  I got a few BSOD - 0 x 00000109 - errors that I work.
  I ran memtest86 for a few hours and he scored 4 errors during test cycles 7.

  I started to individually test RAM when I noticed a quirk in the way they were organized in their locations.
  I downloaded the manual for my P9X79 and he confirmed that they were arranged in mirror mode.
  I switched two of the sticks to adjacent slots and, Lo and behold, the full 16 GB presented at startup.
  So that's one mystery solved at least.
  I'll raise the memtest to see if it includes several errors and if so will continue to individually control the RAM sticks.

  Here, I have little doubt. What is the difference between compatible.rdbms and the compatible parameter database.

  We have a 2 node RAC on solaris. When I checked at the ASM instance level I found compatible.rdbms has the value 10.1.0.0.0 and compatible.asm 11.2.0.0.0 and compatible database is set to 11.2.0.0.0.

  Please guide me it will make a difference. Or I have to change the compatible.rdbms to a higher value.

  When compatible.rdbms is set to 10.1.0.0.0, this means that the instance ASM (version 11.2.0.0.0) is compatible to support lower versions of instances of RDBMS from version oracle 10.1.0.0.0.

  If you don't want the ASM instance in support of the lower courts of RDBMS version, you can change the setting.

  The WS - X 6381-IDS is supported in native IOS version 12.1 (8A) EX for Sup2/MSFC2 or later and 12.1 (11) E for Sup1a/MSFC2 if I remember correctly.

When a card says Cisco's fabric switch crossbar "compatible", it means that the card has additional hardware to connect to new tissue crossbar.   My suggestion is to go with El Capitan and ignore the messages of gloom & doom on this subject. The vast majority of those who have problems with El Capitan loading third-party software questionable on their Mac and which is causing their problems.

  Either way, I've had no problem on one of my Macs or have users that I help support.

  If you are still uncomfortable on El Capitan, download and install on an external drive and a test drive first.

  Of course, your first step is to backup everything just in case.
