RAID offers the best burst rate?

I recently install a new SATA III HARD disk, it is measured around 110 MB/s for the speed of the gusts, which is the highest speed (in megabytes per second) at which data can be transferred from disk interface (IDE or SCSI, for example) for the operating system.  I would like to improve the burst rate, someone has suggestions if RAID will be a good approach or not?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Hello

RAID0, RAID0 + 1 and RAID1 + 0 all can provide some increase in performance, however the level
is based on the discs and the methods used. Hardware RAID is likely to be the only one
really useful. Check with the manufacturer of readers and the supplier of the device RAID/methods you
you want to use as those are the only ones who will be able to provide the specifications of the real world.

Have you considered a SSD? Check with the leading manufacturers of SSD (use BING and Google).

========================================================================

RAID causes more problems than it solves. Especially for software RAID which is included
on some motherboards.

RAID<-- describes="" all="" types="" of="">
http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

Today, there are 3 "General Types' RAID

Software, hybrid (some hardware with software checks) and material.

Personally, I think that the software and the hybrids are a waste of time and misleading when claims of
reliability are usually made. In most cases, an effective backup plan is better than these. All the
too often, software RAID or the hybrid model in fact causes a failure. Or is it supposed to
to protect the system crashes and power outages end up being the cause of them. Material
RAID is by far the best.

Hardware RAID
http://www.bestpricecomputers.co.UK/glossary/RAID-controller.htm

Hardware RAID is a physical hard disk controller that allows interactions of disk required
to perform a reliable redundant Bay.

Intel RAID controllers
http://www.Intel.com/products/server/RAID/index.htm

Adaptec RAID controllers
http://www.Adaptec.com/en-us/products/

Many low-cost software component snap-in RAID controllers are really a hybrid where a part of the action
is done by the hardware of the map and the rest (and often more important functions) are performed
by the processor in the system using software RAID.

  • What is the best bit rate to use for files WMV to DVD?

I shoot with a low point and shoot digital camera.  I take the files AVI-video from the camera, which are quite large, and edit them in Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 and then save them as WMV files that are typically much smaller.  I like to create DVDs with better videos using Windows DVD creation or another program video.  My question is what bit rate to specify when I publish the films completed as WMV files?

My camera AVI files can be played in Windows Media Player.  They have little of rates which vary from about 3 Mbit/s to a little more than 5 Mbps.  Is STANDARD DEFINITION 640 x 480 VGA quality video.

Movie Maker default bitrate for the option "burn to DVD" is 2.99 MB/s.  I do not notice a difference in quality between the 2 MB/s I usually use and.  (I chose 2 Mbps, because in the past, I've used Windows Media Encoder and it defines "DVD quality" like 1-2 Mbps transmission speed and quality "HD" as 5 Mbps.)  Bit rates below 1 Mbps up to 500 Kbps have been defined as "Quality VHS" and below which has been 'QVGA quality'.

With important videos, I publish movies with a flow rate of 5 Mbps.  Default speed of movie Maker for videos "to be played on my computer" is 7.69 Mbps, but it's more than the AVI from the camera, then how is this possible?  How can save the file with a bit rate higher than the bit rate of the input file?

Is another experiment, a good way to decide on the rate of good bit for my projects?

  • What is the best audio format to import a CD?

    Dear people of the communities,

What is the best format in terms of better sound quality for an import CD, regardless of the size of the file, just a pure sound quality?

The goal is to save my music library CD and vinyl in a computer/drive and listening using a computer connected to a sound system 'Stereo' (not ' Surround', regular stereo) with speakers high quality stereo (L + R).

So far, I've downloaded using a 320 kbps MP3 format. Listening to a CD quality is very poor.

I use iTunes 10.7.x (as well as iTunes 12.x on a newer platform, but imports of CD I use version 10.7)

    All parameters are the following:

    Import using MP3 encoder =

    Parameters = custom

Use the Error Correction = No.

    ---------------------------------------------

    Stereo BitRate = 320 Kbps

    VBR = No

    = 44,100 kHz sampling rate

    Channels = stereo

    Stereo mode = Normal

    Smart encoding = No

Filter Freq below 10 Hz = No

I think he wouldn't be WAV course, AIFF and Apple Lossless I know are both better quality, but using an Apple encoder can restrict what will be the player who is also important.

    Thank you

    Alon

    .

