  I can say that only two U2410 revisions that makes any material changes were A01 and A02. The last numbers you see received these numbers because of related material changes in OSD (On Screen Display) or the hidden factory Menu. Normally, there is not a way to Flash the bios to monitor client. This is only done at the factory. Even if you were to do a monitor Exchange, we cannot choose which revision may be provided.

  (3) if I will be able to burn the installation media, I'll be able to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 8 (which I'd rather do, I have a lot of backups of my data).  I am aware that I would probably need to provide my product key Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM during the new installation, because it is an upgrade and not a full version; This isn't a big deal, because my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM product key is stuck at the bottom of my laptop.

I'm looking more for the read head of infromation functionality rather than how to implement this type of question.
