Quirks with OneKey

Hi all

Just make a backup today with OneKey Recovery 4.0 on my desktop, the default path is set to the C: drive but on my laptop with OneKey 9.0 it backs up in the service D: partition? I had a quick glance and the service partition is there on my desk. What is interesting is that when you press F2 at the start of my drive HARD works for a bit, then I just get a black screen, I use HDMI but my TV (even though it is in the context of HDMI) says he's DVI is connected. This normally changes during startup and it flashes twice (a DVI and a HDMI which shows the screen for connection etc..)

The default backup location is correct or do I need to change?

The BIOS/OneKey does not work with HDMI screens or is the lousy software?

All advice appreciated!

Callum

Associated with the 'map graphic problem' I had, apologies! : c

    myTextFrame.geometricBounds = GB;

    Why can't do, instead

    It produces an infinite loop...

When you ask the geometricBounds InDesign calculates values, filled them in an array object and which yields to ExtendScript. Subsequently, it's just a picture, without any magic glue to the native InDesign object. You can modify, add, or remove values, and no one cares.

Only by assigning the table (or any other table 4 value) return to the geometricBounds of any element on the page, you spend all values back to InDesign.

  • What is the correct recovery process once upgraded to Windows 10? (No OneKey Recovery)

I have a cell phone Z50-70 which is preinstalled with Windows 8.1. It is an OEM version, with the product key that is stored in the Bios. This is an installation of UEFI.

The vehicle currently has OneKey recovery installed, which, if I understand well (I've not used actually still), allows you to recover from a hard disk recovery partition. This is not a "fresh" Windows 8.1, but an image provided by Lenovo that take back you to the State the laptop was bought originally (will have all software Lenovo and preinstalled drivers).

According to the official upgrade guide Lenovo, before performing the upgrade of Windows 10, we should uninstall basically all software from Lenovo, including OneKey recovery and it won't work in Windows 10.

    Issues related to the:

    1. What is the correct process to recover the system from Windows 10 if something goes wrong? I think that Windows 10 integrates a feature "Reboot your computer" in the settings which I suppose is what we are supposed to use. It would take me to:

    a. a completely new install Windows 10?

    b. a created image during the upgrade from 8.1 to 10, containing all my files etc. when performing the upgrade?

    c. or he would use the recovery partition from Lenovo (which would have used OneKey Recovery if it was compatible) and take me back to 8.1 for Windows?

    (d) another thing?

    2. once I did the upgrade and Windows 10 has successfully activated, I think I could create a bootable with ISO of Windows 10, inside boot media and install a completely new install of Windows 10 and activate it. Theoretically, I could make as many fresh installs from the boot media I want, as long as initially, I did the upgrade (not a clean install), and the hardware of the laptop does not change. Is this correct?

2A. If, therefore, during the first boot media clean installation process, I'd be sure compeletly remove the Lenovo recovery partition entirely and go from there, rely on 'Reset your PC' feature of Windows 10? Could I could use even just reinstall Windows boot again media 10 as a way to recover? If I understand correctly, it is not absurd to keep recovery partition it if it can not be used within Windows 10.

I think I had a desktop PC ordinary with a retail version of Windows, then everything above would be fine. The complications added here are that 1. I have no product key Windows 8.1 (alll is managed by the BIOS) and 2. I have no recovery disk. I want to make sure that I understand everything completely before moving, and potentially do a clean installation using bootable media, so that I don't end up ruin something and end up with either a laptop I can not recover, a Windows installation that is not enabled.

    Thank you.

Update for anyone of another reading:

I just uninstall OneKey recovery on my installation of Windows 8.1 for the upgrade. While Windows is concerned, OneKey Recovery has been completely removed.

The good news is that I then shut down the laptop, you press the novo button, selected "System Recovery" and I was always greeted with OneKey recovery program where I could choose to restore from original image, or a custom image. So I guess that once I have upgraded to Windows 10, I'll always have the option to restore to the factory Windows 8.1 if I ever need/want to.

The confusion seems to be that OneKey recovery software is actually two separate software:

1 OneKey Recovery #1 is installed in the hidden recovery partition which is responsible to perform a system restore from the image of your choice - either the image of plant or a custom image created by #2 OneKey recovery software. OneKey Recovery Software #1 is still accessible via the Novo button.

