Re: Satellite A300D - strange keyboard problem

Hello!

I have a problem with my Satellite A300D: when I press on 'y' or '5', I get a "y5" and when I press "n" or "b", I get a "nb".
If I hold down y or 5, it seems y5yyy... and with n and b I get nbnnn...

What you think could be the problem? Keyboard? Or some other hardware controller?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

It is difficult to say why this happens, but in your case I would like to connect an external keyboard and check this. You may notice the same behavior?

If not, I think the case is clear: your keyboard internal doesn t work properly and you need a new. Therefore, you can contact a service provider authorized in your country.

By the way: have you checked the keyboard input language?

Hello guys, I got this really annoying problem that I n know how to fix.

If someone could help me please, I would be very happy.

As you can see the symbols can be see here.

In any case, such problems you should tell us what language OS did you use and what is the standard language for the keyboard. I guess it must be the problem. Check the keyboard settings and set the correct default language.

  • Re: Satellite A300D-13 has: problems starting - starts not or only black screen

Hello, I have a Satellite A300D-13 has and the problem is, when I try to start the laptop for most, he tries to boot from the hard drive or the DVD drive but then he just stops and starts again immediately to do the same. In this case 4 or 5 times. Once it seems that it starts well, but the only thing I see is a black screen. And the keyboard does not work either.

If I try several time with closing by pressing the power button (you know who I mean), I managed it starts normally (but such a situation is always annoying). Moreover, it seems that this happens only when I did use the laptop for a while. So maybe it has something to do with the temperature. But more or less 20 ° C in my room.

In the Bios I have change the boot order of the sources (I can't change it much more)

I am grateful for any kind of help.
Thank you for your cooments in advance

    Hello

The issue could be related to software, but also for the hardware problem.
But first, we have to check if it s a software problem.

You are using the original operating system preinstalled by Toshiba. Is this good?
AFAIK the most recent series of laptop is equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
In this case, the Toshiba Recovery DVD has not been delivered with the laptop but there is an option to create a.
HARD drive recovery option can be used to reinstall and update the operating system.
I would recommend to repair the operating system and reinstall it again by pressing the F8 key. The Advanced Startup menu should appear and then you must choose to repair your computer.

This option will start the recovery procedure and the BONES to relocate again.
Please check if a new facility will improve the situation with Notepad.
In addition, it would be desirable to update the BIOS, if a newer version of the BIOS is available on the European driver Toshibas page.

If this suggestion won't help you then whole notebooks material must be check by a local ASP.

    Hello

I just bought this new Satellite Pro.

I have installed all the drivers and updated the bios to the latest version, but I still have the same problem: when I write, many times my keyboard writes double letters (for example, all ten words written keyboard a letter double, as "keybboard").

I tried also to change the properties of the keypad on the control panel of Windows 8, but nothing has changed.

I called support, but they just told me that I have to bring my laptop in a helpdesk: but I need my new computer to work, and I wouldn't be happy to lose at least 4 weeks!

And, support told me that, if the laptop has no hardware problem, I would have to pay for assistance...
    .
So, this is my first experience and unlucy in the world of Toshiba...
Is there someone who can give me some advice to solve this problem?
It may be a problem running on the new laptops, and someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi guys,.

As far as I know that these similar keyboard problems in the past could be resolved by the BIOS updated.
I found the new BIOS for Satellite Pro C50 - A
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-files2/0/BIOS-20140912105436.zip
    Worth a try

Another question: If someone has done to test a USB external keyboard?
In the case where the external USB keyboard would work correctly, this issue isn't associated with BIOS or keyboard controller but probably his keyboard fault internal.

  • Strange keyboard problem - Portege A100

I have a Portege A100 some three years now.
There is a problem with the keyboard, only the keys 5tgb - a diagonal line.
As soon as the PC is often placed on these keys don't work at all. After a while, if I press hard, especially if I turn on caps lock shift, the key to start work and then more or less work. Sometimes turning the PC and trie still the problem using shift often makes it worse. Sometimes the keys work, but only with a delay. No other keys are affected.
I am confused as to if it's a hardware problem (are these keys connected even if a single connector?) or a strange software problem, perhaps related to the traditional Chinese microsoft input method editor that I recently downloaded.

Any help or advice would be welcome.

    Alan Watson

    Hello

The keys are connected on the map as the rest of the keyboard keys.
There are not connected separately. To me, it looks like a hardware would be malfunctions.
Why? Well, it's not easy to say. Sometimes loses keyboard cable affects the use of the keyboard. But maybe the entire keyboard needs to be replaced.

We must consider this possibility I think you should contact the ASP in your country. If the warranty is valid replacement should be done for free.

  • Satellite C855-10Z - keyboard problems

    Hi all

I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem with my keyboard? Basically, I've had this laptop since June 2012 and had no problems with it until I started using Word is not long (I am currently in night school).

