Questions of the font substitution during the creation of the PS file in Distiller PDF

I don't know if this post should go under Distiller Server, but he doesn't know if there is a difference between X Distiller and Distiller Server.

Context: I'm trying to convert postscript on my PC files that come from a single Mac built the program and unfortunately receive the following error message:

%% [Warning: Helvetica not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%
%% [Warning: Helvetica-Bold not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%
%% [Warning: Helvetica-BoldOblique not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%

When I try to convert postscript fonts to PDF in Acrobat Distiller X substitutes in the Arial font. I have a few versions of Helvetica on my PC but Distiller does not recognize them.

My question is: How can I know distill, by default, to substitute for Helvetica loaded on my PC rather than Arial so that I have eliminated the error message and get specific pdf.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You can use the files in distiller by going to settings.  See these two photos (click on it)

I hope this helps.

  • Question about the .vmx file created on ESXi

I'm trying to automate the creation of a virtual machine and take a snapshot. I use the vSphere SDK Perl.

The problem I faced is if I create a virtual machine called TestVM, the .vmx file created on the ESXi is TestVM_1.vmx instead of TestVM.vmx due to which my snapshot creation fails.

I faced the same problem, if I manually create the virtual computer. If there is no other computer virtual with the same name.

A restart of the server ESXi fixed the problem.

  • OCP: Question about the critical files on control and collision

    Hello

I am currently a student at OCP certification exam 1z0-053.

To do this, I bought the all-in-one fixed Oracle Press (http://www.mcgrawhill.ca/professional/products/9780071629188/)

During his studies, I would like to test, to prove things and simulate the operation to get more familiar as possible with important concepts.

The study guide covers the fact that when a critical file is damaged or lost, the proceedings will end. The critical files listed are: all copies of the controlfile, a data file that belongs to the SYSTEM table, a data file which is part of the current tablespace undo.

    As said here's the quote:

Some of the files are important. Damage to a critical file means that the database instance will end if it is open and cannot be reopened until the damage is repaired.

    [...]

Practically the moment where that the damage occurs, the instance will end. As always, first reaction of the DBA to an instance crashed should be to attempt a start. It will fail in NOMOUNT mode, with an error message appropriate. The alert log will show what controlfile copy is missing and also - in the section list of parameters to initialize default - controlfile how many copies there are actually is and where they are.

A self-test at the end of the chapter, it is:

    1. loss of these files will cause a database open failed? (Choose all good answers.)

    A. a controlfile multiplex

    B. A multiplexed log file online

    C. a multiplexed log file archive

    D. an undo tablespace datafile asset

    E. a tablespace temporary assets tempfile

    F. Since the SYSAUX tablespace data file

    G. a file of data space of SYSTEM tables

    H. a data file containing the user's critical data

    [...]

    Answer:

    1. A, D and G. damage to any copy controlfile put an end to the proceedings, as damage to critical tablespaces: SYSTEM and break current tablespace.

So, under the 11.2.0.3 when I delete or corrupt a control file copy, the instance is not crashing and the database continue to work. Alerts log is only regularly notifynig controlfile missing:

    Fri Aug 30 10:16:02 2013

    Errors in the /u01/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/ocp1/ocp1/trace/ocp1_m000_26767.trc file:

    ORA-00202: control file: ' / u01/app/oracle/oradata/ocp1/control03.ctl'

ORA-27041: could not open the file

Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

    Additional information: 3

    I'm not really knowledge.

I have to stick to what is said in the book or the experienced facts?

    Thank you

    Bruno

The information contained in the Guide of the exam are not correct as written.  The Oracle instance would end on the loss of a single control file.  Oracle documentation on the management of the control files is here:

    Management of control files

It says: "If a control file is damaged due to a disk failure, the associated instance should be stopped. Once the drive is repaired, damaged control file can be restored using the intact copy of the control of the other disk file and the instance can be restarted. »

"Stop" means that the instance has become unstable.  Unstable case act differently depending on the situation this way, the book is not (cannot) document the specific behavior that may occur.  While the loss of a control file means that the DBA should be abandoned to the instance, it is a very different thing from the instance to the destination of its own.

The ultimate source is always the Oracle documentation. I checked the page of errata for this book to McGraw-Hill.  I only see an extra.  Submit this to them and get your name on the page as a contributor.

