question about apex listener configdir
Hello
I have two questions related to apex.war configdir
Question 1:
My original config dir was like that
java-jar apex.war configdir
August 16, 2013 03:02:43 oracle.dbtools.common.config.cmds.ConfigDir run
INFO: The value of config.dir is/as10g/apex_listener
Now I changed it to this
java-jar apex.war configdir/as10g/apex_listener_ < sid_name >
Before running the above command, I created the directory/as10g/apex_listener_of3dev
This has changed my cconfigdir/as10g/apex_listener_ < sid_name > of/as10g/apex_listener.
Now, I copied the contents of/as10/apex_listener/as10g/apex_listener_ < sid_name > (cp - r/as10/apex_listener / * / as10g/apex_listener_ < sid_name >)
Is this ok to copy files and diretories that way after you rename configdir?
Question 2:
While moving to it, I noticed the following
/ as10g/apex_listener/BDB/AEL-r3BDF6EoLQxA0LXTO0DHxA
> ls
00000000.JDB je.info.0 je.info.0.lck je.lck
There is a directory called bdb and another directory under it and some files.
What is the meaning and the value of that directories and files?
Thank you
Kumar
A1: Yes it's good, you can remove the BDB / folder and its subfolders, see below.
A2: These are temporary storage files used by Berkeley DB engine, listener uses internally. Every time you start the Listener (since 2.0.2) create a new temp folder in the folder of bdb to store it's data transient. Also when commissioning listener will attempt to clean up the existing folders under the bdb, which do not have a file open in.
Before 2.0.1 and earlier all BDB files were stored directly in the folder of bdb. This causes complications when you try to run the listener in a clustered environment. If all nodes share the same configuration file, then only the first node started in the cluster might work, because the BDB needs an exclusive lock for its data files, the first node would get this and then all other nodes failed to obtain the lock and become non-functional.
So if you use listener 2.0.1 or earlier in a clustered environment the notice were to give each node with its own configuration folder to avoid this problem.
Now since the 2.0.2 listening port best practice is the opposite, if you run the listener in a clustered environment and connect all nodes on the same databases, then each node should point to the same configuration file (for example a NFS file share with write access). This gives the advantage of being easier to maintain a consistent configuration on all nodes.

Question about the listener and the process server in dedicated server mode
Hello
The Oracle documentation says that, when a client connection request is received on the server, the receiver creates a process server who will work with the database instance to perform the tasks requested by the user/client process. So far, everything was good.
Now, when the user is on the Oracle himself server, the listener didn't need to run to establish a connection to the database. Therefore, it is possible to stop the Listener and not always connect using sqlplus and a valid username and password.
In the case above, the question is: if the listener does not work, what/who created the process server that communicates with the instance of the database on behalf of the user? In other words, in the normal case, the listener could get the request and create the server process. When the listener does not work what part of the Oracle Gets the requests and creates the server process?
Clarification on how this case is handled are very much appreciated, thank you,

John,
I guess that you have asked the same thing in a different form in another thread. In the case, when the process of the user and the server is to be on the same side, the communication done by using the Protocol bequeth and the user, since it is not not going to use a (@) sign, he would use a default service for connected sys$ users .

Question about the new Yoga 10 HD +.
Hello
A few questions about the new Yoga 10 HD + that I hope you can answer.
I bought the former model, last year. Love the design and long battery life, but a few major questions made me return.
- Somewhere that I've read that it can not read NTFS on USB so I guess that's the same thing with a NTFS formatted microSD card?
- Can it read exFAT formatted microSD cards?
- Anyone who has questions about the audio via bluetooth?
(I know that BT is not exactly High End HiFi but the old 10 Yoga for some obscure reason - most likely a driver problem which nobody cared to fix - rang * very * worst with visibly distortion while both my phone and a Tablet noname cheap I have zero about fidelity - any of my devices bluetooth audio) I tried aptX or not)
So to avoid buying it back it also I really I would like to see if I can get my questions answered before buy you.
While I love the form factor and long term issues above are only two Mayor dealbreakers for me. Bad audio quality = no joy listen to spotify, local etc. MP3s. not of NTFS or exFAT = some great movies.
My old noname android Tablet really could use an upgrade so I'm really curious it may be, or I should watch the competition and will be form factor and battery LIFE.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT:
If it does not support NTFS or exFAT on microSD card have someone at - he tried ext3 or ext4?
I mean with Linux Android root, it should be a no-brainer to support at least when it comes to royalties unlike NTFS or exFAT where it * might * have some trouble with Microsoft.
I used a USB through a USB OTG cable. NTFS or exFAT have been recognized by the Tablet PC. FAT32 is seems to be the preference.

