Re: ravmon.exe Trojan on Satallite L40 - t17

Hello

Just got my laptop Satellite L40 - t17.
After opening to him and everything, I discovered that my antivirus AVG (use instead of Norton which came with the laptop) locates a Trojan horse on the file ravmon.exe
Since nothing else was installed (and the computer has been sealed and all), and the AVG site came.

What can I do now?
Thank you
Doron.

Hello

It is really hard to believe that there are some dangerous viruses. I have a month Satellite Pro U400 and I am happy to say that I n t have such problems.
What you can do now is to make new installation of OS using recovery DVDs. You have a?

After 15 minutes, the operating system will be installed. Start the laptop computer scan the HARD drive and let me know what happens.

BUT the power button is on the light and the charger says its load light cause there a light on it.
So I guess it was on, but I don't see anything about it. So I tried to lose the batteries and I saw these images below.

There something bold white figure on the sucket of battery and on the fixation of this part in the laptop.
(I know really what it is.) BUT he is in charge! So maybe the problem is the monitor or LCD screen of this one.

So I tried external do stuff with my office still nothing appears on my desktop then I read other forums it is said that the fan must be running. etc etc. UH it's NOT I can feel the machine does not work because it does not heat and I don't hear the fan.

I hope you can help me with this guys! I don't want to go to repair shops and they tell me what is the problem and make money out of me.

I'm afraid that your laptop developed a serious hardware problem, but I don't think that someone here would be able to tell what is the problem exactly without checking the phone... you know...

I recommend you to visit some Center of computer engineers and check hardware... I mean guys might tell you what part is affected and you want to obtain the estimate of the costs.

    Hello

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be harder to detect as
    the cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

The methods below are for Windows 7 - Vista is very similar - for XP using RUN instead of
    Start - Search,.

It can be made repeatedly in Mode safe - F8 tap that you start, however, you must also run
the regular windows when you can.

TDSSKiller.exe. - Download the desktop - so go ahead and right-click on it - RUN AS ADMIN
It will display all the infections in the report after you run - if it will not run changed the name of

check with the other methods below.

Is conime.exe Trojan horse?  or what it shows in the process because I have connected to my Vista PC from a Mac via smb?  I have connected to my Vista PC thanks to the Finder of my Mac 'Connect to server' option on my wireless LAN.  I did some research on the web and some claim that conime.exe is a Trojan and others that it is a Windows system file. If it is a Windows system file, which windows uses it to?

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

    Hello
    Is your computer slow?

Conime.exe is a part of the Microsoft Windows Operating System and is essential for a safe and secure your computer operation. conime.exe is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. Conime.exe is a system process it should not be stopped. The process is required for Windows works properly.
The system has sometimes devotes more resources to a specific task by generating multiple instances of a single process. However, this can also be a symptom of a virus or Trojan infection. Make sure you always use up-to-date antivirus software and run a full scan.
Follow the suggestions and see if it helps.

    Method 1
First of all, I suggest you to run a full scan virus on your computer.

I suspect that you have an infection on the system.

What are the complete and exact error messages that you receive?

You can run the Microsoft Safety Scanner as well as to check for a virus.

    Hello

the laptop with 1 GB and bought another sodimm with another 1 GB, the two PC5300.
After installing, CPU - Z shows that they work, but at 533 and 667 not, but dual channel.

I've read here, on another template, as the cpu/bios support only 667 up to 1.5 GB and 2 GB 533.
    Is this true?
Why he tell nowhere (not that I've seen)?
No chance that a newer bios will solve this (I installed the last 1, currently on the site)?
If I replace the new 1 GB with 512 MB, it will always be in dual channel?

Cause it's a waste of money, and the only performance gain (according to the vista performance test), is for graphics and not the memory, which remained the same.
    Thanks for your help,

  • Satellite L40 - 18Y: corrupt system files - how to use the recovery partition

    Greetings,

One of my friends bought the Bulgarian electronic Toshiba Satellite L40 - 18Y (PSL48E) from a major retailer and insists on the fact that it came without any CD, but the first time he installed Vista.

After that some of his other friends have uninstalled Vista and XP for unknown reasons (he says that some drivers and patches were necessary to make XP work properly, I think he might have something on LBA48 and SP1).

