Razoring a clip?

How one not split a clip in Audition 3 (ie the razor)

Can it be done in multitrack?

Select the clip, position the playhead yellow (CTI or current-time indicator) where you want the split to occur, and then press CTRL + K to divide.  (Or right-click on the item and choose Split.)

  • "Clips selected razor" cut all clips

I have a Multi-track project and when I select "razor selected clips" ALL clips for editing. I double checked that I don't have a single track selected and I use mode ' clips ' the razor tool. Selected track color becomes brighter when selected, and the razor tool icon shows a unique Blade (instead of two smaller blades). What could I hurt to cause all the clips to selected account?

I'm sure that this is most relevant for you, but for someone else who might be reading this thread, press "r" again. The 'r' key switches between the razor tool modes. You'll notice that in a way, there are two razors and blue line runs through all tracks; in the other mode, there is a razor and the blue line only through a single track. Here's how to know which mode you are. I hope this helps someone in the future.

  • Captioning in Premiere Pro like medieval torture... why, at this time?

So, here am I, a videographer from the opera (and the editor in Chief). My task: take the PowerPoint file that the company used as surtitles (above the stage) and make subtitles with it. Wow! First - I've used for the past eight years-allowed just creation of subtitles! Looks for a match in the sky! Well well... None. The editor is a) intuitive, b) no interactive and c) all just stupid in its design. I put my first legend - this is Act 3 LA BOHÈME the sweep of entry "Hey there, guards! Do I really out of this DVD and design caption/subtitle tracks in Encore CS6 which has a Publisher better than this piece of disgust?

Now, imagine this scenario: I just make beautiful videos of 4K (more a Livestream of new year) eight performances. I'd use the same piece of legend and to refine the legends visually to adapt to fluctuations of tempo and different breaks that four different casts of the opera (4 sopranos play Mimi, 3 playing Musetta, 4 tenors singing Rodolfo, 3 baritones Marcello singing in different performances) to different shows (they are not robots and the timings are different in various shows). Nice to meet you ElJayBronx.  I am a programmer for hearing and creation. Before Adobe, I had recorded many operas while in school and my internship working on broadcasts of the Vienna Staatsoper.  So, I have an appreciation for what you do.  Are what company you satisfied to opera?

My task: take the PowerPoint file that the company used as surtitles (above the stage) and make subtitles with it. Wow! First - I've used for the past eight years-allowed just creation of subtitles! Looks for a match in the sky!

First took the opportunity to burned in subtitles for years via the titration module.  In a recent update of creative cloud, we have added the option burn-in captions to export.  I guess the latter is what you are referring.

The editor is a) intuitive, b) no interactive and c) all just stupid in its design.

If you speak on the Panel of legends that is used to modify or retarget the subtitles encoded, I want to give some information.  A few years ago I and others on the team were charged with creating a workflow for customers of broadcast on this day that someone could edit video in first Pro, without having closed captions (usually embedded in the video signal) fell on the ground.  There are different ways some NLE do that, but in our customer research, we found that many broadcasters also wanted to change pre-existing of captioning.  Usually, this should be a Retiming or maybe fixing a spelling error.  We never had the intention that there be a solution for people to manually enter many captions (or subtitles) from scratch.  However, we wanted to give some of the features that could make some minor changes.  Every year at the NAB Show, I was really surprised by the number of people who go into the voting booth and say, they created subtitles via this Panel from scratch.  My eyes open usually wide as does my jaw. I tell them something along the lines "wow, it must be painful', to which they respond with the assertion but also to point out that he avoids them having to buy dedicated (and expensive) captioning software.

I put my first legend - this is Act 3 LA BOHÈME the sweep of entry "Hey there, guards! Open the door! "After going through hoops (create track legend, add to the timeline, add text in a dialog box) I see little boxes that I created... I can move them? Again, the intent of the closed captioning stream was for content that was already captioned.  I agree with you that it makes sense to have subtitles on the real movable clip markers, as clip markers are (hence the similar user interface).  However, I will point out that you can actually do this by editing the normal timeline.  You can actually razor the clip with the legends and make your move and cutting in this way. Once I show this to video editors, they usually pick up on it immediately and workaround is not so painful.  As a reminder, by slide and hack subtitle markers on a clip: a painful tease that's going nowhere slide and hack the captioning of the clips themselves, however, is as fluid as it is elsewhere in the timeline.

