  I can't help you with the trend, but from memory, you must allow it's Installer to download to facilitate the download and installation etc.

  Windows Vista SP2 came out mid-2009.  You should have gotten a long time ago.

  You can try with below steps if you want:

  Folder Temp light 1).

  (2) close all running Applications.

  (3) close webistes all opened browser.

  (4)disable the firewall temporarily.

  (5) open only Adobe Web site as it is safe and secure site free of all kind of threats.

  (6) then try to download CS 6 Design Standard and check.

  Note: Though the firewall is disabled. do not open applications, files or even other Web sites.

  Or if you think it is still very slow and would not turn off the firewall , you can try with 3' rd party like download managers: IInternet Download Manager , which is more efficient than the browser built in downloader.

  Answer your first question: you can install Oracle ATG Web trade (10.0.3) Media Pack for UNIX systems, but this version is old.

  Answering your second question: you should read the ATG compatibility matrix in order to integrate the ATG with R12 on Linux 32-bit application. This is new for me.

  First of all, your decision to install on Linux ATG is prefect. Linux is fast and give you less pain.

  ATG consumes a lot of memory. There a lot of integration such as ATG Core, PlatformServices, MDEX, ToolsAndFramework modules as well as you create two instances of server for editing and PRODUCTION environments. Your Linux 32 bit even will slow you the installer more than 3 GB of memory.

  This is common for 32-bit operating systems.

  The latest version of ATG 10.2 is the recommended version. There are significant changes in short search engine integration.

  It's really good if you can go with 64-bit Linux. I installed ATG 10.2 64-bit in the following operating systems.
