Question about iCloud upgrade?

Hi all.

Uses iPhone running on iOS 9.0.2. Intend to start to use iCloud for it services mainly: get my contacts to my address book on my iMac [mid-2011 running on Yosemite 10.10.4]. I have a backup of my contacts phone in iCloud, but these data are not displayed for sticking on the contact of my iMac book. Use iCloud drive? Honestly, I don't know even what iCloud drive means, but when I was invited to get updated, I gave up to clicking on it because I wasn't sure of the implications. Would be clicking on upgrade to iCloud result in my phone also get updated to the new iOS 10? FYI, I use my NOTES (version 3.3) on the iMac to prepare sermons which then get 'automatically' to my iPhone and iPad, and I'm very very happy with this state of affairs. If upgrading the iCloud drive would result in teams relative to the data transfer NOTES freely from one device to another, I refrain from going in the upgrade. Your opinions and advice are sought.

Best regards and take care,

Dr. Christophe

The above is a bit confusing to understand so I think you need to develop a little further.  You say "get your contacts on my contacts on my iMac.  Where are the contacts currently residing?  They reside only on your iPhone or on your Mac?

You also mentioned you "have a backup of my contacts phone in iCloud, but these data are not displayed for sticking on the contact of my iMac book."  If this is the case, it would seem your contacts are already in iCloud, but it doesn't seem to be filling your devices, is this assessment correct?

No, the upgrade of your iCloud storage space would be not upgraded to the latest iOS on your iPhone.

It "will not result in teams' as you said well that if he does (and it shouldn't), then back to this community forum and someone will be happy to help.

In addition, it will not affect your Notes database.  Allowing only iCloud (no), means that you will have access to all your data on all devices - it will synchronize all your data on the devices so that they are immediately available.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I want to ask some questions about the upgrade of a300-144.

    * Some info first.*

    CPU: T2370 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/34445/Intel-Pentium-Processor-T2370-1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB]).
    Chipset: GM965 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/29821/Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller]).

    * Questions.*

    1. my frequency of laptop memory at 533 MHz, supports 667 MHz memory controller, memory modules can work at 667 MHz. Is - this because CPU FSB 533 MHz frequency and new processor at 667/800 MHz FSB will fix it or it is hardcoded in the BIOS?

2 Intel said that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?

3 I know, taken of my CPU is μFCPGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB]) is a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

The speed of the memory is related on the material. This means that the FSB is responsible for the limitation.
If the FSB would allow support 667 MHz then the memory would also at this speed.

    > 2. Intel says that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?
The memory depends on the chipset. So if the chipset supports 4 GB of RAM, you should be capable of this move to 4 GB of RAM

    > 3. I know, my CPU is? FC-PGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 (http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB) will be a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

It might be possible that the new processor would be fully supported by the BIOS, but in most cases it should not be a problem if the chipset would support the new processor.
But as far as I know the upgrade of the CPU is not supported by Toshiba or any other manufacturers of portable and its your own risk to run laptop with the new processor.

  • Question about MSD + upgrade and migration applications

    Hi all

    I am running:

    TMS 13.2

    TMSPE 1.0

The two co reside on a Windows 2003 server, pointint in an external box of SQL.

We also organize TCX 2.3 on our Exchange.

Now that our server guys have * finally * installed the service pack required on the Exchange, we are ready to migrate to TMSXE but also to upgrade the TMS and TMSPE.

So we want ot go to:

    TMS 14.2.1

    TMSPE 1.1

    TMSXE 3.1

In addition to migrate a Windows server 2008R2 TMS + TMSPE.

I know the different individual guides to upgrade as well as the dependencies between TMS and TMSPE/TMSXE versions.  I'm hoping to do the upgrade and migration all in one and am hoping to get some tips on the best order to do everything.

My first question - decomission the 13.2/TMSPE server 1.1 TMS, that I can install TMS 14.2.1 and TMSPE 1.1 on the Windows Server 2008, they point to the relevant databases and allow upgrading from there? Or do I need install the new versions TMS/TMSPE on the old server, first of all, upgrade the databases and then migrate?

Second question - before all this, I run the TMSXE migration tool to extract the data 2.3 TCX, uninstall TCX of Exchange, TMS upgrades and then install TMSXE 3.0/3.1 at the end?

As all this is running on the virtual machine I'll instant just in case.  Advice on the issues listed above, or general advice about these upgrades would be appreciated

Hi Nick, IMHO, I suggest you first migrate your 2.3 TCX to TMSXE 3.0.2 by this TMSXE 3.0 installation guide, and then pass the TMS and PE later.

Yes, VM snapshot backup option before any upgrade is fine.