INSPIRION 3543 - question about jack combo
Hi, I have a question about a laptop Inspiron 3543. He installed the combo input jacks, and I need to use the line of input and output audio.
Question 1: Is - it enough for me for this purpose a headphone splitter - 2 jack x ordinary?
Question 2: Is this laptop allows you to adjust the entry on the line in mic?
Sorry for the broken English, but I write with a translator: D
dayer41Question 1: Is - it enough for me for this purpose a headphone splitter - 2 jack x ordinary?Hello. Jack combo on the Inspiron 15 3543 is intended to be used with standard stereo headphones, or with headphones (stereo headset with a built-in mono microphone).
In theory, a dispatcher or an adapter with a plug out of SOCKET (tip, ring, ring, sleeve) can be used with a combo Jack. A plug from SOCKET looks like this:
However, we have received many messages from people saying that the adapter did not work for them. Some people have posted and said that the adapter works for them.
Note that the entry of a combo Jack is mono. There is no way to make it be a stereo input.
dayer41Question 2: Is this laptop allows you to adjust the entry on the line in mic?You can set the input mic in sound properties volume (Control Panel > Sound). Open the properties of the sound, and then click the recording tab at the top. Right click on the Microphone. Click 'properties '. Click the tab at the top levels to find the sliders to adjust the volume of the mic input.
It is similar to this image, except that you must click on 'Levels', not 'listen '.

Questions about discussions...
Hello
I have a new app to do that requires network access.
I have read this EXCELLENT post from peter_strange:
Because I can't use BIS - B because I'm not a partner of the Alliance, I wanted to take a look at the new OS 5.0 network API and see how it works.
I know that network connections should be performed in a separate thread.
I'm far from being an experienced Blackberry developer... so I have a few questions about discussions. I looked around the Internet, read on the forum, read the documentation, did some tests and so far, I came up with this code:
SerializableAttribute public class HTTPConnection extends UiApplication {}
Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
HTTPConnection PAP = new HTTPConnection();
theApp.enterEventDispatcher ();
}public HTTPConnection() {}
pushScreen (new HTTPConnectionScreen());
}
}class HTTPConnectionScreen extends form {}
public HTTPConnectionScreen() {}
setTitle ("HTTPConnection");
Add (new RichTextField ("choose a type of connection :"));final RadioButtonGroup = new RadioButtonGroup() rbGroup;
RadioButtonField radioButtonF1 = new RadioButtonField ("Direct TCP", rbGroup, false);
RadioButtonField radioButtonF2 = new RadioButtonField ("WAP 1.0/1.1", rbGroup, false);
RadioButtonField radioButtonF3 = new RadioButtonField ("WAP 2.0", rbGroup, false);
RadioButtonField radioButtonF4 is new RadioButtonField ("BES/MDS", rbGroup, false);.
RadioButtonField radioButtonF5 = new RadioButtonField ("BIS-B", rbGroup, false);
RadioButtonField radioButtonF6 = new RadioButtonField ("WiFi", rbGroup, false);
Add (radioButtonF1); Add (radioButtonF2); Add (radioButtonF3); Add (radioButtonF4); Add (radioButtonF5); Add (radioButtonF6);
FieldChangeListener listener = new FieldChangeListener() {}
' Public Sub fieldChanged (field field, int context) {}
ConnectionThread ct = new ConnectionThread (rbGroup.getSelectedIndex () + 1);
CT. Start();
}
};
ButtonField buttonField = new ButtonField ("Connect", ButtonField.CONSUME_CLICK);
buttonField.setChangeListener (listener);
Add (buttonField);
}/ * method of onSavePrompt override default to avoid being asked if I want to record every time * /.
protected boolean onSavePrompt() {}
Returns true;
}
}class ConnectionThread extends Thread {}
private int transportType;
public ConnectionThread (int n) {}
transportType = tt;
}
public void run() {}
ConnectionFactory connFact = new ConnectionFactory();
ConnectionDescriptor connDesc = connFact.getConnection ("URL", transportType, null);
If (connDesc! = null) {}
try {}
HttpConnection httpConn = (HttpConnection) connDesc.getConnection ();
httpConn.setRequestMethod (HttpConnection.POST);
httpConn.setRequestProperty ("Content-Type", "application/x-www-formulaires-urlencoded");
OutputStream out = httpConn.openOutputStream ();
out. Write (Integer.ToString (transportType). GetBytes());
int responseCode = httpConn.getResponseCode ();
If (responseCode == HttpConnection.HTTP_OK) {}
UiApplication.getUiApplication () .invokeLater (new Runnable() {}
public void run() {}
Dialog.Alert ("- SUCCESSFUL CONNECTION-");
}
});
}
If (httpConn! = null) httpConn.close ();
} catch (IOException e) {}
System.Err.println ("IOException Caught:" + e.getMessage ());
}
}
}
}In fact, this code works very well... but I want to improve it, and I have a few questions:
1. I think that right now, every time I click on the 'Connect' button, I start a new thread. I would like to end this thread in the "run" method, but I don't really know how to access the variable 'ct' from there. Counsel on how to do it? Or maybe always use the same thread until my application is closed?
2. in the FieldChangeListener of my "Submit" button, I want to access the value of radio box. I did work, but I had to do my 'final' variable What is the right way to do it?
3 - to display a dialog box with 'Successful connection', I just wanted to write something in my main screen. How I do that?
I'm just a bit confused as to just what set up when you use a separate thread.
Thanks for your advice!
Edit: Hidden URL I connect to...
That's what I call a good question! (now I'm wondering why the forums do not work with opera correctly, in any case, here my baldy to the answer format): 1. your thread "dies" when it's over, no need to close it. 2 Yes 3. You can use a reminder. See for example http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/javatips/jw-javatip10.html