In fact, when you type a report, it is as if the keyboard has developed a mind of its own.
The laptop will be randomly copy and paste the last words I typed again and again until I have to stop it by pressing ESC. It's very annoying trying to do any form of work.

Also when you open PowerPoint, the other day, there was a very quick beep as if a key is held down - even though I was not touching the keyboard.

I also noticed the same thing in Windows Explorer, where the address bar scrolled endlessly down as if a person is required to tab or clicking on it very quickly.

Strangely, this problem does not occur in any browser. I have spilled something on the laptop because I got it and have not encountered this problem before.

I've been looking around online and there seems to be several theories as to what might cause this problem:

The trackpad is too sensitive - I've since disabled the trackpad and bought a wireless mouse. This problem did not correct the problem.

Windows 7 itself is the question - I doubt that happens only in certain places.

Toshiba have oversubscribed some buttons with additional features and it is confusing - I tried to disable the keyboard, using an external keyboard, but it does not work either.

The keyboard itself could in fact be broken - do not know how to check this, so I will try to eliminate all other options first.

I've been trying to sort out these issues myself I really don't want to be without my laptop for any period of time.

My next steps, not to mention that speaking to Toshiba, will be to install a new copy of vanilla Windows and/or the new update of the BIOS flash.

I'm about to contact Toshiba to ask their opinion but saw the forum and thought I would try it that I could have an answer and it could help someone else with the same question.

Sorry for the long post, but the details thought could help identify the problem.

Thanks for any help in advance!

It's new model of laptop, so in my opinion, you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They should check and find solution.
It is good that you want to exchange experiences on the forum, but I think that you should not waste your time and contact Toshiba as soon as possible.

Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

  • Re: Satellite P200 (PSPB6E) - keyboard problem

    Hello

I have a keyboard with Satellite P200, series PSPB6E problem.

Keyboard seems to generate Press Page Down constantly, although nothing has been paid to this subject.
It is even difficult to turn on laptop, because it produced consecutive beeps and prevents the computer from starting.

Sometimes some keyboard characters do not work, and in the second time it works. Sometimes same PgDown works as expected.
Œuvres for additional keyboard, but it also receives PgDown keyboard of the laptop.

Now, I can't insert any sentence in this post, because PgDown will move the cursor down.
Laptop is under warranty. Should I enable it?

I note that no. LIQUID is poured on the keyboard.

On the keyboard of the computer laptop not work keys A, B, N, LEFT SHIFT, INPUT, same brief moments where PgDown keys not dumping. Sometimes even these key works!

    Best regards
    Vladimir Stefanovic

    Great news, buddy! :)

I also have good experience with my ASP. They fixed the laptop as soon as possible and the repair took only a few days. It's also free.

So still I m happy with the service!

  • On Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard problems

    Goodday once again everyone,

Can someone tell me if the built-in on my Satellite A505-S6973 keyboard has a backlight.
I watch a lot of these new laptops and similar to mine, under the keyboard it is white and I don't know if that's how it's supposed to light. If so, can someone tell me.

On the Toshiba U.S. support page I checked the specification for laptop computer and, of course, your laptop doesn t have this backlit keyboard.
Just FYI: all illuminated keyboard have FN + Z option to turn on/off illumination.
With other words symbol small keyboard will be on the Z key.

This option, when the backlit keyboard is in the book is also available in Toshiba HWSetup tool.

  • On the Satellite L650-19W keyboard problems

    Hello

A very strange and annoying problem developed on my laptop about four days ago. First of all, here's my laptop specs:

    Satellite L650 - 19W
    8 GB RAM (DDR3)
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel Core i5 CPU

The problem is that some of the keys also trigger others.
For example, whenever I have reached space I get a 'p' first, followed by a space, exactly the same thing happens when I press 'p '.

Similar results occur with the 'h' and ' 6 ', ' 3' and the '+', the 2 and the ' / ', the 'f' and 4', as well as a few others. The passage of the right hand does not work with all keys and BACKSPACE can not be held down, IE only deletes one character at a time.

I tried to restore to a point in front of what is going on started, as well as the stop, remove the battery and holding down the button start for 60 s, the two nothing helps. I have read similar problems, some people have recommended BIOS update.

I downloaded an update of the BIOS for this computer from Toshiba Web site, but I'm wary to run due to a lot of people say you can ruin your ifp computer you don't know what you are doing, is it true?

Any help would be appreciated, because she makes me crazy! It took half an hour to type this message!

    Hello

I think that there is no other solution than to replace the internal keyboard.
I guess its problem of keyboard internal a simple malfunction what can happen to the keyboards of the domestic.

Have you tried external USB keyboard? Try and test how the unit would be.
I guess it will work properly and the question wouldn t occur in external USB keyboard.

