RAID Controller degraded by the Firmware version

Hi all

My security system is sending me alert because my RAID controllers being day. RAID controllers are fine, but the State is deteriorating because of the "latest Firmware Version available" which means I can't properly control if something really bad happens.

Is it possible to disable the alert or lower the minimum version expected? I just can't reboot all my servers just for an update of the RAID firmware.

My security system expects a status: Ok

Thank you very much in advance!

Greg

Is it possible to update the firmware without system reboot? I am running CentOS 5 and 6

No, you can update the firmware without a reboot, but the update will be based in the controller cache until a reset is performed. So yes, you can perform the update without reboot, but it will not take effect until you perform a reboot.

Thank you

    Hello

We have a Dell T300 with the SAS 6/iR adapter.

    We have a RAID1 with 2 x 3 TB drives (visible only 2 TB).

I have updated the firmware on the SAS adapter to the latest version available here:

and now the RAID 1 has disappeared!

We have a lot of important data on this virtual drive so any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi Josh,.

Thanks for getting back to me. The physical connections and the disks were good and they appeared in the update controller RAID configuration. But the virtual drive RAID1 had disappeared.

I solved the problem by downgrading to an earlier version of the firmware.

If I had read the README of the first firmware upgrade page completely, I would have noticed:

The migration of the SAS 6/iR controllers PERC6 controller RAID Volumes is only supported for volumes created originally on 6/iR controllers SAS running review FW 00.25.47.00 or later version.

I was able to locate a FW version 00.20.48 here.

The executable flash.bat refused to downgrade the FW version

However, looking at the .bat files, I could see that flash.bat called xflash.bat called sasflash.exe which is a LSI utility to upgrade the firmware of the card.

I found an old manual with the arguments that sasflash.exe take here and use the switch - fwdown to wipe the card and firmware downgrade.

When the server has started upward the virtual drive was back. Phew!

Guess I'll read the Readme next time?

    Thank you for your attention,

    Jerry.

There is a newer version of firmware available for your printer. If you cannot update the firmware by using the control panel option you can use the method by using the available Firmware Update utility to: www.hp.com/support/ljM426MFP and described in this paper: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=7458649&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c03754273.

  • How do I know the hardware version WRT54G to only the firmware version and date

Hi - on a Linksys WRT54G, serial numbers and the version number have
been worn except in the case of the unit, so I don't know what version it is. He has since been released in it's 'safe place' to which I don't have physical access (and yet they want me to admin it). Don't think that I even get cable connect, wireless only. Gee. In any case... of the configuration screens I see:

The current version of the firmware is 1.00.6 January 20, 2006.
I could, I guess that to get the MAC address

The default login and password are what is active.

Can you tell what version of the material is, so that I can download the
    good firmware flash update?
    Thank you

The best way is to check the hardware, but as you mentioned, it is not an option. I suggest that you check each firmware release notes, check the previous firmware versions and dates on each version of the output material. However, it may be tedious.

  • How can I check the version of the firmware on the optical drive on Satellite P200

I am a Satellite P200 and my Tempo suggests to download an update of the firmware to TO35, which only works if I TO33/34, how can I check that I have? I tried searching on my machine, but I guess that the firmware is not the thing to appear in searches. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

    Hi guys

    > How to check the firmware
You can use a 3rd party program like Nero to burn.
Nero presents the version of current firmware of CD/DVD players

The firmware TO33 or the TO34 should already exist on the TS-L802A drive.
Please check if you have exactly the same drive. TO35 firmware only works with the TS-L802A.

If you have an older version of fimware as TO33 then please post here again!

    *@Voodoo*
You really have a TS-L802A drive. ? How did you check the firmware version?

  • utility based on the Web shows again the old version of the firmware - HELP PLEASE

In September of last year, I replaced my old Linksys with a new (BEFSR41 ver 4.3).  I started to get in trouble yesterday, so I consulted the web-based utility and noticed that the window says: the firmware 2.0 version!