A few questions about installing Windows on a Mac
Hello world.
I'm considering installing Windows on my 2006 iMac. I have a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help me with that. I know that this machine will run Windows 7 or 8, in terms of system resources, but probably doesn't have the RAM for 10.
The girl has reached Apple Obsolescence and no longer can be upgraded to newer versions of Mac OS. Unfortunately, this also means that she can not get the latest version of iTunes and don't talk to my phone. But she still my entire library of music.
I know that used at least iTunes is available on Windows, but I seem to remember that they took it. Y at - it an option to put my iTunes music on an iPhone 6 in a Windows environment? I don't mind if I need to convert files or otherwise work for her. I have just a few old out-of-print stuff that I really miss being able to listen to anywhere other than my office.
I'm pretty much stuck with versions before 10, due to the RAM thing. Honestly, I haven't used Windows since around 1998, with the exception of a terminal XP at work, so I don't know much about it. Any recommendation on which version is the best? And I can buy a copy online directly from Microsoft?
If I would be better off buying a new laptop for very cheap, it is also a possibility. But my Mac still works well, despite not being not supported for updates, and I hate wasting perfectly good material. I just don't have the money for another Mac right now.

Hello world
I'm an Oracle Apex developer for 2 years now.
Recently, I was in charge of search and do a few examples of how to print pdf with Oracle Apex 4.2.2 (Oracle 11 g).
I want to use Apex 2.0 listener that standalone as a print server, we installed and we changed the configuration of the print server in the administration workspace. Then I created a report query and when I have the test report, a pdf file is downloaded, but when he opens, Adobe reader tells me that is not a valid pdf file.
Our Apex application runs in the pl/sql gateway mode not Apex listener.
So my squestion is: "" Is it mandatory for application Apex runs in mode listener Apex to use Apex listener 2.0 as a print server?".
Thanks for help.
Best regards
You

Thanks for your reply.
We have an apex application that already runs using EPG and we want to allow printing of the pdf in it. So, we installed the ADR offline, to use as a print server but it does not seem possible if the Apex app uses a different web server than the listener of the Apex. right?
Thank you once again.
You have answered your own question... If you use the EPG, then you can NOT use another product middleware or application server until you turn off the EPG...
Why you use the EPG in production? Oracle does NOT recommend this (see the APEX Oracle installation instructions..)

