Question on HDMI & USB hub port

I noticed that my 13 Yoga has a Micro HDMI port. I have a standard as they adapters or do I have to buy a Micro HDMI cable?

Any of you use a hub to additional USB ports? What brand do you recommend for this laptop?

http://www.Amazon.com/MonoPrice-6inch-34AWG-speed-Ethernet/DP/B00507GV38

I used Helio front hub with no problems. However, I no longer use hubs. I have a bluetooth mouse, so I have two free ports for exHDD to USB/exHDD disk transfers.

Over the last 2 weeks, I get a message on a USB device.  The message said that one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.  The location is the root (2 ports) USB hub: 1-unknown device and 2-unused Port.  I have no idea what it means.  I hesitated to first click the icon (it does not last very long) thinking it could be a scam.  Can someone help me?  Thank you.

    (2) did you of recent changes to the computer before the show?
    (3) have you tried plugging the USB stick on another computer?

The only time you usually get trouble with USB ports is when you mix both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 devices.

    • For all USB 3.0 is backward compatible, it is simply not the case that all the older devices are USB 3.0 compatible.  If you have a problem with an older device, consider that it may be because it is plugged into a USB 3.0 hub / port.
    • Not all hubs are created equal.  If you try to run some devices high speed (things you plug a hub) on a lower speed (2.0) turntable, they may lose the integrity of the data (Act funny) or refuse to perform certain tasks (depending on the device).  These devices may work best when it is plugged directly into the computer no matter that they are running as the USB 3.0 or USB 2.0.  It is not, therefore, necessarily what port the hub is connected - rather, it could be the hub itself (if you have problems).

Peripheral USB could better with a reboot - some may not reset at all without rebooting.  A USB hub, one of the simplest types - these are usually plug-and-play.  That's all that is connected to the hub, which could be the determining factor for the restart.  It's Windows - it is always better to restart when things change.

  • suddenly stops when the external usb hub is attached

My imac 27 inches 5 k 2015 suddenly stops when an external USB hub is attached supposedly designed specifically for the mac. Well, try an another factory USB hub, I had good success with USB hubs powered from Belkin.

Question... are the hubs help powered or are bus powered USB? They are bus powered USB is your problem, the USB ports on iMac didn't supply enough power to power bus-powered USB hubs.

  • Satellite A100-998: continue Error Message «Power surge on USB hub»

    Hello world.

I am the new owner of a Satellite A100 laptop that has a little problem.

When the laptop goes into mode and the monitor shutsdown, energy saving when I turn on the computer again, I always get an error message will appear in the system tray. The message says: peripheral USB A "Power surge on Hub Port" exceeded the limits of its hub port power. To solve the problem, click this message.

First of all, I have 4 USB ports, but NONE of them are used. There's nothing attached to the laptop at all.
Secondly, when I click on the box, I get 5 unknown USB devices shown with the yellow question mark next to them in the list and 3 unused ports, which seem to be ok, with no yellow question mark.

Why is happening, with no device attached, or even installed on the laptop.

Your help to solve this problem will be more appreciated.

  • Communication via a USB hub

I have a pair of FuTek USB210 devices which work perfectly when it is connected directly to the computer, but have significant issues, if I try to plug them into the 10 ports Plugable USB hub.  I have a large number of instruments that I need to connect, and I'm afraid I won't be able to talk to them through the USB hub.  The devices in question come from a number of manufacturers (not all who want to play nice with LabView), but are almost universally using connections series at the exit that I turned to USB somewhere along the line.

The Center will be a problem?  If so, how can I communicate with other devices via the hub?

You should not worry.  The pilots were probably written with some DLL that identifies the units, or VISA resource found.  These layers of the Protocol are supported for you and your need not care where the device is connected, only that Windows can detect it (Device Manager is a good starting point)

  • U2415, USB HUB does not work as usual?

    Hi all

Today afternoon I noticed my printer disappeared from my operating system... After some tests, I realized that the question at issue also all other devices that I use to keep connected to the monitor usb hub.

This morning, I left the PC after turning off the screen by pressing the power button, I use to do when I go for dinner... But usually when I come back in the afternoon and I turn on the monitor, all connected devices are displayed correctly and work as expected (printer included).

This time, something went wrong. I also suspect that maybe I hit a place hurt when I press the button works stop because I was in a hurry...

Could I have disabled somehow the hub... What do I do or where I could check it?

Hope that it is not broken.

    Thanks in advance!

    Who did the trick!

When I restarted my PC after you unplug all devices, I have not turned off the monitor.

Now, I'm just trying to turn the monitor off and then back on. Finally, I inserted the usbkey and check out of "lsusb".

  • USB HUBs in Windows 7 has stopped working

All devices connected to a USB 2 HUB worked until today on Windows 7 Pro System.  Uninstall and re install installs the device in the field "Other devices" without a pilot.  When I select Generic USB hub to the installation, it is not recommended.  Installation in any way will result in failure: Code 31.

    Hi John,.

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

What was the reason to uninstall and reinstall the USB hub?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:
Run this Microsoft fixit and check if that helps.
    Reference:
Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems

If this does not help, then use method 2.

    Method 2:
I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the USB controllers and check the issue.

Use Device Manager to uninstall and reinstall all USB controllers. This allows controllers to recover the port USB of his condition does not respond. USB controllers represent the USB ports in Device Manager.

To uninstall and reinstall the USB controllers, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, type Manager of devices in the search box of start and press ENTER.

    b. develop a 'USB Bus controllers'.

Note: You will need to scroll down to find this point.

    c. right-click on the first controller USB under "In Bus USB controllers" and then click "Uninstall" to remove it.

    d. repeat the above steps for each USB controller that is listed under 'USB Bus controllers'.

    e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.

Now, check the USB device to see if it works.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

  • Drive external hard connected via USB hub: icons not showing on desktop

Hi... on an iMac 2015, using a USB hub 3.0 occasionally to connect an external hard drive (which stores these things as art assets)... but the external hard drive icon does not appear on the desktop... it IS in the sidebar of Finder, though...

But on the icon the Finder sidebar, the small icon "eject" gray is missing, and the only way to eject is to right click and select "eject" or use the eject button in the Finder toolbar... it's okay...

But is there a way to display the icon on the desktop, so I can always remember to eject the disks attached?

(the desktop icon shows normally when connected directly via the USB ports at the rear)

    Thank you.

Finder-> Preferences-> general, check the appropriate boxes under "show these items on the desktop".