  • Remove an object from the XML file generated by PDF

    Hello

In a step of the workflow user of my PDF, the user presses a submit button that sends XML data to an address. There is an image field that has hundreds of lines of XML code that does not need to send.  Indeed, at the time when this button is pressed "submit", the image field is already "hidden", but of course, it remains in the form.

Is there an any access or visibility of goods which will remove an object enough that it is not transfer with XML?  How would you dynamically remove a field on the user-end?

    Hello

One solution, use an ImageField object instead of an Image object. Then go to object > Binding palette and for binding, select without binding data (or none, depending on your version of the designer of the LC).

Because you are currently using an ImageField you need one line of code to its event docReady (JavaScript):

    this.access = "readOnly";

The lines in the XML data file contains the image to Base64 format.

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • How to manage the image files used in PDF forms

With LiveCycle, I created an interactive form for requests of Help Desk-type and the form works perfectly. I tested it and everything works. See the property. Hide, clear the fields. And all other behaviors I added with the Action Builder.

As a final design feature, on my local machine at work, I've added a header image (which is in My Documents > my pictures). I have tested locally and downloaded the form in Sharepoint and tested from there, and from what I can remember, the form went well. The header was intact. So I assume that type of image has been incorporated somehow.

Then I put the House file and opened it and - Voila! -No header image!

    That's happened?

The image files need to be downloaded and the path relative to the location of the file? For me, it doesn't seem to be a huge problem. Something more. I can probably download the image to a location in Sharepoint, and then set the path to the image in the XML file.

But I would like to hear the experiences of those who have used image files in their LiveCycle Forms.

In the palette object make sure you of incorporate Image data is checked.

  • A question about the security and economies of pdf

Please, I have another couple of questions, but on security and the economies of pdf:

My first question, how can I build a prompt this popup when the form is loaded or open that asks the user a certain password used to show/hide or enable/disable some fields or objects in the form?

My second question, how can I save the form with a name derived from a field value in the form, or a user by name which is entered by a prompt window when the form is opened or initialized?

    Any ideas, please!

    Thank you

    Mustafa

    Hi Mustafa,

I have an example here where the script in the click event of a button prompts the user a password. If they enter the password, then four locked fields are made available to them.

    http://assure.LY/ge8Ra9

You can copy this script to the node docReady event root (usually ' form1'). It would then fire whenever the form is opened.

One thing to keep in mind is that this solution uses a function (called "hex_sha256"), which is within a Script (called "soHASHING_SHA256") object.

This allws function allows you to use the hash key, so even if the user types the password (in this case "1234"), the script converts this value to a hash of key '03ac674216f3e15c761ee1a5e255f067953623c8b388b4459e13f978d7c846f4 '.

This means that if someone looks at the form they cannot determine the password.

Start by copying the script object and the button in your form. Then try to move the script to the button in the docReady event. Take a look by using the LC designer for more information on script objects.

The second issue is possible, but it is considered a security risk, so you will need to use a function of trust (which is in a separate JavaScript file that should be stored on each computer that uses the form). It is very difficult to maintain. There is a long thread here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2266799#2266799

    Hope that helps,

  • question on the form file locking is not editable

  • When the export file .docx for .pdf on iMac functions (such as numbers, page references) are static text display - error?

When I try to export a .docx in .pdf formatting is displayed based on the original field. Rather than show any number of page of the pdf shows "{PAGE}", for example.

I work with Word to Office 365 on an iMac with OS X El Capitan.

Any help? Why is it not possible to create a good ISO pdf / a file?

OK, in my opinion, there is a setting in Word Printing Options. It will vary with the version of Word, here's an example https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/326503

Creation of PDF files will use a printing technology and can be affected by some of the same settings.