How do you use ADR/APEX listener? Autonomous/deployed on Java EE server?
Want to host RESTful web services on your instance APEX?
Looking at the error you found, it is because:
During the installation of the ADR, he asked three databases users? : APEX_PUBLIC_USER, APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER.
Whose APEX_PUBLIC_USER is required for the operation of the Applications Oracle APEX. APEX_LISTENER (which corresponds to the configuration of apex_al) and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER (which corresponds to the apex_rt configuration) in ADR are required for the accommodation of RESTful services.
The problem, I think it's that you haven't configured the RESTful services before installing ADR where the APEX_LISTENER and the APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER does not exist and so the configuration of the ADR fails.
It is fine if you do not configure the RESTful services (just want to use Oracle APEX), but when the ADR facility you should ignore configuration APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER accounts.
Moreover, I think that you use EA(Early Adopter) version of ADR version 3.0 of knowing, but I think you should go for the stable version of ADR version 2.0.10 Viz.
The ADR 3.0 configuration is more advanced (complex bit) than the 2.0 because it contains information about 5 database users (i.e., APEX_PUBLIC_USER, APEX_LISTENER, APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER, ORDS_METADATA and ORDS_PUBLIC_USER).
Finally, I think you want the instance Oracle APEX for purposes of personal training, using Gateway (EPG) of embedded PL/SQL would be sufficient now as suggested by fac586 here: Re: getting started with APEX after download
Suggestion: You should post data Services Oracle REMAINS related matters to the appropriate i.e. forum ADR, SODA & JSON in the database.
Reference:

- For ADR 3.0 installation guide
- Installation of Oracle APEX, with EPG guide.

I wanted to try the latest Restful services in apex 4.2, I decided to install 2.0 listener Apex. I downloaded the file and followed the steps in the installation notes. NatarajanHello
I updated the apex listener port 8080 and it does not give this error now.
However, he always says "Database connection by default not configured correctly"
I gave the name of SID as xe, which is the default value and that the correct SID for my DB also.
>SID = xe is correct since you are using 11g XE.
What is more important, is that you may be able to access the Apex Application Builder via the ApexListener or not.
If Apex is not accessible, then the thing to check would be the Apex_Public_user password. Can you connect to XE using Apex_Public_user with the password that you provided when setting up the ApexListener?
Also make sure the Apex_Public_user and 2 other users ApexListener 2.0EA, are UNLOCKED.See you soon,.

Question about the tools Panel...
I have a question about the Panel edge tools animate:
In the future, edge animate will have a rich set of drawing tools? At the moment, so wanted to have a symbol, lets say a 'dog', I would have to draw everything first in Illustrator or Photoshop, and then import it into Edge animate (because EA basically allows me to draw rectangles and circles only). In future versions, will there be tools like 'Pen tool' or 'Gum' and other drawing tools know Flash Professional to create symbols?
Thank you
JH
Hi JH,.
Sorry, but we can't comment specifically about whether or when any functionality in the future versions of edge animate. What we can do, is listen to feedback from our users, and to add feature requests for the EA team who can be considered for future versions of edge animate.
When new releases are published, there is also a list of the new features added... so stay tuned!
Thank you
Joe

