Question about Java and other concerns

It was in the original thread Java, decided that it should be easier in the separate thread.

A simple uninstall will get rid of Java, or leftovers to stick around. After picking up the Live safety scanner fake Trojan or whatever it is, I did some scans online in addition to MMFA, who got rid of him in a quick scan and SAS, and Windows Defender. You don't know if AntiVir would be cleaned, but MBAM it in the short term. Thought I was clicking on a secure link, but I learned enough here to start in Safe Mode, run MBAM, and WD of Tower and Windows Security Center and return to normal. Somewhere along the line, I received a few Java mentioned error messages. Think that I tried to download ot and run an online scan, but can't remember for sure.

Moreover, somewhere I took advice of Prime Minister, which seems to be a malicious ad-ware and pest stealing information data. I deleted the program. It does not appear on all analysis, but there is an entry in WinPatrol in Services, where it shows up as being disabled. He also appears in the Services in Task Manager, where it shows stopped. Don't know what I can do to get rid of it completely or if it anything wrong at this point, if it is disabled.

Dale,

even if java uninstaller leaves behind some errant registry entries, I don't know that it's worth trying to go after them.   [For example, I found a Web page since java itself which talks about how to change the registry in case"Java icon is still visible in the Panel hasthat almost have Java is uninstalled".   [I have purposely not cited this link here, because I don't recommend editing the registry and don't want to be responsible for all the problems if they try to do.]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I've learned enough here to start in Safe Mode, run MBAM, and...". »

Note that MBAM is designed to run in NORMAL mode, in order to be able to find and conquer the malware that is resident / operation of the system RAM.   (By starting in safe mode, this malicious program does not work often and if MBAM won't find it in memory).   In fact, the only time where we should try to launch WHAT MBAM in safe mode is when he is unable to run in normal mode.   And now, with MBAM Chameleon, it is even less likely that MBAM will be prevented from running normally.

In this sense, MBAM takes a very different from other security programs philosophy, that often MAKE application users run in safe mode.

And as you have seen, MBAM focuses on 'rogue' malware that other products do not detect or do not remove properly.   For a person to "do-it-yourself", it should be the first scanner that you run when it encounters a thief.   [Of course, to "do it yourself", you can only exacerbate existing problems... so you must proceed with caution.]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Somewhere along the line, I received a few Java mentioned error messages.

Was it a message 'error', that Java was "defective"?   Or was it just a notice that you visited a java requiring site, which he could not find (active) on your system?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regarding the Premier's Opinion, I would be concerned that "it also appears in the Services in Manager tasks, where it shows stopped.   [I am less concerned with what appears as 'disabled' in respect of the services of WinPatrol, as sometimes, after deleting a program or a service, it may still appear as a service disabled in WinPatrol.   But in this case, WinPatrol should indicate that the (local) file is not found.]

But as I am not familiar with this particular program, you can either wait Bugbatter you answer here, to see what she suggests... or if you're in a hurry, you can follow the instructions at http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=79038 to sign up and post the logs requested to SpywareInfoForum.com; There are experts here AIDS that can 'walk you through' procedures to analyze your system and clean the infection.   Any help provided that it is FREE.   If you decide to go to help them, please wait for a response, and do NOT attempt to perform any other scans to remove yourself – do exactly as they ask you to do, no more, no less.

  • Question about processor and Windows. need to answer accrdingly to discription below. ?

    I use windows xp. on cpu 2.4, 1 gb ram and 256 of the hard drive. and I am aware of two pins in my processor is broken by the heat of combustion. the system still works fine. but the only problem that I face is that it takes 3 x the normal time to copy the data from the drive usb or vice versa...  This is: it is because of the processor broken pins to copy slow. and is there a way to solve via software system say avoid those specifice pins or some how? ?   Hopefully the issue is understandable. answer please...

    Pins broken on a processor and things still work, and your concern is slow copy?

    What is "thermal burning?  You can expand on how these pins really broken?

    There is no software (that I know) to "move" broken material as you describe.  You would be better to spend a little money to find a replacement processor or a replacement processor and motherboard that will accept your current memory, etc. MY HUMBLE OPINION.

    Is * only * the cause of your slow copy - questionable.  Save more explanation of what happened to the pins of the processor - I suspect there is other damage suffered by the system, you don't even know of which could cause slow best USB.  Something with the motherboard, possibly.  Specifically the same USB ports.

    I mean - you could back up everything, perform a clean installation of the operating system and see if it works better after loading the latest drivers form the manufacturers of hardware components in your machine costs and clean...  Otherwise - shot in the dark so that blindfolded and ignoring obvious cries of "stop, don't shoot."  * smile *.

    Side also - comment - if there is something wrong * everything * and you declare it here, the system * not * "are still working fine.  * smile *.

  • Question about VALIDATION and EXCEPTION loop

    DB version: 11.2

    I believe the gurus here despise is committed inside loops. Due to budgetary constraints our java colleagues write code PL/SQL here. Below is an excerpt from a stored procedure that does some archive stuff.

