Question of PDF export - missing (not gel background question)

Hello

Currently, having some problems with the export to PDF from Indesign CS5. When I export the first page (which is based on a master page) the majority of the content gets cut - so it's pictures, colored boxes and stroke and a barcode. (Top image)

When I cut the master page content and paste it on a standard page, then it prints out ok (Image down), but we cannot reasonably do it every time. It's not only in a single document that its happened - she has produced with many of our documents and on several computers.

I have checked the forum and troubleshooting, have crossed and serves as the document level and ask any troubleshooting help. http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/499/cpsid_49998.html#main_DocumentLevel

I have read the various messages about background jobs that is not the issue that it is actually export it and its fine.

Have rebooted the machine, rechecked updates, checked if it is a damaged document (it's not from what I can tell)

Tried to export without pictures (ignore the OPI) with the same results.

Have checked the transpency question (that contain transparency but no results).

So thinking that it must be something to do with master pages, but I have no idea what.

We use an external plug in for barcodes for CS4, who does not work for CS5, so I removed the code bar to see if that was harming her, but again no luck.

Just to confirm that we are currently running

Adobe CS5 on our computers - we run all the updates for Adobe Acrobat Pro (9.4) and for the whole of CS5.

Its running on iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.6.4

Adobe CS4 was uninstalled and not written off so no interference there.

Can someone help me out here or recommend something?

Thanks in advance.

Just looking through the release notes for the 7.0.3 updated and other bug fixes listed is "Images in a group on a master page of abandonment during the export in PDF format [2705316] *" which could mean you should update and try again.

  • Hyperlinks in PDF any works not in the export in PDF format

I created an ad in InDesign using hyperlinks. I export this announcement as PDF and hypertext links are working fine. Import the PDF file in my magazine in InDesign. Then, when I export the magazine in PDF format, the links in the PDF file do not work.

Other hyperlinks works very well. Hyperlinks in other imported PDFs work very well. It doesn't matter if the imported PDF document is linked or embedded. I also tried to import just the INDD file, but that no longer works.

    What Miss me?

(I use the most up-to-date CC InDesign on Windows 8) I use Print PDF rather than interactive PDF).

What Steve has said is true. Links to not carry on when a file is placed into InDesign, in this way. Bob also noted that be recognized hyperlinks only implied that Acrobat can detect. One solution would be to draw an empty frame on the top link in InDesign, convert it to a button and set it to the GoToURL action and enter the url. This in fact will have an impact on when exporting to PDF, as long as you have the hyperlink check box selected.

  • . Linked PSD placed behind the text block. Does not appear in the PDF export?

So, I have an image as a .psd in my spread which is behind a block of text and a low opacity to ensure readability. However, when I export to PDF, it does not appear in the final file. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT: now I found a work around using a PNG exported from Photoshop instead of the original file. Would be really nice to be able to use the PSD so if changes are to be made to the image, it can be easily updated.

    Hi Justin,

HM, then you must make a tough decision, your only choice to be on the "safe" side

Export to PDF v1.3 (Compatibility Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) where you check "simulate overprinting" in the fourth tab of the settings of export PDF.

This workflow is not recommended for PDF files you want to print:

    Just for the screen display!

Then all the 'overlay' and 'transparency' is cooked in the PDF file so to speak.

  • Foreign characters do not projection in pdf export

I have this Š of character that seems to show good in ID but when I export it as a pdf it does not show. Any ideas or help would be very appreciated. • How to make a PDF export to HTML

    Hi all!

I am currently trying to export a PDF to epub.

EPUB is what I understand sort of html. So if you get a good export in format html you are sorted.

I use XI Acrobat pro, but if you have another suggestion I'm all ears.

After handled html or PDF I use calibre to export to epub.

There are a lot of problems and if you know the answer to the only one I would be very grateful!

My pdf have tables, images with text (not embedded in the image) and boxes with another background with text in them. but above all, it is a two-column document.

