• PXI Questions - trigger and save the Communication function

  I would like to use the VISA API for working with modules in my chassis SMU-1062 q. I have installed the following modules in the chassis:

  1 NI PXI-5102 (scope)

  2 NI PXI-5402 (fgen)

  Instruments based on the registry as PXI modules are new to me for example I only worked with instruments of message in office until now. I had a number of questions on how to work with these appliances with VISAS, let me start by two of the most pressing problems for me right now:

  1. I don't understand how material trigger works in a PXI chassis. For example, if I'm working with the PXI-5402 (fgen) and I want to make a hardware trigger on TTL0 that the PXI-5102 (scope) can listen, how to configure it? What I see in the NI-VISA support, the VI_ATTR_TRIG_ID attribute allows you to specify the trigger line of material (TTL0 - TTL7) for a device. Once this is done, I'm supposed to (apparently) use the function:

  viAssertTrigger

  with the value: VI_TRIG_PROT_RESERVE

  in order to 'book' in the line. It is clear to me as agglomerates that produces a trigger on TTL0. At this point, I guess if I wanted to the PXI-5102 to be triggered by the TTL0, then I put the VI_ATTR_TRIG_ID in TTL0 for this camera as well? In addition, what is the difference between the implementation of VI_ATTR_TRIG_ID in TTL0 for the device (INSTR resource) against the implementation of VI_ATTR_TRIG_ID to TTL0 to the chassis (substantive resource of BASKET). What happens when I use viAssertTrigger in each case?

  2. my other question concerns using the PXI modules using ONLY VISA orders (I rather not use NISCOPE and NIFGEN at the level of the API). I understand how to use ViPeekN (16.etc, N = 8) and ViPokeN for reading and writing to/from the registry of PXI Configuration. What I don't understand how to use functions such as ViMoveIn, ViMoveOut etc to run modules, for example, make the PXI-5402 generate a sine wave. In other words, where can I find an explanation of how to order the PXI modules and send data using the API of VISA. It seems that I need documentation that explains how to issue orders of these devices from the registry, which brings à la carte, at the place where to read data from the etc.

  So, we have the following here the use case...

  Background:

  We have a FMS instance that has several teams using multiple applications, air conditioned and have their own specific communication needs. Teams of infrastructure, such as the database or Server team are also included on this FMS. We have services configured around applications and their dependencies, so a single object will exist in several services.

  To work around the lack of granularity configuration and horrible the service-based E-mail in the form, I created an event rule that queries for FSMServices affected for a given event and iterates over all the unique services, pulling on the notification settings through our way of soil and trigger Actions from the command line or appropriate accordingly EmailActions... we use of the-d in the field of shortDesc service options.

  We have teams who want notification on certain rules of certain severities (such as criticism), but not others.   We will create a new cartridge (FoglightCommunication) that contains a custom dashboard and the definition of the topology for a FSMServiceConfig object. This object contains a white list or black list for some rules should be provided for each service. This TopologyObject would also resume functionality which serve as my current shortDesc variables... Essentially, it would contain all THE information relevant to its corresponding FSMService object configuration. We have experience in creating modules advanced both in the creation of Foglight cartridge/agents/topology definitions.

  The dashboard would exist to facilitate the configuration of this new object and to facilitate the visualization of the current communication service. This would also allow our team to allow the teams less educated with Foglight feature more easily and completely configure their own communication service. Empowering the team owner is always a good thing

  My Question:

  Did someone in the quest (it's such a name cooler than Dell) sees a problem with this? My only concern is that we could lose all our configuration information to uninstall the cartridge for a upgrade problem. He might consider a work around with an option to export/import... but it's a messy solution and a non-human evidence. Is there a way to specify the data to be persisted, even if the cartridge that has defined this topology definition is uninstalled?

  Hi Adam.

  This looks like a very useful customization. I don't see why your team should not move forward with that.

  I also like the idea of building an import/export feature in your cartridge in order to preserve the configurations in case you need to uninstall the cartridge. Note that even in this case, type of custom topology that was written to the repository data Foglight will always be there (i.e. it will not be served unless you specifically request this) - so you can be able to get Foglight to save the configuration information important for you.

  I encourage you to update the community on your progress on this and send questions, screencaps, etc., as needed.

  Since there is a almost impossible to contact Adobe Support, and when you can contact them on some apparently secret phonenumber, they prove themselves totally, totally useless, I might as well ask my question here.

  Online, I can see our license keys. We have 2 single-machine-keys and volume license from 1 to 10 machines (for the Design Premium). How can I tell the difference between these two types of keys?

  My second and more importantly, it is How can I match the different installed machines for license keys we?

  We really need to know this for a reinstalling of a repaired computer and chart of our machines and their corresponding license keys.

  Any help from the community would be much appreciated, it's a real shame this software which costs several thousand euros can offer no support whatsoever.

  I did not know in what this post sub-forum, is obviously not just for dreamweaver, but for CS5 Design Premium and Web Premium CS5.

  When you install the drivers, you must right click on the EXE file and choose "Run as Administrator".

  You should also temporarily disable your security software or reconfigure it to allow the file system.
