Question of VCAP

I plan to take cert VCAP... should I wait for vSphere 6 or take 5 exam?

also, do I need VCAP courses if I have active VCP?  books do recommend you for review VCAP?

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this page: 2015 VMware Certification Roadmap

With vSphere 5, you can get a VCAP with a single review, with vSphere 6 you will need to take 2 tests to get a VCIX.

There are paths of migration for those who have the VCP and VCAP in v5, you can learn more about this too: paths of Migration from v5 to v6 Certification | The Certification Blog - Articles from VMware and VMware education

So, you could wait and go directly to VCIX6. Or you can go for a VCAP5 now and find yourself at VCIX6.

As long as your VCP is present (ie. it has not expired) you will not need to take any training.

    Hi all

Wanted to know if the VCAP-DCD550 review has both multiple choice questions and slide table and design issues.

I know there are 46 questions and

Unlike the DCD510 the DCD550 does not have many questions about this choice and has a large (30 min) design.

  • Some VCAP-DCA exam questions

I take this test on Friday and have a few more questions I couldn't find answers for it:

Several takers review mentioned that there is only the vma and ESX servers. What about PowerCLI? Is there any explicit questions or tasks MUST be completed with PowerCLI? If it is not installed, it is no use learning, isn't it? (except the actual skills very useful)
Are there tasks MUST be accomplished using VMA/CLI/vSphere client/PowerCLI or this is my choice, what tool I take to accomplish the task?
One more: I've read that vscsiStats is not installed on the ESX Server. Do we need to install it during the exam or if all the tools are pre-installed?
I guess that these questions are not subject of the disclosure to sign...
Thanks to adnavce for your help!

5- DCA VCAP, you're right that AutoDeploy is included under the headings of the blueprint, of Update Manager PowerCLI is also mentioned.

But for VCAP,4- DCA, I would describe the required level of knowledge as pretty basic PowerCLI.

  • Question about the phase-out of the VCAP

    Hello

I just recently had my VCP5 and I plan to start studying for my VCAP but I noticed the following thread: Re: VCAP exams is being gradually...

It is, will change the goals, etc.? This would affect me if I got my VCAP-DCA in the meantime? If I have to spend another review for the VTC VCIX or just change the title?

    Thank you

    Jake

It is only the new track of virtualization of network which includes the new VCIX element at the moment - he there is no news on the existing VTC, DT, and tracks of cloud.

So, for now I continue as planned to the VCAP-DCA or VCAP-DCD (you don't tell you you're aiming for)

  • Question about the VCAP-DCA Certification

I have a query on the VCAP-DCA Certification the...

I am certified VCP4, My target is VCAP5-DCA.

My query is... If I take the review VCP5 directly with output authorized Vmware training...

What am eligible to the Certification VCAP5-DCA...?

You can not. It is a difficult requirement - you MUST have the class to have the VCP certification. You can take the exam without the class, but you do not get the certification without the class. This is to avoid exactly what you are doing. A dump is just a memory exercise. By forcing the class, we know that you had some practices, even if for a week. We want the VCP to the senses, and not be just an exercise in memorizing the answers. This isn't knowledge, which is just facts randomly.

  • Question about the VCAP EHR Architecture

    Hello

Sorry for the issue, to dumm

I went to the page in the BlurPrint of the VCAP and I pressed registration.

This means that I am registered for a review?

I mean it will cost me something just to see the blurprint?

The review is on the site of Pearson-Vue.

And don't worry... they will ask for payment before confirming the review

  • Quick questions

I'm new to VMWare I was using Hyper-V to my past companies. So I have a few questions.

1 can virtualize USB ports corresponding to a port on a virtual machine?

2 are backups there tools powershell or script for backup commands?

Hi there and welcome to the community,

    (1) If you mean can you passthrough a USB device from the host to a virtual machine, then Yes you can - change the settings of your virtual machine to add a USB controller first and then connect your device to your host, and then again in the settings of the virtual machine, you can add a USB device that allows you to select the devices connected to your host.  This will link of course however effectively this specific to this particular host VM, you will not be able to vMotion it to another host for example or DRS will not be able to move the virtual machine to load balance (if you have active DRS)

    (2) vSphere APIs that allow backups, but I think that's maybe not accessible to the public and will depend on the level of vSphere license (these are not available in the free ESXi hypervisor, I understand).  There are various solutions of workarounds that you can use to create "backups" of your virtual machines with PowerCLI however using the built-in feature of vSphere, as in this example of Simon Long that essentially creates a snapshot of your virtual machine, it clones.  You can also export the VM to OVF/EGGS as another form of backup, depends on your needs.  There is also plenty of choice of backup software available including scripts feature, Veeam being one of the most prominent, but once again this feature is only available with certain levels of software license, again depends on your needs and your budget!

Hope this helps and good luck,

    vM

  • VCAP-DCD after issue of DCA

I just finished the VCAP-DCA, which has been a royal pain to study!  Took me 6 months and probably 300 to 400 total hours.  It was much longer that I wanted to spend, but I ended up finding it necessary to do so.

I'm now toying with the idea of making the VCAP-DCD but want to know other people who took both who and the FLAK if they found that the DCD requires much study time or if it is less.  Just from reading the EHR Architecture, I guess it's a base much more has test because it is just done with diagram and drag and drop questions.  Without worrying about PowerCLI, SSH, advanced configuration settings, etc..  Looks like it would be more simple, but I just hope someone can check this for me before I consider getting serious about its pursuit.

