  We installed successfully Essbase 11.1.1.3.
  
  We are logging in Essbase Administration Console (CAS) Services using a Web browser, e.g. Internet Explorer. Select the language and I am able to connect successfully, however, I am not able to see something when I expand Essbase server.
  
  I checked my Java version by going to start-> settings-> Control Panel-> Java. On the Java tab, confirm the run settings and it's Java JRE 1.6.0_22
  
  
  I am able to see all of my applications and databases, when I went into the server of the EAS and connected by going to start-all programs - EPM System - Essbase-console Administartion to start services.
  
  Someone can kindly let me know what is the problem, why I am not able to see anything when I connect to the console using a Web browser.

  11.1.1.3 the JRE plugin support is + 1.5.0_17
  You have 1.6, install 1.5, 1.6 to disable, enable 1.5 and try again.

• Question of console GANYMEDE

  I just put GANYMEDE on some IOS devices, I'm only using a default group that is configured to provide level 15 privileges. As I use the same default group on the vty and console I would expect access by 2 methods are the same, but when I telnet in I get 15 directly to the guest level of #, but when I console in I always get prompt for the secret to activate it.

  You can find a behavior that Cisco has done for a long time (and probably for good reason). The authentication/authorization GANYMEDE someone directly implement default privilege mode works on the vty and does not work on the console.

  The reasoning is that if you make a mistake in the configuration of the authentication/authorization (very easy to do - especially if your understanding of what you are doing is a little weak), it would be easy to lock you out of the unit. By default it works on vty and does not work on console (prividing far to recover from problems). There is a hidden command that allows you to also have it working on the console (be very careful that your config works correctly before you activate it on the console).

  If you want it, try this:

  I have a little problem running VMWare Server 2.0.2.

  When you use mozilla Firefox 3.6.2 I get the following error every time message I am trying to connect to the console of the guest operating system:

  " ...

  Unable to access the virtual machine console. The request has timed out.

  The attempt to acquire a valid session for 'Virtual Machine' ticket took longer than expected. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

  ... "

  However, when I try the same with Internet Explorer 8, everything works fine.

  Someone has a clue on how to troublesahoot this device or what can happen?

  Yes. It seems that the console plugin remote vmware is not compatible with firefox 3.6. So maybe the only solution is firefox downgrade to version 3.5.

• What version of Java, we should use for EAS Web Console 9.3.1

  I am facing a problem at the launch of the Regional service Console. When I tried to launch the service Console Client (common to all users) area Regional it gives the following error message.
  "Cannot run the executable.
  Could not load jvm.dll
  Try to reinstall java VM or change the JVM used by the application"
  Also when I tried to launch the web console EAS, just launch 'Open with' windows asking programs to select in the list.

• Issue of SSL - EAS

  I implemented SSL to web destination layer (OHS). I was able to validate everything, including the workspace, smartview and studio FR. But unfortunately, at the launch of the Regional of the web service, I get this error when connecting.

  

  I imported the intermediate certificates signed OHS, the root and in Java keystore on environmental assessments and Essbase servers. I don't see any errors in the web console EAS. Not sure where it goes wrong.

  I do not see errors if any easserver.log except for something like that.

  Just to add if you are not happy with the help of the url to directly access the jnlp then another option is:

  If windows open the registry on the computer of the EAS Editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hyperion Solutions\EssbaseAdminServices0\HyS9eas_epmsystem1

  Add a new JVM option for example JVMOption50 with the value

  -DEAS_FE_URL =https://: 443

  Increment JVMOptionCount 1 and restart the windows EAS service.

  If on * nix then edit setCustomParamsEssbaseAdminServices.sh and add the parameter above.

  Which is pretty solutions, if all goes well, we'll be pretty good.

  We use version Hyperion 11.1.2.1. I faced a new problem in Regional service console. The Essbase Cluster-1 node in the service console Regional expanding not when I tied to drilled her. For this reason, I am unable to view the applications, calculation scripts, etc. We need to run calc scripts and to add new members in the application.  Any body experienced this before? Kindly guide me to solve this problem issue.

