Re-installation of Windows Vista error
I'm doing a clean re install of Vista on my computer. After booting from the installation CD, everything goes well until what happens to a point where it says "finish installation" (I get green check marks next to "copy of windows files, expansion of files, installation of the features and install updates"). Once it gets to the point "finish installation", it just gets stuck. Finally, all I get is a blank screen with a cursor. I tried this several times with the same result.
The computer will not start, even in safe mode (probably because that it doesn't have a full OS on it more).
Thank you!
If you use the manufacturer's recovery disk, contact the manufacturer of the computer.

tan7655,
If I read this correctly, you have a portable computer that do not have an operating system on it. You try to install Vista and get the error.
You've restarted the Vista installation? So then you get the same error? If you have tried to install more than once and continue to receive this error, check that the laptop is capable of Vista? You may need to check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if it is able to support Vista. Mike Microsoft responds to the technical support engineer

How can I fix windows vista error, pshed.dll 0xc0000221 lack?
I get this error for more than 2 weeks now. I did not change anything or install/download anything. It says it is missing or damaged PSHED.dll error0xc0000221. I tried to use the vista disc to repair but it never works, it is said that he cannot fix. I'm unable to start the computer because of all this help is appreciated!
Hi Chiomaa,
The file PSHED. DLL is part of the component that allows hardware errors to be generated.
Since you are unable to boot to Windows, try to run a checkdisk boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista.
Note: When you run the disk check, there are chances of losing data if you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.
a. Insert the installation disc and restart your computer.
Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.
For more information, see the article:
BIOS: Frequently asked questions
b. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
c. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt
d. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER
Chkdsk /f /r X: (drive letter)
e. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.
f. restart the computer.
For more information, you can consult the following article:
What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?
If the problem persists, then you should make a backup of important data and try to reinstall Windows Vista.

Keyboard output incorrect characters after the re-installation of Windows Vista on Dell XPS M1530
Original title: some of the keys on the keyboard messed up after re-installation of Windows Vista on Dell XPS M1530
Hey guys,.
I have recently reinstalled windows because last year I picked up a few errors that I couldn't fix it easily and I wanted a clean slate.
I have install all the drivers etc, but I noticed on my keyboard, if I try and make a "sign it comes up with a sign @ and vice versa." There are also others like that, so I guess that my keyboard readers need to update? Although I have no idea why they would need updating as they were before.
Anyway, I went here: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&ServiceTag=&SystemID=XPS_M1530&os=WLH&osl=en&catid=&impid= and I tried to find the driver I need, but could not find them.
So, overall, my question is should I update the drivers? If so, how?
And if not, how can I fix?
Thank you. :)
Hi cripple.
Thank you for your message.
Was is happening until you have reinstalled Windows?
How do you reinstall Vista, what steps did you take?
What is a wireless keyboard?
If this is the case, check the batteries and make sure that the keyboard is very close to the receiver (a few inches) to see if the problem resolves.
I suggest updating your anti-virus definitions and run a fun system scan.
You can connect another keyboard to your computer to see if it might be the fault of the keyboard?

Help to perform a new installation of Windows Vista 64-bit.
Original title: Clean Install.
I am wanting to perform a clean installation of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I would like to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I was told, during the custom Setup, that I could choose which bit to install.
Hello
With Vista, you do not boot from an external drive to install it.
It is an option in Windows 7.
And they told you to contact Microsoft for support.
Microsoft does not provide support for OEM installations.
In Vista, 32 bit and 64 bit come on different DVDs.

The user profile Service has not logon. User profile cannot be loaded.http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/947215#letmefixit
If you tried to log on to Windows and received an error message telling you that your user profile is damaged, you can try to fix it. You will need to create a new profile and then copy the files from the existing to the new profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

Second installation was successful, but the installation failed initial always appears at startup upward. At a complete loss to know where to find entries that say my system there are 2 installs of Windows Vista. When launched the CD to 'view' where this "alternate" install is shows unknown HDD to address 0 w a lack of disk space. Of course, it is more than likely that only some files in the registry or the system "ask" that there is a current installation. Where can I find these to remove them? Have not found anything on any forum re: this issue. TYVM<3!>3!>
I see that a "MVP" edited the title of the question, but it did NOT reflect what the question. Please leave the full question in the title of the post. My problem is not a simple installation of 'failure '. I just want to find out where the entries are which are originally to show 2 Windows Vista o/s when I 'start' my computer when there are 'only' real installation. Note: I have two we HARD a WinXP Pro, the other Vista disks. At the start, it shows "Versions of Windows" and then Windows Vista and finally Windows Vista again. The non-existing o/s installation failed is the 3rd entry.
Modify the boot.ini file to remove the installation failed (make sure that you remove the right pair) or in msconfig, check the boot paths

Download the "error 0x8007000D Code" during the installation of Windows Vista.
Original title: 0x8007000D error Code
Hello
I tried to look at related issues of mine to see if the answer given in this section may be useful for me. Unfortunately, none of them were useful, so I decided to make my own thread to see if I get a response that will help me.
When I turn on my laptop (IBM Thinkpad) I get a black screen with writing: "operating system is not found" (not the complete text, sorry...)
Although I forgot to mention, I get this on another computer, not the one I'm currently using.
So I tried Google cela one realized that my OS was corrupted. I then tried to reinstall my OS using a CD bootable to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. When I type in the product key in characters I get the following:
"Windows cannot open the required file D:/Sources/Install.wim.Make sure that all the files required for the installation and restart the installation. 0x8007000D error code. »
Now remember that I currently use another computer on this type because I can't get my screen to start the computer I get the 'operating system is not found' on. That's why can't get a diagnostic report.
This is where I got stuck & don't know what to do, I'm not sure if it's the CD that has the problem or product key, or maybe even the computer itself. Someone has an idea? What would be really useful.
EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I discovered the cell with the error was originally a Windows XP as OS, but when I bought it, the OS is a Windows Vista.
Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question. Looks like you get the error when you try to install Windows Vista.
After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.
Method 1:
First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.
Method 2:
Unplug all external/usb devices before installing Windows Vista.
If the problem persists after you perform the methods, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the computer or use another drive to install Windows Vista.Hope this information helps. If you have any questions with Windows do not hesitate to answer and we will be happy to help.