    Question on COMMIT
    =====================
    I know is committed to the inside of the loops is bad, but I just want to know if the path that they have implemented COMMIT frequency is correct (using the number of iterations). Their intention was to commit all 200,000 records.

    Question on EXCEPTION
    ======================
    LMD like that, isn't better to have the exception block in the loop?

    select po.txn_id, po.po_id BULK COLLECT into v_txn_id, v_po_id
    from purchase_orders po inner join txn_pkt_common tc
    on tc.txn_id = po.txn_id
    and tc.created_date < po.last_mod_date;

    v_rec_count := 0;

    IF v_txn_id IS NOT NULL AND v_txn_id.COUNT > 0 THEN

         FOR i IN v_txn_id.FIRST .. v_txn_id.LAST LOOP

              v_rec_count := v_rec_count + 1;

              INSERT INTO purchase_orders_archive SELECT * FROM purchase_orders WHERE po_id = v_po_id(i);

              DELETE FROM purchase_orders WHERE po_id = v_po_id(i);

              IF v_rec_count >= 200000 THEN
              COMMIT;
              v_rec_count := 0;
              END IF;

          END LOOP;
         COMMIT;

    end if;

    Cursor inside the lines, Yes, but this isn't a case of contemptuous, it's more to do this is to knowingly introduce a bug in your code, resulting in a possible "snapshot too old" error So, good programmers do not.

    Question on COMMIT
    =====================
    I know is committed to the inside of the loops is bad, but I just want to know if the path that they have implemented COMMIT frequency is correct (using the number of iterations). Their intention was to commit all 200,000 records.

    Q: Why is there the intention to commit all 200,000 records? What is the issue they're trying to move?

    In your example code, it is the data block collection. Is it really in collector block + 200,000 records? If so you may have a serious impact on the resources of database data are collected in the memory of the PGA, which is expensive.

    Question on EXCEPTION
    ======================
    LMD like that, isn't better to have the exception block in the loop?

    That depends on what you want to do when an exception occurs. If the exception can be 'managed' and you want to continue processing the rest of the data, then Yes, you would want an exception around the DML inside the loop block. If an exception should cause processing to stop completely, then you want the exception handler (if you really need one) out of the loop... but then you wonder again why you make inside the loop, because it is not supposed transaction.

    All of this procedure looks like this could be done with a single INSERT statement followed a single DELETE statement, followed by a unique validation. Oracle can easily handle millions of records, so it shouldn't be a problem.

    The other problem with frequent postings is that each commit tells oracle to write the data to the data blocks, and these 'write' get statements go in the database for the writer to manage processes. By default, there are X number of writer running process (depends on version and other parameters) when the database starts, but if a large number of postings is published then Oracle begins to generate additional editor on the server processes to manage the extra workload, which can then cause a lot of writer running process (using the resources of the server) all trying to access the same load of blocks of data in terms of physical i/o and therefore all the other slows down. This is why frequent postings are not a good thing, and you must book to engage in logical business transactions.

  • Two questions about T440s and T540

    Hello

    Recently, I bought ThinkPad T540 and my father also got a T440s for his work. He asked me if there was a physical switch to WiFi and I have no idea. It wasn't a W510, is this feature removed on T540 and other models xx40?

    Another thing is the sleep button. Before that I was able to quickly put my computer to sleep with the key Fn + Sleep (rescent blue moon). I know there is no button with the same symbol, but in Lenovo Power Manager there is an option for the action of the "Sleep" button It is set to "sleep". My question - is there a "sleep button" after all? I am able to define a shortcut for sleep somehow outside the power button / stop hoding for 1 second?

    Yes, wifi switch has been removed in laptops Haswell. I think fn + 4 is now the sleep button (not F4!).

  • A few questions about LabView and (fairly complicated) thermocouples

    Hello, I intend to read [this is only 16] 20 thermocouples (type K - in data acquisition, assistant it is J but it will change soon). I use two devices, usb-6008 and usb 6251. I had a BT program (see table below) and I have some questions/statements that need to be confirmed:

    1. I plugged my devices, put DAQ Assistant on the Panel, the temperature chose->-> K thermocouples and I scored channels by dragging a slider 'clicked' on all channels. So now I'm able to read all channels, right?

    2. I have added a few thermometers and digital indicators with them to have an accurate reading of thermometers in digital data.

    3. I've read a few articles on tracing multi channels on a single diagram of wave and I want to apply to my program. Basically, I don't know how to run, I need to make a table and plug it on the graph of the wave. The thing is, I don't know how to do it.

    4. I would get 1 sample per second 1, I added the delay time = 1000ms. Unfortunately, DAQ Assistant says it works like 1 k samples by 1 Hz.

    I am quite fresh in LabView and currently I view tutorials and other things. I would be grateful for advice.

    BTW, I can't test if it works with thermocouples connected because I don't have at the moment and the place where I would be able to test the program has very limited access

  • Confusion/Questions about Java

    Running Windows XP Pro, SP2

    I just downloaded and installed the latest version of Java (update version 6, 15).

