  When you import, you can select specific import folders, it is on the left side of the dialog box to import to the title of the Source. If you don't want all the 30 000 images, you can first start by selecting file-> new catalog, and then import specific folders.

  It is one of the strengths of Lightroom, there are approximately 12 zillion and 35 different ways to search. For example, you can enable the filter bar (view-> display filter bar), and then select the photos by file name or by keyword and many other criteria.

• Question about importing video footage in Premiere Pro

  I'm new to Premiere Pro and have a question about it. I need to move all my videos on my new computer (Windows) from my old computer (iMac running iMovie). Where should I store my images so I can access inside Premiere Pro? I just need to store everything on a hard drive, and then create inside Premiere Pro projects when I need to import images in, or should I create a 'library' to store all my movies in? Setup bridge would be another beneficial way to view my videos (I use Lightroom for my photo library)? I'm just trying to discern the way I need to store and organize everything in order to get started with Premiere Pro. Thank you!

  Premiere Pro has no capability of database for the media in general, only in a specific project. 'Import' is not like in Lightroom, it does in PrPro is tell her where to look for the media while working on this specific project.

  So... you need create your materials on a particular disc, presented in a way that you can find them in a folder structure you design.

  A typical use of PrPro spreads parts on several disks. OS/programs on the system drive, a disk each cache PrPro & cache of database files; preview files; and project files. Media probably on another drive and exports on a final drive.

  Access the disk cache & cache database files, preview files and project files are the two ways of reading & writing, in addition to being constant. Multimedia files are used unalterable and exports only Scripture, their connections can be a little less robust.

  I have a few questions about this, and I would really appreciate your input gtting. (I also posted this question on this page, but I don't know if it was the right place...)

  1. that means 'otherwise, Lightroom treats the JPEG in doubles as a file? The JPEG format is not available at all in these circumstances? What can I do with this file "jpeg"? Is located in the same folder as the RAW images?

  2. my understanding is that the JPEG image contains the treatment unit (e.g., Vivid, sharpning, etc.); When I import pictures from my Nikon (NEF) raw, LR does not apply to these parameters, and the image I see in LR is * really * gross (i.e., bland and "free upgrades").  If I shoot and bring in JPEG and RAW, LR is it possible to have LR somehow automatically "make RAW image look like the JPEG?

  (1) No, it simply as an initial overview.  LR replaces this overview as soon as it renderes its own.

  (2) the profiles are already built for Nikon and Canon.  Look in the calibration Panel in the develop module.

• I am running LR3 on Win 7 x 64. I have a few questions.

  1. I have a hard drive that is assigned to the drive letter "B:\. "Why the import file does not see this disc in the list of drives? I use "other readers" and to travel whenever I want add files to this disk. Other readers, including network drives are very good.
  2. When you import from a main folder and including subfolders, is there a way to filter the files in any way? Never, I want to import web galleries that I made in bridge, for example. These files have very small files JPG, thumbnails and web images. Is it possible to exclude consideration of form, while importers? Is there a way to reveal and display thumbnails with the folder structure? I don't want to have to go to each folder individually when I try to import all the useful images from an entire drive. If LR would show at least the structure of folders to subfolders when you select photos in a top-level folder, that would help. How can I do this?
  3. In the library folders view, how to filter on all the files in one disc? I can select a folder in the disc and see this whole file, but LR does not allow me to select the entire disk. Is there a way to do this?

You can uncheck the checkmarks next to folders in the Destination Panel on the right side of the import dialog box.

You cannot select the disk, but you can select "All photos" at the top of the left panel. You can also shift-click all the top-level folders under a volume to select them all.

4. How can I view the entire folder structure in the laibrary Panel? Some files do not display their top-level folders that they are inside. How to reveal this information?

Right click on the folder that is currently higher level in your folder pane and select 'Add parents' until you are satisfied with the hierarchy. When you reach the parent level you want, you can click the folder parent for select you all files of a certain drive, as you asked the question #3.

• question about the file ppcrlui in the temp folder

  I had two files that were recently uploaded on c:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\. My AV software informed me that the files were safe.