The team working on this thing heard of WYSIWYG?

    Yes.

The rest of this program is designed to be visually adjusted. THIS is not the case.

We weren't able to do a WSIWYG implementation due to the complexity of the way in which the coded subtitles are encoded. It relies on technology from the beginning of the 1980s (late of the 1970s for Teletext for PAL) and has many limitations that makes things connecting to a harder visual interface.  Can it be done? Yes. Wouldn't be a lot of work? Without a doubt.

Do I really out of this DVD and design caption/subtitle tracks in Encore CS6 which has a Publisher better than this piece of disgust?

If your result is a DVD or Blu - Ray, which might be a better choice than the current workflow of captioning in first.  The callback functions are designed so that it looks like you are trying to reach.

I am paralyzed by this horrible thing. The subtitles in Encore CS6 Editor is much better than that.

Please try to chop the subtitle clips themselves as described above. You can resynchronize than elsewhere everything as if you were to sync up to an audio clip in the timeline panel.

WHO DESIGNED THIS THING AND WHY THEY STILL HAVE JOBS?

I did as well as some other team.  I always go to the office every day because the work is not done, and I am pleased to have an impact on the work done for our customers.

    It's disgusting. Please fix.

Noted. I can't talk publicly about the plans for future work, but be aware that many of us on the team to read your message here as well as your email that went through the tech support escalation process.

    Charles

P.S. I would like to see the work you do with the first. I'm not interested in criticizing it, but I would like to see it because the last measures of the 4th act in La Bohème still gives me chills.

  • [HELP]! Ultra key to start position

    Hello!

So, I need to know if there is a way to start the Ultra effect key at some point. I have a clip of the intro and it slides down to black screen, I would replace this black screen of the video on the other track video but when I chroma key, it affects the whole intro clip that messes up the content. (For example I am remove the black screen but each black pixel in the whole clip is getting removed). S o I need to the ultra key effect starts later and not be active for the full clip.

Razor the clip to where you want that Ultry key to start.

  • Need help with the remapping of speed

So here's my question. (check the photo below to see the chronology)

I'm working on a script and I have a clip somewhere in the middle of this timeline. Now, I put two markers that close off the area of the clip I want to idle. And then I drag the rubberband now at 50%. This causes the clip obviously become longer.

But the problem is that it doesn't push the clip that comes later, it submerges just sort of and I lose a part of the clip that I put in slow-mo.

http://gyazo.com/0cce5ab07e22897f21a25e3308a9cbb5.PNG Here is a picture of my calendar.

So my question is how can I make sure that the clip is pushed forward automatically?

I know how to solve this problem with some dragging and pulling, but I want to be as effective as I can not get into bad habits.

    Thank you!

If all you want to do is simply slow down or speed up a clip, use the settings speed/duration - it is probably the simplest way to induce a change in speed. It is a change of pace, you can also do it with the time remapping effect - which is what I think you did.

The advantage of the time remapping effect, is that it allows variable speed changes within a single instance of an element. For example, suppose that you would like your item to start at 100% speed, slow down immediately at 25%, then immediately speed up to 200%. You can do this with speed/duration, simply by razoring the clip to the specific points where you want the speed change occur and then change the setting of the speed/duration to this instance of the item. With the time remapping effect, not only can you do this without having to cut the clip, but you can also create "ramps" from one speed to the other - where the aspect of variable speed. You can even freeze a clip or reverse the trend, all without having to edit the clip into small pieces. This can result in a much smoother effect, but it would still be not what you're after. Redefinition of the time has a bit of a learning curve, but it's really the most powerful of the two. Simply decide what is best for your application.

An additional advantage and I may be wrong on this, but I think that using the remapping effect temporal results function of (theoretically) more high quality speed change effect thanks to an algorithm different or some-such. It uses different techniques to generate the interpolated images created in a change of speed, which should look smoother than if they were done with the command of speed/duration.