In any case, installing XP died, and the disk share is the file system is damaged.
After I removed it with gparted I have two disk actions now.
1st row in the table to partition: ntfs share labeled WinRE (no hidden bootable)
(He has a stash of file RavMon.exe and autorun.inf which implies that damage to the installation of XP are perhaps caused by a virus)
Second row in the partition table: empty (installation of XP was)

Third row in the table to partition: ntfs share with data

The problem is that the first partition unbootable and act like partition recovery, even when I toggle the boot flag.

It is all recovery partition and how I should go?
I read in some messages if you press '0' when the computer starts the Bios it will start automatically, but it did not work.

A manual which was available for download for this model on Toshiba Support site the key has been specified as F12. It didn't work either.

I'll be very grateful for directions, solutions or ideas.

    Hello

There is perhaps a little change to reinstall Vista with the HDD recovery procedure.
Please check if it would work.
-Turn on the laptop and press F8
-Check if there is an option called fix my computer
-If so, select it, and then choose the last option called Toshiba recovery.

But to be honest I don t see the chances it would work because you have already removed the Vista from the HARD drive.

You must have read the user manual before deleting the Vista.
The manual (Chapter 3), said that if the recovery DVDs has not been handed over with Notepad then you create the DVD using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator (is was also preinstalled). The user manual also describes the above HARD drive recovery procedure.

However, the recovery DVDs can also be ordered here:

  • wowexec.exe

I tried to help a friend with a computer slow (XP, SP3).  I pulled up the Task Manager and noticed a curiosity: a process that is called 'wowexec.exe' (note the space at the beginning) and apparently with no memory has been noted.  I killed him but he wouldn't stay dead - he resurrected several times a few seconds - self finally remained dead but never for more than 20 minutes.  Although it is _not_ run the computer operates significantly faster...

What is - this and how to deal with it?

    Hello Carrington0212,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Forum.

The SMSS.exe file is always located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. This is the Microsoft Windows Session Manager Subsystem.  If you find that there is an smss.exe located in another folder, then it is probably malware (viruses, spyware, Trojan or worm). Malware programs try to look like legitimate computer processes and the smss.exe trojan is one of them.  Go to start search and type smss.exe and look at the file that appears. If it is in the Windows\System32 folder, then it is not a virus or spyware.

You see problems with your computer or is the only error in the system event log?  When you encounter this error? Have you ever had this error before or is this the first time? What programs are open and running when you see this error? He appears in safe mode?

Please provide more information and we will try to help you.

    Piotr,

If it's convenient, the absolutely safest approach is to delete the profile folder 4dhjzo2v.default while integer that TB is arrested.

If the person is to use IMAP or POP with an option to leave emails on the server, there should not be a loss of emails (except in local folders).

If there are important e-mails in local folders, and they are not infected, they could be exported to support storage and then imported into the new profile. There is an add-on to tuberculosis, which allows the import and export of emails in different formats.

You will find instructions on how to download and install it in http://barryduggan.info/exportMail.php

I guess the puppy. Optional.Datamngr.A and these similar elements are too blame for my problem, after that I said with a complete analysis leading to these objects:
    HKCR\CLSID\ {3c471948-f874-49f5-b338-4f214a2ee0b1} (PUP. Optional.Conduit)

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\BingDesktop\BingCore\temp\tmpB628.exe (Trojan.Agent.ED)
After that I also scanned my PC with superantispyware, he finds 2 other types of Trojans and some infected cookies. I want to do a full scan with ALL antivirus software that I use to be sure of all the single infected files will be found and destroyed in safe mode. So far, my PC shows no more problems. I recommend to all if they encounter this same problem to do the same. If your PC can run safely later. )
  • Trojan found in Downloads/setup.exe. Help!

Hello. I run a MacBook 2013 end Pro 13 "retina screen. Recently when parsing with Bitdefender and Protection of the Panda, my computer found a file in my downloads/setup.exe called 'Dropped.Trojan.Generic.13072660 '. Should I be concerned? Do I need to take action? Thank you!

It's a false alarm or Windows malware. No one can hurt you, and you don't need to do anything. Just do not pass to someone else.

You have no need to do is get rid of the software "anti-virus" (AV). All these software are worse than useless.

Malware Windows is so widespread that you must assume that it is in each attachment until proof to the contrary. If you are just curious to know if a file is recognized as malware by the AV engines, you can download it from the "VirusTotal" site, where it will be tested against most of them. I do not recommend doing this with a file that may contain private information. A negative result is no evidence of anything either, because the AV software is not reliable.

Never leave any AV software remove or 'quarantine' send messages or attachments. This will damage the messaging database.