  • Questions about the upgrade from 4.1 to 5.1

I posted the following to the thread in the forum of Vsphere upgrade, and in five days I got ZERO responses. Perhaps more here and even here is the wrong place to post things, or maybe I'm not questions easily answer. I'll post it here too, since it mainly Virtual Center, I think. Maybe someone can help me or tell me what is the problem with my announcement that allows to go unanswered. Here we go:

I'm about to upgrade my little (1 4 host ESX and Virtual Center) environment vSphere 4.1 and 5.1.  My database to the virtual Center lives on a separate SQL server 2008R2 server. My virtual Center Server is virtual, if that matters. I have upgraded my licenses and read the documentation, to try to formulate a plan that escapes enough causing any downtime for my virtual machines.

I am designing a series of steps that are all pretty low, and such that each step does not harm anything, whereas if I have problems, I can take my time to solve. Then, when this step is stable, I can continue to the next step. I want to tell you what I have in mind, ask a question here and there and hope you can report errors that I make and answer my questions. The big picture is:

1 Virtual Center update and give him a few days to show me any problem before doing anything else.

    2. upgrade to a host ESX 4.1 5.1 ESXi. Convince me things are okay, before you do more.

    3. put to level the other three 4.1 ESX hosts. Make sure that everything is fine.

4 create new LUNS, formatted with the new VMFS, move my VM to them and remove the old one.

If there is nothing wrong with this basic plan, please let me know.

    More details and questions:

Question: The docs say my Virtual Center Server, under the SSO, the inventory service and the virtual Center Server, will need TEN GIGABYTES of RAM.  Is this true? It seems insane to me.

Question: Can I install on my Virtual Server 4.1 single signon Center without DANGER?  In other words, its installation will prevent Server 4.1 virtual work center? I hope I can, because it is a new feature that I have trouble with. I don't want to get into a situation where my old virtual server Center does not work, and I can't get the new work.

Question: The VI 4.1 client can talk to Virtual Center 5.1? The VI Client 5.1 can talk to Virtual Center 4.1? I hope that the answer to one of the people is 'yes '.

Step 1: Create a backup of my virtual Center VM (with vRanger connection, if this is important) and a backup of my SQL database.

Step 2: Install single Signon. Here is where I hope that this does not stop 4.1 virtual work center.

Step 3: Upgrade the inventory Service and Virtual Center to 5.1

Step 4: Install VI Client 5.1 on the VM virtual Center and on my desk from which I usually manage my environment.

Step 5: Wait I'm comfortable that everything is fine. It is perhaps a day or two (or more).

Question: How can I spend my hosts for maximum security? I'd rather put a DVD in the drive and do it from the console, unless this is not a good way.

Question: Before I update a host, should I remove the fiber channel cables, so he can't see my VMFS LUNS? I think I read that somewhere, and it sounds like a good thing to do, even if I do not have.

Step 6: Upgrade a host ESX 4.1 5.1 ESXi. Move a couple of virtual machines essential to it and he give a day or two to settle.

Step 7: Upgrade the other three ESX host.

Step 8: Wait until I'm really, really comfortable with things.

Step 9: Create a new LUN VMFS5, migrate my VMs to them over time and remove the old one.

I would greatly appreciate all advice and attention that you may have.

Question: The docs say my Virtual Center Server, under the SSO, the inventory service and the virtual Center Server, will need TEN GIGABYTES of RAM.  Is this true? It seems insane to me.

If your environment is small you can run all these in one and ofcouse if you execute all these in a server you need more RAM... There is no limit.

Question: Can I install on my Virtual Server 4.1 single signon Center without DANGER?  In other words, its installation will prevent Server 4.1 virtual work center? I hope I can, because it is a new feature that I have trouble with. I don't want to get into a situation where my old virtual server Center does not work, and I can't get the new work.

normally if you think only in terms of scalability, it is good to have separate these things... He is sure no questions evey thing won't work if you install it on the same server also.

Question: The VI 4.1 client can talk to Virtual Center 5.1? The VI Client 5.1 can talk to Virtual Center 4.1? I hope that the answer to one of the people is 'yes '.

The VI 4.1 client can talk to Virtual Center 5.1? No, but talk about Client 5.1 Virtual Center 4.1

It is perhaps a day or two (or more).

    these steps are ok

Question: How can I spend my hosts for maximum security? I'd rather put a DVD in the drive and do it from the console, unless this is not a good way.

BLI, or DRAC suites method what ever you... very well.

Question: Before I update a host, should I remove the fiber channel cables, so he can't see my VMFS LUNS? I think I read that somewhere, and it sounds like a good thing to do, even if I do not have.

Installing esxi will not hurt of thing... to the old VMFS... It will ask to keep or to format the old vMFS... BUT I prefer to remove the cables... BECAUSE we are humans...

