RAC and non-RAC db backup script

Hi all

I need to create a hot backup RMAN script for a hot full backup of database RAC 2 nodes 11.2.0.4 version.

I have a script that works perfectly in the stand-alone database. This script ran in the database of no - ASM no CARS.

It is: if I implement the rman script no CARS on a RAC 2 nodes using ASM database, should I change something? I don't have much experience with rman.

Thank you.

KZ

Hello

same RMAN commands should work in the CARS and environment not RAC, but it depends on how you have configured the script.

have you configured snapshot controlfile on shared location?

RMAN > show parameter snap

Thank you

  • Rescue and recovery lists no backup on USB Iomega eGO drive

    Hello

I have been using an Iomega eGO external backups USB drive.

I was able to identify and remove (if necessary) backups in Windows 7 and rescue & recovery running, but I can't get the list of backups at the start of a recovery in rescue & recovery DVD.

Basically I replaces unencrypted with a SSD hard drive that supports encryption.

The goal was to use a full backup immediately before removing the HARD drive to restore the complete system.

At the start of the recovery DVDs, recovery utility & rescue lists not all backups, even when the check box for the list of backups on other systems is checked.

It makes no difference if the selection of THE places or USB external drive.

    Any ideas?

Backups are not much good if you can't get back them.

If my old drive did not then I would be in a worse state than this. I can't say I'm impressed.

Well, I've finally sorted this issue.

I tried to create a new recovery disk.

I even tried the recovery time in Windows and see what backups it detected. Yet once, I drew a blank.

    The question was this:

On my W510 at least, none of the USB3.0 ports are recognized by Lenovo rescue and recovery software when you select the USB storage device. Once connected to a single USB 2.0 port the USB eGo has been recognized and listed backups.

Unfortunately, this means a minimum of 6 hours to restore from a full backup!

  • MAXL - Backup Script Essbase for lack of encrypted password

I went through the steps of...

    1. creation of public/private keys

    2. password encryption

    3. pass these components in the backup script Essbase

From the kick-off of the EssbaseBackup.bat, it fails to connect with the username password / encrypted.

If I remove the encrypted password and instead, encode the password, it connects fine and generates the backup file Essbase.

Anyone of you people seen this behavior before?  All good pointers trying to solve this problem?

    Appreciate any feedback.

It would have been useful to see your script too, but looks like you are missing $key in your statement at the opening session.

    It should be something like:

    login administrator $key 23958236592475923472398969868968756 ON HYPERION;

I'm assuming you use you're maxl script with the parameter-d and the provision of key private after him.

If you set UP CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON, then you don't need separate steps to back up the control and the spfile.  In fact, I do not think that you don't even need to do. Any time that the backup is a backup of the table system (datafile #1) space, it will also create a backupset to include the control file and the spfile.  Try it yourself.

Everything in your summary of the list 'backup' is already included in your backup of 'list '.

I would add 'delete all entries "for the backup of the archivelogs. '.  If you do not, then eventually your archivelog destination fills. (Well, if you check in CRF, then it will delete archives when there need more space - if it can and do not compromise your position of recovery.)

In addition, to overlap/remove expiration on safeguards, I would do the same for the archivelogs.

  • Root AND non-root ssh access

    Hello

Is it possible to leave the root and non-root ssh users access on a server esxi (3.5).

I like my scripts to a minimum access but keep my root access on the server.

The solution w on the yellow bricks, where everything indicates, disables the root access.

    Thank you

The user that you create has a valid shell?

During the user add (using VIC), you can specify this option... or you need to check/etc/passwd to see if the shell is the same of the root user.

    Hello

I would just give you the highlights as I would:
    (1) create a shell script which create directory unix with date (e.g., mkdir/somepathhere / 'date' +%Y.%m.%d__%H%M%S ")
    (2) generate the script in which backup command in "xyz" will have xyz format, replaced by the path of complete directory of point 1.

  • Downloaded my site and none of the pictures show

I just uploaded my site to my hosting provider, and none of the images are appearing. I downloaded everything... all the .html files, the pictures folder, the .css file, the scripts folder, the .xml file, etc, etc and nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (He was going well when he I spotted in the browser.)

    This is the site:

    http://www.darkvalentinepress.com/index.html

    Hi JSillesen,

When the web site is exported for the first time the image file is created with a small 'i '. But when you export to a location where the folder already exists, then name in has not changed. This could be what has happened with you. Try to export the web site in a new folder and check if it was created with a capital 'I' or an 'i' small.

    Kind regards

  • issue of license - productive and non-productive - what is average?

    Me again,

in my company, we have a pool of users Oracle we use in production. It's 10 Oracle users under license.

Right now, on my server, I have 9 Oracle users running (each of them is connected to the application). In the next week, I would create 2 users Oracle. My Oracle user pool is 10 so I need a more additional user. After a short discussion with my boss we have decided to cut an existing user and start a new.

In this case on my server will be 11 users:

10 in production (related to applications)
1 with the data of production but turned off (stored on the server for backup)

In this case... Should I buy next user Oracle?

What is the average productive and non productive user in ORACLE? Where can I find detailed information.

p.s. English sf... I hope that its clear...

Database licensing is per user / device OR per processor. It is not by the number of accounts created in the database.

There is no such thing as "productive and non-productive." You could Test/development and Production. Any Test/development environment that takes care of the Production must also be dismissed.

  • Backup in videos and photos as iTunes backup

My son has a ton of pictures (and videos) on his iPhone 5s. There are currently on IOS 8.x. I want to upgrade his phone to the standard ISO 9.x. If I connect to iTunes and do a "backup", everything on the phone (including photos and video) gets backup upward? I know that when I connect my iPhone, the Photo app opens asking me to download my pictures from my phone. I know that it is a good idea as well, but if I skip that step and JUST do the iTunes backup, I know where I have to erase and restore the backup? I will answer all my photos as well?

    Thank you.

    On the backup and restore

1 choose a backup method iOS (if I use iTunes or iCloud to save...)

    2. backup and restore your iOS Device with iCloud or iTunes

    3 iTunes: IOS backups

    4. create and delete iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch backups in iTunes

5 iOS: troubleshooting of encrypted backups

    6. find and manage your iTunes backups

    7. backups iTunes-About iOS

    8. If you need help, restore from a backup of iTunes

    9. restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup

    10. on safeguards in iCloud and iTunes

A particular interest should be 10 point above which explains how iOS and iTunes backups differ. Normally, the photos are stored on the computer or in a pictures/iPhoto library, rather than in iTunes or iOS because of concerns of the storage space. It's the same for videos. Both, however, can be stored in your iTunes for syncing your devices.

I just got the 6s more and chose an old backup date of previous phone. How can I do it again now that my phone is done with the set up?

I don't know what you mean by redo. If you want to restore from a more recent backup, you can do so, providing that you have a more recent backup.

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support

If you have a backup you want to restore, you must first clear the device in settings > general > reset > erase content and settings. After the unit starts again, you will be at the activation screen and will be able to restore this backup, when you get to this point in the implementation process.

If you back up with iTunes and you want to restore a backup from there, you will have the option to select all the backups that you have when you select restore from a backup.
