Is it possible to launch the power settings for wireless Radios program another way that pressing F8 on the keyboard of laptop?

On the old keyboard layouts, Fn + F5 would trigger the Panel of wireless Radios, which is this executable:
C:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY\TpFnF5.exe

Look in this particular folder to something similar.

I'm using a Thinkpad Edge 11 and I just updated the BIOS utility (don't know even why I did it in the first place) using this link: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014926#version

I checked the BIOs version and it corresponds to my laptop (86ET31WW (1.15))

But now I can't connect to the internet. I tried troubleshooting my wireless connections and he told me to go on my "wireless capability" on my laptop. I guess that it is a switch that can turn my wireless on and outside, but the model of laptop I don't have all this button.

I installed the program of dial-up connections, but it also tells me to go on a button on my laptop.

I already checked my BIOS Setup and the Wireless Watch activated it.

I feel like I could have downloaded the wrong BIOS update, but I don't know how to uninstall or cancel it. Could anyone refer me to another update of the BIOS I should use please? or any other method, so I can turn on my internet connection? • W530 Radio wireless light

When you use the Fn + F5 to open the app to wireless radios, and then disable you only the wireless radio (alt - R) the display of the wireless radio (bottom of the screen) does not turn off. I know on my W500 for this. Is this a software bug?

On my W530, antenna-LED is shared for the wireless and Bluetooth. I need to disable both of them, then the light is off. If I activate one of them or both, the light is on.

  • 15 M - switch Radio wireless

    Hey guys

I'm having some trouble with my ThinkPad Edge 15. I just reinstalled a clean version of Windows 7 Pro, without all the lenovo 'tools '. (Maybe that's the problem..?). Everything seems ok so far - apart from the wireless connection:

I tried to connect to my network wireless via the Windows network and sharing Center. "Not connected". I ran troubleshooting: "turn on wireless capability: use the switch on the front or side of the computer...» »

There is no switch. It is enabled in the BIOS, however.

Then I installed the WiFiPRO Intel whatever - manager: "wireless disabled. "Please enable wireless radio switch" there is no switch. OK, so I uninstalled the wireless Intel again Manager.

Next attempt: the ThinkVantage Access Connections tool. 'Enable the wireless switch '. Phew.

The only key/switch/whatever that seems remotely related to Wireless is the F9 key with the small antenna on it. Pressing it has no effect. So I installed the Lenovo Hotkey thingy. By pressing F9 now translates into a pop up: "Please enable wireless radio switch.

I'm running out of ideas here. Anyone help?

You can download internet radio applications and do it this way.

The best way to deply is with a Microsoft Toolbox, it has everything you need included, manuals, scripts to install and configure components on the server side and it is very easy to use. You can get it here:

  • Control switch radio wireless (Fn + F5) via the Windows registry / software

In a school environment, students have discovered that they can cause problems using the software switch Fn + F5 to turn off the Wifi radio. I know that the material LED turns off when this happens, but the teachers are too busy to identify it. The result is that users are unable to connect, and the Windows Welcome screen is not quite intuitive, which gives a message error "there currently no server connection.

I am interested in applying a "fix" to this problem at startup. Maybe a fix Windows registry to "force" the Lenovo software switch to turn on the Wifi.

I had a bag autour with a comparison of registry Interstate market and am currently getting the following (among other changes, such as DHCP etc.) diff:

    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} \0018\RadioEnable: 0x00000000
    HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} \0018\RadioEnable: 0x00000001
    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} \0018\RadioEnable: 0x00000000

However, forcing these dwords to 0 x 1 doesn't seem to be enough to turn on the radio.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is there a BIOS/UEFI underlying setting that might be able to be accessed via the software?

Acxtually that I found after searching a bit more. Can be controlled via the command line:

    "C:\Program Files\Lenovo\HOTKEY\TpFnF5.exe" /wlon

  • wireless radio turns off every 2 minutes

I have a Thinkpad Z60t, running on Windows XP.

I have the wireless switch physical on the side panel on the position we (that is to the right).

