  • How can I actually protect the operating system of my computer?

At the time when I turn on my computer there is what is supposed to be "updated" something MicroSoft.  In other words, someone just hacked into my
computer and is committed to change the operating system on my computer.  I would like to prevent this.  How then?

It is probably not a hacker but instead MS just the things you really need to update as a security update.

You can disable updates, but it will more vulnerable and lead to instability.

  • How can I reinstall the original operating system was on my Fujitsu Lifebook without the CD?

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook series S, model S7211, and I had a bug on the computer, so I had to reinstall the OS, but my computer never came with a disc as it was a gift, so I had to install another OS that was intended for another computer, a DELL computer. I noticed right away that some of the functions that the computer was previously working is no longer, and it doesn't bother me at first, but now my computer seems to run slower, and I wanted to find a way to reinstall the original OS. I have the product key, but I can't find a way to download Windows Vista business on the Windows website.

Can someone direct me to a download link or the part of the windows Web site I where can I enter my product key and to create a disk so I can install it?

    Hello

You cannot use a Dell disk on a Fujitsu laptop.

There are several ways to reinstall Vista, see what you can use..

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there may always be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    Jackson DonnaWoods Hello,

    It is a scam.

Unless you have a contract to support prepaid with Microsoft, Microsoft doesn't call you, email you, or snail mail you about problems with your PC.

I would certainly follow the advice of John John, because we do not know what happened when your wife has visited the Web site. By the way, I suggest you also change your password, sign in to your office computer and passwords associated with banking online, networking sites etc..

  • several operating systems on my laptop... I installed two windows 7 operating systems... How to remove the old operating system.

    Hello

I installed windows 7 on my laptop but it did not work properly. Still, I installed windows 7 but it did not drive partitions.

It will automatically take the disk partitions. program files recent operating system (windows 7) are in the D drive.

    I have two questions.

    1. How do I uninstall the previous windows 7 (these program files are in the C drive).

    2. how windows 7 current (drive D) program files in the C drive.

    Please help with these issues.

    Thanking you.

Sorry, you can't move the current from D: to C: operating system because the registry contains countless references to D: all would be wrong.

Removal of unwanted operating system is possible, but risky. It is best done by an expert who has the necessary experience and tools. He would need them in case the machine becomes unbootable longer after cleaning.

Your best bet is to start all over again. Back up your data, and then let the drive be formatted during the installation process.

  • My school (Washington State University - site Angel) appears as "Untrusted" and I can't access any of the content, how do I get around this?

I get an error "this connection is untrusted" when I connect to the website of my school and therefore can not access all of the content, that I need for my class. It is a new problem, I just had to reinstall Mozilla when I upgraded my hard drive, it worked two days ago, but not today. Does anyone know why this would happen, or how I can get around this? The only option that is imparted to me is of ' get out me of here! "which is the exact opposite of what I need to do.

Check the date and time of the clock on your computer: (double) click on the clock icon in the Windows taskbar.

Find out why the site is not approved, then click on "Technical Details to expand this section.
If the certificate is not reliable because no issuer channel was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) and then see if you can install the intermediate certificate from another source.

You can retrieve the certificate and check details such as WHO issued the certificates and the expiration dates of certificates.

    • Click on the link at the bottom of the error page: "I understand the risks".

Let Firefox recover the certificate: "Add Exception"-> "get certificate".

    • Click on the "view..." button. "and inspect the certificate and the Coachman, who is the issuer of the certificate.

You can see more details like the intermediate certificates that are used in the details pane.

If "I understand the risks" is missing, this page can be opened in a (i) frame and in this case, try the shortcut menu and use "Frame this: Open image in New Tab".

Note that some firewall monitors connections (sure) and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the certificate of the Web site.

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I wish I had some good news for you, but I did not...

Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.

Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This means that the stock HP is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.

Given that HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

  • How update without the original operating system?

I recently had to buy a hard drive for my counter top. I did this do not know that the operating system was not on it. I returned to Best Buys and the geek squad guy told me that with the new drive hard I have to install the operating system. Because I didn't it was suggested to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. Did not say anything else, so I bought a program two cents of dollar only to find out that this program is for an upgrade and not a new drive. Now I can't turn it on at all. Can someone please? Can I take that back and negotiate it? I'm not sure.
