Hello

All the movies I have are saved in mpeg or avi format and there is no problem to watch on my Toshiba TV. To be honest I m not tested mkv files.

  • Question of DLNA

I just got a surround sound blueray/home cinema sound for Christmas.  I wanted to find a way to play music on the home theater using the Droid X wireless.  It seems that this is possible, but I'm running into a problem.    I have the currently connected to my home network and its recognized at both the network and when I use DLNA on my phone and go to share media > media > motorola phone > select media > then choose a device to use to read the 'BluRay home cinema system' appears, but when I chose this option "the remote device rejected the connection request. , code:-605 "error came.   Anyone have advice on that.  Otherwise know of any support I can get help from?

Well, never mind, I managed to do the work.  Had an adapter connected to the blueray once I pulled the wireless connection, wireless and ethernet it worked.  Mean you when this app works fantastic sound!

You will need to check the option: + Subtitle + type

I guess this isn't taken in charge by using DLNA

I have found no information about the DTS :(

instead of my PC, I can play my files on TV

Is - my BDP-780 is not DLNA compatible with Windows 8?

I strictly followed the instructions of Windows to configure my network...

    Hello Nicolas,.

Welcome to the community of Sony.

The BDPS780 Blu - ray player is compatible for the streaming of files of Windows 8 computer via DLNA.

The DLNA function works by using the Windows 8 operating system, if the parameter is set to desktop mode. To work, select the setting in Office mode if you are using the new Windows User Interface (UI).

Make sure that the firewall on the router settings do not prevent the media server to the client machine.

Follow the steps mentioned on the underside of the base article of knowledge.

  • Pre-sales questions ReadyNAS104

I was reseaching NAS solutions for my home. I watched pretty much every video and the web page, but I think I've confused ND. I am interested in the ReadyNAS104 without a hard drive.

My home network is composed of Mac/Linux/Windows. To begin, I would like to start with 1 hard drive. Is this possible? Assuming that Yes, I understand that there will be no data protection. I think that from what I've seen, all of my computers will be able to read or write to the NAS. Can I set up folders separated for multiple users, access private or shared depending on the user and share? A document I've seen specific that the 104 can support up to 16 TB of data, another 24 TB. Which is correct? This will determine the size of my disk (4 or 6 TB).

When I add the second disc, the 104 will be copied or JBOD, correct? With a third disc, I'll be able to do other RAID levels? Is it possible to have several volumes, also included in a RAID configuration?

I saw documents on the DLNA/SD 480 and 1080 HD. If I understand correctly, the 104 will not high levels of video leak? But my Samsung Smart TV will be able to see the action, and I'll be able to watch my movies?

How the expansion is provided (IE by network or USB)?

Within RAID level configurations, I would be able to use for example a 1 to a 2 TB, a 3 and a 4 TB drive?

Finally, this unit can serve as my Time Machine backup?

Thanks for any info provided in advance. I hope that my questions were not confused?

    Walter

    1. Yes, you may startout with a hard drive

    2. Yes, you can set up separate, private or shared folders. For private folders, you can use the feature of private home shares

    3. When we released everything first he 16TB volumes were the maximum supported. If you update 6.4.0 (or later first) you can now have more volumes of 16 TB. So if you start with a 6 TB drive I would 6.4.0 (or later), check the update of the firmware successfully, then do a factory default (erases all the data, settings, everything) because it is a new configuration for a clean installation on this firmware

    4. It will be RAID-1 mirror, Yes. X - RAID won't JBOD when you add the second drive. When the third disc is added using X-RAID, you will have a 3 drive RAID-5 volume. If you want something different you can disable X-RAID under Volumes, destroy the existing volume - if it is already using this drive (NOTE destroying volume DESTROYS your data, in order to back up your data first) and create the volumes that you want.

    5. The 104 can stream 1080 p, but what he can't do is video transcoding of any resolution. If she can broadcast your video as it's your customer then it will be. Otherwise the video will not play.

    6. You can share USB drives on your network. There is no expansion of hunts for the 104. If you need more space than what will fit on the unit, that the best solution would be to get another unit or replace your drives with higher capacity ones (if there are higher capacity disks)

    7. Using X-RAID disks that you add must have at least the same capacity as the disks. With X-RAID disabled, you can create a volume on any disk you add.

    8. Yes, you can use this to hold the backups Time Machine on your Mac. You can use the Global Time Machine function or have spent Time Machine backup files for each user.

  • DLNA in WinXP client with Panasonic player

I configured on a Panasonic DMR-XW390 set - top box dlna and tries to play its videos on my Windows XP desktop. The Panasonic box see my PC (displays its MAC address) and ping successfully the Panasonic PC, but Windows Player 11 see no device when I go to the "media sharing" - which I think is how I connect to function as a client. (I have running on the desktop SSDP Protocol).

Some (not all) saved hard disk digital copies of films (and some movie directories) are not displayed when you access via DLNA devices. Movies are stored on a separate hard drive. Have sharing enabled for directories and each film. All films and directories are visible on the PC (lunder library, computer and network) and will play using Microsoft Media Player. What Miss me?

This really sounds like a problem on DLNA devices where they can only read
only 'X' deep and can not handle nested folders.

  • Problem DLNA? -Windows 7 Professional PC can't see Panasonic DMR-BW780

As seen in the last 2 years bought a Panasonic TX - P42V20B TV and DMR - BW780 Blu - ray DVR, I have since been faced with DLNA and try to get to the bottom of the equipment and features. However, I failed to get to work to my satisfaction and I don't know if it's my lack of understanding or misinformation that I receive. I have overcome most of the difficulties at the beginning, one of those who has been not being able to see the content of the PC on the TX-P42V20B which resolved some time ago. However, I am still not able to access the content of the DMR-BW780 from my PC. I can do it from my DLNA compatible Panasonic TX-P42V20B obviously (and also my Sony 32EX403 TV which is a DMP and a DMR), but I can't do it through my Windows 7 Professional WMP 12 DLNA server that is I believe compatible DMC, DMS and DMR. Windows 7 has been implemented for the residential/networking group. He can see and playing the audio, photo and video from my laptop and laptop, so I think I should be able to read the DMR-BW780 content through my PC and even transferred the recordings of the RECORDER to the PC. However, in Windows 7 "computer - network ' DMR-BW780 appears as a"device"rather than a device of 'media '. This is why I can't access the stored content. I don't know if it is the root of the problem, but would like your advice on how to tackle the problem.

First of all can you confirm that you have followed all of the steps for
that the DMR has an IP address on the same network as the computer (and them are
    They wired / wireless connections)

I also was curious about this device and it looked on DLNA.org and found the
CERT and file formats supported are apparently the jpeg and mpeg. I have also
the guide of the user for the DMR and found

    DLNA function
You can enjoy video and still images recorded on
the HARD drive of this device on the DLNA compatible hardware
    connected via a network.
