  Hi all

  Hoping a pro can help me with this problem.  Currently enrolled in a course of certification animation accelerated online and need help to know how I can get Photoshop to enliven my digitized characters and backgrounds.

  Of course, the background is digitized and put first; It is a scene of hand-painted watercolor.  I then added my animated through the analysis and using Place related character cells.  But when I create video Timeline, the character scanned, if set to 100% opacity allows no bottom project through, but only shows the character on a white background.  If I change the opacity on each cell of animation from character (layer) to about 59% of 35%, background through projects, but the characters and background look washed out.

  Asked my teacher on this subject, but she said the characters hand-drawn must be traced in Photoshop as a line drawing.  Is this true?  If so, how should I do this?

  I don't want to have to re - draw / paint for each cell, and I don't want the washed look of the opacity to balance; don't know what I can do to keep the opportunism, but both results; desired all suggestions, advice, tips and tricks has greeted with complete satisfaction!

  I think you want to create an animation timeline image not a chronology of the video. You want the visible background layer in all the frames and your layers of character must have their removed background.  This means that each layer place character must be hidden to remove the white background.  If they are good scans with own contiguous white backgrounds that can be relatively easy by selecting the background adjacent white invert the selection and add the selection as a mask layer...  You may need to enlarge the selection reversed a pixel or two before you add it as a layer mask...

  I draw the old-fashioned... way pencil/pen and paper, then search in Photoshop usually digital top own and coloring. I wonder if Illustrator CC 2015? or Photoshop CC 2015 is preferable to trace the digital work. It should be clean for the publication.   There is no absolute answer to your questions. Illustrator and Photoshop are perfect for different types of work. It depends on if you need vector or if the bitmap is fine.

  According to your original work in pencil, you can even find "auto-tracing" would be a good choice. You've already invested in a Wacom tablet. It is very good and it will be very useful.   You cannot delete the startup screen because it is compiled into the program and is not a single bitmap.   You push your CPU to its limits with 3 GB of Ram running image editing products. As you can see the document that you opened is 860 + Mb and your Ram is about 3000 MB.

  Photoshop system requirements , it is recommended to have 8 GB of Ram for optimal performance. But that seems not to be the origin of the problem here, just a recommendation.

  Have you changed the CMYK color space voluntarily? Try to change it to RGB and see if that helps.

  I don't have the chance to try it.  2 days after I posted my question here, I tried installing again and it worked fine.  I don't know what was different the third time was the charm, but we are upward and going.

• JPG files saved in Photoshop CC 2015 errors in file suffix?

  I use Lightroom and Photoshop CC 2015 on my MacBook Pro retina, Intel i7, OS 10.11.2, 768 GB SSD, 16 GB of Ram.  When I'm done with a PSB, TIFF or NEF editing tool, and I write 'Online', I decrease the bit in 8bits depth, flatten the Image, Assign sRGB Color Space and finally do a ' Save As'filename' JPG.

  
  

  About 1/2 of the pictures have something wrong with the JPG suffix so that they can be brought online!  They can be placed in emails, Flickr', Craigslist or eBay.

  Even Photoshop don't reopen, calling for an "unknown file format"!

  
  

  Images appear in their appropriate folders, each with the suffix '.jpg '. In the 'Finder' Mac I have to 'Get Info' on each image, change the suffix CPS, then reopen in Photoshop!  THEN I repeat all the steps above, then make a new "Save as" with the same name and the same file, prompting a question to 'replace the file. 

  I answer YES and now the Omnium JPG correctly!

  I don't know if it's important, but make sure your CC 2015 is up-to-date as well.  2015.1.1 is the current version.

  In fact, what happens when you install ACR 9.3.1 on a system with CS6/9.1.1 and CC-2015/9.1.1?  The installer works through ok, or is there an error message?  No matter if the CS6 is installed through the CC app/previous media vs an original CS6 network Versions, where the cloud installed version is somehow more integrated in the world of CC?

  And maybe you want to uninstall CS6 and CC and update CS6 the program completely and ACR, then install PS - CC 2015 and update all the way.  Or maybe you want to install CC 2015 and get it to update, and then install previous Versions section CS6 in the CC application but that's maybe what you did.

  I have two CC-2015 and the CS6 installed from the CC app.
