Question about the size of a DVD file made?

Hi all

I just finished my first home using Premiere Pro CS4 and Encore CS4 video. My source is a consumer HD camcorder. When I created the PP project, I chose the AVCHD format to keep the best possible quality. Yes Iimported files in PP, apply some transition effects and the title a bit. Then I sent the sequence again via dynamic links. When you create the project in again, I chose the Blu ray. I therefore created a menu and all the navigation, added a subtitle and background music. Initially, I wanted to created a DVD of my video to give the members of the family, so I'll drive created, select output DVD and make the video. Now, here's my problem: the created DVD folder is 7 GB, and my pictures are only 1h45min. I always thought that a single layer 4.7 GB could hold about 2 hours of video? My source in HD, but by selecting the DVD release, shouldn't she converted to SD and fit a 4.7 GB disc? What I am doing wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Bruno

You can change the transcoding settings, by default the transcoding settings are automatic which is for the best possible quality. Right-click on the media in the project Panel, and then select settings for transcoding. Change settings for transcoding DVD NTSC DV high quality 4 MB VBR 2 pass for transcoding. You will be able to check the change in disk space on disk under building Board info after transcoding. If there are still more than you must try with 4 MB or of poor quality.

  • Question about the size of my Virtual Machine

I'm on Fusion 3.1 (and Windows XP in Fusion on a MacBookPro Leopard). I put my Windows Virtual Machine to be 40 GB size but I just ran OmniDiskSweeper and it shows that the virtual machine takes 53 GB. I see the same size in the Finder.

Two questions: first, how is it possible for the virtual machine to limit growth, I gave him? Second, is there a way for me to downsize (safely). I did not quite in the virtual machine (mainly my installation of Windows) and a handful of programs so it's weird that she's so big.

    I have disabled Auto-protect.

I have two snapshots, one of when I first set up the virtual machine and one of very recently. I once had a bunch of other photos but I deleted them. I mention this because I read in another thread that "orphan" instant can hang out somewhere but I don't know where to look to see if this is the reason for the growth of my virtual machine.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

One thing I didn't get your last answer: if snapshots are not backup, and the creation of a snapshot causes the basic disk that you want to stop growing, which are good for snapshots? Or in other words, your response, it looks like I should stop creating snapshots, Yes?

In which case I should rely only on periodically manually save the virtual machine by copying in the Finder on an external drive?

What I said was "Snapshots are not backups in the traditional sense of the word and should not be relied upon as such either." However, using clichés absolutely has merit and value but how to use them effectively and efficiently seems to escape most of the users.  As a general rule, I treat a not different Virtual Machine and a physical Machine, then when it come to back up the user data and the ability to quickly restore the entire construction as well as user data.  I use snapshots mainly for short periods of time, and then either delete them when I don't want to lose changes made along the way, or if I go back to a previous snapshot.  For example, I can run on a given snapshot and say a single snapshot for a week and if all was well I'll delete it and take another or if I need to do something that could end up with bad results I'll take a snapshot to do what I do and if I have a problem just go back to the previous snapshot or the basic disk as appropriate.  The trick is user data constantly backed up out of the Virtual Machine itself, as well as at some point in time I never have to worry about the State of and reason for any data or instant and what action I might have to or want to take.

There are many other cases workers scenarios about how/when to use snapshots and it was just a bit of food for thought because I don't have time now to get deeper into it but the snapshots are a good thing to use as and when necessary, but do not count on them to replace the traditional methods/methodologies for backup/recovery of data user or any backup/restore system but use then as a another tool in the digital Toolbox.

  • Question about the size of the swf

Hi all, I had a small question. I have some old .swf files that I made a long time ago, but I do not have the .flas. I have trouble finding the size (height and width) of these files. I want to use the swfobject to embed, is there a way to find out just how big, or is it possible to use swfobject without declaring a size?

    Thanks for any advice.

If you double-click the SWF file to open it, it should open in the Flash Player to its actual size.  SO, you should be able to get a screenshot of it and then determine the size of the crop of this screenshot.

  • Question about the size of the hard drive for the 11s Yoga

    Hello

I have a question about my 11 s Yoga that I bought recently.

