Re: Satellite A215-S5818 - keyboard key arrow in stuck
I have an A215-S5818.
The computer acted as if the up arrow on the keyboard has been blocked, even if it wasn't. Finally, I disconnected the keyboard from the motherboard and reset the computer. Even with no attached keyboard it is still somehow a "arrow" signal processing several times.
It practically made my computer unusable until I downloaded a program that would allow me to disable specific keys, so I disabled just to the arrow up and together that keyboards repeat rate low to minimize the CPU usage. However, it is a windows application and of course is not running during startup. This quick repeated cause high sharp beep speakers (I finally unplugged them) and slows down the startup process enormously.
I got several bits of advice.
"Update/verify/change your bios": I can't because the with the arrow stuck up, I can't point out something other than the first option in each menu.
"reformat": that did not work either
"reinstall your ram": that did not work either
'replace the battery CMOS': that no longer works
"Try an external keyboard": the only way that might help is if I could support faster then the computer "repeat rate".
So, with all that said. My guess is hardware problems with the keyboard, or motherboard. But I'd like some opinions more...
It happens in the BACK as well? Boot from a floppy disk BACK and test it at the command prompt, or in the BIOS.
An external mouse/keyboard driver is perhaps the origin of the problem.
Otherwise if its doing when the keyboard is detached, the card mother may need replacement.

Satellite A215-S5818 - feature SD reader/Bridge Media adapter
Well I need help with my SDCard reader/bridge media adapter that s built into my laptop.
It seems that when I put an SD card, nothing seems to happen and I put t know if it s works or not.Currently, I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5818. I tried to see if she needed an update but it was aware, I don't know what could be the problem if someone can help.
Thank you!!!
Hello
> It seems that when I put an SD card, nothing seems to happen and I don t know if it s works or not.
The SD card must be visible in my computer after that it was inserted into the slot of the card reader.
If you do not see the SD card then that would mean that it is not recognized correctly.First you should check if you use compatible cards. Not all sizes are supported! Have you checked the user manual? Do this!
The A215 is unknown to me but I know (similar to A215) notebook A210 series supports 8MB - 2GB SD cards.
Large SD cards are not supported.Check it out!

Satellite M50 Pro: Problem with keyboard - key Crtl gets stuck
Jin
have a little problem with the keyboard, and I was wondering if there was something I could do...
the problem is sometimes when I am typing the keyboard, it will get stuck at random with the Ctrl key is pressed. I did no successful diagnosis as to what could be the cause of this, so I hope I can get it fixed here.
Thanks in advance,

Hello
I can give you some suggestions. I think the key Ctrl mechanism fits because of the debris under the key cutting.
It of possible to remove the cup from the keyboard. Check the place around the key and try to clean it up. -
Satellite U300-152: keyboard keys are mixed up
I have a newly purchased U300-152 with OS vista home premium 32-bit already installed by the distributor in Saudi Arabia.
I observe some of the keys on the keyboard are mixed to the top for example shift + 2 should give us @ and shift +' (apostrophe) should give us "(quote), but the reverse is Maj sense + 2 gives me" (quote) and shift +' (apostrophe) gives me @Any solution for that to be corrected.
What should I do?Thanks in advance.
Hey Buddy
Don t worry, it s not a serious problem ;)
It seems that you keyboard language settings don't match the keyboard layout. You can solve this problem very easily by changing the language settings in the control panel-> Regional Options control & language-> language-> details tab
I guess that you keyboard language settings are set to English * (UK) * '. '.
But maybe you should choose an English * (US) * to assign the right signals to the single keyboard keys.Check it out ;)

Replacement of "scissors" Satellite Pro 6000 keyboard keys
Hello!
Please, is it the instructions available for replacement keys on 6000 SP?
I have the Windows key, on the top line of the 2nd from the right button, totally broken/lost, even the "scissors"...
I have another keyboard with a fine touch Windows and got the hood detach easily, but scissors, is a hard nut, I was several times was trying to find a way to loosen it, but so far do not succeed at this, except maybe somehow break it and to do so unusable...
Is there a way to loosen and had then re-installed on another keyboard?
Scissors other larger keys seems to be easier to loosen, but scissors these small upper row keys do not...
Best regards
Pete v.
Hello Pete
Sorry, but I must ask you something: just damaged plastic or there is no key functionality at all?
To remove the plastic is very simply. Just the move from bottom to top. The new plastic cover should be just properly placed and pushed down. All that s.
The principle for all keys of the keyboard is the same. I really don't understand what is the problem in your case. Two keyboards are exactly the same (for the same model of laptop)?