  If you use the web console EAS, then make sure you are using a supported Java version, if it is supported, and then try adding the server essbase with the hostname instead of cluster.

• LabManager 4.0.2.1269 Web Console error in IE 6 or 7

  After installing a new LM 4.0.2.1269 Server I am unable to see the console config with IE 6 or 7 or model deployed without IE crashing.

  I get the error message is:

  Fatal error VMware Workstation: (app)

  SSLLoadSharedLibrary: Could not load library ssleay32.dll:126

  I have tested on several systems and concluded that if the vSphere Client version 4.0 is NOT installed there is no errors, but as soon as you install vSphere Client 4.0 it causes the error.  I also tried vSphere Client 4.1 and the error disappeared, but then I get a black console screen if I'm not full screen worked.

  If I use Firefox 3.5.10 (Enterprise version approved) there are no errors and it works perfectly, so I have a work around, but I'd like to see if anyone has a solution.

  A few points:

  My 4.0.1.1233 LM servers do not have this problem.

  If I uninstall the vSphere Client error disappears.

  I have tested it on XP 32-bit SP3.

  Try to go in the following article.  You may need to manually uninstall the first current plugin as well.

• Keys to sticky popup

  Every hour or so a pop up appears asking if I would like to turn on sticky keys?  The popup is immediately preceded by a loud noise like an alarm of sorts.  Despite clicking 'no' the popup will reappear about an hour.  I went to control panel > Usability > keyboard > to do of course sticky key has been disabled.  It has been and continues to be disabled.  Furthermore, I ran a full antivirus scan, a single application of antivirus Mricrosoft nothing works.  The problem, it's very annoying and irritating.  When the problem first started I noticed she was accompanied by another question: enter a URL in explore 8 > whenever the small o case has been pressed, his counterpart capitalized (O) seems rather.  In addition, there was a problem trying to connect to windows using a password that is proven.  Several attempts were required before access was allowed.  As a desperate measure, I used system restore to restore the system on 1 April.  That solved all questions EXCEPT the ease of use of pop-up as described above.  Ive also checked to find this pop ups are not allowed under my security settings.  What is causing this problem and how to fix it?

  Try another keyboard. Looks like one of your keys is stuck. If you have a portable computer, and then connect an external USB keyboard to test. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

• Software monitors ultra-wide desperately need to change!

  I just bought 2 x U2913WM. I must say they are very good (I need a lot of space on the screen for my work and I used 3 monitors to cover what I need, the 2 ultra-wides do same work as the 3 regular monitors for me). I must say that Dell has done a very good job by jumping into this trend. I'm almost happy. There is however a small problem and I hope that Dell will fix it up soon (given that it's very new range of monitors and hard to get the stock to the United Kingdom-, I waited 2 weeks to receive). The question is in ease of use. Obviously a normal person cannot use such a wide screen as a regular monitor (most of the time, for me it is 99% of the time) - when you need a few windows on the same screen and you would not bother to try adjust sizes whenever you jump a high window - to keep do not overlap and beautiful and tidy... Right... This is the display Dell Manager... It was a great job for you help organize your desktop. You can pin your windows in small spaces of customizable virtual display... Which is what is needed! However, there is a hiccup I want Dell to resolve as soon as possible... The problem is that whenever you take a window of the header - display Manager starts working and there is no way to avoid once the window is caught. So - you can not move a window without being pinned as soon as you release (maximized in the closest of the virtual screen). It's _very_ counterproductive because there are a lot of small windows that must remain the size they are, and if you want to move them they must leave with this size... I would like that someone from Dell support to spread my comments to team development as soon as possible. I don't know that this can be resolved very easily (for example if you add a keyboard stokes in this image, you can simply have for example Ctrt + Window_Grab to mean - do not pin the window etc.). • CDF to run commands / Shell scripts

  Hi friends,

  I need help serious here regarding the CDF function.

  I created a JAR file to run batch/shell scripts via the calculation script.

  I tested the JAR file and it works perfectly well that run without the calculation script, but I get errors including in Calc script, I get the error message.

  Initially, the error was: error of Machine virtual Java and later, it is class not found.

