc to the start menu and instantly goes to the start screen.

I looked into this mess partition missing and tried to 'test drive' as suggested in this message, which seems to argue that a partition is missing and gives me know no way to add a.

Help, please! all boards (and please keep in mind while I consider myself rather computer savvy, I'm no geek team so he dumb down a little) would be VERY USEFUL! My computer is too new for this shit.

  • The difficulty to restore my laptop to factory setting.

I came home one day to find that there was a virus on my HP Pavilion Dv7 - 4009tx Enterainment Notebook PC and since I had important things backed up on my external hard drive I have much better just to restore my laptop back to factory settings, I find the best way to get rid of problems like this. (they rarely anyway).

So I turned off my phone and then launch it and press F11, the window with three boxes popped up, I already knew what to do but the ability to set my laptop to factory settings was not in the first box where it should be, thinking that I made a mistake I looked on the internet and it said : this is how you do it. Confused out of my mind as to where the option went I tried the three other options available in the "I need help immediately" box and however the laptop has restored back to factory settings, but not completely, programs and software initially provided with the laptop were no where.

I tired the other method to restore using the Restore Manager, option restore my laptop to factory setting was there to my greatest joy and I clicked it expecting it to be restored, but rather after the restart he come to a window with the restoration of the system and repair the start and a few other options.

I'm really lost to restore my laptop to its factory originally settings as I had done a few times before. Nobody knows what is happening or what I'm doing wrong. My laptop runs only two years soon which means that it is not that old to have this kind of weird problems and I really need my laptop to do my uni work, I need to fix as soon as I can.

    Hello

Virus problem has probably corrupted the partition on the computer. In this case, you will be unable to perform a factory reset of the recovery partition.

You will need to perform a recovery using the HP recovery discs. If you have not created any recovery media after the purchase, you can order online them or directly call the technical assistance for the embedded discs out to you. This operation brings the computer to factory again.

  • Are there 3 partitions in iconia W510 win 8, primary, restoration and mbr partitions?

Are there 3 partitions in iconia W510 win 8, primary, restoration and mbr partitions? I'm freezeups and other defects. I tried recovery and saw what looked like 3 partitions. tried to format the C: drive then tried to reload the dvd.still system's glitches and lost 2 partitions I think. The dvd system to recharge the three partitions, I see only a concert now about 15 of 32 GB HDD?

There should be three partitions, there are questions that may appear if you try to use the reocvery disks without removing all three first. Since you are in the State in which your old system went to format C, just wipe the rest of the partitions off the power and run the DVD for a reboot to the original. It will create the partitoins suitable for you. Once everything is back now you can search here for suggestions about deleting the recovery partition (if you have several gigs in size) in order to free up space, because this partition is not necessary if you have the recovery DVDs.

  • What is the difference between the standard system restore and to advance option IE. Windows and smart only restore to the recovery program? Two of them are my computer to factory settings? Which is better or less annoying?

I use Window XP Home Edition.

    oureasyphamax,
I do not know if I understand your question completely, but let me answer what I think that you have requested.

The Windows System Restore will restore your Windows settings (drivers, registry, etc.) to a previous state (note it does not affect your user data).

Smart restore or a system restore that is started before Windows starts, usually accessible from disk or a boot partition, an OEM recovery option.  It will usually restore your PC to factory without saving the data, depending on the OEM recovery options.  For assistance with this type of option recovery\restore, you will need to check with the manufacturer of PC.

  • Help... How to use the recovery on Pavilion g4 2014tx partition

Hi all... Would like to ask how to use the recovery partition and what is the effect if I used it... ?

    Thank you...

    Hello:

You normally start the PC, and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, you press the F11 key to start the Recovery Manager program.

Then follow the instructions to restore your PC to its state of software "out of the box.

In so doing you re-partition and reformat the hard drive.

All THE data you have on the PC will be lost.

So make sure that you copy the files that you want to keep on a portable hard drive before proceeding.

It is also for if you have created a storage partition. You must copy all the files from that too.

All partitions are erased and redone.

  • 2 available drives on the points of RECOVERY and OS (C) of the system and restore the protection settings

Greetings! I am very confused and need help. Looking for just my restore points.

I am interested in the protection of the system, I clicked on the system protection and under the protection option I

available from 2 discs on protection RECOVERY settings (it looks like folder sign) and OS (c :)) system)

    Protection of RECOVERY: off

OPERATING SYSTEM (C :)) System Protection is enabled. I clicked on configure I activated the setting to restore system and previous version of the files. Maximum use of 2% (10,00 GB), use current 962,89 MB

Now, my question is this, if recovery protection be ON? When I click on configure, check "turn off system protection"

What is the right configuration? Help, please. I hope I'm not confusing you either.

No, do not turn on System Protection for the system recovery disk. Which is locked and should only be used when you need to do a factory restore (that reinstalls the operating system). Just keep the System Restore enabled for the system partition on which your Windows installation exist. Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP

  • During the closure of 2 windows (with several tabs), restore the system does restore properly the tabs in the window of the second. Is this a bug in the new update / all ideas to fix?

I regularly use 2 windows with multiple tabs of each and session restore would work to bring them all back, but after this last updated the second window restores correctly, with the first non-visible tab on top (only in the menu drop-down) and now the button add a tab on the left (instead of right). Add a button to the tab is not really as far as concerns the other than it indicates other problems with the tabs in the 2nd window. No no not the 1st tab visible is frustrating, because I can't move or also easily navigate. Also, the tabs on the top of the 2nd window which are visible is no longer have the 'x' to close visible, except when this tab is selected. I'm assuming that it is a problem with the new version/update, since this is the first time I encountered the problem, and I closed and restored Firefox several times to make sure it was a recurring problem and not a one-time problem. Any ideas on how to fix would be welcome (except maybe cramming my tabs on a window or it suck XD).

Thank you for your help. None of your suggested solutions worked, but having just updated to 10.0.2 seems to have solved the problem.

  • When firefox crashes me gives is no longer the option to restore session so I'm losing all my tabs, it is extremely frustrating!

I don't speak of the option "save and exit". I mean when the mozilla crashes it gives me is no longer the possibility to restore my session, instead appears a page that says new tab, this isn't even the homepage google/mozilla. Is there a way to solve this problem. I have not changed my settings.

The settings were wrong by default with the new version, because I've never made any changes to my personal settings (new version just change session restore I think). But this is how I solved the problem (I have no accidents, but after an auto reboots for updates I had the possibility to restore the tabs again). I will be "BOLD" by the party who has solved the problem:

"For another session of restoration of problems, you may need to make corrections to your Firefox settings:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options
Select the Privacy panel and make sure Firefox will: is set to either Remember history or Use custom settings for history.
If Firefox will: is set to Use custom settings for history then make sure that Permanent Private Browsing mode is not selected.
If Firefox will: is set to Use custom settings for history and Clear history when Firefox closes is selected, then click the Settings button and make sure that Browsing History is not selected.
Click OK to close the Options window"

I think the problem was that I've always had the selected history navigation that does not work as it used to with the new version.

The modem uses a virtual com port. It s not a real port.
I wonder why it usually happens after the installation of the new operating system, you must install drivers Toshiba together in the right order
Installing the chipset utility is important

The modem driver should do the work and you n t need to activate com ports
Please choose the right side of the page of the Toshiba driver modem driver after installing the OS correctly. I think that's the key