    Hey Krenztor,

I have a www.virtualtiers.net Simulator that will give you an idea of what will be the DCD.  Remember, it is more multiple choice review questions.  Also keep in mind the responses on the Simulator are not Gospel or a dump by any means, the tool must be used to learn about what the exam will be asked to you and how to use the design drawing area.  At the end of the Simulator is a Pack of study created by myself and the community.  It is on the lookout for the region you need to study on before attempting the DCD.

The biggest problem with the DCD is it of design and very open ended.  The study material is not as cut and dry that the DCA is.  The DCA had a list of things that you need to out lab and know cold before the test, when it comes to design this is not so much cut and dry.

I also suggest a look at the task force DCD google +.  There are a lot good information at this location.

    Good luck and happy student

    Hope this helps

  • Can question about a possible question, I do it my way?  The end result really me the measure of success?

I have a question about a theoretical question of the VCAP (specifically the example below).  I could do it is a flash by going directly to the host instead of using the stinking vMA and resxtop, I've always will mark the full points by my way?

    "

    Scenario 11

    < Return | Next >

    Scenario:

On a specific host of ESXi, a set of virtual machines is not good. You intend to determine the root cause. To do this, you want to collect usage data of resources at a level more granular than vSphere Client performance graphs can provide.

    Requirements:

    • Use resxtop to collect all the statistics for 2 minutes every 3 seconds.
    • Export the data to a CSV file called results.csv.
    • Import the results.csv file in the Windows performance monitor.
    • Use Windows performance monitor to indicate the time of CPU ready for all the virtual machines on the 2 minute period.

    Environmental information:

    • ESXi host: Home - 01.lab.local

VDCA510 goal: 3.4 use Advanced vSphere Performance Monitoring Tools
VDCA550 goal: 4.1 use Advanced vSphere Performance Monitoring Tools

I'm under the impression that it was some sort of bug, fixed now, thanks to you guys useful...

urgent vMA, would appreciate your help VCAP is tomorrow.

Always extremely frustrating in the circumstances

  • VCAP or VCIX

    Hi friends

I currently hold certifications VCP - NV & VCP5-VTC (valid through March 2017), I intend to make further progress on both tracks, enjoy your AIDS to organize my trip

I had to take certs in that order VCAP5-DCA, VCAP5-DCD, then VCIX-NV, but later I found that VMware has introduced VCIX6-VTC & VCIX6-NV, so my question is.

    1. should I wait for the VCIX6 series, so I can save at least an examination cost?
    2. VCIX6 is equivalent to VCAP5-DCA + VCAP5 - DCD? or at least they cover a part of the design and the admin?
    3. Will be my current certs can be used as a condition sine qua non for VCIX6?

    Thank you for your support

    Rajesh

should I wait for the VCIX6 series, so I can save at least an examination cost?

I don't think take you less exams - there will be 2 exams for VCIX6-VTC and 1 (or 2) for VCIX6-NV - so eventually you will take at least 3, the same as you would if you did the VCAP5 existing-DCA / VCAP5-CR / VCIX-NV certifications you mentioned.

VCIX6 is equivalent to VCAP5-DCA + VCAP5 - DCD? or at least they cover a part of the design and the admin?

Yes, VCIX is the equivalent level of the VCAP certification, focused on implementation and design.

Will be my current certs can be used as a condition sine qua non for VCIX6?

I don't know if this is confirmed yet.

  • VCP for VCAP expiry times

    Hello

If I failed my VCAP certification and my VCP expired during this failure and my recovery I need to regain my VCP before trying the VCAP again.

I guess the question I ask is whether the VCP certification must be valid or I have in the past had a collect CALL to the VCAP. ?

    Thank you

    Steve

Yes.  If your VCP expires before you pass the VCAP you get certification VCP-level (including taking a required course) before retrying the VCAP.

  • VCAP-dca web client or vsphere client

wonder for vcap-dca exam, specifically require a candidate to use web client or vsphere client?

VCAP Simulator shows using vsphere client but plan shows the two under Tools for each objective.

No, you can use either.  I know about the 5.1 VCAP-DCA I only used the VI-Client.  As long as the question they ask you installation is configuration bit is important if you use the VI-Client, Web Client or CLI to do.

  • VCAP-DCA 5.5 WebUI

    Hello

Someone at - it still taken VCAP-DCA 5.5?  This review is still around the fat client c# or some parts of the exam include now perform tasks using the Web user interface?

    Thank you

    VFK

DCA510 is based on vSphere 5.0 and is always available, but not recommended.

DCA550 is based on vSphere 5.5, fewer questions (23 against 26), less time (180 min vs 210 min), easier component names and passwords access to pubs.vmware.com and kb.vmware.com, a more simple interface (a full Win2k8 desktop for 90% of the work) and is structured to significantly reduce the chances of a candidate to blow up the environment.

  • Exam for VCAP discount code

    Hi community

I finally made the commitment to continue my VCAP5 certification - DCA (VDCA510) . I am certified in my PCC 510 since 2011, but were lazy in going to the VCAP. But the time has come and I am committed. I'm also afraid that once VMware version version 6.0 all CERT change shortly after.

I wanted to ask if anyone knew of any given exam count as each life-saving aid.

I would appreciate if anyone can provide links or info on it.

Also if any of you did the review recently advice or comments would be great.

I'm hoping to take my exam in 8 weeks. I know that it will be difficult because it is only in laboratories and not to multiple questions.

    Many

    Thank you

    Hi Scott28tt

Thanks for that. I've seen this before, but there is not any discount for review VCAP. I found a few codes of the forums, but I think they came out last year. If successful I'll post here
