Question about password of Windows 8

I have a desktop running windows 7 and laptop running windows 8. my laptop picks up my password on my desktop or should it have it's own password in my laptop is part of my home network.

[Original title: passwords]

If you connect to your PC under Windows 8 with Microsoft Account, it would be the same as your Microsoft Account password. However, if you use a local account, you must create your own password. There is NO synchronization of password for Windows 7 and Windows 8 and each account would have his own password and control separately. Everything is you use Microsoft Account and choose to connect with Microsoft Account (in Windows 8), then you have the same account (username and password) for your device in Windows 8.

  • Question about processor and Windows. need to answer accrdingly to discription below. ?

I use windows xp. on cpu 2.4, 1 gb ram and 256 of the hard drive. and I am aware of two pins in my processor is broken by the heat of combustion. the system still works fine. but the only problem that I face is that it takes 3 x the normal time to copy the data from the drive usb or vice versa...  This is: it is because of the processor broken pins to copy slow. and is there a way to solve via software system say avoid those specifice pins or some how? ?   Hopefully the issue is understandable. answer please...

Pins broken on a processor and things still work, and your concern is slow copy?

What is "thermal burning?  You can expand on how these pins really broken?

There is no software (that I know) to "move" broken material as you describe.  You would be better to spend a little money to find a replacement processor or a replacement processor and motherboard that will accept your current memory, etc. MY HUMBLE OPINION.

Is * only * the cause of your slow copy - questionable.  Save more explanation of what happened to the pins of the processor - I suspect there is other damage suffered by the system, you don't even know of which could cause slow best USB.  Something with the motherboard, possibly.  Specifically the same USB ports.

I mean - you could back up everything, perform a clean installation of the operating system and see if it works better after loading the latest drivers form the manufacturers of hardware components in your machine costs and clean...  Otherwise - shot in the dark so that blindfolded and ignoring obvious cries of "stop, don't shoot."  * smile *.

Side also - comment - if there is something wrong * everything * and you declare it here, the system * not * "are still working fine.  * smile *.

  • Question about activation of Windows 7 Edition upgrade Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate

    Hi all

I've recently updated the OS on my computer laptop from Home Premium (Windows 7) supplied with the computer (I have activated the product) to ultimate (Windows 7) using an upgrade key.  Now when I turn on my computer it says 3 days until automatic activation or activate now.  I clicked activate now, but I apparently don't have the right key.  I tried the upgrade button, but I was told that it cannot be used to activate the operating system.  I also tried my original laptop computer product key but I was told that it will not now work with my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.  I don't know what I can do.  What will happen in 3 days?  Can someone tell me if I have anything to worry about and what I can do to solve?  Thanks in advance!

    -Looks

    Strange, strange.

First of all, where did you get your Windows 7 Ultimate license?

Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade came with a product key?

What type of upgrade, you did do, was an Express upgrade or did you do a custom clean install?

This is probably why you are experiencing the problem.

Try to update the product key and then again by phone:

    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

  • question about blocking in Windows 7

In Windows XP, using the function "lock" does just that and goes into security everyone except administrators.

However, I just noticed in Windows 7 that the lock screen offers a button for 'switch user' and apparently it takes you to the home screen as if I had chosen "change user" instead of hitting - L.

Also another limited user has apparently had no problems to connect.

Is there a reason I can't hit -L and then hit the big button "switch user" to leave quickly me connected with my stuff open when someone else needs to quickly check their e-mail messages, I think its a lot easier to do with my failing that play with the small triangle in the start menu view right next to the easily clicked the button 'stop '.

I just ask if there is something that I miss, because it works differently than I remember it works under XP, where he did block all users and only someone with admin rights or the same user might unlock.

    Hello

To use this shortcut, press Windows + L logo. The following list has different computer lock-down scenarios that are available to you, as well as other ways to lock the computer:

    Fast user activated switch

If the fast user switching feature is enabled and you lock the computer, you can observe the same behavior if you changed users: the computer returns to the Welcome screen and other users can connect to the computer.

    Disabled fast user switching

If the fast user switching feature is disabled and you lock the computer, the Unlock Computer dialog box is displayed and requires the user to enter a password to unlock the current connected computer.

    Welcome screen enabled

If the Welcome screen is enabled, the computer can also be locked if you press CTRL + ALT + DELETE (to open Task Manager), and then click lock computer or click switch user in the shut down menu.

NOTE: the ability to observe "Lock computer" or "Switch user" on the menu stop depends directly on the fast user switching feature is enabled or not.

Refer to the section 'to turn off fast user (Advanced) change' of this Microsoft article:

    Switch users without logging

These are forums for Vista, and you have Windows 8.

I'm moving your question on the Forums of Windows 8.

XP, Vista and Windows 7, Windows Defender is an Anti-Spyware application and Norton disables that Norton has its own Anti-spware application and advocate the 2 would cause problems if they ran together.

BUT in Windows 8, Windows Defender is an anti-virus program and you should not install Norton as well.

Only have AN anti-virus program installed.

  • Questions about upgrading to Windows 8/8.1 of Windows 7

    Original title: if I'm updated to Win7 x 64 x 64 Win8 and possibly Win8.1 Pro - install Question (and a few others) - I forgot

It's been so long that I've updated that I can't remember (and feel stupid because it)-is it possible to update the OS without losing everything and having to reinstall absolutely everything (programs, drivers, etc.) and re-apply your settings (folder ranges, etc.)?

