• Index tab appears in RoboHelp HTML

  I use Robohelp HTML version 8.

  When you view a properties of the topic, the general and advanced tabs are displayed, but I have not found how to display the Index tab in this version.

  Thanks for the screenshot. I see what is happening now. You see the properties of the Page Table of contents is not the properties of the actual subject. This happens when you click on properties with the table of contents page selected. If you have the cursor inside WYSIWYG in the topic (or select the topic in the list of topics or project pod pod) right-click on it and select properties in the topic, you will have the Index tab.

• preparation of PDF files for index tab pages

  Hi, so this is my first time to prepare a set of tabbed pages - they are separators section of a text spiral-bound book. The editor asked us (Packer book, for which I get) to deliver a PDF file to the printer. I asked how the files for the index tab pages should be sent, but I don't have that indirect communication with a printer that can be non-English speaker - the answer to my questions was minimal, just give the size of the tabs and placement. So I'll do a test of PDF for the approval of the printer. How can I indicate on the PDF for the tab die-line? Send two PDFs, one with a dieline?

  I use RoboHelp 2015 and reactive production layout, I need to rearrange these tabs. I want the tab of filtering of dynamic content to be displayed before the table of contents.

  It is possible through the HTML code. In Notepad, open the file "Topic.slp". On line 35, you will see a list of links:

• Tab to the TLF text index.

  I created classic text boxes and assign each of them a tab order using the syntax: "fNameInput.tabIndex = 0; fNameInput.tabIndex = 1; fNameInput.tabIndex = 2; "etc.

  Subsequently, I decided to turn them into boxes of TLF, but after I did it, the tab index feature stopped working.

  What is the problem in my code and what should I do in order to activate the index tab attribute?

• Where is the text for the index and search tabs saved?

  It is specifically in RoboHelp 9 - although the answer may be the same for other versions.

  I wonder, when WebHelp is created, where to get the text to use in the indexing and search tabs?

  Specifically, I'm looking for (and change), the text in the Index tab that reads, "type in the keyword to find:" and the text in the Search tab that reads, "Type in the words to search for:

  I suspect these two phrases are in a file .lng somewhere, and just this file needs to be changed...

  Any ideas?

  The mentioned Colum .lng file are accessible more easily by clicking on file > project settings > Advanced button > LNG tab

  Under LNG, you will see everything most of the default labels for different items. It is better to work here on the source of LNG, rather than trying to change the output WebHelp that will be replaced later the next time that you build.

• Removal of the Index RH8 SKIN tab

  I want to remove the Index button / tab on my skin, but am not sure how do.  When I access skins through the housing project, I select the option to Index in the main Section and the [---] / delete option is not enabled.

  Other paths or process, that I use to get my deleted Index tab?

  Besides important distinction of Rick you use RoboHelp Server or not, it's certainly the first thing that must be determined. Patterns of single Source 'Pro' are specially designed to help the publication on a web server that has the * optional * RoboHelp Server application installed. There are many benefits to having this server (user feedback reports and the ability to apply security levels and restrict access to different parts of your published Web site is among them.)

  That said, if you do not have the room of RoboHelp Server, you want to WebHelp "plain."

  As for your question, "either by the way, I have more to choose WebHelp as a presentation of a single Source.  Can I get it back as an option? »

  1. make sure that the presentation of single Source pod is in sight.

  2. click on the icon whose ToolTip says "Create layout".

  3. in the new dialog box layout, type a descriptive name for the layout

  4. from the drop-down arrow, select (not Pro) WebHelp output type

  5. Once you do this, the new layout appears in the SSL module.

  6. Finally, right-click on this new layout and in the context menu, click on "Set as primary provision" that's important because you perform all the steps of Rick for access to the correct window properties in the project configuration module.

  That should do it.

• Unable to display the Find tab

  I know it has been asked and answered before, but I can't find it... : if I use LabWindows / Help / CVI libraries / help topics the installation wizard appears, but it fails with the error message: cannot display the tab search (177). If I remember correctly, he had something to with a gid file?...

• How configure tabbed pages to print correctly?

  HI -.

  The pdf more complex that I have ever met (and harder than I ever searched on this forum) contains the TABS.  I don't want by tabs tabs in the window tab index, tab indents, paws on setting preferably, dialog boxes the tabs in the menu or the tabs in the browser.

  The tabs, I ask those who are labeled "flaps" are protruding along the right edge of a printed document in order to facilitate the location of specific sections in the printed document.  Text is printed on the tabs rotated 90 degrees.  The paper on which the tabs are printed is generally a thicker and, by necessity, is WIDER THAN TYPICAL 8.5 "-so that the tab comes forward on the right edge of the printed document."  The text rotated (the legend of the tab) must be beyond the 8.5 width "to be visible in the tab when the book is bound.

  I hope that I have not insulted anyone with my description, but I felt it necessary because "tabs" gives no relevant search results as well.  Now to my situation and the question.

  The PDF I'm faced with a total of 300 pages, and 12 of them are tablets - to be printed on a tab.  The legend of the tab is already turned properly and positioned on the page where the tab should stay ABOUT - with the exception of one of the key issues.  The problem is that the widths of the PDF pages that will be the tabs are 8.5 "wide on the screen and the stock of tab to be printed on is 9" wide.  The question is how the legend to print beyond this page 8.5 "wide?

