  • «.. . handle is invalid': error only when closing the Application, the runtime, everything seems fine...

    Hello

first of all: I am relatively new to LabWindows, working on it for some practical work as a student

(Yes and sorry for the bad English, I'm from the Germany)

    The problem:

    The first important Information:

After searching for a solution, I don't know, what to do,

My project consists of a Main.uir file with a tab, a 'Main.c' which manages essentially the main .uir-stuff and some stuff-Initiating and in addition to that several Sub-Sourc-files, one for each tab panel of the Main.uir - tab.

To use the user interface elements on the main tab with secondary Sources, I'm launching tab handles at startup, which can be used by SubSource files, such as:

    GetPanelHandleFromTabPage (PANEL, PANEL_TAB, 2, &BALU);)

With this controller, I can identify each UI elements when working with secondary sources

    The second important information:

In some of the TabPages in the .uir, there are several ControlArrays. To use them, I create a ControlArrayHandle, such as:

    MWSAverageHandle = GetCtrlArrayFromResourceID (BALU, MWSAverageArray);

No, I'm able to identify specific paintings, as items:

    SetCtrlVal (BALU, GetCtrlArrayItem (MWSProgressHandle, ActiveBalun), ProgressString);

Now there is a problem, I am not able to solve:

During execution, everything works fine, I can use all the elements of a ControlArray with this ControlArrayHandle ("MWSProgressHandle"), everything works perfectly, no errors at all. BUT, when you close the program, I get the following error message:

RUNTIME ERROR NO MORTAL: "Baluns.c", line 313, col 16, id 0x00000AB8 thread:

Library function error (return value ==-4 [0xfffffffc]). Panel, menu bar or a control table handle is invalid

But this seems somewhat ridiulous for me, because when executing that each line works perfectly, each element of Array can be used without problem...

Is it something I'm not able to see?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    Greeting from Lübeck, Germany!

    Mathias

  • Error 6 Handle is invalid

OK, this has me completely baffled.  A client brings me a laptop and simply told me that the internet does not work.  Yes, I can help with that.  Internet on this laptop is via a card of Kyocera KPC680 airtime wireless and came with Quicklink Mobile software.

    1. uninstalled software, drivers, everything associated with the card and this particular connection.  After you have everything reinstalled, the result is the same.  Error 6: Handle is invalid

2 found information online indicating that a registry error may be the cause of errors with this type of connection.  With this information, I have CCleaner and do a record check and correct.  Still in train, error 6: Handle is invalid.

    3. after that I got to thinking, maybe Valentine's.  We will try the card in another computer and see if it works.  And in the other computer connects and works very well.  The question therefore with the computer... somewhere.

    4. After talking with the customer a little they tell me the problem started when he installed Norton.  OK, uninstall all Symantec and Norton.  Crossed and made sure it was all gone, including all registry entries.  Still the same error 6: Handle is invalid.

    5. scoured internet for answers and found mention of rarepair.exe, a file which has been shown to work to fix this exact problem in Windows XP and in some cases, Windows Vista.  A little more research links to the same thread of the forum with the same download and the same steps.  Download the file, the scanner on another computer virus and it's free.  Now I think I've tried all the rest, so what can it hurt.  Run the file and it passes through it.  It uninstalls, restarts, relocations and after him affecting everything back up.  Error 6: Handle is invalid

6 tried to reset tcp/ip stack as suggested by a friend tech... always the same 6 error: Handle is invalid

I am at a loss.  I tried almost everything I can think and find (or gets suggested by technicians colleagues) and none of it worked.  The only thing I can think of right now is updated the firmware on the card, but if that was the issue, it wouldn't have problems on other computers?

Someone at - it any other suggestions?

    Hi RKCompServices,

    1. is the airtime wireless card detected in Device Manager?
    2. when exactly you receive the error message?

First check if the air card is detected by windows in Device Manager.

    1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If the air card is detected in the Device Manager, then go to the link below and check if there is an update available for the aerial map download and install, check if it works.

Use the link below to download the Norton removal tool to completely remove Norton of the computer.

    Hello

read this information on the Defender:

    ·                         If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default

the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender

and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware

It of nothing to worry and is the default action, which is designed for them to do

If the above does not apply to your machine to read the information on the below link on how to disable the windows defender service in vista or make an autostart to enable

    http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/Microsoft/Vista/disable-Windows-Defender-service-in-Windows-Server-2008-or-Vista/

and here is the method to remove it from startup in vista

    http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/Microsoft/Vista/remove-Windows-Defender-from-Vista-system-startup/

and this is how you would normally activate or disable windows defender in vista from within defenders of own and options tools

    http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/Microsoft/Vista/disable-Windows-Defender-for-Microsoft-Vista/

and if you need to change startup programs read this information on the other methods of doing it without using defender

    using msconfig read this tutorial:

Here's how to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista to disable some unnecessary programs that load automatically at startup

and also try this FREE program Autoruns:

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can get in trouble with your device drivers, firmware and/or software.  Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers (and you shouldat least make the modem and everything you have time to do - they can help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

Try to uninstall and then reinstall the modem again.  Remove the modem through Control Panel > phones and Modems, then uninstall the modem in Device Manager. Once the reboot is complete and it is reinstalled it should work (as long as you use the update of the above paragraph).  Make sure that you uninstall in this order.

Are you sure that the modem is compatible with Vista and the rest of your system?  What is the manufacturer, brand and model?  You can find here:http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • The handle is invalid

I have a network drive which have been linked to my domain name. I get "the handle is invalid" whenever I try to access it through the UNC for example. \\netdrive but this same UNC works for computers that are not joined to the domain.

Ping responds very well from the server and the computers in the domain, but a UNC connection to it simply doesn't.

I wonder where the problem actually comes, he'll have something to do with Windows server 2012 or Windows 7 Pro.

Please can someone help me with the solution?

    Thank you

    Harrison.

  • Windows 7 "the handle is invalid" cannot open .exe files?

Since I think that a month ago, I was unable to open all the executable files on my computer. I always get the error message "the handle is invalid." I am running windows 7 and I don't really have anything that is downloaded over the months that could cause this problem.

    Hello Kevin,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. What is the location and the size of the file?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists:

Method 1: Run the Fixit to repair files and folders:

Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag

Method 2: SFC Run scan into the computer

    1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
    2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, click OK, or alternatively click on Yes.
    3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

For more information, refer to this link:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833/en-us

Method 3: To search the hard disk errors

    Check a drive for errors

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Check-a-drive-for-errors.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

Please follow these recommended steps, review the additional information provided and post back if you still have the problem. I will be happy to provide you with additional options.

My computer has been infected by the virus Happili and I would like to run Windows Defender to drink, that it does not open. I get the above error message. How can I trouble Defender or get rid of the virus. No scanning seems to be virus.

    Hello

Read the information that you do not say what Antivirus you use, which can also be the cause of the problem with Windows defender.

And also the scan with Malwarebytes AntiMalware; link to information and download here:

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually activate new Windows (do not take into account information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.
