  I just bought a MacBook Pro with the retina, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

  My old computer have iCloud. When I checked

• Question on icloud and drive

  Hello guys, this is my first device from apple so that I don't know much on icloud and drive

  I have the icloud service free with 5 GB with backup works with snapchat and hiking hiking whatsapp, photo library is turned on too which is 2.0 GB

  However I never backed up manually or automatically as my last column 'save' shows EVER, after that the next column said backupsize 1.6 GB

  in the next backupo size it says 1.1 GB, here are my questions

  1] what's the 1.6 GB backup...? I turned only on the backup, I have no BACKUP PRESS button and it was not automatically saved as the last column shows backup NEVER

  2. 5 GB, I have only 3.4 GB of available, I'm pretty sure its related to my 1st request

  I think the purchase of storage icloud, here are a few questions related to it

  a] how is made the backup? I want to say si.jpg is supported today, after a few days when there will be B.jpg C.jpg and so on... will be sauvegarde.jpg again or will he acknowledges in the same file & follow up with those who are not saved, abbr. duplication of files.

  Assuming that I understand your question and the description of the information that you see, the 1.6 GB is the rear size If you choose to save. • Rookie question of Icloud

  So, basically I only want to use iCloud as a return for my iPhone, but I am constantly messages that it is full. I finally understand it's because it's also the backup of my entire library of my iMac. When I go in the iCloud settings on my computer and deselect Photos I get a message saying 'If you stop iCloud photo library, photos and videos that have not been completely downloaded will be removed this Mac... »

  So it is upload photos of the cloud on the Mac? I have manually all my photos imported photo phone, so all I want is currently in Photos. I guess I'm just concerned about things being "removed from the Mac." It will not remove anything currently in my photo library, right? I know I'm ridiculous, that I'm just being paranoid.

  Also, can what file I find all the image files that were imported in Photos?

  This essentially means pictures that you currently have on the Mac, which is uploaded to iCloud, stop downloading if you decide to disable and all the photos of the Mac will be deleted as well.  You can keep what you have already included in iCloud.

Honestly, I don't know even what iCloud drive means, but when I was invited to get updated, I gave up to clicking on it because I wasn't sure of the implications. Would be clicking on upgrade to iCloud result in my phone also get updated to the new iOS 10? FYI, I use my NOTES (version 3.3) on the iMac to prepare sermons which then get 'automatically' to my iPhone and iPad, and I'm very very happy with this state of affairs. If upgrading the iCloud drive would result in teams relative to the data transfer NOTES freely from one device to another, I refrain from going in the upgrade. Your opinions and advice are sought.

  The above is a bit confusing to understand so I think you need to develop a little further.  You say "get your contacts on my contacts on my iMac.  Where are the contacts currently residing?  They reside only on your iPhone or on your Mac?

  You also mentioned you "have a backup of my contacts phone in iCloud, but these data are not displayed for sticking on the contact of my iMac book."  If this is the case, it would seem your contacts are already in iCloud, but it doesn't seem to be filling your devices, is this assessment correct?

  No, the upgrade of your iCloud storage space would be not upgraded to the latest iOS on your iPhone.

  It "will not result in teams' as you said well that if he does (and it shouldn't), then back to this community forum and someone will be happy to help.

  Currently have a problem with iCloud do not restore my data. Restored my device back a little, but it didn't restore some of my data applications.

  What I tried:

  1. I have restored several times.

  2. I used a few tools of recovery.

  3. update my router/iTunes/iOS (if necessary), restarted Internet and then restored again.

  4 set up as new, clicked on "Erase content and settings", and then I tried to restore from iCloud again.

  All this has failed. Sure I tried several methods, but that's all I remember. Is there a solution? Or - is it possible for Apple or some other tool/application retrieve my data?

  Is some / most of your data restored as expected?

  Restorations are generally good or bad. It is unusual for a restoration not complete without an error message.

  You know that these apps to backup their data to you? Not all applications don't.

  I save my photos from my ipnone in icloud. Today, I needed to free up space on my phone so I made sure the photos and videos have been backed up in the cloud, but when I removed them from my phone, they are now gone from the Cloud. Why?

  I thought that kept any cloud, so you can free your phone. What I'm doing wrong that will keep my photos and info on the cloud when I delete from the phone.

  If you have settings > iCloud > Photos > iCloud library turned on then all of the photos you delete from your phone will be deleted to iCloud and any other device connected to this library to iCloud.

  iCloud photo library as is currently is above all a method of synchronization between devices. It is NOT a backup, and it is not designed to be a storage cloud solution only.

  You can reduce the space required for the photos on your phone by selecting "Optimize iPhone storage" on the same above-mentioned settings screen.

  I searched but could not find a relevant answer.   I recently did a wipe on my Macbook air and clean installed El Capitan.   But every time he asks me a different password of my iCloud.   When I got to the control panel user account and click on change password I don't get a pop - up asking if I want to use my password to iCloud.   It gives me the standard change password screen instead.   I logged onto my account iCloud and all that it works.   Don't know if it's something else I'm missing or what.   Any help on this would be appreciated.

  I'm in a similar situation. I have over 10 k photos in my library, and I use the storage optimized in iCloud library option to allow me to have access to view my complete library without having to ingest my storage. This isn't an archival, though, so, if you remove photos or videos that are managed by it on your Mac or your iPhone, they will be deleted on your devices even your Contacts would be.

  Alternatively, you can import the old fashioned way and delete what you no longer want to keep on your iPhone after the fact.

  Yes, according to iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support:

  You cannot use iCloud Drive on your devices until you update your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to the latest version of iOSand your Mac to the latest version of Mac OS X. If you already upgraded and you need to use a device that does not support iCloud by car, you can still work on your documents locally, but they will not be aware of the documents on your devices up to date, or on iCloud.com.

  If you don't want your iPhone to be connected to iCloud, you can simply disable your iCloud on the phone settings.  See what - iCloud: change the settings of the iCloud features