  • On the Satellite U50T-A keyboard problem

    I have a U50T.-a Satellite.
Control device (keyboard) shows the following error message:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I tried to solve this problem, but I don't know what to do.

Message was edited: assignment has been translated

Are you abele to use the USB mouse or the touchpad?

If Yes, then you should be able get the system back to point in time at the beginning.

Restart the computer, go to the area of backup and system restore, then select the save point that has been created in the past.

This restores the system and fix the registry.

I think the keyboard should work after this procedure.

  • Satellite L855 - 12N - keyboard problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings friends,
the problem goes like this: I have a TOSHIBA satellite, L855-12N, Series notebook.

After updrading to win 10, some of my keys (a, n, enter) did not work initially.
If I wait for awhile, they start work later.
I find that I continue to press a button, (for example the button "a") for a long time, I see that he started to answer, then stop again and then answer - stop, until finally it works OK.
I tried to update the drivers, uninstall and then reinstall, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone know what's going on, or have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    You are 100% it's a matter of Windows 10?
Looks more like a hardware problem, keyboard should replace.

Go into the BIOS and test the keyboard in there.
If it goes into the BIOS and then replace the keyboard.

If it's a software problem, try uninstalling the driver for the touchpad Control Panel, then reinstall it via Windows Update.

  • Satellite Pro C660 - keyboard problems

This issue is one for computer laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1UX running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

Some of the keys on Board (E, T, U, I, O, A, B, N, and the Enter key) fail to register.
All keys tested so far seem to register normally.

When you connect an external USB keyboard, all the keys work properly. When you use the integrated keyboard or external USB keyboard, however, pressed some key is selected for about 2-3 seconds so that his character register. This makes typing incredibly slow and is naturally unacceptable.

I checked the Manager of devices looking for errors, but can't find one. The keyboard driver is classified properly installed and functional, and driver update indicates that the latest version is in already in service.

I've also scanned for viruses using Spybot and Malware bytes and also with laptops own antivirus software pre-installed. All the analyses of the entire system refer a none found the message of threat.

I read that the keyboards on these machines can sometimes be problematic, which could respond only to edge, some function keys. The fact that all the external USB keyboard keys work seems to confirm this. However, the fact that the keyboard both onboard and external is affected by the same slow pressure might also suggest a bios problem - but that this laptop computer is several years old and working perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

I visited the Toshiba site and based on this laptop with the part number: PSC0ME-02100SEN, I have concluded (rightly or wrongly) that the correct bios download version is 1, 70 - WIN, only when I read the following installation instructions http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm bios
I became quite concerned, like installing the bios update seems far from simple.

Does anyone know if it is possible to download and install the bios right through an update automated versus manual download and installation step by step, which, if not carried out as planned, could make the laptop completely unusable.

Has anyone reading this post experienced similar problems with this make and model laptop and was able to return successfully to the good operating condition. If so, how?

All constructive advice would be welcome.

    > When you connect an external USB keyboard, all keys work correctly.

This means that the keyboard controller is OK and the internal keyboard is defective.
To resolve this problem of keyboard, internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

    > However, the fact that the keyboard on board as external is affected by the same keypress slow could also suggest a bios problem - but this laptop computer is several years old and works perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

    Hmm I n t think so
The keyboard delay can be bound to parameters.
You can check this in the control panel-> keyboard

  • Satellite Pro L20 keyboard problems not fixed by the update of the BIOS

    Hello

When I type in MS Word or another application, certain characters are not displayed. This problem is known.
I followed the recommendation of the TOSHIBA BIOS V1.30 for PSL25E update. Unfortunatey, it does not help.

    Hi Olbur

I didn't find any official document on this subject, as you say, known issue. Can you please send a link?

I have the Satellite L20 and there is not much difference for Satellite Pro L20 and I have no such problems, but I'm interesting about this. The L20 keyboard is not the best one, but all the characters are not displayed correctly. Maybe you type fast. ;)

  • Satellite 5105-S501 keyboard problem

After that I replaced my 40 GB hard drive with a 100 GB hard drive (the old frozen drive), I had a lot of problems with my keyboard.
When I type, I find that the letters 'i' with tab back until a strange moment, the letter 'u' can tab forward, other letters will do other strange things.

I tried to clean under the keys, but that has not worked. It is very frustrating. (While typing this, the cursor is passed to a word in the first sentence, jumped 3 characters to the left, but also jump at the beginning of the line, really weird).

All ideas will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Have you installed the Toshiba Recovery CD?
This problem appears before replacing the HARD drive?
Maybe the new HARD drive with the large size has a bad influence on the keyboard.
I read some messages in the forum, and it seems that sometimes, a new update of the BIOS might resolve these issues.
Please make sure you use the good BIOS and the correct procedure to upgrade the BIOS.

The other possibility is that you did something wrong when replacing the HARD drive.