I am combining hundreds of original 1-page PDF files in dozens of PDF files. I generated the JavaScript to do this. However, I would like to add bookmarks for some pages, based on the name of the name of the file from this page. Here is a sample of my script combining:

  • Install PT8.53 with Linux: the parameter file "init.ora" question CONTROL_FILE

    People,

I install PeopleTools 8.53 with Linux. I'm confused on the parameter CONTROL_FILES in the file "init.ora". My SID is PT853 with the file "initPT853.ora". In the document setup 8.53 PeopleTools, there are 2 statements about CONTROL_FILES parameter like below:

First of all, Page 161 task b 6-1-3: create an INIT < SID >. ORA file

    CONTROL_FILES = (/ filesystem1/cntrl1 < SID >, / filesystem2/cntrl2 < SID >)

Second, Page 162 task b 6-1-4: creating paths of target directory

    CREATEDB10. SQL script:

    startup nomount pfile = $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/init < SID > .ora

    data file
    ' / u01/oradata / < SID > / system01.dbf' size 400M

    logfile
    ' / u01/oradata / < SID > / log01.dbf'M 70, size
    ' / u01/oradata / < SID > / log02.dbf'M 70, size
    ' / u01/oradata / < SID > / log03.dbf' size M 70;

    Control file references:
    control_files = ("" / u01/oradata/test92/control01.ctl "," / u01/oradata/test92/control02.ctl "," / u01/oradata/test92/control03.ctl "")

When we created PeopleTools 8.53 of database using $PT_HOME/setup/PsMpDbInstall/setup.sh, we need to specify the mount point for the scripts createdb.sql, the utlspace.sql and the xxddl.sql. I use / U01 for all 3 scripts and create the directory/u01/oradata/PT853/manually.

    My questions are:

    Firstly, should the 2 items "/ filesystem1/cntrl1 < SID > ' and ' / filesystem2/cntrl2 < SID > ' CONTROL_FILES be the same with the directory path/u01/oradata/PT853/created manually?

    Second, should "/ filesystem1/cntrl1 < SID >" be changed to "/u01/oradata/PT853/cntrl01PT853.ctl and" / filesystem2/cntrl2 < SID > "be changed to" / u01/oradata/PT853/cntrl02PT853.ctl "in my case?

Thirdly, how to create 2 files 'cntrl01PT853.ctl' and 'cntrl02PT853.ctl '? What are their contents?

    Thank you.

I believe you are trying to create a demo database without understanding of basic on the RDBMS - your last question (to the control file) suggests.

Work with your DBA on the part of database creation.

Please go through the oracle database documentation to get a basic understanding of different files in oracle.

    Now, to answer your questions.

    1. Yes, anything you give in the init ora for parameter control_files file previously should exist while you run your createdb10.sql

    2. change any way you plan make the db files resident. Suppose you want the database in a path like/path/to/database/MYDB - to give him.

    3. you create control separately (in your case) files, the path/name of the file is taken from the init ora file and created as you run create sql db
Content of the control file is in binary format: this is the heart of a database, holds all the information on the database, the name of db, file system, places change number etc...

  • A few Questions about the creative cloud

I read that the Creator Cloud connection will be released in the coming weeks, which is great. I have a few questions about the download file and the creative connection program of cloud.

I have a file which I will download. The contents of this file will be updated periodically locally. I want to do the files in this folder to stay updated between my desktop and laptop. The Creative Cloud connection program will be able to do?

If a file is changed, which is already in the cloud program will recognize the change and stay the cloud?

I guess just a little more information on exactly what will be the program Creative Connection cloud would be nice.

On the topic of storage I will be able to upgrade the standard 20 GB of storage that is available when / if needed? And how much will that be?

    Another question:

When Lightroom 4 will be available via CC and why is it not available when it was released?

Creative Cloud connection will keep files between your desktop and the Web site synchronized. You will be able to add, edit and delete files from each end and that the changes are reflected in both.

To see the connection creative cloud in action, you can watch this video of evangelist Paul Trani Adobe http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-creative-suite-6-creative-cloud-launch-week/adobe-creative - cloud - tour-/.

There will be a way to get more than 20 GB of storage. Adobe Creative Cloud http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html FAQ has a question and an answer about it down:

    Buy extra creative Cloud storage?

Additional storage will be available for purchase later in 2012. If you have reached your storage limit, contact Adobe Customer Service.

Lightroom 4 will be available in a few weeks. Jeff Veen also tweeted this https://twitter.com/#! / veen/status/200810541550288896. Other Articles of Jeff on what comes to the Adobe Creative cloud here in his blog of Adobe http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/coming-soon-to-creative-cloud/.