At the beginning, I can't connect to any wireless network without problem. However, after about 2 minutes of not actively using the internet, the green 'radio Wireless' on the front panel turns off and I lose my internet connection. Then I do "Fn + F5" (or ThinkVantage button-> manage my connections-> Radios in Wireless Power on / off) to activate on (and get the light to go back to being green). Then I have to reconnect to the wireless network.

I think that this is a common problem. I tried several suggestions that I found on other forums, including ThinkVantage button-> manage my connections-> select location-> Open Access Connections profiles-> Configure-> location of switch-> UNSELECT "enable automatic location change". Actually, this method seems to work for a few hours, but then stopped.

I am sure that my wireless network is stable - my roommate's laptop does not lose the signal every 2 minutes as I do. I think my laptop wireless radio turns off automatically after 2 minutes of no use, and this feature should be turned off somehow.

Help, please. I'm frustrated to have to reconnect manually every 2 minutes.

    -Ed

Open Control Panel, go to the system, the property of equipment/system, then go to Device Manager.

Under the ownership of the wireless card (right click on the wireless card and property select), there are settings for the roaming of aggressiveness, energy saving and power output.

Not good.  It seems that your radio wireless the printer is dead.  If the unit is under warranty, you need to call HP.

What you can do, is get a USB print server and convert the USB connection to a wireless connection.  However, check the prices on these devices because it may be better just to get another printer because they are so cheap.

Or just use your USB connection.

  • Wireless on HP Deskjet 3050 a - J611 radio

    Hello world!

I had my HP Deskjet 3050 a - J611 wireless printer set up sometimes too before on two different networks.

But I have moved and deed of sale to set up again...

Initially through the push button method he was always trying to connect to my SSID old so I put every thing to the original settings.

But now I get an error code saying I turn on my radio wireless to the printer.
To the best of my knowledge, I have: configuration > wireless > wireless settings > wireless switch

    Any ideas?

    mruttle,

If you are looking to perform the replacement step to get the new information from the network, then no.

The heart of the problem is that the printer indicates the wireless radio is off and there is no network name for your printer.  The SSID of the printer, when the network is present, must have HP in the name making standout from other networks.

On the printer, go wireless > settings > default network.  Accept the prompt to reset the default settings.

Most of the printers to disable radio wireless as a default setting.  Press the wireless button again.  If she turns in the lower right corner, go ahead and select this option.

Now, go to the computer and search for a wireless network.  Is there a network name that inside HP or reflects your printer model?  If so, connect to the network, open a web browser and go to 192.168.223.1.  From there on, the previous steps should work.

    Let me know what happens.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a - problem with the wireless radio

First of all, I'm sorry for my bad English. I hope that you have little imagination when reading. I'll start to describe the problem and the lower list, I hope, all the relevant information you need to help me.

Yesterday, I bought a brand new OfficeJet Pro 8500 has.

Since I have found a little bit of my computer and my router I configure for wireless connection.

All whent fine, the printer connected to my WIFI network without any problem and I was able to do a scan using the HP scanning software. How ever, when you try to scan a document nother directly after the first that did not work. I got an error message on the computer telling me that the computer could not connect to the scanner and it could be caused by the firewall. I also tried to print a word document, but it seemed that the document could not be sent to the printer during the observation of the State of the printer. Finally I gave up the print job and began to study the problem.

By using the service to help in the HP software that I did all the things he suggested me to do. I have disabled the firewall, open TCP/UDP ports, restarted the router, the computer and the printer in different combinations, nothing worked.

All the while the printer was connected to my WLAN, indicated by the State of the network printer and the router. I was about to give up but thought I should try only to disable and enable the transceiver wireless in the printer. To my surprise this solves the problem. I was in a position of scan and print documents.

Today, after work, I tried to do another analysis, and the same mistake was present. Once more I did magic with the wireless radio and it has temporarily solved the problem, but he came back a few minutes later.

Summoriz, the error can always be corrected by disable and enable the radio wireless, but after some time (a few minutes) the error returns that it self.

I played a bit and discovered that it is possible to access the built-in Web server during the error. Not all functionality of the EWS seems to work perhaps (it's OK) but I can't among many things has see the State of the network and I can even do an analysis using the integrated Web server.

I tried to reconfigure the printer using the printer setup wireless and also after a reset of the printer and it does not help.

I hope someone on this forum knows a solution to my problem.
