  I could probably write a test for my question but I thought it would be quicker to ask here first :-)
  
  Say I have a cluster with 126 storage nodes and the scores of 1891 - so each node has about 65 partitions

  -Failover backups become primary and create us backups more if suddenly the primary now uses more memory than the original primary (i.e. it will use the size of the units said it does) so for us a loss of node can result in a larger than normal jump in the use of memory on the remaining nodes, because we have now four copies of the value instead of three.
  
  If we now have to recover the failed node, there will be some shuffling more partitions. Now, if the node recovered back his original were leaving they would take space ore that they have done it before and the rest of the cluster would be tantamount to the use of memory it had before. If the recovered node gets allocated to the different partitions and then the recovered node will use more memory and other members who now have primary partitions from the failed node will use more space.
  
  Hopefull everyone can follow that. Basically, I think that, if we lose a node, we will see a bigger jump in memory would be a normal cluster and on the recovery of the node we will always use more memory than we were before because the recovered node did not return the partitions available.

  Yes, all your assumptions are fundamentally good (I'm not surprised that you did...). There is no guarantee that partitions move back to the original node if a node comes back again.

  The only thing I could suggest is to "remake" the "artifice of support card' that the partition is transferred or promoted. In the earphone of backingmap you will be able to determine that a new entry is inserted because of the movement of the partition and use it as the signal to make converge the support the cards on a single binary value. You may still temporarily more memory you want, but you would correct as partition movement happens.

• Can't resize external backup Time Machine in the hard disk partition

  I have a Seagate Expansion to drive 3 that I use for storing files as well and Time Machine. Initially when I set up the drive, I allocated 350GB for the partition that I use with Time Machine.

  I use a 256GB MacBook Pro and Time Machine is now advising me constantly backup capsule is short of space. I have 2 questions:

  1. Disk utility does not allow me to resize the partition of Time Machine (I can only reduce the size using resize controls). Also, I can't delete the partition, because the minutes signed is grayed out (see screenshot) - However, I am able to erase this partition. What can I do to resize (and expand) this partition, or delete it and create a larger partition for use with Time Machine?
  2. What is the best size to send to the Time Machine partition in order to keep my Mac saved 256 GB?

  A drive that is mounted or shared may present as "Busy" that could prevent resizing.

  Try to disassemble the disc (with the assembly/disassembly button in disk utility) and see if it works better. Then mount it again before leaving the disk utility, or do a reboot to mount again.

• Pavilion X 2: Using the recovery partition

  Windows 10 upgrade removes the information out of the recovery partition and let the 5.9 GB of unusable 32 GB player, how can I make use of this space.

  Assuming that you no longer want to keep this partition, my suggestions is to download and install the tool Minitool Partition Wizard and use it to remove the recovery partition and add that the space that is not allocated to an existing partition.

  You can do the same thing with MS disk management, but Minitool is much more powerful and flexible.

• Resize the Windows Server 2003 boot partition

  My client has Server 2003 with a RAID. The system volume / start is 12 GB. Right next to this boot on the partition volume is 30 GB of unallocated space. The rest of the disk is allocated to a separate partition in which all their data lives.

  Can I expand the boot volume to include the 30 GB of unallocated space? If so, how?

• Looking for help on the restructuring after several virus attacks

  I want to reformat my laptop (Compaq Persario CQ61).

  I caught a backdoor, Trojan a few months back and I can't keep my computer virus. It takes all the Anti Virus software that I install. I ordered and received Windows 7 operating and the CD of drivers a few days ago. But I'm not too computer savvy when it comes to something like this and everything I read about reformatting is scare the heck out of me--looks like a lot of problems trying to do this?

• Want 2 X 128 GB SSD space is missing

  Anyone know why the 128 GB SSD on a desire X 2 would have only 116 GB of total space?  It is the TOTAL space allocated to the 4 partitions that have been preconfigured on the disk, NOT total free space.  I wonder if this gap (or other problems) might be the reason why HP no longer be offering the possibility of CTO of 128GB?

  You see the name of the SSD in the Device Manager? It will tell you the actual model and you can find the actual capacity. Incidentally 128 GB raw by any provider is actually only about 119,1 GB (128,000,000,000/(1024*1024*1024)).

  More info on this subject is that, clearly, that the pc as stock is not intended for windows 7 cause win 7 perfomance dragged down and cannot find a way to install xp. Like I said im using usb to install but whenever I have try it can't find the drivers, even though I've added with nlite and I tried to use windows xp 64 sp 1 that could be the problem too. But anyway I have driver SATA used32bit_ATI_SB7xx_RAID & AHCI_driver_v9-4_WHQL and sp43839 and could not get to work cause they said that I have to insert Perrine everything I did or however I tried. So please I need help cause im trying to dual boot with xp and 7.

• Cloning a virtual machine to a disk size and model

  Hi all, I cloned successfully a vm from a template. I resized the HDD in a new size of 50 GB 20 GB models and completed the conversion. The clone, the space allocated to the system partition remained 20 GB and shows the remaining new size (30 GB) size as unallocated space in disk management.

  I called the Technical Support Center and they said that this is how it is supposed to be the case, although I previously resized the HDD when cloning and successfully using all the space reconfigured to the system partition. They recommended to convert the clone (using the converter) on another virtual computer and resize the disk. Anyone with a concrete solution to this is very welcome.

  In modern devices, there is a kind of 'barrier, limit' to the more than 2 TB HDD storage.

  Your WD 3 TB Red must be initialized using the table to partition GUID (GPT). This system supports the full storage capacity. That I can see, your motherboard supports the UEFI BIOS (which is a necessity). If it didn't, you wouldn't be able to initialize your disk to GPT and format the entire 3 TB of disk capacity.

  Here is a link that could really help you. There are definitions and explanation of your problem, then the "overall requirements for a no bootable volume of data" and 'Global requirements for a bootable system volume', you should read if you want that your HARD drive is bootable or not.

  You can find how to initialize your disc under the title 'How to initialize a disk of data with the help of TPG'. Then you can freely to partition and format your Red WD and he should have distributed the entire capacity of 3 TB.

  It never makes sense to totally eliminate the swap file and don't forget that the swap file is not a Microsoft invention designed to shoot to the top of the hard drive space. OS UNIX, Linux and Mac too, independently use the totals of RAM...

  Could you clarify what you mean by;

  (A) do you mean you modified the virtual machine and added a second disc, rather than increase the size of the original? or;

  (B) you increase the size of the original disk and create a new partition in this free space?

  Be that as it may, the question should be simple to solve;

  (A) remove the second disk you don't need, increase the size of the original. Then from the OS Disk Manager, rescan the disks and extend C:\ in free space.

  (B) delete the partition that you don't need. From the OS Disk Manager, expand C:\ in free space.

  Hi, Yes, looks like that when you have done the clean install of Windows 10, you did not wipe the entire hard drive clean first.  The 7 GB partition you see is probably the Windows 8.1 recovery partition remains.  You can delete it now that you run Windows 10, but you cannot extend the C: drive to include the recovered.

  You can repeat the clean install new wiping clean the whole disc first. There are instructions here.  I had 19 GB available on my C: drive after a new installation of Windows 10 on my 11 flow.