    Hope the helps a little.

  • Batch conversion clips cut with a razor instead of in and out of the points. How?

I cut a lot of clips on a large file with the razor instead of marking in and out points, and now I want to batch convert. How?

You can do it in first Pro CC, but not before. Do drag the clips to the timeline in a locker and then export.

  • Problem with DL'd razored clips-CS4

I razored an element in the mounting PP and then linked dynamically the 1st clip of AE to a background of chroma key. It went well.

Then when I tried to DL with AE on the razored of the clip (in 3 parts) part 2, two clips popped up in AE, but seem to not be linked to a PP because I can't do anything with them in AE and the clip in PP is not displayed as a «Comp related»

I tried to rename the 2nd and 3rd razored clips, but not luck.

No idea what is the problem?

    THX.

PS Could someone please answer to the had problems with DL / keyed footage in HDV 720 p 60 sequence-CS4. THX.

I double-clicked the razored 2nd and 3rd clips in the source monitor. They had already input/output points, so I replaced the originals with these and the DL AE worked well.

  • Premiere Pro 5.5 make a subelement containing Razor Cut to create a clip

Premiere Pro 5.5 make a subelement containing several mode but in fact with a subelement

Select all the 3 clips, right-click the selection and choose nest. Type a name for the nested sequence and it will be added in the project Panel. Therefore, you can process the sequence that is nested as a single item.

    See you soon,.

  • The rendering of several clips into one video file?

    Hello

I'm completely new Premiere Pro. I decided to make my first video.

Here's what I did. I added my clip to the timeline, then I used the razor tool twice in order to slice clip in 3 small clips. Then I applied basic effects to a small clip in the middle.

So I decided to make the entire images. I put 'In' at the beginning of the first clip and placed 'Out' at the end of the last clip.

After I clicked on "make Sequence - in at Out ' I see that Premiere Pro product 4 videos: three videos of each of those that contains appropriate slice of the original clip and the 4th video seems to contain only 1 image of the original clip:

    Premiere Pro Rendering Video 1.png

Here are all the files created during the rendering process:

    Premiere Pro Rendering Video 2.png

So, instead of making 4 videos I need first to render the images together in a single clip. Please could you tell me how I can do?

I also tried to select all 3 clips and then made selection, but unfortunately I got the same result as above.

    Thank you!

    Thank you guys!

Yes, later that day I already understood how do. Nowdays Youtube is a source of all knowledge. I just look for "how this ' and ' how '. Previously, I used Sony Movie Studio 12, but after reinstalling OS on my PC, I decided to try Premiere Pro.

BTW, here is my first video. I spent probably 5 to 6 hours yesterday learning first LOL just to make this clip!

  • Volume: Best way to decrease the volume for a portion of a clip

I have an audio clip of speaking me - about 22 minutes. I knew it would be difficult to change because of its length, so I divided into eight sections and each section has recorded independently.

However, I made a couple of mistakes here and there. So instead of wasting time to record a whole clip again and again until I understand well, I have just re-recorded paragraphs which should be corrected.

So, imagine a master audio clip named Project1 in setting up first. In the track above, where the third paragraph starts, is another audio clip - Project1-3. I'm trying to understand the best way to kill the volume on Project1 - just for the duration of the third paragraph. So when I listen, I should hear the patch, Project1-3, instead of the main audio, Project1.

I checked a few tutorials, but I'm a bit confused. I thought it was something I have to do in the Source monitor, by using keyframes, but it does not work too well.

    I put a screen shot in line @ https://www.geobop.com/images/audio.png

In the upper left corner, you can see where I created a key by clicking on the Volume and selecting the level. It was set to 0 by default, so I changed the value of-20. But when I preview the video, I can still hear the sound and changes in value-20.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you.

Rather than apply keyframes to the Volume setting, you will find may be easier to use the razor tool to split the audio clip called "Project1" into several segments in the timeline panel.  Then, disable the unwanted segment (select it in the timeline panel and choose Clip > enable) or raise TI (press point comma), leaving a space.

