trying to do a clean installation of windows vista by using the dvd

I am trying to simply destroy my computer and start clean using the reinstall DVD supplied with my dell PC. It has windows Vista Home Basic on it. When I put the DVD in its loading and a window pops up asking if I want to install and I press Yes. After a while a box appears that says I don't have enough storage for temporary files. He needs so many megabytes of free space on a partition to be able to load the disc. the problem is that I have NOTHING on the computer, there should be more sufficient storage space! How can I get the DVD to run?

Hello

If there is no data on the computer, then you can try to format the hard drive and then install vista on it.

  • Clean installation of windows vista Professional (copy provided by msdn)

    Hello

I have some old windows XP SP2 and sys. specs are Intel 3 Ghz processor and 2 GB of ram
The hard drive is only 40 GB
I'm upgrading my computer (only the operating system) and you want to install the copy of windows vista business - provided by MSDN
    Here's the problem
I've logged into my account and have a free copy, so when I try to download it through me the 4 step procedure and wants to be stored (downloaded) directly online in the TEMP FOLDER.
-> (download, authorization, unpacking and installation processes).
I want to do a clean install of VISTA professional AND would like to get rid of windows XP SP2.
How would do this, because I wonder to execute a procedure of the 4 step (see arrow above).
    Would appreciate suggestions and help.
    Thank you
    MT

    Hello mt4448,

MSDN software are downloaded as ISO files (finally they do when I download them). The ISO must be burned on a DVD and then it is simply a case of starting your PC, insert the DVD into your DVD drive and then restarting the PC again. You do not want to check that your DVD player is your first boot drive if the installation does not start.

Take a look at this link from my Web site: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/install_windows_vista.htm

Also visit this link to change the priority of the disc: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_enable_cdrom_support_i.htm

If you have a modern PC 2 to 3 years already, the CD/DVD drive should be set as first boot option.

  • How can I restore previous e-mails after re-installation of Windows Vista and using Windows Mail?

How can I get previous emails after reinstalling windows, use windows mail. I have windows vista. I used the mail for windows for years. my computer just crashed and I had to install new to include windows-based messages. now, I've lost all the previous insalliation e-mail. can I get it back?

    original title: previous emails

If you reinstalled Vista without saving your messages, they are gone, unless you have kept a copy of messages on the server. If it is a POP3 account, you must have done this choice. If it is an IMAP account, messages must be on the server.

  • Reinstallation of Windows Vista by using the upgrade media

I'm trying to fix my friends computer. Each time it starts up, it says Windows could not load the NLS being missing or corrupted data. Reinstall Windows Vista. When I try to reinstall vista using the CD there that said to use use this product key you must start Windows installation while running your existing version of Windows. What does that mean? What should I do? The computer used to have XP and it has upgraded to Vista using this CD.

If Vista is an upgrade, so it must be installed as an upgrade.  Install the original XP operating system and turn it on.  Then upgrade to Vista and which to activate.  You can't ignore all during the first stage.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Windows Vista - cannot use the TRENDNet TBW-102UB Bluetooth device

    Hello

I am facing a problem that occurs when try to connect the device Bluetooth on Satellite A135-S4637 with Windows Vista Home Premium.

The Bluetooth device is a TrendNet TBW-102UB and in XP it works fine.
The error message is "peripheral Bluetooth is not ready."
After new installation updated from the manufacturer's Web site the problem persists.
Is there a service pack for Vista which fix this kind of problem or it is something relational to the Toshiba Bluetooth software?

    Thank you
    Daniel

    Hello

Please don't be crazy on me, but I do not understand the relationships for Toshiba laptop. Are you sure that all the USB ports on your laptop running at 100%?

If Yes, all this has something to do with this external device, driver and settings. To be honest, the manufacturer must provide Vista compatible software. Do you think so?

  • Re: Unable to activate Windows Vista Business using the Microsoft key

I am facing difficulties to activate the microsoft package, whenever I enter the product key printed on the label attached to my pc, it says wrong key.
    Help, please.

The key to Microsoft, that you can find on the lower side of your laptop is not a kind of universal key and this key belongs to Vista preinstalled on your laptop. You got your laptop with Vista preinstalled. With your laptop, you have paid a license and an operating system.

After recall of Toshiba you must create Toshiba Recovery DVD or this facilities you can use if often you want with your laptop. This version of Vista belongs to you and can only be used with your laptop.

If you are using Microsoft facilities DVD you must have the key for this version. If you do not, you must purchase a key online and activate a preinstalled Vista version.

I am wanting to perform a clean installation of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.  I would like to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit.  I was told, during the custom Setup, that I could choose which bit to install.

    Hello

With Vista, you do not boot from an external drive to install it.

It is an option in Windows 7.

And they told you to contact Microsoft for support.

Microsoft does not provide support for OEM installations.

In Vista, 32 bit and 64 bit come on different DVDs.

    See you soon.

  • Try to install Windows Vista. When the system starts, I get a black screen with no message and no prompt.

before starting up the plant, black screen

A friend gave me the laptop since they bought a new.  I tried to do a clean install of Windows Vista on a laptop Gateway P6831 FX.  After changing the boot order in the bios settings, the dvd starts to spin.  The only thing that appears on the screen is a screen black/Bank.  I'm never invited with the message 'Press any key to start the installation' to start copying the files for vista.

The Bios recognizes the hard drive (Sata).  I don't know what to do at this point.  Help, please.

I fixed it.  I looked at a few other responses in this forum and used the SATA drivers during the installation of Windows XP.  After that, I've upgraded to Vista.

Hello! IAM using windows vista. Lately, I just figured that the computer has the virus iam so think upgrade to windows7 and I want to remove vista first. Is it possible to remove vista without starting? Sombody help please! Thank you!

    Hello

    1. you must have an operating system to be upgraded; in your case vista

    You cannot delete vista

    2. an upgrade is performed from an operating system of windows in your vista case, unless microsoft advises otherwise; does not apply in your case

solve your problem of malware or clean reinstall vista 1st - then upgrade

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
