  Question about video driver. Version 14.25... Works (tells... 945 GM chipset); 14.27--works but with ocassional problems (tells... 945GM/GU); version 14,29... (said 945GM/GU) - does not work at all - black screen, but you can hear sounds which tells that XP does all right.

  Why that? And what is GU? Pilot info says it is for 945GM, pilot says he's for 945GM/GU.

  As much as I know Satellite P100-257 supports the graphics card Mobile Intel 945GM. The code name of Intel's GM Calistoga
  This is not the same thing as the chipset Intel 945GM/GU. Both are different and so the graphics drivers are not totally compatible!

  The Intel page provides some interesting info on these chipsets:

  Unfortunately, I have not found anything on the 945GM/GU.

  Just look at the STICKER on the BOTTOM of your machine. On this vignette is the type of model number, your configuration and serial number.

  My current display drivers are the 7.14.10.1147 of the 945GM Express chipset Intel. The new drivers that have been added to the drivers on the Toshiba site list 17 and are the 7.14.10.1227. Unfortunately, they install! I get a message just after the initialization of configuration that these drivers are not the most appropriate for this laptop and it closed facility.   Before you start installing the new driver remove the old. You can do this in the properties of the device in Device Manager.

  I did it with my Vista preinstalled Satellite A200 (also with the Intel graphics card).

  I'm new to the Tuner of TV analog digital hybrid and I'm sorry if my questions seem as stupid.

  I have two questions about the of digital TV Tuner analog integrated hybrid in the Notebook Toshiba Satellite A500/040. My understanding is that the TV tuner hybrid integrated able to decode TV signals high definition and their display on TV via its HDMI port. I wonder if I could watch TV shows on your laptop without connecting to a TV. If so, is the software needed? There are several USB TV tuners for desktops and laptops on the market, A500 hybrid TV tuner works differently these USB TV tuners?

  It s a digital tuner that provides digital video signal 576i and not 1080i.

  The series of Satellite A200 PSAFCL is certainly not a European model, and therefore, you will not find any drivers or updates to the BIOS of Toshiba Europe page.

  It looks like a device designed for the Asian market.

  Why you want to update your drivers? Do you expect a gain of performance with newer drivers?

  Way General, with official Toshiba drivers you are on the safe side because they are pre-tested. If you can make sure that they work properly and don t cause property damage. Install the other drivers happens on your own risk!

  The laptop is equipped with modules of DDR3 1066 MHz and the RAM speed is dependent on the FSB of the processor. If your CPU is throttling down, RAM modules will work also on low speed. On a high utilization of the processor (100%) the RAM modules must run with speed of 1066 MHz I think.

  Shouldn´t you use the original Nvidia drivers since they are not changed for mobile platforms. If you install drivers from there, your computer will run much hotter then now and it won´t work correctly because the programming of schedules for the GPU and RAM are not correct.

  I really don't understand why there are two of them, but in my opinion, you must install the driver with the number of listed versions. I can't imagine that you need to install both of them.

  I have an A200 - 28 p with an ATI HD2600 card in it and the July 08 version of the driver 8.452 on it,
  Now, I sent ATI and asked if there was anyway that they could provide Toshiba with the driver which corrects a known issue in the Sims 2 game where cards ATI 2.3 Series 4000 suffer a black screen on TV and the PC doesn't have an image.

  And they essentially told me that they cannot offer me a updated driver and there are ways to get the latest drivers but that belong to my laptop maunfacturer asking for the latest drivers as people with desktop computers with one of the affected cards have all had a driver update to solve the problem and the creators of the game provided a fix in one set updated for one of the expansion packs that I don't own.

  So unless I may leave an exemplary program called Securom on my laptop I can not get my number black screen fixed am used now but when feel well enough to play on desktop is fun to see TV programs and pictures of PC seems unfair to my laptop can not have a more recent updated driver with a fix in there.

  Anyone know who I need to contact Toshiba to see if ask ATI for a driver with a fix in for this problem known?

  The display driver for desktop PC s don t have protection against overheating and if the graphics chip can be damaged.
  So I think that this solution of good isn t.

  About the main problem perhaps there is an upgrade or patch for the Sims 2 available which solve this problem.
  I search with Google for a stamp. :)

  This is a good question, I guess that the graphics driver of Toshiba laptop are not the same as the original Web sites of manufacturers of graphics card driver.
  The Toshiba graphics drivers are modified and specially designed for the use of the laptop.
  The drivers of the most original of Intel, nVidia, ATI site are created for desktop PC graphics cards.

  However, you can try to install the driver of the Intel page but only at your own risk as a 3rd party driver is not certified for the use of the laptop.

  You can download the driver, unzip and install the graphics driver through the Device Manager.
  Here you can choose the graphics card could reinstall it by using the advanced procedure. You could point to where the driver files have been unzipped and could be updated.