  I use a Canon varioPrint 135.  It's a production machine pretty hefty with trays for different media sizes.  So I put the paper in the Tray 1 and the stock of tabs in tray 2.  The result is that the stock of tabs is inserted where there should be some simple pages but the legend of the tab is not printed in position on the tab but about. 35 "on the left.  In other words - the printer has correctly interpreted the PDF page width is 8.5 "printed in this width, even if she was instructed to use and well connected, a paper stock that is 9" wide.

  As I see it - the solution is to expand those tab pages in the PDF so that the printer can see 9 "wide and print the Legend tab accordingly on the Media 9".  Is it a correct assessment?

  What tool Acrobat, functionality, software, plug-ins or setting should I use to change the width of pages in a PDF file?  Is it still possible to do this with Acrobat?

  Hi Josh, this should be pretty easy to do - however, due to a bug in Acrobat, it's a two-step process:

  Open the document in Acrobat and implement the tool 'Set Page boxes' (via Tools > organize Pages > Set Page boxes, or by right-clicking on a page in the "Thumbnail" pane and selecting "Crop pages"). Select this option to change the size of the page using a custom size. Make sure that you select "Center" to the old page to the new, larger page and specify 9.5 "x 11" (Yes, it's too big, and we will correct it in the next step):

  

  Now apply this change to your tab page and set up the tool "Set boxes Page" again. This time, we change the culture box so that only the 9 x 11 "page - with the text of the tab in the right position - shows:

  

  To get the correct size, remove 0.5 "from the right edge.

  Again, apply the settings, and you should have a page of tabs correctly formatted and size.

  The bug in Acrobat, it's that you cannot specify a x_offset custom in the first step. This would allow us to just resize the page to 9 x 11 "and the offset of 0.5" and make, but which moves the contents of the page completely outside the clipping rectangle, and you end up with a blank page.

  I extract all pages in tabs in a separate document and then perform these two steps on pages in the temporary document and then replace the existing tabs in the corresponding pages of this temporary document.

• Message popup for the top-level Index Entry Click enter subindex

  I built a CHM Help, and when I open with the index tab, and then double-click the sub containin Scripture Scriptures, I get the following message is displayed:

  To locate information on this keyword, select one of the subentries in the list.

  See a screenshot below.  The dialog box appears when I double-click on the 'Abgeischertes Signal' top-level index entry.

  

  Is it possible to translate this message?

  I use RoboHelp HTML 8.0.2.208 (from TCS2).

  I searched for the string in all the files in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2 without result.

  As far as I know, it is controlled by the Help Viewer HTML, just like the legends of standard button (home, etc.).

  On my local PC, I get this message in Dutch, whereas on the VMware Server, I get this message in English. Try to view the CHM operating system on a German (or other language) and see if that helps.

• Search and Index do not work in the project on the Web server

  I use RH 7 on Windows XP and build my project to help using WebHelp.

  Search and Index functions work perfectly well in the project generated on my hard drive, but when the project is deployed on our Web server for user acceptance testing, these functions do not work.

  • When I search for a term, aid poster project "search...". ' or 'Chargement loading data, please wait... '. "(in a yellow box that displays only for a second or two,) but no display search results. When I search for a word in the project generated on my hard drive, the results appear immediately.
  • When I click on the Index tab, the list of indexes is completely empty.

  For both functions, the "done, but with errors on page" or "Error on page" message appears in the lower left corner of the browser window. When I click the icon (point), an error message appears with the following details:

  Line: 688

  Char: 7

  Error: ' Notes [...]. sTopicTitle' is null or not an object

  Code: 0

  URL: http:// < I removed this part of the path for security reasons > /webhelp/whfbody.htm

  I have attached a PDF file that contains screenshots comparing how these functions work on my drive hard and on the Web server (for security reasons, I've roughly blackened references from the company in the URL in the screenshots).

  Does anyone have an idea on top of their head as to what could prevent indexing and job search functions? Perhaps this is due to a configuration setting or the security on our Web server or something - this entire process is new to me, so I have no idea how to solve this problem.

  Are you sure that all the WebHelp output files make the trip to your server, especially all these small weird things in the files whdata, whgdata and whxdata?

• Missing: Tab "Search"

  I try a project output in a CHM file using RoboHelp 8, and the result is completely missing a 'Search' tab. There is a table of contents, an Index tab tab, and that's all. (The project has a glossary, so the absence of glossary it's surprise). I searched through the forums and issues closest I saw were people whose Search tabs "did not work." However, the hotfix in this situation (re-recording of some DLL files), has not worked for me. I hope that someone out there has an idea how find a search tab missing thank you!

  Try this. In RoboHelp, click View > pods > project implementation.

  Expand the Windows pseudo-dossier.

  You see an icon that looks like this?

  

  If you see this icon (the one with no globe inside), double-click it. If you don't see it, make sure first that the type of your primary provision is Microsoft HTML Help. Then click the icon to create a new window.

  

  Whatever it is, you should see the window properties dialog box. You must make sure that the 'Search' tab is enabled.

• Index of Corruption

  I work with a great RoboHelp project. When I click on the Index tab, RoboHelp crashes. How can I fix? Thank you.

  Well, I deleted the error. I deleted the file .cpd again for I can access the index tab. I opened the project and allowed time for the computer rebuild the .cpd file. Then, by hand, I've deleted the entire index. I have not had the problem since.

• TAB and IE

  I can't find any info on how to disable the focus from the TAB in the IE window and maintain in the swf file that I consult. I have configured my index tab fields, and when I saw the movie - it works fine. However, when I play it in Internet Explorer, the TAB goes # 1 - and then to the address in the toolbar field. It seems that I read about htat script disables this - but I have searched high and low and can't find it. Any ideas?
