The beta includes the fix ntp?

By the genius, the NTP fix will be included in the next official release.

  • R7000: corrective firmware. Why it takes so long?

    Hello

I was wondering why oh why, after such a buggy firmware, it takes Netgear so long for something that would come out * closing * to a stable firmware patch? So many users are angry, I know that it is better not to release something buggy than real, but come on!

Commercialy, it's really bad for the image of Netgear!

    What think you of all?

    Hi LeKeiser,

There is a new firmware for R7000.

  • R7000 new Firmware 1.0.6.28 released

    New features:

    • Arlo camera supports. Set up the R7000 as Arlo base station and connect a camera Arlo to the R7000 without needing an additional base station...

    Bug fixes:

    • Resolves the problem in which 1237 port cannot be used in port forwarding.
    • Resolves the issue in which the binary file Kwlit cannot be downloaded in some cases.
    • Resolves the issue in which the MTU is not restored when IPv6 is disabled.

If you go back in the version number, you may still have them (it's beta recalled the older one). However, there is NO guarantee that they will work. In cases like this, it should RESET the router and then manually re-apply your adjustment for proper operation.

If you move to the top of and former official release, as V1.0.4 or more you do not need to reset the router but it is advisable. In this case I give it a try, have problems, reset and re - enter is the first thing to try. DO NOT load the settings saved for any other version in a new. Seems to be a problem these days.

  • Why isn't R7000 Beta FW 1.0.5.60 (new beta version) on the NG servers?

The new beta version of R700 is on Google Drive. Why?

Who put it there and it is SAFE? The display, I guess ElaineM, the facilitator did but then again, why not on the 'normal NG site '?

@IrvSp It is safe to download. In any case, it's now been changed.

I would like to know if there is a problem in downloading.

  • Cookie of misfortune for AC1900 R7000 with firmware v1.4.4.30

The level of firmware is vulnerable to the Nick of Fortune Cookie? If so, is there a newer version of the firmware that resolves the issue?

I think it's pretty standard for companies to be setback of vulnerability reports from third party researchers, but that is not to say that they do not their own internal tests as well.

However, Netgear do not use RomPager and are not 'on the list' as control point are concerned.

I would keep as remote management is "off" more safe.

  • R7000 firmware 1.0.5.60: Arlo support?

    Hello

Looks like a new Beta firmware is released for R7000. Does it come with the support of Arlo or this feature has been removed?

    Thank you

    Hi @linxeye182

Characteristic Arlo is not yet integrated on this beta as our engineers would focus more on the stability of the firmware before add you it.

    Thank you!

  • Firmware r7000

    Hello

Is the latest firmware for R7000 V1.0.6.40_1.1.90?

    SAL

No, that all the original beta version was fired because of stability issues. A new set of beta have been released with a lower number and no assumption of Arlo.

The most recent is https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-Beta-FW-1-0-5-62/td-p/1078114 and if you apply it, since you have a later version, you must RESET the router after application and again all the settings manually.

  • R7000 USB ports not working not properly

I decided to use the compact USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 flash drives to my account on my Netgear R7000 ReadyCLOUD. Here is the result of my installation:

-USB 2.0 drive works in the two USB ports
-USB 3.0 drive works in only a USB 2.0 port
-Two flash drives work simultaneously only if installed in the port in front of his native configuration.

As a result, I have a USB 2.0 flash drive into a USB 3.0 port and vice versa. It is functional but not optimal. Flash drives that I use are:

    -SanDisk Cruzer made CZ33 64GB USB 2.0 Low-profile Flash Drive - SDCZ33 - 064G - B35

    -SanDisk Ultra Fit 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive (SDCZ43 - 128G - G46)

Is this a known issue? If so, is it repairable so I can get the best use of my devices? Thank you very much!

The beta firmware fixes the problem. Thank you very much!

  • R7000 reset questions

Long story but we are... This morning I wanted to test the latest beta firmware on my R7000. I unplugged all connect my Wired except the one that I would use to communcate with the router. then I have connected and click on the button "reset to factory settings". After a reboot, I was not able to connect to the router to "192.168.1.1" or "'www.routerlogin.com". " I'll double check my IP address (192.168.1.2 fine) even to restart my computer to find the same problem. The computer says it connected but I could not the internet or the router. Then I grabbed my phone and have a WIFI fast scan. I see wireless routers by default (channel 1) and my unique network 2.4 comments listed (Channel 6). Huh? Why my guest network would fall after a reset? If I connect to WIFI via my phone and Netgear engineering applying to go on the router. According to the app my guest network is disabled, so I turn it on and do a scan. Now, I have 4 WIFI networks showing... by default the SSID for 2.4 g, 5 g, 2.4 guest (channel 1) and my 2.4 uniqe comments SSID it shows still (Channel 6). If I connect to this... I can still use the Netgear engineering soft but no internet. OK that's nuts so I have a 30-30-30 of preforms reset... The only one that has changed is now my wired computer can connect to the internet but still cannot connect to the router.

IM out of ideas on what to do next the only ones I can get invole with a hammer.

    Yes everything works fine now.

    Hi all

I suggest you contact support since the firmware available that supports for R7000 Arlo is a beta firmware.

