Question about docking station is impermeable to water

There is an important question: If during the Xperia Z2 charge in the docking station (with closed cards) I accidentally pour water on it, what consequences will have?

The point is that electricity and water do not mix. Get the wet handset while on the accusation is dangerous, the water could affect the direct and the sudden exit at least a fuse... worst casting, fire, or electric shock. It's just a big no!

  • Question HP docking station: how to change search provider

    Hello

I just got my first computer HP after being a Dell customer for 10 years. Its also my first Windows 7 PC.

On the HP docking station, how can I change the search engine? I see that it is default to Bing. I can't see how to change to one of 2 choices; Support of Bing and HP. HW I add Google or any other provider?

I've changed on IE on the top right of the browser, but I see no way to change/configure the search provider in the HP dock.

    Thank you

  • Question about batteries for laptops and a station (HP Elitebook 840)

    Hello

I have a question for plagging the laptop to the docking station and battery, basically my main concern is not to connect to the laptop to run a/c, while it is fully charged and I'm always load only up to 100% and then when it reaches the minmum load then I connect it comes back to a/c, so my question here

So do you think that that plug the laptop into the docking station will not decrease the duration of battery life because it will always be in charge mode?

    Thank you.

After this announcement, I made a simple google image search with different keywords before 'docking and battery' and I found the following thread that answers my question

  • Tecra M11 - 17V - identify the serial port on the docking station

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra M11 - 17V, which I often use with the docking station that accompanies it.
There is a DB9 serial port at the back of the docking station, but I don't know what COM Port.

    I use Windows 7.

In the device, COM9 Manager - COM22 are identified as Port BT (bluetooth). Com7 - COM8 are RIM Virtual Serial Port v2, COM17 is Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port and COM18 is USB-Serial CH340.

I thought that COM17 or COM18 were the most likely candidates, but have not been able to get to answer using one of them.

I connect a Psion 5 (Comms app) to him and have developed ports and the Psion 8bits, 19200 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit.

    Hello

    > There is a serial port DB9 on the back of the docking station, but I don't know what COM Port, it is

I think you have misunderstood something wrong
COM ports in Device Manager are virtual com ports
There is no link between a serial port and a virtual com port.

I have a question: what docking station you have exactly?

I had an express port replicator and this device required an additional serial port driver installation.

  • Booklet: Question about DVD docking station

    IM new to computers
The booklet and the dvd docking station
When transporting the computer you will need to carry the docking station, if you are using DVDs.
The computer keeps the cradle in place while on the move as an all in one device?
    Thank you

    Hello

Yes the Docker and laptop are 2 separate elements which can be locked together and remain together until you unlock them. They can be transported as a single unit or 2 separate. Its a very good design as it all works as a single unit with the battery powering the two units. You need to distribute the docking station, if you want to use the DVD player but its not that heavy and much smaller than some portable DVD players

  • Two questions about HD Dock.

1 - I want to know what is the left button on the remote for? OK, I just see an answer to this Q in another post.

2 - can I put the phone on the dock all night or it will ruin my battery? (I know that its supposed to work like an alarm clock).

    That's all.

    Thanks in advance.

There are several schools of thought, but everything that I've read, the only damage to the battery is if leave you it plugged 24 hours a day every day. Li - ion batteries are meant to be used.

Most laptop manufacturers have extended information about the use of the battery and the worst thing you can do is to never take a lapotp of the charger. Your phone must be able to flow down 25, 50, 75%. I run my verse down to what it stops every two months - it recalibrates the phone to the battery capacity.

I charge my phone at night many nights - so similar to the docking station and all my phones have lasted 2 years with great autonomy.

  • What docking station / Port Replicator is compatible for the Satellite P70-A-104

    Hello

does anyone know what model port replicator (name of Toshiba for docking station?) adapts to Toshiba P-70-A-104?

    Your
    Stephan.

    Hello

As far as I know that this Satellite has port replicator, so you can use an external device, such as Toshiba Dynadock (universal docking station).
More info about Dynadock you can find on the pages of Toshiba. As a small preview check please

  • Graphic PCI - e to the advanced docking station is not a value of the loss of the button disconnect!

    Greetings,

After using the ATI Radeon X 1300 in the docking station advanced with my W500 (4061-38U) for more than a year, I'm in a clear position to conclude, it is not worth. Here are the reasons why you should not have this configuration:

-the complete loss of a KEY using a Docking Station features: the ability to quickly dock/undock the system without rebooting.

-l' use of the PCI - e 1 X is performance of garbage.

-native resolution of 1900 x 1200 of the 4061-38U, which is very frustrating to read. If this screen ends up not used at all.

-the ability to connect 2 displays: 1 DVI using, the other using VGA with loss of quality very little according to the screen, cable and the resolution.

-the docking station operating in the high fan noise (even though I had it worked)

-Finally the dock become unstable due to electricity and heat problems

-the size of the time, thinking about how to continue to be stubborn and approaching different configurations to improve performance in you question:

-> Lenovo USB DVI box, (slow performance, bandwidth USB. CPU consumption)

-> Other products USB DVI (same questions)

-> Double/triple Matrox display (likely to be slow performance, not part is no PCMCIA card for Laptop Docking procedure, do not know if it requires a restart, too expensive to my point of view)

-Finally and not least important, the size of the space: it is possible to operate the laptop closed cover and care so one of the LCD on the dock, table mounted VESA.

So, yesterday, I got back to this configuration more simple but more effective: W500 + advanced dock + 1 Viewsonic 22 '' LCD in landscape + Viewsonic 22 "LCD 1 running in portrait mode + disk backup in the dock UltraBay + external USB mouse and keyboard.

    Hi ppl

After more than a year and I still maintain the same configuration: mentioned in this topic. He plays very well, graphics wise.

Overall, the W500 is a great laptop. It's been updated with a 256GB SSD Samsung 830 and nothing more.

    4GB 32bitW7

All the best for you people

After connecting NB HP Probook 6550 b, docking in NB display turns off. Once removed from the NB docking station only the LED turns on, but nothing more. I have to reset the bios (take-off of the battery on the motherboard about 2 hours) and then the NB working again.

  • Extremely frustrating mouse double click when you use the docking station?

I have a mobile workstation 15 zbook and love it.  I have a docking station at work and even from one station to the House.

When I plug the docking to the mouse House will be double-click whenever I have one click.  Simple click, I have to quickly move out of the object or it clicks double in each time.   I tried a new mouse, to reduce the speed of double click and is NOT the case on my docking station at work or when the laptop computer use with the mouse connected locally.

It of extremely frustrating and makes working at home a pain rather than productive.

You ask if anyone has seen elsewhere, or have any suggestions?

    Hello @romatlo,

I read your post about how how your laptop will be double-click everything you click once when it is attached to your docking station, and I would be happy to guide you to a resolution!

I'm sorry, but to get your question more exposure, I suggest posting in the trade forums, since it is a commercial product. You can do it:

  • Map chart AMD 14 ZBook and docking station

I have problems with a ZBook (AMD grahics version) 14 and an ultraslim docking station. HP two monitors are connected to the docking station with display ports.

I can say that I have the latest BIOS, drivers and firmwares installed. I am running windows 7 64.

When the graphics chip from AMD over-pants is used, the laptop hangs when it is inserted into the dock. No question arises when only Intel graphics are active.

Everyone knows about similar problems? Any suggestions on how to installation graph?

    Kind regards

    Andreas

The computer seems to be OK now. I installed new AMD drivers are available (14.301 Rev.W (March 18, 2015)).

No problem with the docking station.

    No problems with AutoCAD.

  • Docking station for Dell Precision 7510

I have Dell communities very recently joined after I buy the laptop Dell Precision 7510. It's a great product so far, but I want something better. I want more ports. A cradle to go with it is the obvious solution.

What is the best laptop computer Dell Precision 7510-compatible docking station? My specific needs/setup:

-2 external screens (D - sub / HDMI, or for £50 in addition, connection I get display-port), screens may be more in the future

    -internet cable high speed

    headphone/microphone

-Sockets USB for mouse, keyboard, printer, scanner, external hard drives, etc.

I presume that the Advanced E-port replicator is the best/most appropriate. I just want to be sure of that, because my laptop model (7510 precision) is still very new and not all information everywhere put on compatibility. I don't want to make a costly mistake. I travel and will not be able to "return" the products I buy.

Yes. I contacted Dell sales... service and they told me that the Dell E-Port Plus II is compatible with my 7510 accuracy. After written confirmation, I advanced and bought a British supplier on Amazon for £100... but he came in a suspicious package and did not work well, and the adapter was the size of a brick (literally). I went back to Amazon... and tried my luck with Amazon Germany. You can get the original product on their part for about 140 euros, and it works perfectly. The link to the product:

    http://www.Amazon.co.UK/GP/product/B00A8ESOVA?PSC=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00

(it's actually UK, now that I check it... it's that I bought and it's good)

Basically, Dell has not updated its compatibility information yet. The docking station is listed in the check-out for precision 7510, but does not say specifically that it is compatible with this model. I had similar problems elsewhere too, as I want to install LoJack on my laptop, but can not find information about the question to know if my laptop model is supported by what is called the 'persistence technology' in the BIOS (which makes it impossible to uninstall LoJack even if you change hard drives).

  • MacBook Air for Docking Station connection problem

I am trying to connect a MacBook Air to another monitor via a Kensington docking station, but they do not communicate. The additional monitor is sent immediately to sleep. If I connect Air to the monitor directly everything works fine, but I want to simplify my life with the docking station. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I understood the question. It seems that the original DisplayLink software I was using was not correct. After connecting with Kensington, they gave me info on a new beta driver and it works fine.