Satellite L360D - some keyboard keys malfunction
Laptop Toshiba Satellite L360D. Space bar does not function & right hand shift tab
Any point of view?Hello
Yes, I have an idea
In my opinion the internal keyboard needs to be replaced.
There is no other solution for this because the simple buttons are not replaceable. In the meantime, you can use an external USB keyboard. It should work fine and could be a good option until the internal keyboard has been replaced.

Satellite L670 - missess keyboard keys
Hey all, had this problem since the new - November 2010.
I've seen several threads on the same issue, but above all, all have been solved by an update of the BIOS.
I did this update of the BIOS when it came out and everything was fixed.
So long that I have been using an external keyboard, but I decided to unplug the unit yesterday and once more the problem occurred.
It took about 3-4 minutes to type while it should take me less than a minute. Here is an example of a sentence:
"I have a keyboard problem which is irritating a me lot"-FIXED
"I am avea keyoard isue wich is irriatin me a lot"-RAWThank you
RaviHello
You have installed an additional driver for this keyboard? If so, I would recommend removing this driver. For external mouse and you n t need special keyboard drivers, the internal Windows driver is enough and can be used for this.
In addition, enter the BIOS setup and load the defaults (F9 key). Then save settings and exit the BIOS.
It works again?

Some keyboard keys do not work on my Satellite L300D
Hello
I have the Satellite L300D-242, keyboard key 6-7-R-H-B left and right arrow not working not not on Win 7 32 Bit OS. his job very well if I try the keyboard external usb.
My question is if I buy the new keyboard problem will be fix or it's something to do with the motherboard?Thank you
Hello
If everything is ok with the external keyboard, it seems that a few keys on the internal keyboard are faulty. I agree with Timox and swap the keyboard internal which is very cheap and can be done in 10 minutes.
Do you know where you can order spare parts?
You can do this if you contact an authorized service provider. You can find a list of the guys here:

Satellite Pro L650-1QG: incompatibility of keyboard key
Dear audience,
I am not satisfied by the keyboard of my Satellite Pro L650 1QG I5-4 settings.
Before I had a Satellite S5200-701 that has worked well for almost 8 years after, I replaced almost any critical component to half-life.Finally the controller was unserviceable and last week the laptop worked no more after this problem has resided for six months but the laptop did not fail until last week prompted me to install and use my new laptop.
I felt very comfortable with my old laptop and its parameters.
However, the new laptop has an inadequate setting of its keyboards.
"ALT GR" is replaced with my old keyboard and hold the 'CTRL' key has exactly the same position as on my old laptop so that it is possible that I write a 'CTRL-Q' when I tried to type 'ALT GR Q' or '@' which happens quite often and stops the program (EXIT).How can this problem be solved. Is it possible to get a fix? Either by replacing the CTRL key with a deaf person, or changing the configuration of the computer?
I'm not sure I can adapt to this problem from any 'normal' keyboard is different and similar to my old laptop and work with a USB keyboard is no solution!
Thanks, Headlost

I think that there are not many options for you you used a keyboard that has supported a different layout, L650-1QG supports the 102 (Euro) A4 + 10key flat standard black keyboard that can be different from the old Satellite 5200-701 keyboard.
Don't know if you can replace the keyboards because of the measures so maybe one and the only option for you is the use of the external USB keyboard that would be similar to Satellite 5200 701 keyboard

After replacemant keyboard keys do not work on Satellite Pro L100
Hello
I have problems replacing my laptop to a Toshiba Satellite Pro L100 keyboard. I adapted my laptop with a keyboard replacement brand new, it is detected by windows. But when I press any button, nothing happens.
It was the same problem with my previous keyboard. There is nothing broken inside the laptop or the clip that I can tell. But I can't understand why it does not work since I installed the keyboard properly.
My computer detects only external keyboards (when I connect it to a USB keyboard). I checked the BIOS and the keyboard is turned on.
Did someone knows what I could or should do? Please help me, thank you.
Hello
Sorry, he says, but it's not easy to say why the keyboard does not especially the dysfunction of the keyboard is related to the hardware problem laptop
But I wonder why you did not contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba?
To my knowledge, the satellite Pro L100 is not an oldie and security must be still valid and each replacement repair or part of the laptop should be done for free.
Then why have you tried to replace the keyboard by yourself?I recommend to ask the guy to service to help immediately