2 OneKey Recovery #2 is installed on the Windows 8.1 installation, which is responsible for the creation of custom system images. You can also choose to restore the system from here, but AFAIK, it just restarts the computer and OneKey #1 software, which allows you to recover expenses. OneKey Recovery #2 is the software Lenovo told us to uninstall it before Windows 10. However, uninstalling OneKey Recovery #2 let software OneKey Recovery tact #1.

As far as I know, this means that the uninstall OneKey Recovery #2 mean that we lose the ability to create custom system images, but we reserve the option to restore from a system image.

Can anyone confirm that I understood, and that what I said above is indeed the case?

I'm still a little uncertain about what Windows built tens in the willingness to ' PC ' do well - that it will use the Lenovo recovery partition or run a 10 Windows Installer Clean up.

  • OneKey vs System Restore

Hi, reading some POSTS, I know I'm not the only one that is a problem with OneKey and assume that we will have a fix one of these days, I also believe that I'm probably not the only one who doesn't understand the difference between Lenovo OneKey and Microsofts system restore, so if one of you guys can explain the difference (i.e. Why do we have two when using rather a vs the other,...), I'm sure that I won't be alone in saying thank YOU.

    Bob.

I think they are both the same thing, whereas the first is a more accurate system and the second is taking all the exchanges. Not all computer companies come with backup/restore of system software, especially these auto assemblies or generic computers, so tries to Microsoft to respond to this market by including this software. However, my personal experience with the version of Microsoft is that it works so well, so it depends.

  • OneKey Recovery 7 question on Y560

    Hello everyone,

Today, I decided to reinstall my original windows on this device lenovo but he could not help!

I tried to start with OneKey Recovery (as I did twice before), but responded with this error:

(the program cannot find the partition of service. the service is currently not available.)

I assumed that there is changes while I had one tried to partition my hard drive; Therefore, I took this photo of a partition manager if you can help me in detail if that's the case! :

Moreover, the good news is that I did once a backup (2DVDs) of this software drive; However, I don't know if I'm unable to enter the main area, it is possible to use it or not.

Bad news, is that I tried the recovery key, once the laptop was turned off and it didn't work.

Please help me as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance.

exactly once the OKR partition went your disks will not help :/ so to get all this back you must send the laptop of lenovo and that we need to restore all rear disc with his scores again.

  • Y 500 resizing drive (D :) to secure data in OneKey Recovery Lenovo

    Hi all,

you just buy an Ideapad Y500 (1000GB HDD, 16GB SSD, SLI 640 M). Before spoil things, I want to do a restore with OneKey Recovery and safe on disk (D Lenovo, because he says that his default player.) But it is fair to 22.1 GB of free space and the image file is 26.2 GB.

Is there a possibility to extend space (D Lenovo?)

You can store it in an external drive (USB key or drive hard usb). Please do not resize partitions to avoid damaging a key recovery.

  • OneKey onekey lack of space, how to resize?

    Hello

Already, I read several post, but does with a solution.

Just get a Lenovo G50 - 70A with windows 8.1. First thing to do was to make all updates (more than 1, 3 GB). After that I got all the updates, decide to make a make a backup with Onekey, so that I could restore with the new updates, in case of problems.

The laptop has 2 drivers (visible), "c:\". "with windows 8 and"d:\ ". "with Lenovo Onekey.

When I tried, the Onekey, he says that I need 29, 50 GB for backup and only 22, 50 GB (to a 25 GB disc).

    1. How do I resize the disk with OneKey, for to have my backup and have still Onekey working (for what I read, if the player OneKey is resize, OneKey will not work!) I can't believe it's true, do not in any sense.

    2. can I I resize my driver with the SB, without affecting the OneKey? I usually 1 disc with so and another disc with my personal data. Is I need to collect, format, the SO, I won't lose my data.

Thanks for the help and we hope this topic helps others too.

    Hello

My problem is solved. And I'm going to say what I did, and what was the result.