Your tracks can be difficult to hear suddenly as the stopwatch for the effect of Volume Audio is enabled by default.  If you look at the effect controls panel, while the audio is selected, you can proceed to the next and previous keyframe to see what 'level' to each key frame.

  • Impossible to move one of my clips but can do everything else within the timeline

    Hello

Yesterday, this same exact project was working perfectly and now (the deadline) he suddenly decided to not cooperate, so I'm hoping for some suggestions please!

I can't drag anything in my calendar, I can't move the clips in the timeline AT ALL. I can always manipulate the clips already located in the timeline that is razor, extend, ripple edit etc. but they didn't budge.

    I did the following to try to rectify;

    (1) selected all tracks A & V (they go up to 5)

    (2) erased all my points of entry and

    (3) restarted and shut down my computer

    (4) copied and pasted a new project

I've been editing for a long time and it's never happened to me so I am at a complete loss what to do.

    Help, please!

I work on a Macbook Pro

    2.5 GhZ, i7

    OS X El Capitan

    +

    First CC v9.2

No I didn't - I've erased everything including keyframes and in & off peak.

I don't really know how it re-enabled itself after a few reboots and no buffering of the hard drives, but he just did. So no real revolution unfortunately.

    Thanks for your comments though!

  • How suspend you the effects in a clip? / Toggle their power

I have to blur a license plate, that works very well, but the car goes and come back. So I want to use the same effect, but at different times of the clip.

I simply cannot understand how to cut or enable/disable the blur effect.

You don't have all the razor tool. With the clip selected, press CTRL + K on the keyboard. That will insert an a point of editing (split the clip) where is the playhead.

  • Copy and paste that nothing happens. Razor does not crack.

My project file (prproj) is 606 MB in size, maybe it is exceptionally high. I have 64 GB of RAM, who is currently working for the organization taking on about 48GB of RAM. I don't see any of the obvious constraints.

But just recently, my editing has ground to a halt, that any attempt to copy/paste or sequences of razor doesn't do anything.

I'm about to begin the purge of the sequences of my project, I would also like to keep, to see if that helps. But on the side of Adobe, is there a limit to how many individual items in the body? Any other suggestions?

None of my drives are full. Apart from this question things seems to take place. I enjoyed that the most recent versions of the body can handle copy/paste of several clips from multi-cames without crashing. That used to be a problem. But with this problem, just trying to copy and paste a single item and it is unable to do anything. It is not things same multi-cam, just a WAV file.

    Jim & Folks,.

It is a plug-in audio that seems to be responsible.

Tried to reproduce the problem with various other clips in the body, most do not replicate. Why WAV clips? Ah... because I use "Dialogue iZotope TX 5 of noise" and it seems to be maybe a strict limit on this. I will contact their support department.

    Thanks for the suggestions-Gord

    UPDATE:

Hey, I did submit a bug report, before, I noticed the audio plug-ins, but not no trace it email. If someone in Adobe can kill who?

  • How to replace the audio clip with each other instead of stack

I'm editing a long track of narration in Audition, and I have to paste a small audio clip on narrative in several places.  I want the pasted clip to replace this part of the narrative, as it would in first.  What he does in hearing is battery clips, so if I choose narration for some reason, all the clips on the top of the narration are now moved behind her.  To get back them, I now spend the narration to an empty track clip, do the same with those who went behind and everything put back in the correct order.

Is it possible to have the clip pasted to replace what you paste it above as it would in first?

Thanks in advance for the help!

    Phillip

With the help of hearing CC 2015.1 build 8.1.0.162

No, unfortunately, if you work in multitrack view. An easy insertion function was requested to do exactly what you want but is not yet available.

The simplest solution is to split the clip to where you want to insert the new plug. You can do this either by using the Razor tool or the shortcut Ctrl-K. Then when you place the new clip on top it will show melted shackled at both ends. If you select one of the parts of the original item, you can click on the edge and drag it to the appropriate end of the new clip (leaving a chained if you wish or not fade).