  • very slow 5 GHz with router R7000

    Hello

I use the R7000 router at my house for some time. Since the beginning of the speed on the 5 GHz band has been very slow. First I thougt it might be a problem with my Iphone, but now I see that Iphone, Ipad and my laptop have severe speed restrictions when you use the 5 g network. With the 2.4, I get download aof 8Mbit, with 5 g speeds no thant more than 1 Mhz.

Any suggestions? I always used the current firmware, but sees no difference. There is not other 5 GHz networks in the House (I've already checked).

    Thank you

    Christine

Others have had problems with channels 5 GHz with the version of the firmware you have, they seem to have luck in fact revert to the previous version, 1.0.4.28. You can get it here downloadcenter.netgear.com/en/product/R7000

A beta firmware is available, you can find the info here https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-firmware-v1-0-5-44-limited-release/m-p...

  • SOLVED: Slow wireless internet passthrough after firmware update

If I first bought a Nighthawk in July 2014 and it was great for a while. Then in the notice happened a few months my streaming services are jumping and more than usual buffering (which was almost never with the Nighthawk).

I have a connection of 110Mbps (Comcast and through a SB6141 modem), but all of a sudden was only getting 10 Mbps (or less) passthrough on 5 G wireless band (at the beginning of the speed test would sometimes up to 50 Mbit/s, but on a few seconds would fall to nothing..)

Cable speeds were very good. Always 110Mbps +. Tried several different channels and factory reset the router, wireless speed was still slow. Connected to the Netgear website and submitted a support ticket within 2 hours they sent me with an RMA number and the next day a new unit has been FedEx would be for me. Support rep Tech says it's a problem of material known in some units... I was super impressed with the customer service, it was seriously a no replacement of hassles that took every 15 minutes of my time.

EXCEPT when I got the replacement router in the next few days, he had the SAME PROBLEM. As soon as the new router is on and I'm connected, I've upgraded to the latest version of the firmware, done a factory reset and down Speedtest. And I had the same problem: speed internet passthrough on all my wireless devices has been terrible. Less than 10 Mbps when I have a connection 110 + Mbps. (Wired speeds were great, it was not a problem of modem or provider).

Again contacted support and they asked me to download the latest firmware on laptop and upgrade the router manually, do a factory reset before and after the upgrade. They also told me to try to disable WMM (made no difference speed passthrough, but lower my laptop connection between 433Mbps to 54Mbps speed!).

I tried this... still slow passthough wireless speed.

The only thing that has changed since I first got a Nighthawk in July 2014 (and I've run speedtests then and had a speed 110 wireless + Mbit/s at the time), is that the firmware has updated several times... makes me think...

I downloaded the Netgear support the past 5 versions of the firmware for the Nighthawk. http://downloadcenter.netgear.com/en/product/R7000#sear...

I then manually downgraded the Nighthawk to each previous version (do a factory reset before and after each installation) and ran Speedtest every time. Once I have got down to the R7000 Version - V1.0.3.24_1.1.20 (released 12/02/14) and ran a Speedtest, the PROBLEM has BEEN RESOLVED. Speed wireless devices (laptop, HTC a M7 and iPad Air 2) were all back up to 110Mbps or more!

Hope this experience helps someone else... If your are affected by the passthrough slow internet speeds and it is not your connection speed (i.e. radio parasites) that is the question, there seems to be a serious problem with the latest latest versions of couple... Try downgrading to the R7000 firmware version - V1.0.3.24_1.1.20

UPDATE: Yes, I actually tested the speed with several different devices (a laptop HP HTC a M7 and Nexus 9) each on 5G band, all compatible with the latest updates ac. I also used a few test sites of different speed (speedtest.net, comcast speedtest, cnet speed test), not had the same result all devices and hosts.

However, I actually got in touch with Netgear L2 support for the last month... beta test a few different versions of the firmware of the Nighthawk and even spend more than an hour on the phone one night with a nice guy who told me he was on an island in Southeast Asia, part of the Philippines... This is where Netgear technical support is to halfway between China where they build them and Taiwan where engineers are. After trying all tweak he could think for an hour and not get better speeds wireless, he finally dropped out and wished me a Merry Christmas lol. Not one of these beta firmware made a bit of difference, and I hate the hours that they made me screwing around with them!

    BUT today, they released vR7000 - V1.0.4.14_1.1.50 http://support.netgear.com/product/r7000

And to my surprise it actually worked! Not only my high speed wireless is returned (120 + Mbps)

    http://www.Speedtest.NET/my-result/4078979293 (laptop)
    http://www.Speedtest.NET/my-result/a/1131321713 (nexus 9)
    http://www.Speedtest.NET/my-result/a/1131332778 (htc a m7)

but also my Seagate SRD0SD0 previously incompatible (3 TB) USB 3.0 external hard drive works now, too. What a bonus! The reason I bought the Nighthawk was to use as Server DLNA and the monster external HD I picked up 6 months ago only was on the long list of those incompatible with this capricious router.

But now everything works (at least for now).

P.S. Maybe it's in my head, but I swear to you that since the last firmware update when running speedtest now or file transfer (while heavy streaming) I can hear the router doing a greater slope electric buzzing/hissing noise is a little disconcerting... I'm not sure my brain fried by overclocked wifi will be worth a high speed in the end...: eek:
