Ratings and smart playlists

It seems that Apple has removed sides of Star of the new redesigned music application. This has made the majority of my broken playlists, as they do things like 'Rock music 3 stars and up', '5 2016 music stars' etc.

Or am I missing something? Is there a way to re - enable this? If this isn't the case, Apple to please revisit this!

Someone at - it recommendations for other music apps? I can't say that I am impressed with the redesign at all.

I found that I can still add a note of the song using Siri, but tapping the song no longer displays the stars on the phone, very annoying.

  • My smart playlist sort by release date in ascending order

    Hello

I have a 7th generation iPod nano, the version of the software 1.0.4. Synchronize all all the podcasts of the nano unplayed episodes. I also sync a smart playlist that includes episodes of a number of podcasts I listen to. I want to have podcasts on this sorted list according to the date of output in ascending order, so I'm always hear older podcasts to the most recent. For some reason, the iPod nano will not sort podcasts in ascending order and sort in descending order, from the most recent to the oldest.

In iTunes, under my Podcasts, I have all my podcasts listed by release date in ascending order, from oldest to newest.

In iTunes, under playlists, I have all my podcasts listed by release date in ascending order, from the oldest to the newest, and smart playlist is also sorted by release date ascending, from the oldest to the newest.

In iTunes, under devices-> iPod Nano-> Podcasts, each of the podcasts on the device is ordered by release date in ascending order, from oldest to newest.

In iTunes, under devices-> iPod Nano-> [name of smart playlist], smart playlist is sorted by release date in ascending order, from oldest to newest.

When I go to the machine and select Podcasts-> [name of the individual podcast], each of the podcasts is sorted by release date in ascending order, from oldest to newest.

When I go to the machine and select music->-> [name of smart playlist] Playlists, episodes are sorted by release date in the ORDER SORTED by most RECENT to THE OLDEST.

I restored the iPod nano (twice), and this did not affect the sort order.

Can someone suggest something else I could try to get the podcasts to sort correctly?

    See you soon,.

    Hussar

Well, I was able to work through this on my own. I disabled the "Sync Podcasts" block and sync had the nano, by removing all the podcasts of the device. I then re-checked the block "Sync Podcasts" and sync'd. Now, when I go to music-> [name of smart playlist]-> Playlists, episodes are sorted correctly, from the oldest to the newest, and several episodes that had previously denied same sync are now present.

I'm fairly certain, however, that's not the way this is supposed to work.

  • Smart playlists and music synchronization problem Apple

Why I always found rather strange Apple music library system, for example, I can't understand you need 'heart' a song or just add music manually to Apple to have added to your smart playlists, I use since a long time some smart playlists that get the last song that I added to lybrary filtered by rating, showing those with at least three starts a heart of GOLD.
Well well, if I like a song or add it to my library to a music playlists from Apple on my iTunes Mac or PC, for example "Hot 50" Filtr, I can actually find on my vision of music, but not in my smart playlists. Do the same thing to the iPhone gets the song immediately added to smart playlists.
Maybe it's a bug, forcing same synchronization or wait a few days doesn't fix it, until I use my iPhone to do the same.

I know that just 'like' or 'TRIPHASEE' as you called him alone won't add music to your library on your Mac and so it will not be added to your smart playlists. You must ADD the song to your library for that to happen. "Loving" is a song - what Apple music - effects allegedly only the choices Apple suggests in the section for you.

Not sure why as you claim this happens on your iPhone, because I don't think that the system is supposed to work that way - but I have been wrong before.

    Tamar,

If the second selection rules, something like "Playlist" "is" "Playlist 1" and "Last played" "is not in the last" "21" "days", while the second should be shorter. "

That explain it?  If this isn't the case, please post the rules you use.

  • Smart playlist without taking into account the time of power

For many of my songs, I put options in iTunes to start at some point (start for example, eliminated song a movie after the composers finished introduce), or stop at some point (for example, end "A Day in the Life" until the inner Groove goes off).  However, when I listen to them on my iPhone, via the list of each song, I said I love you, they begin to run and play all the way to the end.  Only when I listen to the song in a different playlist, or ask Siri Shuffle it for me, these options work as it should.  Does anyone else have this problem?  My solution would not work when I want to take the first song myself at the time.

I also have this problem and it's really annoying! I'm on an iPhone iOS running 7 10.

It occurs in every playlist I have regardless of whether it was a smart playlist or the normal playlist I made.

Another thing that my phone has done is when the playlist rolls that some songs will be start of subject to halfway through the song. I don't know if it's because he plays from the point at which I jumped the song the day before. I manually checked every song in my iTunes library to make sure that the box saying "remember playback position" only is unchecked (took me a while). Each box is unchecked. Ugh. I hope it's a little bug iPhone will fix as soon as possible.

  • do not copy songs in the smart playlist for 10 iOS device

I have upgraded to 12.5.1.21 on my Mac Mini Tuesday and set iTunes to update my iPhone 6 and Air iPad for iOS 10.  I also have an iPod Touch 5 which is glued to the ISM 9, which turns out to be a blessing.  In iTunes I have a large number of smart playlists, which many turning content at least recently played or update filters to filter the songs that were played in the last week, for example.  So when I play songs in the list, then update the list in iTunes, the songs played are removed, and new songs come in.  Everything works well.

Until I update my iOS 10 devices.  When I update the playlist in iTunes on Mac, it shows the new content.  When I update my iDevice, it shows the set songs to date on the device, using the view from iTunes on Mac.  When I disconnect the device and check the reading list, there is no songs.  All the songs in the playlist have disappeared.  The songs are really there, but the device iTunes lost them or they were never really copied.

It does not have other types of playlists. It seems to only affect smart playlists with date restrictions. My iPod Touch always behaves very well with the same smart playlists.  So maybe not a problem with iTunes on Mac, but iTunes iOS 10.

I also found that the smart playlists which depend on other playlists (i.e. they understand a rule "Playlist is... ") are similarly broken and empty in the iOS 10 (but they agree in iTunes on a Mac (for now)).  This is true if the original selection is also a smart playlist, or just a regular manual selection.

However, I followed the tips in this article, and that fixed it for me: http://www.techradar.com/how-to/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/ios-10-pr oblems-here-s-how-to-fix-the-most-common...

In short, everything Unsync broken playlists (i.e. remove them your phone) and then add them in.  It took a bit big for me to understand how juggling UNSYNC all my playlists without him also remove the associated music (mainly because I did not want to wait that it will copy my entire library over), but after I made, my playlists all started working for me again.

Maybe he'll help with date rules as well?

  • illustrations of 12.5 iTunes no sync for iPhone & smart playlist in disorder

    Hello

I've updated to iTunes 12.5 and I have two problems, the work which has come mainly from apples when Sync you to my iPhone ios10.01 it synchronizes approximately 10% of the covers...

the second thing is on the smart playlists, I can't find a way get the list of reading to stay in the newer supplementary order. You add a new song, and he ends by below, rather than above

I have the same problem on the cover art not sync... I got it in the last 3 betas, I would say. Expected to get fixed for GM, but it didn't. I tried to reset my iTunes (copy my media on the desktop and delete the "iTunes Media" folder, and then add it again any music) with no luck... I pointed out twice in the application of your comments also. I hope that someone will find that a fix/Apple will fix it soon...

  • Playing songs not controlled in the smart playlists

I have a lot of smart playlists to my favorite bands, all these work fine. Most of the bands have a greatest hits album and I Don t want these appear in the smart playlists, so I uncheck them.

Now I ve created a list of smart playlist to play only more great songs from hits of a certain kind and although the playlist fills correctly I can´t play because all the songs are unchecked.

Is there a way to get around this?

    TIA

Although the playlist fills correctly I can´t play because all the songs are unchecked.

    Tmoore,

If a song is disabled in the library, it will be disabled in any playlist it is in.

Instead of smart playlists, use regular playlists.  If there is an album ("Greatest Hits") that you want to include, just omit it.  Then, you can let all your songs checked.

  • Is there a way to set the smart playlists colors?

iTunes now seems to give some background colors randomly for the smart playlists. Generally, they are much too dark and it is difficult to read the text. Is there a way to change that so they are a defined color or at least a clear background.