  Here are the steps to register the CDF:

  1. place the JAR file in the location: E:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\java\udf\

  2. update the file udf.policy with the following statement:

  Grants all permissions to BatEx

  give the code "file:${essbase.java.home}/BatEx.jar" {}

  permission java.security.AllPermission;

  };

  3 restart the Essbase services.

  4. I am trying to create this function at Global level so no mention is not the name of the Application in the MaxL at registration:

  create or replace function '@BatEx' as

  "BatEx.

  Spec '@BatEx(Complete path in double quotes) '.

  Comment "Functions A CDF that runs the batch file in Essbase Server";

  5 this is the calc script:

  Thanks much Amit and Jake! I finally cracked!

  Sad thing is that I have found no OTN correct information regarding function Java Custom, rather there was a lot of information about CDFs pre-existing provided by Oracle, so I decided to write a complete solution of CDF, where Java code too was created by the developer of Essbase applications.

  The requirement that I had was to trigger the batch file in the calculation script. Here is the detailed requirement:

  Update Variable of Substitution by planning web form.

  1. the user enters the data in the form of the planning web and saves it.

  2. the calc script attached to the web form, extracts data and records the flat file on Essbase server.

  3. earlier we were executing the script batch on the web server as the workflow will identify the lots on the web server and not on Essbase server, but after the development of this CDF to run the batch job, the batch files can be run directly Essbase server.

  4. the idea is to keep the user limited to the tasks list, so that it does not jump to the to-do list to SubVar web form, workflow and then return to the task list for a simple job to change SubVar.

  There were a few challenges that I encountered during the development of this JAVA function, namely:

  1 function CDF records do not : I tested JAVA code separately using command line and the executable Jar file will execute the batch, as expected. But I couldn't get why my CDF is not have recorded trace. After a lot of searching on Google and analysis, I found that it was the difference between the Version of JAVA (the JAVA compiler I used to compile and create my JAR file) and JAVA (JVM Essbase) virtual machine. I used JDK 1.7 update 65 to compile and create my POT so that the JVM used in the Essbase Server Update 1.6 is 35. I uninstalled JDK 1.7 of my machine, downloaded Update 1.6 35 archives of the Oracle and recompiled the code. Guess what! My CDF function was recorded first.

  So always check the compatibility of the Version of the JDK you used to compile and create the JAR file and JVM on your Essbase server.

  You can check the version of the JVM in console EAS-> EssbaseCluster-> right click-> Edit-> properties-> tab environment. There is a line that appears something like:

  ; JvmModuleLocation $J (EPM_ORACLE_HOME)-...-jdk160_35\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll (the bold is your version of the JVM).

  2. "main class not found" error after successful registration of CDF:

  I haven't had that one category of Public in my JAVA code and this error took me by surprise. I also checked the "public static void main" section in my code and everything seems to be OK. Please note that JAVA is case sensitive - 'hand' and 'Hand' aren't even in JAVA.

  I did some further research and one of John's response to a CDF request, I came to know that I need to include another argument (context) in the main section of my Java code and recompile with classpath "essbase.jar" (I will explain the controls in the next steps). I changed the main section of my JAVA code and included the argument:

  Install the (compatible to Essbase JVM) compatible version of the JDK on your machine. Compile the above code by using the following command:

  C:\ >javac - classpath essbase.jar BatEx.java - please specify the path to the file "essbase.jar". It generally to the location: : \Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\java\

  The code should compile without any problem, and a .class file must be created with the same name.

  Now is the time to create the JAR file. Use the following command:

  C:\ >jar cf BatEx.jar BatEx.class

  Now the executable JAR file must also be created.

  Place this JAR file: : \Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\java\udf\

  Restart the service of Essbase and application (the only Application Restarting should work, but I didn't take any chances to restart both).

  Check the log of function CDF recording applications. The application log should be at the location:

  The CDF enrollment message should be something like:

  External function of [GLOBAL] [@BatEx] saved OK

  I used the following MaxL to register my function in Essbase:

  I used the following script to calc to run my CDF (fairly simple however):

  I went and checked the logs that the Test.bat written and "wallah! The log file had some content and 1 KB in size. I deleted the contents of the log file and checked again, the result was the same.