    Issues related to the:

    1. the images in the PDF are made up of elements of text and photo. Is there a way to convert text and image into a png image so that they don't get screwed up in the conversion?         I can select all, but I do not know if I need to export all, and then put everything back that would be a hassle because the pdf has a lot of pages.

    2. the tables do not play nice. I have in my pdf document of the pictures that end up as a vertical line when I export the document in html and txt or try to directly convert pdf to epub form. is it possible to edit tables in acrobat so that they are exported as a table when you export as html?

    3. sometimes the my document does not export to a txt properly. is there a way to tell acrobat in what order the text must be exported?

    4. it is a little close to the previous question: re-flow, is possible to re-flow a pdf to go in two columns to one and tell acrobat in what order should be made. This is where the photos should go and tables and so forth.

5 to get a round formatting issues is there a way to export only the text and the images and tables.

6 fonts: my pdf consists of several fonts. Is there a way to select all the text in a document based on the color of font or fonts then I would be able to change this text in the font that I want.

    7. I have a table of contents at the beginning of the file with links to the different sections of the pdf file, but I don't know how to make these useful. I would like that they as bookmarks. is there a good process for this.

    Thanks for your help!

People have made this mistake for almost 20 years, since Acrobat 1.0. The error is: I want to convert 'X' to 'Y '. I can convert PDF and PDF 'X' on 'Y' - job done! As you've found, it's a terrible way to work. The fact is that most just PDF files do not contain the required information. For example, most PDF files have tables. They have some text here, a text here - a few lines. We see a table, Acrobat (and other software) struggles. We see columns, Acrobat can see just text and lines. Similarly, we know that is an image, it's his legend, which is a title and is a page number. And so on.

Everything you did the PDF from - go back to that. If you have any earlier version, then convert the PDF into Word or InDesign - something that makes epub - and begin the long process of creating the structure and flow you need.

  • Bad display quality PDF - export to AutoCAD

My goal is to effectively publish my drawings of the multi of AutoCAD Map to a single PDF file for e-mailing to my clients who do not have AutoCAD and want to open a PDF file on their device of choice.

The file should look like it will print seen on the screen of the client with any what Viewer PDF (web or desktop) and it must have a sufficient resolution for printing on paper 11 x 17, without loss of quality.

The problem I have is with my Appendix at the end of my output document pages.

The appendix is made from the material data sheets (files to PDF in AutoCAD) and framed by my title block, and some PDF files appear badly on the screen. (Some of them display wrong but fine print, but is not a acceptable deliverable to my customer).

Seems a perfectly good Source PDF for the last page of the manufacturer: http://Unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/BSK-PDF-Manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.PDF

If you zoom in you can see, it is a raster image, but there must be something not-so-good happening results to look so bad when the source is perfectly readable.

Drawing attention to the last page where the problem lies:

Here is a screenshot of the last page of this file read through the PDF of Google Drive Viewer: http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB

This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post of AutoCAD LT 2015 on my mac with the latest OS: El Capitan 10.11.4

    https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/9cd47e59-ded0-470A-ADAC-6aed8cc10338

This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post from 2014 AutoCAD on my PC for Windows 10

    https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/c2ad141b-E1BC-4C18-A52A-fbe09537df38

This file is 1/5th the size of that produced by my mac but still as bad the last page displays.

    To summarize:

Question 1) 5 x greater PDF export from the Mac version of AutoCAD

Question 2) terribly screen display of some PDF files when PDF raster sources are set in the AutoCAD file.

I won't pretend to know if this is a bug with AutoDesk product or Adobe, so I reported the problem to the two companies.

Adobe: Let me know if there is anything more I can give you to help you determine and solve this problem.

I have downloaded and open the files that you pointed to.

    Observations.

    (1) none of the questions here are associated with Adobe products. With any component Acrobat PDF files were not created.

