Re: Satellite C660: Sound through the speakers when the headset is connected.

I have a brand new 258 C660, running on Windows 7.
Playback device: Realtek High Definition Audio

* Whenever I have headphones or external speakers connected via the 3.5 mm jack plug, sound still comes through the built-in distant.*

Here's what's happened so far:

When I plugged the external speakers were first, I was asked to choose if I had plugged a headphone or speakers. I selected "speakers" and then also, perhaps foolishly, choose "do not ask me again".
Now, I can't to this selection again.

Here's what I've tried so far:
-Reboot
-Try different headphones, try them on other devices
-System Restore (not, for some reason any)
-all settings via the sound control panel

Basically, I think that I am looking for a way to disable the internal ATAPI Jack when the external Jack 3.5 mm is used.

I am aware, there was a similar thread some time ago, but the problem may be slightly different and perhaps due to the fact that I chose "do not ask me again". At least, I hope this isn't a hardware problem...
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=241409𺼁

Thanks in advance for any advice

Don t think there s hardware issue.

Try this:
Connect the headphones.
Go to the control panel-> Sound-> playback tab
Here, you should see the speakers and headphones.
Now choose the headphones and set this default value.

This help you?

If you get no audio cd, youtube or anything else, you must first check in the volume control that you are using the sound card, you are connected, that nothing is on mute and volume is sufficient, or install the drivers for your sound card.

    Hello

Mute key functionality is provided by IDT Audio software, so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I would try downloading and installing the following driver IDT.

  • Do not hear sound on the speakers of the laptop when the headset is connected

Hello, I have laptop Alienware14 with windows 7. I hear the sound very well on the speakers of the laptop, but when I plug my headphones, I can't get sound in the headphones and not on the speakers of the laptop. For example, I want to be able to use the headset to talk to people (like Skype) while listening to music in the speakers of the laptop in the game I play. My old laptop Inspiron does that very well, but it won't. Any suggestions on this... a framework that I did put right or something?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Laptops that have its IDT have a framework for "Helmet of Communications". Which allows communication as Skype through the helmet, while the regular audio continues through the speakers.

However the 14 Alienware has audio Realtek who doesn't have this feature, I think.

  • I have iTunes for Windows 10.  iTunes will not play the music through my internal speakers when they are defined by default.  iTunes will play through the headset.  My speakers will play with other applications.  Why is this?

I have iTunes on Windows 10.  iTunes does not recognize my internal speakers when other applications will recognize them.  I can use the helmet without a problem.  Why is this?

If you go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/reading and select 'Audio Direct' for 'use of Audio play '.  Then log off iTunes and back log and you should be able to hear through your headphones.  Good luck!

  • No sound through the speakers

I have a HP Pavillion DV6 earlier and today a window Insyde Flash skipped upward, I didn't know what it was and did not trust in it so I closed it, seconds later a CMD window opened and closed then the sound on the video, I watched her leave stutering and stopped while I went on another video and it's the same thing and there was no sound on spotify so I rebooted. When I turned my laptop it was normal, I'm so back spotify and noticed a message at the top that says: 'there is a problem with your sound card. Spotify is unable to play music. "and still no other windows will produce sounds, I realized then that I can get sound on things like youtube or games through my headphones, except spotify plays no music and always produces the same message, I'm doing an analysis of the system and updated 11 things waiting for me , which none seems to have been of Insyde. I'm really stuck with it and hoping that someone here will help me.

    Hello:

    Please, try the following...

First do a hard reset of the laptop and if the audio does not return thereafter, then try reinstalling the audio driver.

Hard reset instructions on the link below.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&TaskID=110&prodSeriesId=...

If you are still without audio, go into the BIOS and set the defaults, save and exit.

  • Windows 7 - sound through the internal speakers but not headphones...

I've upgraded to Windows 7 and got the latest Realtek HD Audio driver, and the internal speakers work fine. Nothing is coming through the headphones well. In the Audio Device Manager, it lists the headphones as "Realtek Digital Output" and seems to work, but there is no sound. Before I could just plug my headphones and it would turn off the speakers and only use the headphones. Help! Any ideas?

    Hello jrh388,

To better help, what is the brand and model of your PC?