I tried to update to the latest firmware available for my model, following the instructions on the site but something went wrong and the firmware has been altered. Finally, I managed to update the firmware via tftp utility, and he said that the upgrade has gone through. But the utility still shows the version of the firmware 2.0.  Under the router > status reads as follows:

    Capture (share.field_33_UI_share) Firmware Version: 2.00.4 build 7, January 20, 2010

I am very confused. Which is the latest firmware or I get it confused with the 4.3 version number?

I really hesitate to update the firmware again after the problems I had the first time.  If anyone can give me some advice on what to do, I would really appreciate it.

You confuse the hardware version of the router with the version of the firmware.

The BEFSR41 is the model. One physical versions of this model. Each version contains a different material. The exact hardware version is printed on the label under the router.

The firmware version is the version of the firmware (software) running on the router. It is important that the firmware used is compatible with the hardware version of the router. For this reason, you must select the correct hardware on the router Linksys support download site version to be sure to choose the right firmware compatible with your router.

The latest version of the firmware of the BEFSR41 v4.3 is Ver.2.00.4 Build 7. You have the latest firmware.

  • Objective of the firmware update (Version 2) for the A6000

The update of the firmware (version 2) lens for the NEX - 6 work on the A6000, activation pdaf on lenses like the SEL18200? The answer I get from Sony is that this firmware is not yet available, but I've heard reports of several people on the forums that the NEX-6 version works on the A6000. Has anyone tried this before?

Hi THE-949198! The usefulness of the firmware is only for use with the Sony NEX-6 camera. It is not recommended to install this utility with any other model, as this may cause damage. The camera firmware update and the changes experienced by the latter are permanent. It is not possible to return to a previous firmware version after this firmware update.

  • vSAN RAID controller compliance

    Hello

I improved vSphere to 6U1/vSAN 6.1 last night and everything went very well - happy days. I noticed that the new plugin of the health has reported a compliance issue with my Raid Controller driver version. Either way, I'll have a latency intermittent host at this time and I think that this could be the culprit. I'm totally confused however as what needs to be installed. Before you deploy vSAN (about a month), I've updated through iDRAC all devices on my Dell R720xd 3 including RAID - H710Mini PERC controllers.

    vSAN THAT HCL needs:

    Firmware: 3.131.05 - 3415

    Pilot: megaraid_sas version 6.603.55.00.1vmw

I need to reboot the servers to check the firmware version as iDRAC States 21.3.1 - 0004, which is apparently, according to this thread of dell, the version of the package, but assuming that the firmware version is correct, it leaves me with the driver update to version megaraid. I use a Dell ESXI ISO's so my question is, where can I get the megaraid driver and how do I install it in ESXI?

Any help would be massively appreciated.

That scrap. I've upated the "copy local HCL DB" and then ran a new test and everything is in line/green so everything seems fine!

  • z820: looking for a software raid manage and view the status of disks hard raid

    HP z820 workstation,

I'm looking for raid management software

    Thank you.

I suggest that you follow the steps listed in the HP Document: "Z - series Workstation detection and fixing a hard drive failure within the RAID Controller utility" in the URL: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04474148#N10829 you can find instructions how to enter each State type of RAID (Intel RST, 2308 LSI and LSI 9260-8i controller - It's the main RAID controllers usually associated with the HP Z820 workstation according to the particular configuration you ordered). Note that in most of the cases described in this document, you need to access the configuration of RAID controller during computer startup steps, by pressing CTRL + I (for Intel RST) or CTRL + C (for LSI 2308) or CTRL + H (by LSI 9260-8i). The installation program uses the RAID controller firmware and does not require to install complex inside Windows software, because it is done outside of the Windows operating system before starting. Find more details in "HP Z220 SFF, CMT Z220, Z420, Z620 and Z820 workstations maintenance and Service Guide" in the URL: http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c04205252-1.pdf , in the devices of annex b: Setup RAID (pp. 161-171) all types of RAID controllers that are relevant at the workplace Z820 are discussed.
