• Outline Extractor Olap performance via command line fails

  
  Hello

  I want to run the extractor of Olap outline via a command line. I created a file with the GUI .properties. I can launch the GUI very well and everything works.

  Now I want to start this a scheduled task and it does not work with "the main class is not found: com.appliedolap.olapunderground.essbase.outline.extractor.ui.ExtractorFrame." Program will exit.

  The command is:

  D:\apps\olap-outline-extractor\olapunderground-outline-Extractor.cmd-PROPRIETES \\adev99\epmsess$\data\_production\otl\ACT\ACTLoadFile.properties

  The location where the Starter is on D:\Programs\Informatica

  It has to do with the java classes and the path, but I do not understand to work.

  He must find olapunderground-contour - extractor.jar, which is in the same directory as the utility, what I'd like to try editing olapunderground-contour - extractor.cmd and try

  : runGui

  The rest of the java classes required seem to be in the lib directory and not the directory of classes.

  And maybe add to be sure

  Set CLASSPATH=D:\apps\olap-outline-extractor\lib;D:\apps\olap-outline-extractor\classes;%CLASSPATH%

  or just start in the right directory

  When I run the program, I got a message "this instance of the Essbase outline Extractor has been compiled.
  with Essbase Runtime Client version 11.1.1.0. 11.1.1.3 appears the Essbase Runtime Client version on your machine.
  If you have problems please install the correct version of the Essbase outline Extractor. »
  
  I tried the extractor outline above it still works on 32-bit windows computer, but it doesn't work on 64-bit windows computer.
  Is it because of the above problem? Does anyone know if outline Extractor is supported for windows 2003 server 64-bit?

  Outline Extractor is written in Visual Basic. Visual Basic does not work on 64-bit Windows (and never will be because Microsoft stopped supporting years VB).

  I use Essbase outline 9.3.1 Extractor to extract of Essbase 9.3.1 and I need a little bit of a hand in the interpretation of the results\Output. I'm after properties but dynamic Calc, shared, never share Member and aggregation. Can anyone help me please with the definitions for the column Property0.
  
  I also want to use the output to load via the contour load utility, it will be able to read all the columns that are exported by the extractor Outlinr?

  In the eyes of SER60 in the section "creating rules files. It lists the codes member than the outputs for example outline Extractor X property - dynamic Calc etc.

  You can also search the "member property codes" (exact phrase) in the SER60 and it will take you just here... Sorry I'm not good at the display of links to things SER60 online...:)

  I have a situation where I have to use the OBIEE for Essbase outline. I use 9.3.1 and I need to extract the measures dimension of contour Essbase (BSO) that I can use to build a same dimension on OBIEE. I need to know what tool I can use for this purpose. I have two things in my mind, or I used the extractor contour or ODI. Please let me know the right tool for this situation or how I can do this.

  an easier way might be maintained by Applied Olap contour extraction tool you can use odi to extract the desired data. It is a free tool and works really well. You can run it in batch mode and can extract one dimension or all dimensions in multiple formats. Their product regulr Dodeca is really good as well.

  unless you have written something using the API, then no, you cannot update the members of metadata in Essbase in Smart View. You can planning for the update of the members of Smart View(Not EPMA created but Classic) metadata and pushed to the Essbase in Smart View cube

  If you want to migrate all of the cube, you could just copy the file .otl from one server to another. If you want to dimension by dimension, you can use the puller contour available at applied olap, or maybe ODI or the outline of the Star Analytics extraction tool. Versions of the first and the third are available free of charge through the genorosity of these companies

• Outline Extractor connection button question

  Version: EMP 11.1.2.3

  properly installed EMP 11.1.2.3 (Essbase, Planning, Essbase Studio etc.) on a windows 64-bit computer.

  All components work properly.

  However, unable to connect to Essbase by using an Extractor (11.1.2.3) overview. For example, used the solution in the blog below and have been able to get the Connect button work.

  Unknowly, I have upated the Variable path of Essbase 64 bit instead of create a new variable of path as mentioned in the blog. Now, EMP as StartEPMSystem, Configtool.bat etc system batch files do not work. When these files are raned from the command prompt, it displays a message "Variable path not found". Any suggestions?

• Essbase outline 9.2. in 11.1.1.3 migration

  Hello waiting,
  Asked me to migrate 9.2 to 11.1.1.3 contour and I am new to Essbase. If I simply
  
  (1) create a new application and the data in the new environment with the same name as the old environment.
  (2) copy and paste the outline of the old to the new environment.
  
  Is that enough, what I need to change all other manually before contour actually load data of level 0 and run the script of consolidation.

  You mean a Windows Explorer file copy and paste the source of 9.2 to the 11.1.1.3 dbname.otl environment as well as any other .csc., .rul files etc?

  That should do it. I want to stop the app/db after I make a copy like this - sometimes EAS does not see the new schema file, although I think it's something the latest versions - I accumulate just habits I ever get rid of and it does not hurt.

  Don't forget things as variable substitution, alias location, ODBC settings, etc..

  If you search this forum you will find numerous threads on this subject coming into the process in detail.

  Can you please help.

  In the dimension of accounts using the file rules of construction, in the entry for the Member "OFFDEPT" file, I have the codes of the property in the form of nitrogen that is coming as never part in outline. And once again in the input file, I entered line for the Member "OFFDEPT" but it has no any code of member property. But to outline Member Shared "OFFDEPT" is created under the other parent in the same dimension. The input file doesn't have a property member to Member Shared code. Can you please indicate the Member is created as a Shared member in the sketch without specifying the code of the property member of the input file.

  Are there settings that is the value that makes this "OFFDEPT" Member as member automatically shared from the dimension already has "OFFDEPT" never shared?

  IF you are building the size of a file that is in a format of parent/child, it will automatically make the first instance of a member as stored and following instances (with a different parent) shared. For level or generation versions, it's more work to actually get running sums of shared member.

  You can prevent shared members of Benedict created by going in the generation of dimension properties and specifying to not allow shared members

  I have an Essbase cube and now I want to use this plan to develop an application of planning using EPMA. I'm looking for the most effective way to do that is to use the otl Essbase file to create the planning application. The otl file was created from a classic planning application.

• New account members missing in Essbase outline...

  I use Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.1.0.
  
  I've added a few new members in the dimension account and then refreshed the database by going to "Administration"->"manage database"-> update.
  Yet when I go to Eas console to see the outline... these new members are not present in the outline.
  
  I tried to create the planning database and then refresh the list of database EasConsole, but without result.
  
  I need these accounts to create a report using FR. But I don't see these new accounts in the account selection list.
  
  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated...

  I guess you certainly check the good database that you can assign the account against another type of plan.

  I assume that you have a back up of your data and objects (rules, calc scripts to load...)
  If you do, go to INJURED remove databases, not the application. Then, go to planning and execution has create, if must recreate databases and populate.

  I have an application that has two types of plan.  The contours are identical and customer wants to merge into the type of dieting.  I have created a new application and want to build from scratch with one type of plan.  I'm trying to use the contour load utility but short in questions as on good number of their declining intensity, they have commas in the name.  So it has problems.   Is there a way to solve this without removing the commas in the names of the members first?
