Re: Satellite L650 - impossible to activate wireless LAN

I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite L650. I installed all the readers (video, sound, lan, WLAN...) but I can't turn on the wireless network. Practically, Fn + F8 does nothing.

What can I do to activate it? Is there another way?

Hi longip,.

Wireless network adapter is listed correctly in the Device Manager? It may not be installed or with yellow exclamation marks so the driver must be reinstalled.

For the FN key combinations, Toshiba Value added Package must be installed and Flash cards Support utility.
You have installed these tools?

The laptop doesn't have a WIFI hardware switch, but you can use the combination of keys FN + F8 to disable/enable the feature WLAN.

  • Satellite Pro M40X-132: scalable wireless Lan?

    Hello

I have a PC laptop Toshiba M40X-132. It doesn't have a wireless installed inside the adapter. It cable antenna for this card.

I opened my computer and noticed that there are no slot mini pci installed. However, I found the place on the motherboard that is generally used to install such a slot with a certain set of 15-20 minutes with a weld. :) I know I'm losing my warranty by doing this, but I think it would be better to take the risk that, in order to exploit external PCMCIA or USB devices all the time.

So, I have a slot mini pci I bought in a store for electronic components. The place for the installation of such a location are tinned on the motherboard. I think cleaning of Tin from there and then set the slot I.

The big question is the following: suppose that I managed to solder correctly such a slot on the motherboard. It will work or not? I mean, the slot is just the thing that does not exist, or there is some other components and electronic parts which are now absent and doing this slot work?

Thank you for your advice. I'm really confused.

    Good day! :)

    Hello Stefan

I really put t understand you not at all. First I put t really believe someone make these experiences and you will be very happy if someone has this kind of experience.

And if it works, how you want to install the WiFi antenna? You want to dismantle the entire screen to do this and to do it properly? Believe me that it is a bad idea.

The USB wireless costs about 25 euros and in 10 minutes, you can configure and use the WLAN.

Please think about this one more time.

    Good luck!

I already have the latest drivers, but it's not helping...

    Thanks in advance

Have you tried a BIOS update?
This you will find also on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

You have disabled all the security features for testing?
I mean hidden SSID, MAC address filtering and so far. Maybe that's the problem.

Check also if the router has the new firmware. You can find it on the site of the factory

  • Satellite L350 - impossible to activate the WLan

    Hi all

When I turn on my laptop, more often in other wireless LAN is not lit.
I had to reboot this morning 11 times to make it work.

Also when it is turned on every now and again he will lose the connection, if I'm going to reconnect to my router, that it is not on my list.
So after refresh of all wireless devices in the area to disappear out of the list and I have to restart the laptop all over again.

Can anyone help please that it becomes very annoying.

    > When I turn on my laptop more often than in other wireless LAN does not illuminate.
    > I had to restart it 11 times this morning to work.

The FN + F8 combination works properly?
It turns on and the WiFi network.

In addition, I think that there is something wrong with the Wlan driver.
This means that you must remove the old driver from the system and need to install the new version you can download from here:

    Hello

Can anyone help, I just replaced the hard drive and I have no backup disc for windows 7.
This laptop came with Vista installed and an automatic upgrade to windows 7.

I downloaded all the drivers for this model and I can not get the wireless or Bluetooth to work as they say of
to activate the switch. I searched the sides out of the PC and there is NO switch then, how can we get it to work.

This is the only problem that I have.
PS The Lan cable works OK.

    Thanks in advance.

    Satellite L550 (PSLN8A-00Y008)

On many models of Toshiba WLAN switch is no longer available and WIFI/BT will be enabled/disabled with function keys (FN keys). To work, you must install added Toshiba Value Package and Toshiba Flash Cards Support utility.

You have two of them? Check please if Toshiba flash cards are listed in the startup (run > msconfig > startup).
By the way: you can use the keys FN + Fx?

  • Impossible to activate wireless on Satellite L450D - 11H

Got a new Satellite L450D - 11H. Windows 7 preinstalled. Can not turn on wifi, Fn + F8 does not allow it. Any suggestions?

    Hello

You can not activate because the FN buttons do not work with Win 7 until the pilot and the tool is not installed.

I didn t find Win 7 driver currently on the European driver Toshiba page, but you can choose the drivers released for other Toshiba Satellite series.
Try to install the VAP released for i.e A350, P300 series or other package.

A friend of mine installed Win 7 on A500. Win 7 drivers are not available for this series, but he used the drivers for the A350 and most of the features and ok!

    Hello

Sorry, but the whole story is very confusing and I have to ask for things to understand this

    > why I inadvertently allowed Toshiba Bluetooth to download a driver.
I think you have mixed up something software Toshiba Bluetooth up to not download nor install any other drivers or updates automatically. So what program exactly tell you?

    > I get now constant warnings that it will conflict with my original CD!
You can post a screenshot of this warning? I've never heard anything like that.

    > I have not saved the driver.
What you mean with the registry. Either the driver is installed or not.

    > How to 'stop' it or uninstall it?
You can uninstall what you want. Just navigate to control panel > uninstall a program and select the program you want to uninstall.

  • Satellite P755-S5393 - cannot activate wireless using Fn + F8 keys

I have Toshiba P755-S5393 (PSAY1U-05W027) itfacing WIFI problem is not activate using the Fn + F8 keys.
Initially I was facing problem with auto power-off, I diagnose and disconnection of the electric connection of the media Panel since then my wifi is not activate even using the Fn + F8 key combination.

    Solutions and suggestions are welcome!

    Aamir Malik

    Hi Aamir Malik

Satellite P755-S5393 has been preloaded with Win 7.

If you still use this system, you should first check if the other next to the combination FN + F8 function keys work correctly.
If the keys n t work, you must install additional Toshiba as software
TOSHIBA Value Added Package and Toshiba Flash cards support utility

Drivers & updates for this model is located on the Toshiba USA support page:
    http://support.Toshiba.com/support/modelHome?FREETEXT=3167433

Where only the combination FN + F8 does not work, I recommend reinstalling the WLan driver.

  • Satellite P10 792: Intel 2100 wireless LAN

    Hello!
I tried to install the wireless mini-PCI INTEL BG card 2100. The drivers work OK, but they say "Radio off". Nothing changes when I press [FN] + [F7]. The card is OK (tested in some portable Arima-made).
How can I use the card?

    Hello

First switch to the WiFi network, to use the FN + F8 and not FN + F7 key combination.
In addition, you will find the antenna switch WLan on the left side of the laptop.
This switch must be turned on if you want to use the Wlan.

  • Satellite L650: Impossible to record with Audacity or free sound recording software

I have a L650 and I can't save anything with Audacity or free recorder it only shows the Conexant microphone and line (WsAudio_DeviceS (1,2,3,4 and 5))

If I record only from the Microphone Conexant CX20671 Sm

I went into Control Panel and tried to update the drivers etc I am running Win 7 32 bit

    Hello

Hmm, I think that's not possible because of the audio chip Conexant.
As far as I know it supports stereo-in.
I have a u400 with Conexant audio chip too and I can't record music using tool no. 23.
But my other laptop A210 is favorable because it s equipped with the Realtek sound card.

By the way; to be 100% sure that this is not available, you can check the Panel of-> sound-> the Read tab. Here, you must right click and should mark the option; view hidden devices, see the disabled devices.
