Satellite A215-S5818 - feature SD reader/Bridge Media adapter

Well I need help with my SDCard reader/bridge media adapter that s built into my laptop.
It seems that when I put an SD card, nothing seems to happen and I put t know if it s works or not.

Currently, I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5818. I tried to see if she needed an update but it was aware, I don't know what could be the problem if someone can help.

Thank you!!!

Hello

> It seems that when I put an SD card, nothing seems to happen and I don t know if it s works or not.

The SD card must be visible in my computer after that it was inserted into the slot of the card reader.
If you do not see the SD card then that would mean that it is not recognized correctly.

First you should check if you use compatible cards. Not all sizes are supported! Have you checked the user manual? Do this!
The A215 is unknown to me but I know (similar to A215) notebook A210 series supports 8MB - 2GB SD cards.
Large SD cards are not supported.

Check it out!

    Hello world

I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757. I recently had a duo memory stuck in the SD card slot and got out. Now when I insert a card into the laptop shows no signs of reading. I don't know if it is damaged or simply not work (but in Device Manager, it says its fine.) If any of you can help with the problem would be great. Thank you for your time.

    Hello

If you have inserted a memory stick duo, but how you removed? A point would be to remove the card reader in the device and reinstall it.

Another chance if you don't have a chance, you must send your machine to a local authorized service partner that should make a hardwarecheckup on your machine. You might find that the nearest using this link:

  • Re: Satellite A215-S5818 - keyboard key arrow in stuck

    I have an A215-S5818.

The computer acted as if the up arrow on the keyboard has been blocked, even if it wasn't. Finally, I disconnected the keyboard from the motherboard and reset the computer. Even with no attached keyboard it is still somehow a "arrow" signal processing several times.

It practically made my computer unusable until I downloaded a program that would allow me to disable specific keys, so I disabled just to the arrow up and together that keyboards repeat rate low to minimize the CPU usage. However, it is a windows application and of course is not running during startup. This quick repeated cause high sharp beep speakers (I finally unplugged them) and slows down the startup process enormously.

I got several bits of advice.

"Update/verify/change your bios": I can't because the with the arrow stuck up, I can't point out something other than the first option in each menu.
"reformat": that did not work either
"reinstall your ram": that did not work either
'replace the battery CMOS': that no longer works
"Try an external keyboard": the only way that might help is if I could support faster then the computer "repeat rate".

So, with all that said. My guess is hardware problems with the keyboard, or motherboard. But I'd like some opinions more...

It happens in the BACK as well? Boot from a floppy disk BACK and test it at the command prompt, or in the BIOS.

An external mouse/keyboard driver is perhaps the origin of the problem.

Otherwise if its doing when the keyboard is detached, the card mother may need replacement.

  • SDHC card in Satellite A200-1SC internal 6-in-1 bridge media adapter

I went on ReadyBoost in Vista using a fairly old only 256 MB SD card in the laptop's built-in card reader. It is kind of speed up the system, so I intend to buy a large high-speed SD-Card to use it for ReadyBoost for Vista in order to get the full value of this feature.

However, SD-card 4 GB (for most) or more than 4 GB (all) are not only SD but SDHC cards.

Officially internal 6-in-1 map Media Bridge of my laptop is specified to deal with 'SD Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card, xD-Picture Card, SD IO. So I was wondering, if the card reader can support SDHC cards as well. If it will not support the SDHC, would invite if at least 4 GB (standard) SD cards are supported.

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hey Buddy,

good news for you, your machine supports SDHC cards up to 4 GB but only 2 GB when using the normal SD cards.

Hope I could help you with my information. :)

See you soon and good weekend

I just bought a Satellite L305-s5939 and forgot to consult it when I bought it.
Before I opened the box, I wanted to understand two things.

First of all, what is a bridge of media card adapter?
He said that this computer has one on the specifications.
This means - it is not built in and I have to put the adapter whenever I want to use?

Second adapter of this type does not allow the use of Speedboost for Vista.
I just assumed that all laptops had standard built in memory card readers, but it read adapter bridge and makes me nervous.

    I thank you,

    Hello

As far as I know, this device is your laptop card reader and therefore you need to download the Flash Media driver from the Toshiba page.

I checked the page but it s is only available for the 32-bit Vista or XP :(

You can try a driver for another model laptop but there is no guarantee that it will work. Just check out ;)

  • Small Windows XP need help for Satellite A215-S5849

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A215-S5849, which came with Windows Vista home premium.
Some time previously, I installed Windows XP SP3 and I also installed some drivers I found here:

[Page where I downloaded the drivers, click on: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp]

I had to choose model A210 coz there is no available Satellite A215 (but its probably comparable, coz on my Vista CD provided with the drivers, he also says its for A210/A215)

Main problem is... is there a simple way to get all the drivers XP for A215... [It is another page, where I have tried exactly my laptop and WIN XP drivers, its many for vista. Select this option to filter for XP... not many riders to tell me id, click on | http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modItemList.jsp?MOID=1998646&RPN=PSAFGU&CT=D L&BV_SessionID=@@@1886836112.1220191695@@@&BV_En gineID = cccfadefdejeidmcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0]

I have this small problem I'd like to solve:

    1) Fn + F5 does not work... I have 2 monitors and I can't use the Fn + F5 keyboard shortcut... I have downloaded the driver... and other Fn keys work... but not F5... I searched the forum and the web and found something that I should have a "devices utility display change of ' installed, but this is only available for notebooks (Ive looked, but I found only old driver for this). How can I make Fn + F5 works under Win XP on A215?