My laptop is the G50-70 has

    OneKey Version 8.0.0.2105

The windows show only 2 drivers for the SO and Lenovo D: backup C:. However there are other partition but are hidden from Society.

After all the updates of windows, I begin the OneKey to perform a new backup. The drive for backup D: have a space of 25 GB, when I tried to make the backup here, it says that I don't have enough space (see my message of previews). So I made a backup to an external driver. When the backup finishes, the backup folder have only about 16 GB! So to copy the folder to the backup driver (D.)

For security reasons, I also did a recovery USB disk as indicated by Solid_Cruver

Here is the tutorial how to make a recovery USB disk

After that, I shrink the driver for 375 GB C: and creat a new driver F: with the new space.

Then start Lenovo and select the recovery option. The letters for the spectacle of drivers are a little different, D: E: drive. (not due to make it smaller and pilots, but system restore see differently). I selected the folder I copied on the D: drive (on the recovery system is E with my new backup.)

The ER was back without any problem.

I did this twice! And it worked.

Note: I have never start OneKey before I made any changes.

So, after all this, I have:

-My backup on Lenovo driver for backups

-A USB key with a recovery system (not tested)

-A new driver for my personal data

    -The driver of SO shrink

    I hope it helps someone.

  • Someone at - he had or having problems with getting nVidia NVS 450 working resolution?

    Hi all

We got a new C20 with a nvidia NVS 450 card - and a $ monitor. The C20 has Windows 7 preinstalled; the out-of-the-box resolution is 640 x 480 and we couldn't make it go higher than that! The $ and the video card are connected via the DisplayPort cable that came with the unit. After you have reinstalled the video card driver that comes with the unit (on a CD containing drivers for Windows and Linux), we could never get to go beyond 640 x 480 resolution. We left thinking that it must be a quirk with Windows 7. We were going to install Linux on the C20 anyway, so we moved on this.

We installed Fedora 14 (64-bit) install the video driver nvidia who was on the CD and cannot get the display resolution greater than 640 x 480. After a few days of tests n errors referring to various online forums, we have successful get resolution up to 800 x 600, but not the expected 1900 - something resolution the $ and video card holders.

Someone at - he had problems with getting the resolution of the video card to work? If so, were you able to solve the problem? We thought we would start here instead to call Lenovo support first, because usually technical questions, we get smarter than over-the-phone responses. Also, waiting for answers on a forum is less frustrating than the vote by phone.

    Chris

    Thank you for your response.

I had the chance to get their hands on another monitor, and when I plugged that, I got the full resolution. After a lot of testing, I decided that it was a faulty monitor and it had nothing to do with the video card. I finally got a replacement screen for the one who wasn't giving me the full resolution.

Subsequently, I went ahead and got the latest drivers nvidia on their Web site. Everything works fine now.

  • Can someone explain please OneKey "Acceleration" of the optimizer?

On my Lenovo Z70-80 (8.1), I am presented with the following optimizations.
I can't find all the items help as to what everyone does.

I don't feel comfortable just by applying (especially if they make the registry changes), I want to understand what each of them and how to reverse the trend if I want to.

Can someone Lenovo please explain what each of them?

    (1) to optimize the configuration of memory
    (2) improve the response time of applications in the foreground
    (3) optimize the boot partition
    (4) maximize storage on hard drive
    (5) optimize hard disk access
    (6) optimize hard disk access speed

    Hello

I managed to recreate the error entry "Fastboot didn't work (disable)" and here are the steps to make it work:

    1. update the OneKey optimizer at v1.2.24.07 (previously 1.0.49.16)

2 disable the quick start and then go to the files tab optimized and restore all entries related to the hard drive optimized and inputs of optimized Boot Partition then reboot (you should see that the fastboot.log is no longer produces an error).

3 re-enable all the entries you disabled in step 3 then restart (you should see the error "Fastboot didn't work (disable)")

4 restart 3 times more, and you should now see "Fastboot worked (enable)" (it seems that it takes a few reboots to fully optimize the system).

I tried the steps above on a Y510p with OneKey optimizer v1.2.24.07. I can't tell if it's going to be the case even on a Z50-80, there are currently no here sampling unit in the laboratory.