  Can someone tell me what they are? Are they really safe? I am never notified of them being downloaded before that.

  These files are part of the library of interface user customer passport (ppcrlui.dll) and there is no need to worry about this file, they are just temporary files from the Windows ppcrlui.dll file which is part of Microsoft CoReXT.

• Question about importing the roles of users through LCM HSS 11.1.2.1 MSAD

  We use Hyperion Planning version 11.1.2.1. I tried to export user and group provisioning to prod environment and migrate there in the dev environment.

  The following steps have been

  1 open Hyperion Shared Services Console

  2 expanded Application groups

  3. scope of the Foundation

  4. click on Shared Services. I got a list of artifact on a new tab on the right side of the screen

  5 expanded native Directory. Some groups (Checked), roles and users

  6 click on define Migration and then did then, then, then on the following screens until I got a popup asking to "run the Migration.

  7 enforce Migration, I received a folder created under admin@NativeDirectory with 2 subfolders (info and resources)

  I saw 3 csv files is created - Groups.csv, Roles.csv and Users.csv.

  Groups.csv contains all the groups and users in each group.

  Users.csv contains all the users belonging to the Native directory

  Roles.csv was surprisingly an empty file (don't know why)

  My question is

  1. how to export that 'Aboriginal group' has been implemented to what roles?

  2. how to export what Directory user external user (i.e. MSAD) has been put into service for what role?

  I need to import roles provided to the 'MSAD users' and 'Indigenous' of Prod to Dev env env. Since I'm not able to export to MSAD user roles and groups... I don't know how to do in this regard. Please help me with this. Thanks in advance.

  In the "Import" window under files it lists only a copy "Record XXX" or files left in place.

  The "XXX" is the first library I created when I started using FCX. Why he does not list other libraries?

  Hi, I managed to record some videos (coming from a VCR) with media Center. I would like to handle videos with software and then burn it to a DVD.

  My problem is that I need to be able to view the video with Windows Media Player - is it possible to import the recording of "my videos"?

  Lets say your file called called aaa.as. Create a Flex project in Flash Builder. On the last page of the wizard, replace the record suggested as "test.mxml" with the text "aaa.as". Click Finish.

  When the project opens the sheet and drop your real aaa.as in the place of one in the Project Explorer (or whatever the file manager on your platform).

  FB should automatically compile and produce an aaa.swf in the bin-debug folder. You will also need to modify the aaa - app.xml and create an icon for the appropriate application. After that, follow the instructions to get started on creating the debug launch for this project configuration.

  I have really good experiences migration 10g and 11g via the data link. As you say long and long raw do not work, but everything else seems fine (LOB, etc.). Make sure you are as high as you can go as there are a lot of bugs datapump generally - not just with db links patched up.

  It is much more efficient than having to go out to a file.

  Parallelism will be 5 separate tables at the same time - it does first the 5 most great. Index will then be built with 5 parallel after the tables.

  Just make sure that pool of streams and PGA are way big enough both sides.

• Question about PDF files with linked images (not embedded) between the player and Illustrator

  What I will meet situations when I get a PDF file to client that must be changed. When they load in Acrobat Reader, it works fine. However if I load in Illustrator it asks me to point to the linked file. The question is how Acrobat Reader to open a PDF file and display a linked file when it is not incorporated? Why Illustrator cannot do the same?

  For the associated images, your PDF file contains a thumbnail image as well as the reference or the address of the actual image. Player will show this vignette.   select MEMBER from gv$logfile where GROUP#=7
  

  (and it's associated, group_8.2722.737945377, not displayed if I search the GROUP # 8)
  (Current members are displayed without problems)

  My question: can I delete these files safe?

  If ensure you that your database is not using this file. You can delete this file without problem.

  If your database is OPEN and you try to delete a file in use, you receive the following error.

  ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
  ORA-15028: ASM file '' not dropped; currently being accessed (DBD ERROR: OCIStmtExecute)
  

  This prevents you from deleting the files in use.