    1. when I look under Program Files / Java, I found 3 files:

    JRE 1.5.0 dated 09/11/2005

    JRE 1.6.0_0, dated 2007-06-21

    JRE 6, date dated 02/09/2009 (obviously the last download)

    2. when I look under control panel JAVA, under the 'Java' tab, view and manage versions of the Java runtime and the settings for Java applications and applets, I find the 3 versions (above) listed and enabled.

    3. when I look under the Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs, I find 2 entries for Java:

    (TM) 6 Update 15 (of course the update was installed just)

    Java (TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

    My questions are:

    1 are all these versions/files necessary?

    2. shouldn't the last update replace the previous versions?

    3. What can I delete (i.e., what is not necessary), and how can I remove them?  It seems to me that lists of Java in Add/Remove programs are for the most recent version, which probably I shouldn't remove. I have to change the registry to successfully delete older versions?

    4. should I just turn off the 2 older versions in the Java Control Panel and you don't have to remove them (although I prefer to free up additional disk space if they are not required)?

    I could use some advice warned of your people.

    Thank you.

    First of all, I want to inform that you uninstall Java and manually remove the Java files once you did if they still exist.

    In the same sense, re - install Java (latest Version) and make sure that it works. Use the tester of Java on the Java site to do this. (Google "Java tester").

    Then try to fill one of the actions that you were trying to front.

    If it's still a question please let me know and we can discuss some of the resolutions more advanced with the registry changes.

My goal of creating windows on my mac for a course I'm taking. After that know I need windows 7, I bought it online. I created a partition of 80g on my mac charge windows 7, then norton. So, followed by all as should be. The prompt update from apple was quick time, iTunes and airport, I checked all and then updated. Then I loaded office 2010 and obtained throughout the process from the Microsoft site. On the last part of the installation, the installation failed due to a mistake of hanging iTunes. I tried again and again, I fixed the update to iTunes to add and remove the section of windows. Then, I got different errors. I decided to remove the whole score without uninstalling all programs again. When I get to the windows live, that this falls priming. I get various error messages whenever I try to start the process. • Question about snapshots and virtual machines

    Hi all

    I have a small question about snapshots. I use VMware for about 6 months and I read about snapshots and how they work but still have a question to make sure that I understand how it works and it will work the way I think it works.

    I have a Windows 2003 server, which is a virtual machine. I have an application that uses MSDE database. I want to upgrade the database to MS SQL 2005, but to do this I need to back up the MSDE database, uninstall MSDE, and then install SQL 2005 and move the SQL database. This happens on the same VM.

    What I was thinking if I well Snapshots correctly is to snap turned the virtual machine before doing anything. Then do my upgrade steps and see if everything works. If its all messed up so I should be able to return to my shot and everything should be the way he had. What is the good? One of the main reasons I moved the server VM was because of this upgrade.

    After reading the documentation for the snapshots, it's how I undestood it. Pretty much any change could be reversed with snapshots. I wish just they had put in a few examples in the PDF file. Also it would be the same for all type of grades of the OS? Could I snapshot a Windows 2000 Server, and then "in the upgrade of the square" to Windows 2003? I've cloned a VM to do this but was curious about whether snapshots would be just as easy.

    Thanks for your help.

    That is right.

    Exactly the same thing for the upgrades of the OS.

    Perhaps the most important thing with the snapshots is to keep an eye on them and don't let them sit too long or become too big.  You have described the use cases are very good uses for snapshots.  Just make sure you have a solid plan with a schedule set, so that you can come back or validate changes before the snapshot becomes too large.

    Good luck!

  • Questions about SD and USB running Vista on Satellite M40X

    Well, I've updated my M40X to VISTA, if it is not mentioned on the list of allow.
    Well, actually installed on a new formatted partition.
    Runs smoothly, RAM is sufficient, component more slow seems to be the CPU, well, fair enough.

    The two is listed in Device Manager, the USB hub and the customer of the sd. In addition, there are a storage device mass with a pilot error in the list.
    Whenever I have insert well tested cards, USB HDs mp3 players or that it is in the slots the computer sometimes makes noise-ping but does not show any device in Solution Explorer or a new letter of the device.

    I think it's some kind of driver issue, but found no solution. Not even after researching dayandnight on forums and other things.
    Card reader is "Texas Instruments PCIxx21 Intergrated Flash Media Controller", as I understand it.
    Well, I'd be more than happy and greatfull if someone could recommend a solution for these problems, pref with links to the drivers.
    Am really low.

    Hello

    As you know, this laptop model is certainly not support Vista and Toshiba will design all the Vista drivers for this model of laptop. I can imagine that Vista works very well, but without the right drivers, it is not easy to use certain hardware components.

    I recommend you to use Windows XP Home edition. WXP works great on this laptop. For all tests, you can install Vista on the second partition to see how it works. I think right after a few weeks remove you Vista and use WXP as before. ;)

    SO I add this code inside each movable answer...

    function removechild (event. MouseEvent) {}

    this.parent.removeChild(-1);

    }

    but of course this does not... any ideas?

    Cheers for your help

    Void

    You must assign the MOUSE_UP listener on the stage to make him independent object.  If you need to know which object has been moved then store a reference to it in a variable.

    In addition, the removeChild() method argument should be a DisplayObject, not a number