Step 6: Upgrade a host ESX 4.1 5.1 ESXi. Move a couple of virtual machines essential to it and he give a day or two to settle.

no need... . If the hardware is on the HCL, I mean the firmware/driver etc... for the esx is on the HCL, then no problem...

Step 7: Upgrade the other three ESX host.

Step 8: Wait until I'm really, really comfortable with things.

Step 9: Create a new LUN VMFS5, migrate my VMs to them over time and remove the old one.

assign the new LUN and create VMFS and migrate... It'S her!

    > one last thing my qosmio I NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256 MB, but I don't know if it is possible to change or not. If possible, what video card will be the best?

No, the graphics card can not be upgraded

What you can do, it is memory and the upgrade of the HARD drive. This should be very easy and should cause no serious problems.

    Upgrading CPU is little tricky.

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: Question about RAM upgrade

    Hi all

I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.

  • When is MS stop support Vista service pact 2 and a few questions about the upgrade to the new version

    Hello comrades,.

I have a few questions and concerns, and hope that you guys can share with me some lights here.

    1. What is MS stop supports the Covenant of service about the update of windows Vista 2 / other online support?

    2. my computer is vista based 32 bit, ultimate version. I heard that there are a lot of wonderful things about Windows 8. Should I move to Windows 8, or should I actually wait awhile then buy a new computer with Windows 8 64 bit attached?

Honestly, it's a question that has been bothering me for some time. But my laptop is 4 GB of RAM, 1920 x 1080 HD display, 300 GB HARD drive at 5400 RPM (cost me a lot - it's a SONY) and have been works very well even with vista, the operating system highly complainted by many others. I think it would be a waste to buy a new computer, including the so-called net-books and i - PAD, I know, they are beautiful and sexy, but looking at their record, I was speechless. Yet knowing 32bits was maximum and MS has already announced that they stopped support for Vista SP1, consider that SP2 is expected online.

    3. how long do you 32-bit based can last? Should I increase the RAM of 4 GB to 6 GB and upgrade to Windows 8?

    4. How about 64-bit based of the future? Or is it true that most of the computer manufacturing starts in the future these application device of the base (not the real computer-driven software)?

    5. or should I forget it all, wait 3-4 years, until my laptop would be a museum piece, then buy a desktop computer which monitor and hard drive is all separated, knowing it is the best technique for the $s and phone for mobile computing laptop use there?

I understand that this is somewhat a personal decision, but I really appreciate you guys Preview on the path of the operating system! Thank you

Yes it will work to buy a copy upgrade of Windows 8.   This is a custom installation rather than an upgrade in place once you switch between 32-bit and 64-bit.  However you can still save money by buying the upgrade license.

More important is that all the drivers you need will be available.  Your computer manufacturer will not write drivers for Windows 8 because the computer has been out of production far too long.

Windows 8 is a significant departure from previous versions and I suggest that you upgrade to Windows 7 If you are tired of Vista or wait until you buy a new computer before Windows 8.  You read the discussions on the forums of Windows 8 CP.  At this point, there are many critics of Windows 8 due to the removal of the Start button and Start Menu.  Many people dislike having to rely on style Metro Screen start for many things.  It is becoming a major concern.

To navigate to the Windows 8 CP forums use in the middle of the dropdown at the top of this forum page.

Note:  Microsoft has not announced that there will be copies upgrade for Windows 8.  Microsoft has already stopped providing copies of upgrade of Office is not yet clear what will be available for 8.

Yes, according to iCloud Drive FAQ - Apple Support:

You cannot use iCloud Drive on your devices until you update your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to the latest version of iOSand your Mac to the latest version of Mac OS X. If you already upgraded and you need to use a device that does not support iCloud by car, you can still work on your documents locally, but they will not be aware of the documents on your devices up to date, or on iCloud.com.

In addition, the system requirements for iCloud - Apple Support should be useful.

  • Question about the upgrade memory for my Satellite M40-307

Sorry for the newbie question. But if I have 512 MB of memory for the time being, what are my upgrade options?

Do I have to buy pairs of memory? So I can or buy 2 x 1 GB = 2 GB, or 2 x 512 MB = 1 GB + 512 existing. Or can I say just buy a single 512 MB or 1 GB chip?

Since no one wants to answer:
    1. check if your laptop supports Dual Channel Ram (it should be, but just see the manual to be sure)
    2. knowledge of what type of RAM you have. This will add or remove a possibility of upgrade

The thing with Dual Channel is, that you have the best performance if you use 2 RAM of the same type (really of the same type: company, size...)
    you could:
    3. Add a 512 MB of RAM of the same type you have
3 b. buy 2 pieces of new RAM of the same type (1 GB + 1 GB, or 2 + 2 GB) and do not forget that your laptop supports this quantity (once again: manual to check)

You will also find in the manual, if your computer supports DDR or same DDR2 RAM (faster)

  • Satellite 4090xcdt - Question about hardware upgrade?