Apex listener 1.1.3 - I set up port 8080, but now I want to change
Hi experts.
I have configured the listener of the apex to port 8080 successfully, but now I want to change that, as well as the first question below.
1 - the apex listener can be started via a script?
2. how to change the port 8080 of the auditor of the apex?
I saw this, but I don't ' know if Dapex.home's home foleder apex earpiece or nt.
Java-Dapex.home=/tmp/apex-Dapex.images=/usr/local/apex/images
-Dapex.port = 8585 - Dapex.erase - jar < temp folder > apex.warHi user12055481,
1 - the apex listener can be started via a script?
Of course, if you want to use offline, it's basically the same call that you type when you start it manually. You can use nohup or a similar tool to run it in the background.
2. how to change the port 8080 of the auditor of the apex?
I saw this, but I don't ' know if Dapex.home's home foleder apex earpiece or nt.
Java-Dapex.home=/tmp/apex-Dapex.images=/usr/local/apex/images
-Dapex.port = 8585 - Dapex.erase - jarapex.war You can see the [url http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/appexpress/1.1/docs/AELIG/E21058_01.pdf] APEX listener Installation and developer for documentation Guide full of all possible parameters...
One for the port is (obviously) apex.port . You need not provide the others if you want to just change the port. However, especially when you intend to use it in stand-alone Mode longer and use run script in function, it makes sense to use a home set (instead of your temp users) to store configuration and execution ( apex.home ) data and provide a certain destination for static content ("images") for APEX ( apex.images ) - especially important if you plan to use the APEX earpiece with different instances of APEX with different versions of the APEX. apex. Erase must be handled with care, as you will need to reconfigure the listener of the APEX, every time that you restart it. If you are considering a startup based on the script, you can do this as an option and to be used only when you want the listener to be reconfigured.I hope that answers your questions. If this isn't the case, feel free to ask for more details.

Questions about apex_web_service.make_request and collections
Hello
I began using with Apex Web services, and I have a few questions about the apex_web_service.make_request procedure. You can pass a name of the collection as a parameter. I'm a little confused on this parameter from the collection...
This is perhaps a silly question, but the documentation is not very clear, so... This procedure always inserts just a line in the collection (with the XML returned by the web service call), or are there cases where several lines will be inserted?
If there is still only a single row, what are the practical reasons to use a collection for her? I ask because in most cases interest you about the columns/rows to display in a form or a report in the Apex and I don't see the advantage to store in a collection of single-row, but I may be missing something...
If the response contains several rows of data, it will be automatically extract the lines and insert them into the different lines of the collection? (posts...)
What is the best approach then to extract several rows returned in the XML response and insert them into a collection? Currently I use XMLTABLE in a loop and call apex_collection.add_member for each row returned. is there a better way to do it?
Thank you
LuisLuis,
the webservice returns only one row in the results collection.
XMLTABLE using is a good idea, instead of using a loop, you can also use APEX_COLLECTION. CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY or CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY_B (B for bulk which may mean 'fast').

Apex listener commercial license
Hello
I created applications with Apex and I'm about to install the Apex on a different database.
Maybe I'll choose Apex earpiece but I don't know if there is a commercial license for it: my clients will have to pay to use apex Apex listener-powered application?
Thank you.
FannyIf you use ORACLE HTTP (Apache with modplsql) server, it's free with license database.
If you use the earpiece of the APEX, you need an application server. The application server requires a license.
For APEX, it is licensed with the database for all versions, a Standard, Standard, Enterprise, Express.
HTH
Francis.

Questions about close cache events and the defeat strategy "ALL".
I use near cache, and try to determine what defeat strategy would be better for me. My cards before being highly volatile, I'm considering strongly using the strategy of "EVERYTHING" for at least some of my caches.
This brings me some questions about the event cache stream closely when the strategy using ALL:
(1) should I expect an event to be published from the back cover when an element is added? (i.e. putAll() called cache before)
(2) should I expect an event to be published from the back cover when an item is deleted? (i.e. remove() called cache before)
(3) should I expect an event to be published from the back cover when an element is expelled from the rear because of size constraints?
(4) should I expect an event to appear from the back cover when an element is expelled from the rear due to the expiry?Hi Tom,
near cache before cards do not store the entries inserted in the back cover, so if you have saved a listener on the front plane, you will get the notification to the listener on the plan before all the inserts in the back cover of other nodes.
It's a little different for entries that have been asked by the local node through the near cache (not directly on the distributed back cache). If the cache almost didn't get call so far, then they will not go into the front plane, so it's the same as if inserted directly into the back cover. It is the starting of the near cache behavior. After the first EEG puts will be cached in the front plane. Once that puts is cached in the front plane, then the listener before card will see put through the cache close to the same node, but not of other nodes.
Also, the cache near registers a listener lite, so it becomes not the input values changed, as the keys.
A listener that you entered on the back cover will see each insertion, if you do not save a MapEventFilter or a MapEventTransformer custom with the listener. A MapEventFilter can filter inserts away (I think, the cache similar to that, too).
Best regards
Robert