Any lossless format will offer the best audio quality.  The available choices:

    • WAV is probably the most widely supported but it lacks the ability to incorporate metadata or illustrations, so while you can move the audio between different systems files as soon as you go outside iTunes you will lose all the artist / album / song information.
    • Apple Lossless (ALAC) is definitely the best choice in iTunes - he has the same metadata / support work such as MP3 or AAC and supports full 16/44.1 audio with file sizes about 65% of the equivalent WAV file
    • AIFF is very similar to the ALAC, except that (in the Variant used by iTunes), there is no lossless compression, so the file size will be larger

The determining factor here will be where you intend to use the files - many other readers take in charge of the three options mentioned above, either natively or (for the ALAC and AIFF) using the appropriate plugins.  Unfortunately the lossless codec which has the broad support of all (FLAC) is not supported by iTunes.  There are, however, many utilities out there that can convert between ALAC and FLAC (and vice versa) if that proves necessary.

  • Is the best note 31fps image?

In years past, 31fps was considered to be the best frame rate, as well as to obtain the best performance on Mac and Windows.  If this changed with hardware acceleration?  Is it the mater still frame rates by obtaining constant performance?

I don't think you can say there is a set of best rate.  with as3, you can control the frame rate dynamically so when necessary you can always adjust the frame rate to the lowest level necessary for satisfactory results.  It's the best frame rate.

I am using a video camera of Sony NX3

    iMac El Capitan

    10.2

Depends on the type of video you want to edit and deliver.  I'd rather pull the same I have to deliver.  If there is a lot of action, a movement fast, faster frame rates.  Talking heads frame rate, slower.  But it can be subjective as to what 'look' that you will, too.  1080, 720, 4K, they are no better or worse at different frame rates, different frame rates that give you different options of post production and to specific "looks like".

So, let me ask you; What is your final delivery location?  Where / how t - he was seen?

  • Upgrade the disks in RAID 6 array: what is the best

    I have a Dell PowerEdge 2900 running Windows Server 2008 R2 and 6 x 75 GB 10K SAS drives.  PERC 6 / i controller RAID 6 with 5 drives + HS 1 (total 6 discs)

    I have 6 x 300 GB 10K SAS drives ready to trade.

I read everything I can on hot swapping etc and what I can't find is any method to close the front discs actually pulling them.  Supposed to be via Computer Manager-> storage but not here?

Restarted, Ctrl + R, in the controller BIOS, nothing there either.

    I have therefore 2 options:

    (1) go for it, just pull up a disc and put in a new and let them rebuild.  Repeat x 5

    (2) stop, change the music, etc.  I don't like to stop a perfectly functional server...

Looks like #1 would be better, but without the stop disk option I'm not sure...

Then there is the whole operation in general.  It is best to:

    (1) hot-swap & rebuild

    (2) make a backup to disk image, on all readers of a sudden and restore?

Looks like #2 would be better... but I don't still need to re - install the software on the array of naked?

The operating system has no control on the disks. The drives are controlled by the PERC. You must use either a software that allows the management of PERC as OpenManage Server Administrator or boot directly on THE controller's BIOS.

You should have an option available for the physical disks offline before removing a table. Which will allow you to remove a disc without causing data corruption.

The best practices and the method supported is to back up the data, create a new RAID array with new drives, reinstall, and then restore the backup.

Hot swapping and reconstruction are the best way to do this, but the simplest is not the best way. If you choose to rebuild and hot-swappable, you will also need either to create a new RAID array (sliced table) to use the new space or change the markup for the table.

  • What is the best setting for H264 Blu Ray bit rate, which will play OK on most / all blu ray players.

What is the best setting for H264 Blu Ray bit rate, which will play OK on most / all blu ray players. When you use CBR and VBR. What are the benefits of progressive and interlaced with regard to playback on all players.

You don't need to worry about compatibility with Blu - ray playback.

I prefer a variable bitrate for its effectiveness.  (Not necessary spending 25 MB on a framework in need of 10 right?)

Using interlaced or progressive will depend on what you shot.  (Take note that 30 p is an atypical, so do not pull that.  Pull only 720 p/24, 720 p/60, 1080 p/24 or 1080i/30).

  • First cs5, raid 0 (2 discs) what is the best to 2 discs to use for avchd/hdv?

I want to scratch (2) 2 TB set for Raid 0 disks. What is the best readers in use for editing avchd/hdv? What is the size of the cache matter? 3 discs would be faster or is my processor the neck of the bottle.

    Windows 7, 2 + year old Quad Core Q9650 @ 3 GHZ, Nvidia Geforce GTS450, first cs5, 8 GB of ram.

