• A Question about VM traffic through a virtual switch

  I have a question please. I though I read somewhere that if you have 2 virtual machines on the same host ESXi and they are on the same VLAN, when these virtual machines want to talk to each other that they don't let the ESXi host through physical network cards.

  Now, I read in the documentation which is only correct if the virtual network, they are on doesn't have an attached physical network adapter. In other words, you create a group of uplink / Port without an attached physical network adapter.

  So, since I'm using a distributed switch and say I have a Port named Phoung(VLAN 2) group that has an attached physical network adapter. Now I have 2 virtual machines on the same host ESXi on this VLAN and when they talk to each other the traffic will remain in the ESXi host, or will still be out of the physical network to the network card and come back.

  Read various documents on this subject has me a little confused. Thank you very much.

  Where did you read that the traffic will leave the virtual switch?

  If I have something miss me the traffic leaves the host if either the virtual machine is on different subnets (i.e. need to delivery), or if they are on different virtual switches.

• Traffic Shaping to cap bandwidth

  Hi all, I have a question about the port groups and traffic shaping.

  Say I have a 10 GB uplink on my for use by VMs esx server and the server will host computers 10 virtual. I want to limit the bandwidth of each VM usage to 1 GB. If I understand correctly the VMware networking concepts to do this I create a vSwitch and assign the 10 GB uplink. Can I create a group of ports and set the average maximum burst setting to 1 GB.  As I deploy each VM I would attribute the Group of ports on the virtual network adapter in the virtual machine.  Each VM would then receive the 1 GB traffic shaping parameters.  Is this fair?

  I was a little unsure as to if just ports group provides the parameters for each card virtual network of port assigned to the port group or if the Group of port traffic shaping parameter represents the total amount of bandwidth available for virtual computers assigned to the port group.

  If just ports group provides the parameters for each port of the virtual network card then each VM would be capped at 1 GB.  Otherwise, I guess that if the Group of port traffic shaping parameter represented the total available bandwidth in assinged of VMs for the Group of ports, I would need to create a group of ports for each VM I wanted to cap at 1 GB. 10 mV and 10 port groups to 1 GB each... that doesn't seem fair.

  Someone at - it glimpse of this?

  Port groups provide cap to each virtual NETWORK adapter - so each bound traffic VMs will be capped at 1 GB - but don't forget if you add another group of this virtual switch ports, that these virtual machines network traffic will not be bound by the settings applied to this port group.

  Help me please with these fundamental questions about the role of the access (AC) wireless controller.

  Assume that the access controller and Access Point are connected via IP:

  -Wireless frames sent to AP to acre; include the original MAC header (on the way to wireless access)?  If Yes, is there a Cisco AC gets to fill the WLAN and LAN it is plugged (which means that it outputs as ethernet frames as if they were issued by Mobile Stations).

  The AP creates a tunnel to the controller. All IP traffic from the AP to the controller will address the AP source and dest IP to the interface of the Manager of the AP on the controller. The wireless client traffic is encapsulated inside this tunnel. When it hits the controller the CAPWAP is removed leaving the customer's original package to be sent to the local network through the controller.

  The controller should not be the default gateway for wireless clients because it is not a router. Think of it as a device that converted into wired wireless traffic.

  Normally, the controller acts as a proxy DHCP. Once the customer has joined a WLAN, the controller sends the DHCP packets to the DHCP server on behalf of clients such as the IP address of assistance normally configured on the router for cable customers. You can also configure the controller to act as a DHCP server for wireless clients.

Until I loaded the office that I was invited to perform the update from apple in the windows software 7. Note before I installed norton, I load boot camp mac utilities according to the instructions. So, followed by all as should be. The prompt update from apple was quick time, iTunes and airport, I checked all and then updated. Then I loaded office 2010 and obtained throughout the process from the Microsoft site. On the last part of the installation, the installation failed due to a mistake of hanging iTunes. I tried again and again, I fixed the update to iTunes to add and remove the section of windows. Then, I got different errors. I decided to remove the whole score without uninstalling all programs again. When I get to the windows live, that this falls priming. I get various error messages whenever I try to start the process. As a header of Bank pool, fatal error and so on. Can anyone help? What is the damage?

