  • Anyone know a good event management tool that integrates well with Eloqua?

Anyone know a good event management tool that integrates well with Eloqua?  The tool would deal with everything associated with the event as: management agenda, registration, monitoring, reports, etc., but integrated with Eloqua in a way that allows you to trigger emails to confirmations, reminders and thank you and facilitates the exchange of information of contact/participant and campaign.    Think of something as integration between Eventbrite and Eloqua (although we are not looking at Eventbrite specifically).

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Sissi,

Yes. Rapid deployment would be appropriate.

Also, as you do this for the purpose of learning, I suggested to be in my experience at least 4 GB of RAM. (because Windows 7 takes about 1 GB of RAM & remaining 3 can be used by the virtual machine, so 4 GB is better for optimal performance).

If you want to watch the Oracle RAM in case specifications, its 16 GB

  • ESX 4.1 and ESXi4.1 - Dell management tools

OK, so what I understand starting with ESX 4.1 there is no console service, correct?

So if we are moving from 4.0 to 4.1 to just install ESXi now that comes preinstallled with Dell management tools or keep with ESX 4.1?  If so, how do install us these tools once the console service disappeared?

    Hello.

OK, so what I understand starting with ESX 4.1 there is no console service, correct?

The service console is still there in ESX 4.1.  This will be the last version of the product to be shipped with the service console.

So if we are moving from 4.0 to 4.1 to just install ESXi now that comes preinstallled with Dell management tools or keep with ESX 4.1?

It boils at ease you are away of ESX and passes with ESXi and perhaps how much you rely on the service console.  On the operational level, things are different.  Do you have other agents or applications that require the service console?

If so, how do install us these tools once the console service disappeared?

For Dell boxes, you download Dell OpenManage Offline and VIB for ESXi group and then manage it remotely.  You use the vSphere CLI or vMA to install the bundle VIB offline.

    Good luck!

  • There is a photo management tool/plugin?

I still own LR. This is the feature of development is really superb. Much better than any tool PP, I have used in the past.

A gap that I find with LR, however, is its photo management tool.  I used ACDSee Picture Manager, among other things, in the past, the management of photo in ACDSee was really good and intuitive. The following functions have been really practical in ACDSee that I find missing in LR.

    • Group (in addition to sorting) by almost any criteria - original date, day, month, camera, focal, etc..
    • Display a number any of attirbutes - camera, resolution, size, etc.
    • batch renaming practice
    • Travel and single copy

As you can see, these are all file management functions. LR has these functions as well?

If this isn't the case, maybe I'll have to use both tools after all - LR for development and ACDSee Photo Manager for managing files.

Certainly, Lightroom is a photo management tool that compares well with ACDSee. There are probably advantages and disadvantages to each, but everything on your list is present in LR except display resolution (if by that you mean pixels per inch of the photo).

    1. Grouping, as this can be done through the bar filter or smart collections
    2. The metadata panel displays the attributes
    3. F2 rename batch
    4. Move photos is done via the Control Panel folder. LR does not copies, as the paradigm Lightroom does not make real copies. It includes no virtual copies. Of course, you can create copies via another tool, the file-> export. You can make copies in your operating system.

But if you want LR to have the same flow of work/features/ease of use/etc, like ACDSee (or Bridge, Photoshop Elements or any other program), let's be honest, it's not. The programs work differently. You will need to learn the methods and mechanics of each program. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and LR has a lot of 'pros' for its photo management tools.

  • Graphical management tool?

    Hi all

I just inherited a legacy DB Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition, and a program called SQL Plus (version 8.0.6.0.0). I used SQL Server 2005, a bit, but new to Oracle. My first question is 'is it a management tool graphic similar to SQL Server Management Studio or SQL Server Management Studio Express?

I'm also in the DB. And with SQL more, how do I know the primary keys and foreign keys of all tables?

Wow, to 8.0 which is * really * a system inherited! ;-) This version of Oracle has not been supported in this Millennium. The documentation available to the tahiti.oracle.com online only back to 8.1, but it should at least give you a good start.

I started with Oracle 7.3, but at this point cannot even remember what the GUI management tools looked like before 9i. (Is that what gives you an idea of how really obsolete 8.0 is?  ;-)) Although I'm sure there's a form any of Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Go to tahiti.oracle.com and select the documentation for 8.1.7... It is also close to your version because you'll be able to get, and I think that for your application, it will be good enough for some time. Select the 'List of books' tab, then search for books dealing with "Enterprise Manager"

And while we're at it, do not think a minute Oracle resembles anything SQL Server. They are all two relational databases, but residents are very different. Even the terminology is different - same words, different concepts. The first thing that you need to get your head, is that a "database" in SQL Server is not the same concept as a "database" in Oracle. Almost, you need to clear all that you have learned about databses SQL Server before the Oracle.

It would be a good investment in your career to go to tahiti.oracle.com. Explore your product and version. You will find the complete library of doc.

Note the 'search' on this site.

You should spend a few minutes just familiarize themselves with this * kind * documentation is available by simply browsing the titles under the "Books" tab

Open the reference manual and spend a few minutes looking through the table of contents for you familiarize with this * kind * information is available here. When looking for things to the top in the documentation of learning is time well spent.

Do the same with the SQL reference manual.

Do the same with the utilities manual.

Then, set a plan to dig deeper.
-Read a chapter a day from the Concepts manual.
-Look in your journal alerts and find all the parms listed at the start of the instance default initialization. Then find out about each of them in the reference manual. Take a look at your listener.ora and tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora files, then bounce what you see here, in the manual of network administrators.
-When you have finished reading the manual of Concepts, do it again.

  • question of R12 DR eBS

    Hello

We are in the process of implementation of DR to our Production eBS R12 environment, our Prod is currently as below

    PROD-

    OS: RHEL 5.11

    eBS: 12.1.3

    DB: 11.2.0.4

    Catalog RMAN DB

    OS: RHEL 5.11

    DB: 11.2.0.4

We use the catalog db to back up our database of PROD and db itself catalogue is supported by rman.

Now, I am the rest of the document ' Business Continuity for Oracle E-Business release 12.1 Using Oracle 11g Release 2 Physical Standby Database (Doc ID 1070033.1) ' understand the concept and use it as a reference.

But I have question about the catalog RMAN DB. Apart from BSE synchronized to DR server, I plan to create a catalog rman standby server and will be this synchronization of production so rman.

Reason I think is so we have our eBS and RMAN catalog getting synchronized production and accident permanently, I simple raise these two databases on the site of the disaster. Thus backup can continue as usual.

Is this the right approach for RMAN DR database as well? or how your environment is configured if you have the catalog db with eBS?

    Thanks in advance.

Is this the right approach for RMAN DR database as well? or how your environment is configured if you have the catalog db with eBS?

--> There is not as the good or bad approach. Given the DR for the catalog database RMAN in my opinion is unnecessary. It's just more maintenance and fees. Instead, I follow below process provided by Oracle in the documentation.

    ***********************************************************************************************************

Follow these steps when developing a strategy for RMAN backup to the recovery catalog database:
Run the database catalog of recovery in ARCHIVELOG mode, so that you can do point-in-time recovery if necessary.
Set the retention policy to REDUNDANCY greater than 1.
Back up the database on two separate media (for example, disks and tapes).
Run the BACKUP of DATA PLUS ARCHIVELOG at regular intervals, to a Media Manager if available, or simply to drive.
Do not use another catalog of recovery as a repository for backups.
Configure automatic backup of the control file you.