    I have 1 system disk of 10 000 rpm

& an existing (disc 2) 1 gig each Raid 0 for all the video/audio/project files...

I want to add a 2nd raid 0. Hoping for RT more with the 2nd most recent raid without changing the MB or CPU.

Rather than investing in drives of 2 TB, register and upgrade your whole system. A Q9650 is about 6-8 times slower than a fast system and it your main bottleneck using AVCHD.

  • LastPass is offered by Firefox more? Is MaskMe the new suggestion? These two Add ons do the same? What is the best, or should I use both?

When I generate a password in last Pass a window of MaskMe asking if I would like to generate a password. I was used to using the last past MaskMe was suggested by Firefox, so I added it. Is - this redundant? Is it better or should I continue to use last Pass? With all the concerns about security, I want to do the best.
    Thank you

Hey - I'm Abine, the company that makes the MaskMe. Micro got it right, but I thought I would chime too.

LastPass and MaskMe have very similar characteristics when it comes to the storage account, auto-fill, and passwords. We have also enhanced security where the company cannot see or access your master password because it is stored locally on your device.

However, MaskMe has a set of features more wide that goes beyond the management of the accounts and connections to let you use the web without giving your real contact information.

    • It allows to create aliases (or hidden) email addresses that advances in your actual Inbox, allowing you to block spam in 1 click
    • You can also create alias phone and credit card numbers, so you can buy things or give your telephone number without dealers or traders who your real info

It all comes down to what you're looking for. LastPass is great at what he does, and so is MaskMe, but MaskMe covers several areas of privacy online if you are worried about it.

  • Need your advice, choose the best update for first Pro CC

Need your advice, choose the best upgrade.

Because nobody can have a computer that runs all functions as quickly as desired, we have manage their it resources according to your needs, budget and for the money. Below is a fundamental issue related to Adobe Premiere Pro 2015 CC.

Need for better visualization without jerky look of a stutter and overall better performance incease.

Would I do better with? (Choose one please)

    1. Passing of an SSD to 2 SSD in RAID 0 configuration - cost about $350.
    2. Getting my video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti for a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 overclocked to 4 GB GDDR5 graphics card - $350.
    3. From Win 7 Pro 64-bit to win 10 Pro 64-bit.

Please explain why you made your choice.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tom

    Tom,

At this point, you're pretty much stuck to a GPU upgrade. You see, that the GTX 560 Ti is not is properly supported in first Pro CC 2015 when it comes to acceleration GPU of MPE. As such, you may experience random program crashes and/or repeated which are fixed only when you disable acceleration GPU of MPE and run first in software mode only MPE.

The other improvements are out of the question: the i7 990 X CPU uses the chipset Intel X 58 now-seven-year-old, whose native Intel SATA ports are limited to SATA II (3 GB/s or 300 MB/s) flow. All support 3 SATA or USB 3.0 on motherboards that use such an old chipset comes entirely from complement third-party chipsets to companies such as NEC/Renesas and Marvell. And we know how slow the Marvell SATA 3.0 ports work are compared with native Intel SATA 3 implementation on newer chipsets. Unfortunately, a CPU upgrade would have exceeded the maximum budget $ 350 because both the CPU and motherboard (and probably RAM as well) should be replaced by such upgrade. And additional SSD upgrades are out of the question because newer SATA SSD would have been restricted by the sustainable maximum rate of 270 MB/s of SATA II.

Therefore, the only feasible upgrade would be a new GPU for your system now five-years.

Good luck in your quest to upgrade,

    Randall

  • What is the best/best format to convert avchd, for editing?

What is the best format to convert avchd 1920/1080, for editing purposes?

I tried to convert HDV but did not like the quality. I then tried to convert avchd files raw in mpeg2 @ 35 Mbps. It of much cleaner, but makes it slow, about 1-1 ratio.

looking for a codec that is quick to convert & clean.

I have aPC, Win 7, 6 cores, 32 GB ram, Raid 0, fast cuda card ect...

AVCHD has the same as DV data rate, so shuttle that quickly will be not a problem hard drive, even a single disc, and still less a RAID 0 array.  If he stutters, it's one thing to CPU.

Conversion to another format will increase the flow of data significantly, requiring your RAID to redouble their efforts.  However, the CPU will probably work less, so this could solve the stuttering.

You can still add all the elements of a sequence and then add this sequence in the Source monitor for editing as if it were a long clip.

Having said all that, if you still feel the need to convert then I recommend the free and the UT lossless codec.  You can export the clips combined pp right, and new media will not suffer no loss of quality due to the conversion.
