Question about updating Flash of Internet Explorer.

That's why when I update Flash Player 10 on a Windows 7 machine that the ActiveX control is updated first, then maybe a day or two later, I'll do another update to install the Flash plugin?  How is it that they don't are not updated at the same time?  I can download the executable Flash in Safari in Windows and update the plugin manually.  Generally, I look in programs and features, and the ActiveX control is the first update.

Because the ActiveX and plugin are two different installers.

  • question about updates

Hello. I hope someone can help me with this little problem I'm having.

I had some difficulties at the time with the SP1 update. When it is installed I could not access to the internet (internet explore kept closing). I uninstalled SP1 and everything worked fine. Then I tried to reinstall the SP1 update again and it completely messed up my pc. I couldn't get anything on the screen, except a message that the computer was trying to repair itself.

The final result was having to call a dell technician who has done to restore my pc to factory settings.

OK... I left then the computer download and install updates on its own (like the tech suggested) and everything worked great until this SP1 update became available. He says that its available for installation, but he won't do it on his own also by parameters, so now I wonder why it will not install on its own, and if I click install the SP1 update is he going to wreak havoc on my pc as before?

Hi MowGreen. I checked and you were right because it did not completely downloaded. I only finished with 386 mb downloaded. I deleted everything I downloaded and ordered the installation of SP1 disc.

Good. While you wait for SP1 coming, suggest that you run the Disk Defragmenter and check hard disk with disk check errors.

I'm sorry about the copy of the file that I'm not sure how to move a file.

There are several ways to move files. One of them being the use of the * right * click.
Left , you can click on a file to highlight, then you click on file and drag and drop it to a location of your choice, then choose the option to move as opposed to the copy one.

In any case, I want to thank you for all the help you gave me this problem. I will wait as the installation disc and try to get installed in this way.

Have a nice day and good luck to you.

You are most welcome, and here's hoping that the installation went smoothly. If you are having problems, suggest you post to the
Forum Windows Vista Service Packs since this will be a manual installation of an SP vs using Windows Update to install it.

  • Can I remove old security updates for Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows XP out of my control panel to give me more space?

In my control panel, I have about 50 updates to security of Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows XP.  Keep Microsoft sending me error messages saying that I need to delete some of my programs in my control panel, so my System Restore so that they are able to track or undo harmful replaces my e asking me to free more disk space by removing programs that I don't use.  Can I delete some old updates of security out of my control panel?

    Hi RamonaBrooks,

No, you should not remove installed Windows updates as they are supposed to be there on the computer. In this case, you get low disk space messages, try the following.

Method 1: Run this utility of automated troubleshooting and see if it helps.

Difficulty of broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks

I had problems too with IE9 and it's updates... as you say all the other updates work I don't think that the Windows Update the question... is IE itself... IMHO...

For days, I was getting the BSOD and it became progressively worse as the days passed... Now, I have all stable and works very well yet.

If my suggestion for you is what I did... sort the problem at the source the progam in other - IE there is a form of corruption imho.

First download and save IE9 to your download folder make sure you have the correct version, for example English Vista 64-bit

Uninstall the current version... you may have to restart... I suggest you only do it anyway... It is cleaner that way. Then reinstall IE. I suggest that you set up with as few add on the as possible and add them at a later date, as and when you need it, preferably one at a time.

Once you have reinstalled IE and restarted the kickoff of Windows Update If you have not automatically set to run... and I think that it will update the update of security OK.

Good luck - let me know

  • MS11-057: a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (KB2559049) + software updates fails SCCM

    Morning Microsoft,.

I am facing a problem in my office environment (Windows XP SP3, Internet Explorer 7, software Trusteer report is NOT installed). We are trying to deploy a package to update all the post-SP3 XP critical and security patches and have problems with the update above.

We use the SCCM synchronized with our server WSUS software update to deploy updates and it works very well in most parts.

However this particular update appears to install (that is listed in Add/Remove Programs) However whenever the client checks for updates Windows he sees this as available, download, try to install it and indicates that a reboot is required... After a reboot, he's stuck in this cycle, each time that the client checks a Scan software deployment.
