Race Will EVGA GEFORCE GT740SC (nvidia chipset) GPU a P7-1297cb Pavilion

Bought the new GPU to upgrade GPU FRIEND on board.  New GPU works very well in the former office of Dell XP and Dell's old GPU works on HP location PCIe.  Both are plug-and-play easy, but new GPU Nvidia locked up HP desktop when starting.  I tried:

Updated to 500W power supply

disabled graphics driver ATI (Device Manager)

uninstalled ATI graphics driver

Uninstall DDU tool pilot part 3

sure to remove old drivers mode connections and admin

uninstall all ATI Control Panel tools

System STILL crashes just after the hp splash screen appears during startup if the EVGA GPU is installed.

Has proven again GPU works in the other machine.  The pair proved HP PCIe slot works with other GPU, don't get along.

No BIOS option to disable GPU on board.

Gossip Internet says THAT BIOS HP is very limited in support of the spare parts and particularly recent edition GPU.  Y at - it a hope or should I return this GPU?

Hi @CDH2016,

Thanks for the reply. ATI Radeon cards seem to be an obvious choice. I understand the bios. Contact a technician on site to find the right compatible card. There are a huge number of cards on the market and it is not possible to dabble with each of them. You have been awesome and incredibly thorough in your troubleshooting. Hats off to you.

Hope that answers your question. Please keep me in the loop. Please mark this message as "acceptable Solution" if it helps. Bravo would be also appreciated for my efforts by clicking on the "Thumbs Up" button,

  • Can I put an EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2 GB in my HP Pavilion Elite 380 t

I currently have the ATI Radeon HD 5450 video card came with my HP Pavilion Elite 380 t when I bought it a few years ago.  I now use the new 2014 Cloud Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition products.  I get messages saying the GPU requires approved graphics card NVIDIA and CUDA 5.0 or later, the Mercury playback engine, etc.  A friend suggested making an EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2GB.  I'm trying to figure out if this is a good option, and if I can put it in my current computer.

    Hello

Let us know how the 640 works for you.

  • Photoshop CS6 does not recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675 M GPU?

I just bought a brand new Alienware M17x R4 with Windows 8 Pro x 64 and Photoshop CS6 does not recognize my NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675 M GPU?

I've already updated Windows 8, Photoshop and graphics drivers from Nvidia.

Any ideas?  I spent so much on a nice graphics card, but now it seems that PS CS6 cannot even use.  It uses rather the HD4000 Intel:

    pscs6.png

    I also tried this: http://forums.Adobe.com/message/4545768#4545768

And remove the settings, but that didn't help.

According to this, my graphics card should work, it's an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675 M, which is a 600 GPU series: http://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop/KB/Photoshop-CS6-GPU-FAQ.html#tested_cards

Tested for Photoshop CS6 video cards

Adobe has tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6. This paper presents the video card in the series. The minimum amount of RAM supported on video for Photoshop CS6 cards is 256 MB. 13.1 Photoshop cannot display features 3D if you have less than 512 MB of VRAM on your video card.

Important: This document is updated as newly released cards have been tested. However, Adobe cannot test the cards timely. If a video card is not listed here, but was released after may 2012, you can assume that the card will work with Photoshop CS6.

Adobe tested laptops and desktops of the following cards versions. Don't forget to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names).

    nVidia GeForce 8000, 9000, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 series

I'm out of ideas.  Any suggestions?

So, I thought about it... duh.

My bad... or rather, Nvidia is bad!

In their app Profiler, they set Photoshop to use the settings "by default", which defaults to the built-in graphics card.  By changing the profile so that it uses the discrete graphics, it worked!

It also fixed my issue of the flashing background / flicker.

    I know it's a bug known with Windows 8 + AMD (http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/image-background-transparent-or-flickers.html)

However, Adobe should look at this same bug occurring with the HD4000 Intel Integrated GPU, because this happened with my laptop.

Maybe this bug does not occur on systems that don't have a GPU integrated, but on systems with Optimus, that's certainly a reproducible issue.

When I go to integrated, the question pops up again.

It's nice that Nvidia offers an option for us to use the graphics integrated or discrete, however, Adobe must proceed and make sure that Photoshop doesn't wig when we use the Integrated GPU.  Sometimes, your customers need to do work on the energy of the built-in battery, so the flicker /flashing / transparent background bug should definitely be fixed.

Personally, I can get 6 hours out of this laptop that runs the built-in GPU, but when I use the discreet, he cut down to only 2 hours.

  • the EVGA GeForce GTX SC 760 will work on my h8 - 1360t with motherboard Formosa?

Maybe a silly question but will the EVGA GeForce GTX SC 76 working mother FORMOSA on a map?

    Sticknrudder, welcome to the forum.

Not ridiculous at all in question.  It is difficult to know which video cards work in computers of nowadays.  I had to do a lot of research, including telephone calls to EVGA and XFX Support' are.