It is advertised as having 128 GB SSD, but according to the PC of the information there are 101 on the C drive and 3.99 GB on the D drive. This only adds to 104,99 GB. Is someone can you please tell me where are the remaining 23 GB?

Just to clarify, Go 104.99 is no space AVAILABLE, it's total capacity. The available space is only 67GB, which is not much at all I installed practically anything outside of a few documents.

    Thank you

  • A few questions about the use of a XML file to add text in a component defined in HTML TextArea

    I use AS2 in Flash CS3.

I have a TextArea component in the scene that load its XML text and I was able to use the ul and li tags to create lists. However, when I try to include a nested list, he inserts just a line break between the nested list and the main list rather than he dash away. Is there a solution for this problem?

Otherwise, how would I be able to add spaces nonbreaking in the XML so that they will be inside the TextArea element? I tried and & #160; without success. I've been searching the net for some help with this and find information about the change of the incorporation of xml file with a new entry for the non-breaking space of police and that has not worked either, which leaves me a bit confused.

Flash does not support nested lists (as you know).  You can work around this limitation by using css and create your own styles of dash.  CSS have a property marginLeft, that you can use.

  • Question about the size of the redo log buffer

    Hello

I am a student in Oracle and the book I use says that having a bigger than the buffer log by default, the size is a bad idea.

It sets out the reasons for this are:

    >
The problem is that when a statement COMMIT is issued, part of the batch validation means to write the contents of the buffer log for redo log to disk files. This entry occurs in real time, and if it is in progress, the session that issued the VALIDATION will be suspended.
    >

I understand that if the redo log buffer is too large, memory is lost and in some cases could result in disk i/o.

What I'm not clear on is, the book makes it sound as if a log buffer would cause additional or IO work. I would have thought that the amount of work or IO would be substantially the same (if not identical) because writing the buffer log for redo log files is based on the postings show and not the size of the buffer itself (or its satiety).

Description of the book is misleading, or did I miss something important to have a larger than necessary log buffer?

    Thank you for your help,

    John.

A commit evacuates everything that in the buffer redolog for redo log files.
A redo log buffer contains the modified data.
But this is not just commit who empty the redolog buffer to restore the log files.
    LGWR active every time that:
    (1) a validation occurs
    (2) when the redo log is 1/3 full
    (3) every 3 seconds
It is not always necessary that this redolog file will contain validated data.
If there is no commit after 3 seconds, redologfile would be bound to contain uncommitted data.

  • Question about the size of the drops shadow

    Hi all!

I created a style that contains only a custom shadow. I frequently use this style of illustrations that I am creating a book.

However, since the update to 2014 CC, I had a problem with the style. The size of the shadow is different on each illustration that I apply it. I initially created the style to have a px size 7, but now, when it is applied, the size is sometimes 22 px, sometimes 30 px, sometimes 5 px.

Can someone tell me what is happening and how I can get the size drops shadow remains constant whenever I apply it?

    Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, than if you create a predefined layer style Adobe store the resolution of the document that you were editing when you created the preset in the preset this Photoshop which allows the effect of style to the resolution of the document to which you apply the style layer presets.

Layer style setting as you are in absolute terms in pixels.  That means the size of the shadow would would vary on document with different resolutions, notice in the layers of the menu it is layer > layer Style > effects of scale... and dialog (s) in the size of the Image there is a scale Styles box or a balance setting Styles...

If it works differently in version CC 15 is then was CC version 14, they can be a new bug.

If you want a shadow of 7px regardless of the resolution of documents that you can be able to save an action that add a PX 7 shadow using the layer Style dialog box does not use a predefined style.

I created a Drop Shadow preset on a 300 DPI Document distance 2 px size 7px.  Then, I recorded an action the applied than preset and then applies the same settings using the style layer instead of the preset dialog box.  There is a big difference on the way in which the two steps were recorded.

When I walk through the action on a 300 DPI paper shadows looks the same.  On a 72 dpi document that the shadow of a Preset seems small as 300 DPI document however the step which was recorded with the shadow layer Layer Style dialog box looking for him much more leap has been reduced to match the resolution of 72 dpi for documents.