    (2) the file created from AutoCAD on Mac OS is entirely to 600 dpi color raster Imaging by using ZIP compression, on the other hand, the file created from AutoCAD under Windows uses text and vector where possible with compressed lossy JPEG raster images. This explains the huge difference in size (and ironically quality - the smaller file is better)!

    (3) the pages of http://unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.pdf are in fact images JPEG2000 compressed at 150 dpi with no text and no vector. Even if Adobe desktop and mobile software PDF has no problem with raster JPEG2000 images, various third-party viewers are not so robust. The artifacts you see via http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB are likely due to a weak implementation of JPEG2000. JPEG high quality or compression ZIP (Flate) would have eliminated this particular problem!

  • CMYK blunt PDF exported despite being the same profiles

    Hello

I hope someone can help me. I created work in Photoshop using the same profiles CMYK as what I use in Indesign, and yet I still end up with a dull PDF when exporting. I can't work on why I get a color difference when profiles are exactly the same?

Here are the settings I used in Photoshop:

    Designed in CMYK mode:

Context: the versatile 2 North America

CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2

    > Work recorded in flattened TIFF (I tried both with "Embed color profile" checked and unchecked)

Here are the settings I used in Indesign:

Context: the versatile 2 North America

CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2

Color management: CMYK: preserve numbers (ignore linked profiles)

Profile mismatches: ask when opening ticked (no incompatibilities have been bought to my attention during the placement of my CMYK image, or when you open the document saved again once with my CMYK image)

Here are the settings I used when exporting as a PDF (I have not changed the default settings):

    Print quality

    Convert to destination (preserve numbers)

Destination: Document CMYK: us Web Coated (SWOP) v2

Profile inclusion policy: do not include profiles

For me, all my color settings alike, and yet I still get a dull PDF as the result. Is there something that I am missing? I've attached an example here.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

  • CS6 InDesign exporting do not doc to do anything

I have a catalog design created in InDesign that I had for about a year and updated twice for the company - this time I can't export.

InDesign will stop the export when it comes to spread 94/95 and gives me an error message:

I tried with swf files and flash files and still - there must be something wrong on this page on the doc.

    Please can someone help.

If you can PDF at until this spread and PDF then just after at the end of the document, I would start by doing this. When you are finished, you can attach PDFs with Acrobat. Regarding the spread in question, it could be any number of things from fonts to images of a bug in the file. If you have already tried to save opening that as Fadabi1 suggested, you can try to make a new document and moving all the pages to him with the Pages palette and IDML. If it does not either, you eliminate things until you find the problem.

The thing the faster to check are the pages themselves. Zoom so that you cannot see any workspace on the spread in question, select it with the Selection tool and remove. Do something on each page (this would be a simple line, the shape or the text) and export to PDF format. If it works, you know that the pages are not the problem. If it doesn't work, there is a bug on the page. The best thing to do is to restore saved, make a new spread of 2 pages just before or just after, move all the items to the dissemination of new and delete the old spread. It's the least likely problem, but the fastest to check.

Then, try to remove all type and try the export. If it exports with only the images, the problem is of type. To track what font is the problem, go to Type > find font and change the fonts for something that you know is good. Try the export again and if she won't go, go back and change a different font for something you know works. If you have a lot of fonts in the file and you want to pair it down faster, change half of the fonts instead of one. If this does not work, go and check the other half. What that half does not work, continue to divide the list in half until you find the one that is causing the failure. Many times it is a paragraph wandering back the end of a line with a different font than the rest of the paragraph uses.

If, on the other hand, remove all type still does not work, it is probably an image. Go back and delete all the images and see if you can export it. You essentially use the same method of elimination of images until the PDF exports, and whatever one is the last one is the problem. You can remove them in halves the way you did with the fonts. When you find the image that is causing the problem, try to open it in the program that created it and re-record. Sometimes it will work if re-record creates a new view. If it does not and you have the ability to save without preview, give a try, but it will be harder to work with. If all else fails, see if you can swap this image for something else.