  I just ordered a HP 50 g graphic calculator! I have a few questions about this so hang on tight! What is the USB connector on the calculator? Mini-USB, micro USB, or is it a connector owner, "custom". Then, it would be possible to connect a keyboard to the HP 50 g by using the USB Port? Is there a program that would make this possible? (I doubt it would work if you plug it..) I have a Mini-USB to female USB 2.0 connector. So I could just plug the keyboard right, provided that the port on the calculator is a Mini-USB Port. If this is not so that I could use my female to female USB adaptor to connect the keyboard.

  For new models of laptops the RAM upgrade described in s operating manuals. It is public act and it shows the owner of the notebook how do RAM upgrade only.

  If Toshiba offers something like this he won't have the negative influence of valid warranty.
  Buy a compatible module and RAM upgrade.

  What models Sat L70 and S70 do you mean exactly? There are different L70-xxx-xxx and S70 models on the market that supports different hardware specifications.

  I don t think that SATA III is supported. I guess it would be SATA II

  Not easy to answer because there are too many models released in Europea.
  And not all models are available in each country. So I guess you will have to look for the models that have been released in your country.

• Satellite L650-11R - a few questions about this

  Hello there :-)

  I have a few questions about my new L650.

  I've never had Toshiba notebook before so I apologize if some of these "quirks" are actually quite normal on this laptop. I really want to hear the views of other users L650.

  1)
  First of all, by the time I turned it on I saw gradient thin (1-2 mm) along the right edge of the screen that goes from the bottom up. Maybe "degraded" isn't the right word, but it seems that since two or three pixels are kind of discoloration or lose brightness/sharpness to the edge along the straight bezel. It is not really that visible, looks like the colors are desaturated a bit here or brightness is a bit lacking. He can be seen everywhere (bios or no color in Windows, but better in the lighter background).
  The left side (or other) seems ok, all this along the right edge is somewhat suspicious. If one can compare? I don't know if it's something to worry about or is just supposed to be like that.

  2)
  The other thing I noticed heating of the processor (Intel i3 330M) and GPU (ATi Mobility Radeon 5650). It's pretty hot here right now (I would say that the temperature is around 28 degrees Celsius when using cell phones). He is sitting on the hard surface (table) and nothing is blocking the vents.
  However, at "rest" (surf the web & regular light stuff), average CPU temp hovers around 58 ° C. It usually goes from 45 to 62 in just a few minutes after starting, and then I can hear and see (Toshiba PC Health Monitor) evacuate the kicks in. Temp goes back to 50 +, event stops and then the temp rises to 60 + until the vent is used again.
  During load full (Prime95 or some games), CPU is going all the way up to 75 degrees (the highest being 77). Fan runs at 75 to 77% during this time, never go faster.

  GPU idling is usually around 5 degrees above temp CPU (62-65). During full load (for example. Benchmark of Far Cry 2), I see a lot of stuttering with the latest drivers Catalyst and DX10 (not sure if the stuttering has something to do with heat), otherwise it is ok (no artifacts or anything like that). Temp of GPU during the loading goes up to 74-75, fan speed is locked at 30%, the frequency of the heart 5650 is 450 MHz. left side of the laptop (vent and below) is pretty hot, while the keyboard is warm (or slightly warmer who who).

  These time seems correct and safe in the long term? I'd rather events works all the time (they aren't really very strong) and keeping time less than 50, but there are just wishful pious bios control events and I can't control not the bios. :-)

  Official specifications of Toshiba L650 say ATi 5650 (between other low range GPU), but I saw a few specifications calling for there 5730 (same model 11R). Is there really a Satellite L650 with ATi 5730 GPU models?
