SQL and net framework service pak updates

When I get an update for these, and I think that they are cumulative, that I have to keep the previous updates or delete/uninstall to save hard disk space and eliminate clutter

Hi Pum9,

Updates are additions to software that can prevent or solve problems, enhance the security of the computer, or improve the performance of the computer. Strongly, we recommend that you turn on Windows Update of Windows to install automatic security and other important or recommended updates for your computer as they become available.

If you uninstall the updates, they will be released via windows update. It is not recommended to remove the updates, because updates can enhance the security of your computer.

Please let us know if you need additional assistance.

Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista, the speakers and the headphones stopped working.

    Can someone help pleeeeeeeease.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think you should just go to the Device Manager and should remove (uninstall) the audio driver.
Then go to the Toshiba European page, choose your model of laptop, download the audio driver and unzip the package.
    Reboot the laptop.

After the Win operating system has started, the new device (sound card) should be recognized and the operating system asks for the driver.
Now, you must point to the driver package that you have downloaded from the page and must be reinstalled the driver.

  • Microsoft NET Framework Service Pack 1 - Code 80070017

I recently bought a second hand computer laptop for the school that my old broke and I of course checked Microsoft Update and found two important updates and an optional update, so I chose my updates and one of the important and the other optional installed fine, then I retried an improtant installation which was the net and she has not yet so I came here.

0 x 80070017 = this problem may occur if there is a failure of control of cyclic redundancy (CRC) check during the update process. This failure can occur if the received file is not the file that is expected by Windows Update

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods.

    Method 1

Run the Chkdsk.exe tool to check the drive for errors

For Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start, type cmd in the Search box, right-click cmd in the programs list, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click continue.

    2. at the command prompt, type Chkdsk/fand press ENTER.

    3. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    4. close all applications and restart the computer.

Note When you restart, Windows checks the drive for errors, and then starts.

    5. once the computer has been restarted, install the updates again.

If method 1 does not resolve this problem, try Method 2.

    Method 2

For Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, follow these steps:

    1. click on Start, type notepad in the Start Search box, and then click Notepad in the list of programs .

2 copy the following commands, and then paste them into the Notepad file:

    net stop wuauserv

    CD %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution

    Download of ren Download.old

    net start wuauserv

    3. on the file menu, click on record under.

    4. in the file name box, type rename.bat, and then click on all files (*. *) in the Save as type box.

5 save the file rename.bat on the desktop.

    6. right click on the rename.bat file, and then click run as administrator.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    7. try to install the updates again.

That's what the Setup log gives me after that windows is unable to install net framework 3.5 sp1. I sure would appreciate it if someone could help me solve this problem. I just bought this pc about 2 months ago and it's the first question that I lived with her. Thank you

To successfully install the update, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework on the computer, and then reinstall all the versions of the .NET Framework on the computer. You may need to work through more than one of the following methods.

Method 1: Manually remove and reinstall .NET Framework

To remove and reinstall .NET Framework manually, follow these steps:

    1. remove the .NET Framework.

    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

    b. double-click Add or remove programs.

    c. Note each version of the .NET Framework is already installed on the computer. Then, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework.

    d. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

    2. use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to clean up the State of MSI database for all versions of the .NET Framework.

.      Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

    a. install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility as an administrator or a user account that is a member of the local Administrators group.

    b. Click Start, point to all programs and then click Windows Installer Cleanup.

    (c) in the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, remove all Windows Installer for the .NET Framework applications.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. download and reinstall all the versions of the .NET Framework that were previously installed on the computer.
To download .NET Framework 3.5, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4e35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en (5. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

Note When you have reinstalled all the versions of the .NET Framework, you can use Windows Update to check for the updates of the .NET Framework.

Method 2: Use the .NET Framework automatic cleanup tool

This tool is not designed as a substitute for the standard uninstall procedure. You should try to perform an uninstall by following the steps in method 1, earlier in this article, before using this cleanup tool.

The .NET Framework cleanup tool removes the .NET Framework for you. For more information about how to obtain and use this tool, visit the following MSDN Web site:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/05/30/611355.aspx

Note that this cleanup tool deletes shared files and the registry keys that are used by several versions of the .NET Framework. To ensure that all versions of the .NET Framework work correctly, if you run the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework, you must first remove all installed versions of the .NET Framework using this cleanup tool. Then, you must reinstall all previously installed versions, starting with the version number the lowest.

Suppose you have the .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your computer, and you plan to use this cleanup tool. In this scenario, you use the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework 1.1 first and then use the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework 2.0. After you remove the two versions, you reinstall .NET Framework 1.1 and then install the .NET Framework 2.0, in that order.

  • Increase the memory by deleting the old service paks.

Can I remove the old service paks, updates and free memory on my hard drive?

Can I remove the old service paks, updates and free memory on my hard drive?

Not the way you think about it no doubt.

When you install Windows updates, the system stores the information that can be used if you decide that you want to uninstall this update.  If decide you want to NEVER uninstall the updates, you can delete these folders from $ $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx (though it would be prudent to burn these files on a CD first).  For instructions, seehttp://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm

There are several other things you can do to free up hard disk space, although more sooner rather than later, you should just buy a larger hard drive.  You may be able to add a second hard drive if you have a desktop computer with a vacant drive bay or you can simply replace your existing with a larger hard drive.  Where you replace, you would "clone" existing than newer, bigger hard drive in order to preserve all your applications and data.

    In the meantime:

Run Disk Cleanup: start > run > cleanmgr > OK

Make sure that the system restore use not more than about 1 GB. See http://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskspace.html

If you use Hibernation, consider disabling.  It's not earning a lot of disk space: hibernation uses a quantity of disk space equal to the amount of RAM you have.  Control Panel > Power Options > hibernation.

Uninstall applications you do not use.

Download and run JDiskReport (it's free, and you can uninstall it when you're done).  This will show you what files are too much space on your hard drive so that you can decide what, if anything, you are ready to delete (or move to other storage media) in order to save space.

Unless you have a program or game that requires net framework... you don't need her.

NET framework... are optional / recommended updates and if your windows setting updates are like that, you can clearly see it's an optional update

Focus on only important updates and even of their research before you download and install

The extent of the 4.5.2 n.f.. I have it, but I also have programs that need

4.6.1... If I needed it would be delivered through important updates that you noted that you have for 4...