In this case, the video card will not work in your computer.  All the GT to introduce 640 EVGA video cards require a complete UEFI BIOS into the motherboard.  HP didn't start to use a complete UEFI BIOS until October 2012.  Your computer was released in July 2011.

In addition, most of the newer cards will require a power supply unit (PSU) upgrade.  It is, in other words, you have chosen the 460W or 600W PSU when you purchased the computer.  Even the 460W may not be enough to power for some of the cards.

MSI makes a video card with a hybrid VBIOS with a switch to select an inheritance or a UEFI BIOS.  There's a video in the link I provided just below the map image.  Paul of Newegg has done a good job of explining map.  I suggest you contact their Technical Support to ensure that it will work on your computer.  It is 9.84 "in length.  I suggest to make a model of the size of the card to ensure that it will not go in the space provided if they say that it will work.

    Hello

I just bought new EVGA Geforce GTX 750 ti SuperClocked for my Pavilion HP H8-1114 and when I replaced the old GPU's GT 520 with the new, but it does not work and the freez of screen with the blue screen of HP and beeps several times.

I found the same problem and it is resolved here:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/desktop-hardware/new-graphic-card-GeForce-GTX-750-TI-failing-on-HP-PAVI...

Exactly the same problem that I have that my HP desktop computer is a more recent one year, so the question is if I do the same thing that sugested him will be resolved? If this isn't the case, could you please solve the problem for me. Because I believe that there is no problem with my PC hardware and it should work fine.

    Best regards and thank you

    -Ken

    Hi Ken,

Watch high aon back of the graphics card for a switch.  See the image below.

You should have received a leaflet in the box describing the use of the switch (legacy mode or UEFI).  If your PC is a version 8 HP BIOS then disable secure boot if set. If your PC isn't at the level of the BIOS version 8 and then the switch must be in position inherited.  The brochure should describe the use of the switch.

  • Want an EVGA GeForce GTX760 upgrade or 770?

Want to update the current NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 graphics with 4 GB of my HP ENVY Phoenix 810-160 with a with an EVGA GeForce GTX760 or 770 or equivalent (faster).  This card will agree and will work in the Phoenix 810 - 160?  Just bought the computer.  Use it with Adobe Premier Pro and PS, After Effects for video editing.

    Thanks for your help.

Mike, welcome to the forum.  Great computer.  As you can see in my signature, I have a Phoenix 810-135qe.  I upgraded to an SSD of 840 to EVO from Samsung which has significantly increased performance.

Here is a video card that works in your computer.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.

The 760 GTX is 9.5 "in length.  I am not sure that it would install in the space provided.

  • EVGA GeForce GTX 650 desktop computer HP Pavilion HPE h8-1120une Ti

I have had this computer ( http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03000614 ) this computer for about 2-3 years and I plan on updating my the 530 gt graphics card to the gtx 650 ti ( http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Dual-Link-Graphics-01G-P4-3650-KR/dp/B009KUT322/ref=sr_1_3?s=elec... ) that my old card can't handle modern games for example battlefield etc. 4.

I'm not an expert in the technology when it comes to the installation of pc hardware. If someone could give me any insite on how this can be done or if my pc case will be ENOUGH space or that it is compatible with my motherboard / bios of the computer/etc for this graphics card!

    Thanks for your time

    John, welcome to the forum.

The video cardback in your case.  It is 6 "x 4,38".  However, the power supply unit (PSU) in the computer is only 300W.  The card requires at least a 400W POWER supply.  This would require an upgrade of the PSU, as well.  In addition, the card has a connector 6 extra pins.  The current PSU will not have the necessary cable for extra power.

I like to use Newegg to review components.  Normally, they have the best section 'Technical data' for the products they sell.

Here are requirements for the battlefield 4.  You have reason to believe that a video card is your weakest component.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c: black screen of death because of the new graphics card (EVGA geforce gtx 960)

I just bought a new card (EVGA geforce gtx 960) to kick some butt. But during installation, it seems to be held on a black screen of death? Not the most fun to see... in any case, I had asked the store clerk if it would work and he said to, but it doesn't seem like it does... Is there a new BIOS I should download or something? Any help would be nice...:.

My computer is a HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1213c

The graphics card is an EVGA geforce gtx 960

If you have both. You can use one or. PIN 8 can be used as a 6 pin as well.

    http://www.EVGA.com/products/ProductList.aspx?type=0 & Family = GeForce + 900 + Series + Family & Chipset = GTX + 960

2 smaller cards use a single PIN 6. The rest use a single 8 pin.