Keep in mind that there could be more than one thing preventing export. If you get to the end and nothing has worked, you can try to make a new document by copying one at a time and sticking them each on its own page in the new document points. Which will make it easier to find the item that is the problem, that this page is not PDF. Blocks of text with multiple fonts would be harder to identify with this method, but it's something to try if nothing else works.

  • accounts locked messaging iPhone 6 + missing, missing notes, iCloud email? !

    Hi all

I'm desperate for more help please.

I have an iPhone 6 + 128 GB running iOS 9.3.4. I just noticed in the last few days or all my notes and all but one of my email accounts have disappeared from my device and I can't seem to get back them! I have travelled abroad (in Greece) for the last four weeks and noticed the question while I was there, but decided to remedy this when I got home.

I think that my notes may have been attached/linked to my iCloud email address (this email has not been used as my Apple ID and has never been), but when I tried to add this in my mail application I get a message that my account has been blocked for security reasons. So I tried to unlocked do so I can add it to my phone again and hopefully recover the missing notes. I have zero luck with that. During the unlocking process, I have the option to do it via e-mail or security issues. Safety issues tell me that I don't even know that my date of birth and e-mail option sends the email to the address iCloud Apple have locked? !!! Quite ridiculous. I'm really perplexed and a little disgusted by flawed how this reset password unlocking process is. Not to mention the possibility of not being able to recover the notes that I lost and they contain a lot of important information! I have a back up on my PC (Windows), but I fear that the use of this will wipe away anything from my phone that was added after I backed up before my trip abroad or other data.

I am also having a very hard time to add my gmail email accounts in my mail as application his requesting information server etc, that I simply cannot. I've never met before and I have no idea what caused it. SO I would appreciate some help with this please. I really, really need to solve this problem...

    Thank you very much

    sapphireoceans wrote:

This looks very suspicious to me - as if someone took over your account.  I guess you try to unlock your Apple ID, through the standard process, and, when're asked you your date of birth, told you that it is incorrect.  This probably means that someone else is in your account.  Never share your Apple ID / password with anyone?  Perhaps they have been compromised, especially during your travels abroad?

What about adding email accounts in gmail, when you click Settings > mail > accounts > add account, simply choose 'Google' as the type of account and all appropriate server information will be provided for you.

  • Doc page PDF export.

When I export a doc page to PDF function stops page index score does not appear to work, for example, when I place the cursor on the page number in the new PDF, the hand symbol copy content page and the page does not open.

That ability is not taken in charge when Pages PDF exports. In fact, there is no usable exported links. A downside when you export to PDF is that supported in Adobe Acrobat features are not supported in no Adobe product of PDFs.

  • PDF-export truncates report

When I export my TDR-report (test.tdr in attachment) to PDF I get only truncated reports (see testDIAdem2012.pdf in the attachment). Export to JPG or WMF format is OK. (see test.jpg in attachment). Even the printer output is as expected.

It does not matter if I use the Menu\PDF file to the export or the following code

      Pads const = "C:\temp\test. TDR.
    SPDF const = "C:\temp\test.pdf."

    Call PicLoad (pads-r)

    PicWidthInScal = 29.7
    PicHeightInScal = 21
    PrintLeftMarg = 0
    PrintTopMarg = 0
    PrintOrient = "landscape".

If FileExist (sPDF), THEN call FileDelete (sPDF)
    PDFFileName = sPDF
PrintName = "winspool, DIAdem PDF Export"
    Call PicPrint ("WinPrint")

Truncated PicPdfExport results in the same report.

What can I do to get a whole PDF-report page?

    GEMÜ

    Hi GEMÜ,.

When chossing the pdf export as part of your report is printed. You can turn off the frame in page layout options.

    Letter: Einstellungen > einrichten Layout > Layout-setting...

I've attached a screenshot of the box you need to uncheck.

If this does not resolve your problem, please do not hesitate to come back to me.