  Hope this answer helps all of us who work on CDF that is clean.

  Win 2008 R2 environment

  Single server Clasic Essbase v 11.1.2.1

  JRE 6u23 (I know it is old - we do the upgrade).

  Sequence of events: -.

  • Applied patch 17545122 (Essbase Server Admin) and 17545124 (customer) in that order.
  • Delete the tmp folder in D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EssbaseAdminServices0
  • Restarted services (using the start.bat - lazy yup).
  • Launched the Regional service Console in Server environment

  I can see the server when I expand the server, I get the message error: 105: connection with a token to MaxlJni

  a secondary message error: 0. the database does not accept the connection

  When I use the Excel Add-In on a client (i.e. NOT the server) I can connect, see databases, extract data. Business as ususal.

  I have of the I tried to launch the service Console client on the same Regional and got the same error (Client has Java 7u40).

  NB. When I look in the folder D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EssbaseAdminServices0 to the folder tmp is back

  I have reviewed the patch notes and that you do not see what I missed.

  Can anyone shed some light as to what I have to do to get the Console EAS working properly?

  Please go through the following oracle support doc

  Cannot add or connect to an Essbase server in Essbase Administration Services (EAS): "error: 0 in Essbase Administration Services: the database does not accept a connection" or "" error: 105: connection with a token to MaxlJni "" (Doc ID 1469492.1)

  Cause

  Essbase Client Runtime must also be updated on the server of Regional service.  If the EAS server is 64-bit, be sure to install the 64-bit RTC.

  Solution

  On the server of the EAS, apply the customer of Essbase Runtime for your version:

  1. log in to the My Oracle Support Portal.   https://support.Oracle.com
  2. choose the patches & Updates tab to date.
  3. Select 'product or a family (Advanced) '.
  4. do a search for "Hyperion Essbase" and corresponding "v11.1.2.1.0" for your operating system platform.
  5. Select the Patch Update for "HYPERION ESSBASE RTC" for your version.  The patch file includes the installers and the Readme.

• Unable to connect to the MKS: internal error

  After you add the hosts to vCenter, when I try to KIKILA the VMRC, I get the error: could not connect to the MKS: internal error

  First of all, this isn't the usual DNS resolution of Host IP addresses MKS error! This is something totally different.

  An unusual thing in the manifestation of this problem which is to turn it off (completely off, not a reboot) and then turn the virtual machine in question, the console will work for this virtual machine, but the console continues to malfunction for the other virtual machines on the same host until these virtual machines are vMotioned or completely powered by bicycle!

  Here's the workflow:

  1. I have to stand up a new ESXi (patched and firmwared to the latest updates)
  2. I build a Windows or Linux VM to serve DNS and/or be an AD domain controller
  3. I have install the VCSA (or Windows vCenter)
     1. I connect and test forward and reverse the resolution for all hosts in the Broadcast domain
  4. I add the ESXi host (and all other hosts) to vCenter
  5. I try to open a VMRC and get the MKS error!

  It is a minor problem, with the exception of the VCSA himself!

  Any ideas?

  Looks like we have a need is power off and turn it back on, suspend and energy back or vMotion to another host to resolve. I guess it has to do with the generation of a new SSL certificate when joining a host to vCenter? I checked that at least the first two options work, so I hope that answers your question.

• Security filter problem

  I am facing a problem with the security filter for a single user. We are on the edition of Fusion Hyperion Version 11.1.2.1.

  We had a user created in the SSP with ID: TESTUSER and added in the group. Initially for this user was working fine. Subsequently, we have removed this user of shared services like us is needed more than that.

  According to the new requirements that we are supposed to create a user with the same username, so we created new new user "TESTUSER" and added in the same group of users, then we refreshed the Planning Application security by "Administration-> Application-> Refresh Database-> security filters '." " Refreshing security created filters to filter for above the user and we checked this consol EAS.

  However, when connect us to the Application via Smart View we get the error below.
