  I'm creating an assessment which has a variety of slides in normal question - and it also has simulations.

  Thus, for example, question 1 (slide 1) is a true/false question 2 (slide 2) is a multiple-choice questionnaire, question 3 (3-10 slides) is a simulation, issue 4 (page 11) is a true/false. That is the problem - the simulation is not "count" as an issue. The slides that I actually put in as 'normal' question slides all do. So the problem, this is when the user gets to question 4 (page 11), the slide still says 'Question 3 of 3' - that is, it is besides the simulation as a question.

  So, what I could do is to just all simulations at the end... but is there a better solution? Is there no workaround that I can use to 'make' the simulation appear / are counted as an issue?

  You will need to know that question slides are a little different, and indeed the meter for quiz counts only the 'real' question slides

  Solution: create your legend of appropriate text for Question slides and other slides. Although you can not put a few interactive objects on Question slides, you can always add a text caption. Disable 'Show progress' in the Quiz settings, so you'll get rid of the default ' issue x of y "." If you are using variable CP4 might help you.

• Problem with LocationListener availability and network on Storm 9530 Simulator

  Having an interesting problem. I have an application with a locationlistener which works fine on "BOLD" and curve (Simulator and device) and 9500 Simulator. Try to make it work on a Verizon 9530. It * used * to work fine, but now the question I have is this: in the Simulator (9530-Verizon 4.7.0.148 and 9530-JRE that comes with the 4.7 eclipse plugin), if the CDMA network is turned on, I only get invalid places every 15 seconds. As soon as I disable the network (by unchecking it in the simulation/network properties dialog) I can get a good location every second, as it should. If I then select the network locations stop again.

  Pulling my hair out, any ideas?

  OK, solved my problem, I had the incorrect criteria to work with the Verizon Storm discovered. Yet, very strange behavior.

  If you have PHP and SMTP e-mail server on your system, PHP has a function mail(). Some languages have similar characteristics. Just write a few lines to accept the settings and send it along. There is a lot of information on the web to set up. Not knowing what type of server and hosting, you have, you already have it on your system.

  I have a question. If I use a fix width and height, which is 320 x 240 to develop software. JDE 4.7 allows you to compile and load in BlackBerry Curve, Storm, and "BOLD".

  Everything is essentially the same, except for the following mods:

  Here, I read an image from a file by using one of my own methods. I know that this method works very well, I use it all the time. Now, when I send the email using the Simulator, it goes through all the movements (is not actually send it because I have not implemented all that jazz email), but when I go to my Messages and check the email it shows the e-mail with attachment and appropriate sizing, but when I try to view the attachment, he said "this type of attachment cannot be seen on the device.

  Is it only a matter of Simulator? I suppose I could do a build and try, but I'm just trying to do the bare minimum here to confirm if it is possible.

• Send an email to JDE 4.5 sim

  I recently installed JDE 4.5 (now alongside 4.2 and 4.3). I try to run an application on different simulators come with the JDE 4.5 (trying the 8320).

  Here's the question: I sent an email to the Simulator and I see Email arise and (apparently) analysed properly in the MDS window, and yet the email never hits the Inbox of the Simulator. There is no exception in the MDS window. I use the MDS comes with the JDE and execute it at the start of the sim card.

  That said, I also tried MDS 4.1.4 (start manually before starting the sim card) with the same result.

  My accounts of device ID and e-mail are properly configured. The same configuration works very well on 4.2 and 4.3.

  JDE is 4.5.0.7

  8320 sim watch 4.5.0.44

  JDK is 1.6.0_05

  JRE is 1.6.0_05

  Any ideas? I already deleted and reinstalled the JDE and Sun's JDK/JRE.

  This has proved to be a firewall problem.

• What filter to use?

  I'm writing a component that uses iText to get a viewable number of PDF web pages and then update the metadata of the element content with the County. I am struggling to find a good filter to use.

  I ran into csJdbcStartTranWithinATranNotAllowed several times before.

  The best way I found to deal with this is basically wait until the end of the transaction (payment in this case). You'll know it's over by using the serviceCleanUp filter. You can store the fact / dDocName of the point in question in SharedObjects content (note that this has possible problems in a clustered environment).

  So, to sum up, store the fact / dDocName in SharedObjects for checkin. Create a filter of serviceCleanUp, to retrieve the fact / SharedObjects dDocName update and run a metadata.

• Instruction trace does not not on some FLAs

  I have a weird situation, I call the statement trace (for example trace("test")) and it displays correctly in the output area, but on some FLAs, trace does not at all. Is there some setting I accidentally activated to disable output on these specific FLAs? I noticed that the culprits in question use SharedObjects, don't know if this has something to do with anything either. No compilation problem, everything works fine.

  1 settings/flash file/publish - make sure you have "not omit trace actions" checked.

  2. click on the upper right corner of your output (in x) Panel / filter level/verbose