  • SOS - NVidia Chipset, Vista 64-bit, Intel Quad core CPU & > 4 GB RAM questions

    Hello!
One cannot explain the question about more than 4 GB of RAM, 64-bit Vista Ultimate, NVidia Chipset and Intel Core 2 Quad CPU.
I have a MSI P6N SLI Motherboard (NVidia Nforce 650i SLI Chipset) with 6 GB of RAM DDR2 800, Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, 2 x GeForce 8600GT in SLI Mode.
32 bit Vista ultimate works fine with my PC, but whenever I try to install a 64-bit windows vista Ultimate Edition, a BSOD with the STOP error message is displayed. Not much happens if the RAM is reduced to 3 GB. The most strange, when I tried to install Windows 7 in this same configuration, there was no this problem.

    Kind regards...

    Hello

There is an error in timing known when installing Vista 64 bit on a system with all the ram slots 4 full on a card mother dual channel. It has nothing to do with the size of the total ram. The simple solution is to install x 64 with only the two bench 0 Visa slots filled, and then add the other two sticks back when the installation is complete. • 2GB GDDR EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW? I can do better for $150?

I have a Geforce GTX 460 old but reliable. A beautiful card that has kept me during four years. But it didn't really hurt with the DSLR images and QT 1080 p high sampling rates. I don't like having to drop to 1/2 or even 1/4 resolution when editing so... Maybe I need a boost.

I hooked an EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 3 GB for less than $95, but it arrived today via UPS in a box of crushed. Needless to say that UPS requires a refund to the seller.

So I looked at the 2 GB EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW. $150 at Amazon. Looks like I might have a few good bang by puck and an improvement over my current GTX460 which is only 1 GB memory GDDR5 256 - Bit. It is not at rest and performs better than many maps of the time, but I know I can do better.

As a palliative for the next 6 to 8 months, what do you think of switching to the GTX 750 Ti FTW? There are already some time I researched maps and not sure, given the choice.

We got $150 new and I love this thing what we called a guarantee but I'm open to suggestions.

I have an ASUS Z97Pro Wifi USB3.1 mb, Intel Core i7 - 4790K Quad - Core 4 GHz cpu, and 16 GB of DDR3. Windows 7 pro 64 installed on a new Samsung 850 Pro SSD (boy is fast).

Huge case Phanteks Enthoo white Pro. Thanks in advance!

the gtx 580 would have been about 2 x faster than the gtx 460. the ti 750 gtx is somewhere between those of speed. If you want to buy a new one, are looking for a ti 750 gtx near $130 or gtx 960 around $200. the 960 gtx is still faster than the gtx 580. If you want to try to buy new used, try to find a gtx 570 or above for about $100.

  • GTX 570: EVGA or use nVidia Driver?

I am building to the top of my new video editing system and seem to remember reading some forum posts at a time where there was an exchange of views (or what it a strong recommendation?) to use one of these video drivers on the other.  What is the general consensus on this issue?

A few other minor issues (which are certainly quite beginner)

    (1) I have an ASUS P6X58D-E card and intends to run 2 hard disks (Hitachi sister / 2 TB 7200 RPM / MIN SATA III 6 GB/s 64 MB Cache) RAID 0 disable the Marvel controller.  Windows 7 will recognize the 3.8 Go OK, and what is the problem with the Marvel controller? I intend to use this drive to store all my media (Playback up to my NAS) and I was wondering if there is a reliability issue that I should be concerned.

    (2) plan to use two disks of Caviar Black 1 TB in RAID 0 using the Intel ICH10R controller.  For this configuration, I guess I should be set up the configuration of drive in my ASUS BIOS to "RAID" (vs AHCI), right?  And IIRC, just what I chose, I can't change it once I installed the operating system.

    (3) don't most of you let Windows 7 install the mini-partition to 200 MB or you prefer to tour where you click on 'Cancel' when the installation process asks you if it's okay to create separate partitions?  I've forgotten about it and now have the annoying partition on one of my RAID drives (I didn't know that the OS 640GO disk was connected to the SATA port to numbered below, sigh...).  Not a big problem to reinstall but at this stage. .

    Thanks for any help!

    -Mike

    Mike,

eVGA actually uses a reference from Nvidia for its graphics cards driver. The link to the driver download redirects in fact from the eVGA on the Nvidia site site. Do not use the driver supplied with your eVGA card because there seriously outdated and riddled with bugs to the time you receive the card.

So, in other words, download the latest WHQL driver on the Nvidia site.

  • EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti

I have a HP e9180t desktop computer and I'm looking to upgrade to an EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti. This video card is compatible with my desktop computer?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Unless someone actually installed one in this model, it is difficult to say with certainty at 100%.

However, based on the specifications of the PC should be, because the specifications state that the PC has a P/S 460W.

Just check to make sure that food has two connectors 6-pin PCI Express (PCIe), because it is a requirement for the card.

You can use the best cards, but they need a better diet.

I use CS750M of Corsair and a GTX570.   Others have used up to GTX970, but only 9 inches long or less in the case of cards. So check the dimensions before you buy the card. The map below works fine with the EPS12V ready haswell of power upgrade.