    Hello!
I want to upgrade the hardware in my old satellite 4090xcdt so I want to know what is possible.
    1. HARD drive: is there a maximum or something else?
2 DVD: is it possible to replace the CD on a dvd player? How can I remove the cd player?
3 CPU: is it possible to replace the CPU with a bit more recent? If so, how?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

This unit is an oldie. It s about 7 years and as far as I know it has been bundled with a 4 GB HARD drive.
Unfortunately I put t believe that more HARD drive be recognized on this laptop.
The series XCDT supports 4GB max and XDVD series supports hard drives 6 GB.
Xdvd models were shipped with a DVD - rom drive and these models have been supported: SD-C2102 and SD-C2202
In addition, it is not possible to upgrade the processor.

  • Question about Vista upgrade and using Vista on my laptop

My first post so Hello. I'm in North Ireland and just basically competent so keep this in mind if you answer my question below :)

Need some advice on the Vista program upgrade. I am a resident in the United Kingdom and my laptop is an Equium A100-147. I got got a confirmation online and posted number is + a copy of the receipt of purchase to one address in the Netherlands. Also displayed payment (£16,53) at a different address in the Netherlands.

I want to know is the disc I receive an 'upgrade' disc or a full version with an option of a 'complete installation', but also an upgrade? Also if I do an upgrade or a full install and decide that Vista is not to my likeing running recovery disks provided with the laptop will return its supplied as original state? It would be XP MCE.

Vista will have all the necessary drivers for my laptop hardware work or I'm likely to have to install drivers after upgradeing or Vista installation?

    Thanks in advance... John

For most Windows upgrades are complete windows versions. This means that you can do a clean install. During the new installation the installation program will ask for the old cd and check it. That's all.

Of course, it is possible to return your laptop in the State of origin with the old recovery disks.

  • A few questions about RAM upgrade for Tecra M5 (PTM51E)

    Hallo

I have Tecra M5 (PTM51E). My questions are:

Is it possible to put even more RAM on my laptop? (Now I have 1 GB),
Should what kind of RAM I buy?
    Where can I buy it?

And I can put this RAM on my laptop by myself or it is not so easy to do this?

    Hallo

You can upgrade your Tecra up to 4 GB of RAM. Compatible modules are:

    PA3499U - 1 M 25 (Kit of memory 256 Mo DDR2-667)
    PA3511U - 1 M 51 (Kit of memory 512 MB DDR2-667)
    PA3512U-1M1G(DDR2-667 1GB Memory Kit)
    PA3513U-1M2G(DDR2-667 2GB Memory Kit)
    DDR2-533 256 MB (PA3389U - 2M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-533 PA3412U - 2 M (51)
    1 GB OF DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G)

Use the part numbers and put in the Google. You will find many online shops where you can order.
You can also visit the homepage of Kingston and find compatible modules for your Tecra. Use only the numbers of parts and search for cheaper online store.

    All that s!

Subject of the Exchange there not a lot of philosophy. See page 151 in s manuals for your Tecra.
    Everything is described here.

  • Suggestions and Questions about the upgrade my Hardrive Mac and Ram.

Hi This is my first time asking something in the forums. (At least I think) Well anyway, I got the Macbook Pro Mid 2012 13 "with the retina also runs the OS El captain. I do computer for school and sometimes animation video editing and ive noticed some performance as my projects get bigger and bigger issues. I want to improve my mac, but I'm not very tech savy and don't want to do something useless, so I had a few questions, I wanted to ask you.

Do I need for my hard drive and my Ram?

What effect will the upgrade of my Ram and what effect will be upgrading my hard drive with an SSD?

I saw this SSD online and thought of novice opion that sounds get Id more bang for my buck (link) with her. Is this good? What more to kill? WiIll it still works? Could you suggest some other good affordable options?

My next question if I decide to upgrade my Ram can provide you with some good affordable links to buy of new RAM sticks, is also 8 GB, the best he can do?

My next question I watched a few videos online and by installing the updates level looks really easy and fast. But I use bootcamp (to play games sometimes), and I wanted to know if I save my files on my drive as ive seen people do videos, (something to wipe the drive and put it back in after installing updates) will be I lose my windows 7, I lost the disc to reinstall and he check so I really want to buy a new also do not want to lose the things I put in memory.

From the retina MacBooks you is impossible to pass the ram as it is soldered to the logic board. As with the hard drive, it's just a card ssd and you can't get those anywhere because their hard to find.
