  It has nothing to do with where you live. You are on a 32-bit system and LR CC is only available in 64-bit, so CC provides the previous version. It is that easy. You can read the system requirements and then act accordingly.

  I tried several times tonight to download and install the new version of Lightroom, but every time I got the following error message when MAO tries to install the new version:

  The Exit Code 7 errors seem to be mainly due to the support of OS during installation.

  Here are the specs for Lightroom 5 tech include minimum required operating system (Mac 10.7 or later/Win 7 SP1 and later versions).

  Even if you were able to install the beta LR5 on Vista, Vista was never listed as an OS support on the Labs page and the requirement of the BONE has not been applied hard. With the official version, officially operating systems supported are the same, but we have just hard to enforce the minimum specifications.

  I just got my 5 Lightroom on Amazon and finds it difficult to install on my computer.  I confirmed that I required current operating systems.  Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.  When I insert the disc in my drive on the computer does not recognize it.  The disc does not rotate again.  I tried a few other discs that I had to hang out with photos and documents on them and these discs makes to the computer to turn around and then open the programs required to open the PDF files or documents.  Any reason why my computer can not recognize this drive?  Even when I click on my computer and go to the DVD player, if I click on it, he invites me to insert a CD, even if the lightroom CD is currently in the computer.  When I look at the back of the CD I don't see the tell tale signs of having content on the CD.  Usually, I can see an area of the disc which may not be information about it so there is a distinction between the areas at the back of the drive.  The disc I received seems to be completely uniform on his back.  Would it be possible that there is nothing on this drive?  There is a serial number on the box that the disc came in.   Any help or advice would be appreciated.  I can't wait to start with the program and phone support will not be opened until after the weekend.

  If you use Windows Explorer to open the drive, you should see an installation executable that you can run. But to save time, here's the link to the latest version, the trial version. Install it and when the trial screen appears, select the option stating that you have a number series and entered the serial number provided in your Kit. You will then have the full version of Lightroom running on your system.

  I better 3.6 LR LR 4.1 on my laptop Windows 7 with 8 gigs ram. I need to free up space on my internal hard drive, so I'm moving my images on an external hard drive 1 t, connected via usb 2.0, unfortunately.

  • question 1: is - it matter in which order I do the above? In other words, should I do the upgrade to 4.1 first and then move my images/catalog to the external hard drive or do I move my pictures and then upgrade?

  I've heard of how LR 4.1 is slower than LR 3.6, so I am, a little worried about performance.

  • question 2: someone at - it specific advice on the LR configuration for best performance in light of my files is stored on the external hard drive via USB 2?

  (I use this computer for web surfing and image programs.) Not to mention LR, I have also run Camera Raw, PS CS 5 and Premiere Elements. I thought I'd do two images of catalogs-again I suggest to hd and film ext clips that I want to keep on the internal hard drive. Who is? )

  It is slower for some people and not slower for others. I don't think that anyone in these forums has understood what the reason is for slow on some computers. The only thing you can do is try it on your computer. Moreover, as I have read, in Lightroom performance problems are unrelated to USB 2.

  Nope, several catalogues never made sense to me. You simply reduce your effectiveness by having several catalogues here. A catalog is easier, this way you won't have to switch back, you never wind up importing in the wrong catalog, you can search through all your photos and videos, etc. A catalog is the way to go.

  No need to install Lightroom 1 6 of Lightroom.

  During the installation process, enter first the LR 6 serial number and then when prompted enter qualifying previous version serial number, that's all.

  No need to install the older version of the app in order to install the latest version.

  I can't boot into Windows at all. I didn't save my data (stupid!).

  Expert mode allows you to do two things:
  1 install OS already persistent partition (if the HARD disk already has two of them)
  2. create own partition (in this case all of the content is deleted)

  Please try to start in safe mode (press F60). If this doesn't help, you can track to save your data:
  1. connect the HARD drive to the other PC as external device (using the box USB HDD)
  the disk HARD should be recognized automatically and you can copy your data to another disk HARD of PC
  2. you can try to use Partition Magic tool. Start by using the external floppy drive and create two partitions. After doing this start your laptop with discus throw and try to copy all the data on the second partition.