I also have Office 2013 Home and Business that I still have to install.

I think part of the reason why I'm hesitant is because I remember it took me a month of tinkering to get things e path, I wanted to put them again, and I don't want to have to put a lot more effort in.

Also, I am on a PC, so not tech drag on the screen for me.

Oh and hey - anyone know what they mean when they say "you need a TV Tuner to watch shows in Media Center"? Is this just dongle a little or something that I can get, or is it rather to tie really a 'cable' in my Inbox? Summer of wonder on this subject. Will I need another box my cable to connect to my PC company or what is a TV tuner, exactly?

Any help and information would be deeply and appreciated muchly.

    Hello Raven,

Please keep us updated on the issue.

When you upgrade, your data and programs will remain. However, there may be a possibility that some of your programs are not compatible with Windows 8/8.1.

In the same context, I proposed to refer you to the article see which works to ensure the compatibility of programs.

  • Photoshop CS2 began to have questions about the other windows.

About 2 months ago, I started to notice that Photoshop CS2 has started to have problems with me open or do it before all other windows, such as Explorer or Chrome for example. This is what my PS normally looks like:Clipboard01.png

and if I try to bring another program, it will act as if I clicked on the start bar and the PS is more picked up (you have to click the program again to interact with him)

Then when I go to color/clear/do almost anything on the Web, my tools will vanish like this:Clipboard02.png

and reappear when I click on the gray background of the PS window. They may not be disabled.

Sometimes, and I don't have a screenshot because I can't reproduce right now, the new program (Chrome, Explorer, etc.) is displayed, but the windows tools will remain.

I dealt with it for a while, but I would like to first of all streaming my art and I won't continue to happen. I like to use CS2, so please don't recommend just other programs unless it is just absolutely not repairable.

I ran CS2 on this computer since September of the year last with zero problems, so I don't know why it started

Thank you, I'll check the wire, but I tried to reset my default preferences, and that seems to have fixed.

  • Question about password check the operation

I was hoping that someone could help me. I'm not a dba, but our society, our accounting system requires the minimum password length set to a minimum of 8. Our DBA has added a password feature to PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION in profiles of these accounts to comply with policy. However, my question is, at what time work PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION? If the system passwords never change and does not connect to Oracle, would never applied function? For example, if the account "ex_system" had a length of password of 4, and the PASSWORD_VERIFY_FUNCTION has been added to their profile to run the fuction that requires a password of 8, when the 'ex_system' password should be changed?

Also, is there a way to manually check individual accounts to see if their existing passwords comply with the policy of minimum length?

    Thank you!

The function will be executed the next time that the password has been changed.

You cannot recover the password of the account to check if it is consistent with the policy. You could potentially run a cracker password on the database to see which passwords can be broken in a reasonable amount of time. Any password that has been less than 8 characters, especially if it does not use special characters, would probably be broken relatively quickly. I thought that Pete Finnigan used to have such a tool on its web site but I can't seem to find it now (it may be part of its 'Enterprise Security Scanner' product)

  • question about password reset in bulk

    Hello

    EBS r12.0.4 | RDBMS 10 g 2
    I have a question.
After clone, I have the password for users of ~ 20 with a script that simply run FNDCPASS for users.

When we change the password of the application (it is Administrator-> Security-> users-> define, query for a user, type a password, retype the password, save), during its next connection, the user will quickly change his password.

With FNDCPASS or fnd_user_pkg.changepassword, then its next connection, the user are not quick to change their password.

Is there a way to change the password and invite them to change their password through the script?

    Thank you

Please see (users are not prompted to change their password when using Fnd_user_pkg. UpdateUser [344979.1 ID]).

  • Question about product key Windows XP Pro on Satellite A135-S4427

I have an A135-S4427 which came with Windows Vista.
As I did not like the vista I formatted and installed Windows Xp Professional with SP2 and got all the drivers working.
All I need now is a product key for activation of windows. I tried to use the key which is at the bottom of my laptop... but did not work.

    Any help please?
I appreciate any help on this...

    Thank you

    HI penny,

The product key on the bottom of your laptop is specific to the OEM of VISTA that came bundled with your noteook version. If you have installed a different operating system, then you must use the product key provided with the operating system that you have installed. It will be normally provided in the CD itself or on the packaging.

  • Question about password on the new Satellite A105 HARD drive

I am the owner of a Satellite A105 and the hard drive was failing. I got a new hard drive but before I gave up on the current one I decided to wipe it clean and a few tools to see if it was a way to recover.

Well, when wiping clean it restarts and then he showed me a message saying "password type of HARD drive internal" or something similar. I do not know the password so I can't use the hard disk more (or is there a way to reset the password?), but before you install the new hard drive I want to know if there could be a problem installing the new hard drive in the laptop without knowing the previous password.

I mean, it locks the new hard drive or is it completely independent of the installed hard drive? The one I have is brand new, and I want to know if I plug it in and from the laptop are all I have to do?

    Hello

If the HARD drive password has been activated and you don t usually know this password then the HARD drive is locked and can no longer be used.
It s simply not accessible and it s not possible to remove this password.

    > I want to know if there could be a problem installing the new hard drive in the laptop without knowing the previous password. I mean, it locks the new hard drive or is it completely independent of the installed hard drive?
I think that he should t be any problem with a new HARD drive.
As I said the password is stored in the sector specials on the HARD drive. The old password should not exist on the new HARD drive (if the password has not been set).

    Best regards