So it look like if you use a style of layer preset in style palette, the effect will be to change the resolution DPI of documents.  Notice in the action there is a layer Style scale 100% in step recorded using dialogue layer style.   Where the pre-defined DS is applied some how by Photoshop and Photoshop will scale the effect...

  • A question about the size of Swap for Oracle 11.2

    Hello everyone

I want to install Oracle Rac 11.2 on 2 Server with 22 GB of RAM each.

Reading Exchange according to the requirements of the Infrastructure of grid for Linux, I found this:

Between 1 and 2 GB-> 1.5 times the size of RAM
Between 2 GB and 16 GB-> equal to the size of RAM
    More than 16 GB--> 16 GB

The requirements of database for Linux 86_64 of reading:
Between 4 and 8 GB-> 2 times the size of RAM
Between 8 and 32 GB-> 1.5 times the size of RAM
    Over 32 GB--> 32 GB

Then, with 22 GB, follow the requirements grid: 16 GB and database requirements: 33 GB

    Should what size I get?

    Thank you very much

This is how I read it.

  • Question about the impact of a data file missing

    Oracle Version: 10 gr 2

If a data file (not a data file belonging to the tablespace SYSTEM or any other data file associated with Oracle Internals) is lost, I can bring the database up somehow?

    Keita,
What happens if I don't have a backup of the data file that is lost?

    OK understood

If you do not have a backup of your database and that you have lost a data file, then you must re - create control file (which will contain the names of data inside files) without indicating lost data file name

You must create the controlfile creation script and remove the line of lost data file name and create a controlfile. After that, you should be able to open your database successfully

  • Question about the size of the Previews folder

    Hello

This is my first question on Lightroom, so I would really appreciate help ^^

My setup is as follows: a LR catalog, with about 51,000 photos. The total size of the pictures takes up approximately 252 GB (they are between 10 Mpx-22MP).

I implemented the previews as follows: auto-size (2560px), average quality, ignore the insights 1:1 after 1 day.

Now my previews is 50 GB!

    Is this normal?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

Yes this is normal looking at the configuration and the number of images that you have in the catalog.

Check this similar to the forum thread.

I hope it will be useful.

  • Question about the migration of mass of files and permissions

    Hello

I'm moving 2TBs of files from one external hard drive to another, but every time that I try to do a file mass transfer from one day to the next it eventually fail due to permissions for some files. I looked at the files on that he objected and I read and write permissions on them, as you would expect.

What can I do to fix this?

Try to run repair permissions and ACLs on your record. A repair permissions with disk utility does not have anything in your folder. Boot from your recovery partition now command-keys R in the menu utilities launch Terminal. In the Terminal, type: resetpassword , then press return.  (Note: you won't be reset password)

Click the icon for the hard drive of your Mac at the top. In the drop down menu below, select your home folder. At the bottom of the window restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Then, click on the Reset button. When the prompt returns to the command line, you can leave out Terminal.

  • Question about the opening of JavaScript (.js) files in Windows Explorer...

    Hello.

I write web pages with external JavaScript files.

When I right click on a file in Windows Explorer .js, I get a choice when selecting menu "open with...". » :

-Microsoft (R) Windows Based Script Host

    -Microsoft Visual Studio

    -Notepad

Nothing happens if I select the first. What is the first listed selection? Is this something that should have come with Vista?

What to keep in mind, is that JavaScript is coded in the web pages, for example in HTML format.

Go to a web page, right click on the white space and choose View Source and you will see the words such as JavaScript and function. If you look at the coding of the function, you should be able to recognize the commands.

    Good luck with the coding.

  • Question about the configuration of virtual computer file and the working VM location

I noticed one of my virtual machines had two data warehouses listed under "Items" in the vSphere Client.

After some research autour, I found the virtual machine files are in the correct data store, but the 'VM-configuration file' and 'Place of work VM' are in another data store.

Can I combine all in the same database?   I'd rather have the config and the workplace on ma who has a lot of main storage.  For some reason, the configuration file and the location of work were created on a local storage on my host.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    David Moore

You can use Storage vMotion to migrate only the virtual machine configuration file to the desired location, just start the wizard of vMotion and storage step 'Select the data store', click Advanced, and you will see the option to select a new destination for the configuration file data store.