    (2) also in my device manager I have three "Base system device" undentified "other instruments". Is this ok... or do I have some drivers or something?

    (3) and I have a question about this utility: [link here, click on: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?soid=1903653&moid=1998646&rpn= PSAFGU&BV_SessionID=@@@0768822790.1220188011@@@& BV_EngineID = cccfadefdejeidmcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0 & ct = D L & all_docs = false]
This would install all the drivers available for the laptop? If not, what will do, perhaps to update?

    (4) and also... multimedia keys... is possible to select play/pause, stop, next, prev buttons to program other than windows media player. ID like to run these keys on winamp, Ive downloaded a plugin for winamp, and it worked on Vista, but not on XP... in the control of Toshiba utility I can only sellect programs start with the CD/DVD and Internet buttons. Ive read sound is not possible, but it worked when I installed the plugin on Vista.

    Please read this and help.
    -----------------------

Just in case I added the drivers I installed below. Do not really need to read what I think, but I add...

The discs that I have installed:

    Hotkey Utility, Toshiba
    Common module, Toshiba
    Controls, Toshiba
    Display driver, ATI
    Toshiba Power Saver
    His driver, Realtek Semiconductor Corporation
    Utilities SD
    Wireless Lan Client Manager, Atheros
    Touch Pad Driver, Synaptics
    CPU driver, AMD
    Atheros wlan driver
    Software of the camera, Chicony

Available pilots were fairly simple, coz there are an only one available for LAN, audio, Hotkeys etc. I so did not have much choice. I also checked for the material they were made and manufacturer who they are (I found the good... for example, the realtek drivers for my device realtek audio...)

    > I had to choose model A210 coz there is no available Satellite A215 (but its probably similar coz my CD with the drivers on Vista it says also it s for A210/A215)

The A215 is a series of portable US and typically you use the Toshiba driver page us in order to get all of the compatible XP drivers.
There is no guarantee that drivers Toshiba XP from the European page driver Toshiba work fine on the laptop Toshiba us.

    With regard to the point;

    (1) you are right. Change the display control device utility the FN + F5 key combination and the Hotkey Utility are also the FN + F5 combination work.
This tool is available for some A210 series such as the PSAFGE series. But it does not work on all A210/A215 series.

    (2) this could be a card reader. Check if it s already installed. But note; After installing XP you will always have yellow exclamation points in Device Manager because some hardware rely only on Windows Vista. There is therefore no Windows XP driver.

    (3) in my opinion the Toshiba Software updates for Windows Vista/XP reminds on a few new updates of software available that have been published on the U.S. from Toshiba page.

    (4) I have the same problem and I think there is no way to change this in XP.
Toshiba utility for XP controls is simply different that the version for Vista and in my eyes there is nothing to do.

  • Need driver Bridge Media slot for Equium A100

    Hello!

I have Toshiba Equium A100-147 and have no driver for Bridge Media slot.
I downloaded it from the download from Toshiba site, but it does not work!
    Please help me!

    Hello

What does not work? You are not able to install the driver or the slot not reading cards?

On the page of the Toshiba driver are placed 2-conductor. Be sure you use the right one.
Plug then the good card in the slot and then try to install the driver.

But what do you have on the laptop? Did you install the new OS? If yes then check the instruction install driver from the Toshiba page?
I've installed several times the OS manually on my Satellite and I have always followed the instructions.
It's important document and if you install the drivers manually you need to follow this guideline.

    Hello

The pilot may indeed have a hardware problem and must be replaced.

Check with the support from Toshiba and their forums for updates firmware and known issues.

    ========================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

I just bought a Satellite A215-S4757 a week ago & I tried to divide my hard drive coz, I was only one partion (250 GB) using acronis disk director.

After that I got the blue screen and now I failed to start and I tried all the options to repair my windows or load in SafeMode to no avail coz it crashes just from the window of microsoft corporation.

I tried to reinstall windows vista with the cd but still does not!
    pls someone helo me :(

    Hello

Creator of disc of Acronis does not for me but I know for sure that you can split the capacity of the HARD drive into two partitions with rendering recovery DVDs. Start your laptop with recovery DVDs and check the option to install it.

You must have a mobile US model. I am from Europe and I don't know about you how it works with the recovery media in the United States, but it should be similar to the European and because of that it must be an option to divide the capacity of the HARD disk with two partitions.

Please try again. It should work somehow.