As you watch this playlist, you can use the iTunes menu to change a setting for:

View > view as > songs

  • How do I rate songs in the smart playlist in 12.4.3?

The "evolution" If iTunes makes me crazy. I have a smart playlist, songs that I have evaluated. I want to play songs in the list and rates but can't find the rating column and don't see side option, when I right-click.

The only way I found to do this is to open the Info on the song and he do. It is a ROYAL pain.

Check more carefully, the ranking column is always available.

  • Smart playlist does not correctly synchronize with the iPhone

I have a list of smart playlist in iTunes on my Macbook chooses 200 songs in my library based on 'least recently played', only checked in the songs, live update. My iPhone is updated via iTunes sync (no iCloud, Apple game, etc.). If I connect my iPhone and view its contents on my Macbook, the reading list "on my iPhone" seems to be the same as for the Macbook. However, when I look at the playlist on the iPhone itself, lack many of the songs in the playlist. They are on the iPhone in the song list, but not on the reading list.

I tried to create a new list of smart playlist with the same criteria... same problem.

I tried to uncheck 'Music' of criteria for iPhone sync (by removing all the music in the phone), then adding back again... same problem.

I created a second smart playlist on my Macbook, which has selected songs using the criteria that they be on the first list of reading ("playlist is equal to [playlist name]"). I chose the second selection to sync to my iPhone. The songs missing from the 1st reading on the iPhone list appear on the 2nd reading on the iPhone list! So the bug seems to be something to do with the 1st playlist selecting songs from the play date function library and iPhone accept not for the determination of the Macbook which happens on the playlist.

It's really weird that the contents of the iPhone shown on the Macbook is not the same as what was on the iPhone. Must I deduce that the contents of the iPhone shows which is assumed to be on the iPhone and not information from the unit itself?

    I use iTunes 12.4.3.1.

Everybody runs into this problem recently?

Update: I tried to sync the playlist to my old Nano, and all the songs are there. So it doesn't seem to be an iPhone / iOS / music application.

  • iTunes: unable to read smart playlist in Windows 10

    I use iTunes, 10 64-bit Windows. iTunes Version: 12.4.3.1

I created a smart playlist that has 240 songs in.  When I tried to play the smart playlist, using all available options to play the playlist, it is unable to play.  Nothing happens.  No error on the screen. nothing.  It is not just anything!

However, I am able to play a song in the playlist by clicking the button play the song or right click > option on the song to play.  And while the song is played, if I try to move to the next song in the playlist, playback stops.  I can manually select any song in the playlist and play.  The song is played to the end and playing then stop.  He don't play the next song.

I checked that shuffle is not lit (also tried with shuffle on), make sure the 'skip on shuffle' is not checked and we tried to recreate the playlist several times with nothing doesn't.

No problem with any other smart playlists that have more pieces than this embarrassing playlist.

    Help, please.

A proposal, you accidentally ctrl + click on a checkbox in this list, uncheck all the items it contains. Uncontrolled elements are ignored during normal playback of track in track but can be played on a wide basis. CTRL + click on a box empty or use Ctrl + A, then the context menu to check the selection.

  • Use a playlist as for what a smart playlist

I 4158 songs that I'm trying to manage and how I put it in place, it is very heavy to add any additional music. I have 1 playlist that has every song, and then another which is the same thing but only 3 4 and 5 star songs, then another which is only 4-5 and then another that is only 5. The first playlist is hand sorted in function a lot of different things and the others are similar, but without the songs that do not match the requirement of the coast. As it is right now if I want to add a song it's 5 star I have to add to all 4 playlists, and then drag it to the correct place in each of them. I was wondering if I could use the order of the first playlist that has all the songs to manage 3 other smart playlists with restrictions aside. The order of these playlists is paramount and I can't have itunes order it by something else that the order I put in place for the first playlist. Is there a way to accomplish what I'm asking?

    Double Saga

Sorry, but there isn't.  A smart, has another list of reading reading list does not inherit from the order of the original.  Once the smart playlist is formed, you can sort it by any column heading.  But any other command is a manual procedure.