Small Windows XP need help for Satellite A215-S5849
Hello
I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A215-S5849, which came with Windows Vista home premium.
Some time previously, I installed Windows XP SP3 and I also installed some drivers I found here:[Page where I downloaded the drivers, click on: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp]
I had to choose model A210 coz there is no available Satellite A215 (but its probably comparable, coz on my Vista CD provided with the drivers, he also says its for A210/A215)
Main problem is... is there a simple way to get all the drivers XP for A215... [It is another page, where I have tried exactly my laptop and WIN XP drivers, its many for vista. Select this option to filter for XP... not many riders to tell me id, click on | http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modItemList.jsp?MOID=1998646&RPN=PSAFGU&CT=D L&BV_SessionID=@@@1886836112.1220191695@@@&BV_En gineID = cccfadefdejeidmcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0]
I have this small problem I'd like to solve:
1) Fn + F5 does not work... I have 2 monitors and I can't use the Fn + F5 keyboard shortcut... I have downloaded the driver... and other Fn keys work... but not F5... I searched the forum and the web and found something that I should have a "devices utility display change of ' installed, but this is only available for notebooks (Ive looked, but I found only old driver for this). How can I make Fn + F5 works under Win XP on A215?
(2) also in my device manager I have three "Base system device" undentified "other instruments". Is this ok... or do I have some drivers or something?
(3) and I have a question about this utility: [link here, click on: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?soid=1903653&moid=1998646&rpn= PSAFGU&BV_SessionID=@@@0768822790.1220188011@@@& BV_EngineID = cccfadefdejeidmcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0 & ct = D L & all_docs = false]
This would install all the drivers available for the laptop? If not, what will do, perhaps to update?(4) and also... multimedia keys... is possible to select play/pause, stop, next, prev buttons to program other than windows media player. ID like to run these keys on winamp, Ive downloaded a plugin for winamp, and it worked on Vista, but not on XP... in the control of Toshiba utility I can only sellect programs start with the CD/DVD and Internet buttons. Ive read sound is not possible, but it worked when I installed the plugin on Vista.
Please read this and help.
-----------------------Just in case I added the drivers I installed below. Do not really need to read what I think, but I add...
The discs that I have installed:
Hotkey Utility, Toshiba
Common module, Toshiba
Controls, Toshiba
Display driver, ATI
Toshiba Power Saver
His driver, Realtek Semiconductor Corporation
Utilities SD
Wireless Lan Client Manager, Atheros
Touch Pad Driver, Synaptics
CPU driver, AMD
Atheros wlan driver
Software of the camera, ChiconyAvailable pilots were fairly simple, coz there are an only one available for LAN, audio, Hotkeys etc. I so did not have much choice. I also checked for the material they were made and manufacturer who they are (I found the good... for example, the realtek drivers for my device realtek audio...)
> I had to choose model A210 coz there is no available Satellite A215 (but its probably similar coz my CD with the drivers on Vista it says also it s for A210/A215)
The A215 is a series of portable US and typically you use the Toshiba driver page us in order to get all of the compatible XP drivers.
There is no guarantee that drivers Toshiba XP from the European page driver Toshiba work fine on the laptop Toshiba us.With regard to the point;
(1) you are right. Change the display control device utility the FN + F5 key combination and the Hotkey Utility are also the FN + F5 combination work.
This tool is available for some A210 series such as the PSAFGE series. But it does not work on all A210/A215 series.(2) this could be a card reader. Check if it s already installed. But note; After installing XP you will always have yellow exclamation points in Device Manager because some hardware rely only on Windows Vista. There is therefore no Windows XP driver.
(3) in my opinion the Toshiba Software updates for Windows Vista/XP reminds on a few new updates of software available that have been published on the U.S. from Toshiba page.
(4) I have the same problem and I think there is no way to change this in XP.
Toshiba utility for XP controls is simply different that the version for Vista and in my eyes there is nothing to do.Concerning

Crazy Vista on Satellite A215-S7437 - how to restore?
Hello
I really need help.
I have a Satellite A215-S7437 and windows Vista is crazy.
I want to restore the laptop with the recovery partition.I have read haved if I want to start with this hidden restore partition that I need to press the 0 button zero when I turn it on.
But this doesn't work in some way.IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO BOOT FROM THIS PARTITION...?
need help, help me.
Hello
You could try to repair your Vista using the own Vistas called Startup Repair options
Press and hold the F8 key as your Satellite restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. This is important.
In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the Repair your computer option, and then press ENTER. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next. The System Recovery Options menu should appear. You must click on startup repair.
Startup Repair offers various options and there you make a choice to solve the problem.Good luck

I messed up on Satellite A215 BIOS
Laptop Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747
wanted to put update the BIOS to the black screen problem intermittent, had the opportunity to update the BIOS of Yes hell which seems easy for me way to update Windows, machine stops (as it was supposed to) and when I tried to power it on again I get Toshiba logo with "Press F2 for Setup or F12 for boot devices" - that's all , no key on the keyboard does not cause a response from what I can find I might have to replace the card mother darn or buy a new computer.
Unfortunately the Akuma is just about that. When the BIOS chip is damaged there is nothing you can do about it. Please contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer.