You can check if the headphones are activated as a playback device. To do this, see the following steps:

    ·  The Pearl-click Start and type Sound in the start search box.

    ·  Select card change settings in the Start Menu Options.

    ·  Then, on the Read tab, right-click and select Show hidden devices and Show disconnected devices if they are available.

    · Select headset and select

  • No sound through the TV speakers after connecting the dv7 - 1247 cl via hdmi

I have connected my laptop to my harman kardon receiver via hdmi, which is connected to my HDTV.  The video shows big... looks great. But no sound is coming through the TV speakers.  I went to the audio options and an hdmi output chosen, but still no sound. Any ideas?

    Ty

    Hello

Take the receiver the most out of the image and connect the laptop directly to the TV. Does your sound work now?  What SW you use for audio/video playback? MediaSmart? Try this also - disconnect the cable - release MediaSmart - plug the cable and then try again.

Press Fn + F4 to switch to HDMI only. This action refreshes the screen, transfers to the screen from the laptop to the external display and audio now comes from the HDTV sound system.
  • Play sound even when the headset is connected speakers

I have a windows 8, R HP notebook PC series. I can hear the sound form both the speakers and headphones. Under the playback devices, it has Digital Audio HDMI (audio high definition device not connected) in which there is a small red arrow and the other is the speakers (device realtek high definition audio by default) in which there is a small green check mark. All disabled people and devices that are visible. Under record there are micro (device realtek high definition audio by default) with a small tick under it and then there's stereo mix (compatible audio Realtek High definition) in which there is no sign. Identical to the former, all enabled and disabled devices are visible. Both playback and recording, the two above devices are activated.  No other solution to this problem that I have read on this forum works with me because I do not have these options or simply his does not work. • No sound coming through the headset - inspiron 3537

    Hi guys,.

I have a computer dell laptop inspiron 3537. When I plug my headphones into the Jack, I get no sound in the headphones and the sound continues to play through the speakers.

    How to solve this problem?

    concerning

Hello. Go to the Inspiron 15 3537 support page. Select your operating system from the drop-down list. Expand the audio category. Download & install a new copy of the Realtek audio driver.

Who will correct any configuration problem. Test Socket. If no change then switch the native Windows audio driver.

    1. open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the box of Windows search).
    2. develop the 'audio controllers, video & game' and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".
3 Select this option to "Update driver software".
    4. click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
    5. click on "Let Me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
    6. put the "Show compatible hardware" check box if not already checked.
    7. in the list of devices, click on 'High Definition Audio"(native driver).
    8. click on "next".
    9. in the update driver warning box, click 'Yes' (the driver).
10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 1-6.]

If no change even with native audio driver and you have tried different headphones, then probably a hardware failure. Contact technical support

for repairs if still under warranty.

  • Qosmio X 70-A-12 X - no sound through the HDMI connection

    Qosmio X 70-A-12 X - Windows 7

I have tried everything regarding this issue, lost 12 hours of research and asking everyone... I hope that you will give me the answer. I tried to install the drivers for different processor, Intel based, each time nothing, I have a controller, video, audio and Conexant smartaudio HD game.

I also tried letting windows install their own driver. Windows Media Monitor... I have this case HDMI is shown but gray color, as there is nothing plugged. When I click Properties it says that everything is ok and active... so thank you for reading this. If you know another way to activate the sound via HDMI, I would be very grateful.

PS - I picture on HDMI, but no sound.

    Thank you!!! :)

    Hello

I checked the Toshiba download page and I can see your Qosmio machine is supported for Win7 64 bit and I think that you are using this version.
I see ago offered all the important factors like driver chipset driver driver sound or display, so I hope everything works out well and there is no reason for experiences drivers.

I would like to know if there is a problem when you use your machine without connect anything to it? is everything is OK with the material? You hear the sound on the internal speakers or headphones?

To your HDMI issue: can you please explain what you are trying to do exactly?
Are you trying to use your Qosmio with TV or what? When you open the properties of the sound > playback devices have tried to activate the listed device output digital (HDMI) and set its default value?

    By the way:
Click on the volume icon in the taskbar and click mixer.
Digital output is listed here? Check it out in the operative part of the option. Make sure that is not set to mute.

Play a little with all these settings to make sure that everything is OK.
