Re: Satellite P200-PsPB3C-BB808C cannot locate * multimedia controller *.

I just upgraded laptop Toshiba on Win 7 neighbors following a bad fall of Vista.
It's a Satellite P200-BB808C.
When I started there are two missing drivers, mass storage controller, and a multimedia controller. I did a clean install, starting with formatting the drive.
Windows 7 loaded a - OK and all Toshiba drivers have been installed in a recommended sequence. I was able to locate the driver for the storage controller mass but still couldn't find anything for the multimedia controller.
I've been alternating between the site of Canada and the United States with no luck.
I have also spent a lot of time googling variations of the same question, trying to find some information on this driver. It seems that a lot of people have the same problem.
So far, the system works fine without glitches or hang-ups.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello

To be honest, I don't know about driver multimedia controller you need.
can post you the code of the provider and I can find the driver? To find:

1. go into Device Manager, click on multimedia controller and then go into property and then go into the details. You will see a code like for example PCI/VEN_8086 & DEV_27D8 & SUBSYS...

    Hello

According to the seller he s ID a Broadcom device.
You can identify it on this Web site: http://www.pcidatabase.com

On the Toshiba site I can find a driver for Broadcom and it s called Driver from Broadcom Decoder but the problem is I can only find this driver for Vista. :(
I think you need to look on the Broadcom website to find a driver for XP or another model of laptop that has the same Broadcom device. So you can maybe find an XP driver.

Furthermore, normally, you can download all drivers here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c: cannot install some tools Toshiba Vista

Where should I start, planned to upgrade, any new machine to Vista Business I need to connect to the domain - Vista home prem (OEM) is not good.

Checked with tech support who advised me to download the drivers from the site I've done (why are they not supplied with the machine?)

System improved, tried to install the ATI driver it fails! (Note that this driver has been removed from the site.) Password utility fails (bad denunciation series only), sd utility fails (bad series of reporting don't). Value-added packages fails to install all components, specifically (TOSHIBA components common and pilot TOSHIBA Flash cards).

Tried the technical support, who advised to upgrade the bios, but that also failed.

    * So now have amachine which can not read flash, no function cards keys don't work, and the tool diagnostic Toshiba does not recherche.*

Apparently this was now refitted, but have to say, it very disappointing that there are not instructions on this process, I assume that there will be many users who want to upgrade the same way, because I'm doing.

Advice or assistance in the meatime would be highly appreciated!

    Hello

    > it is very disappointing that there are not instructions on this process
First of all, I wonder why you said something like that?  :|
I think you are not beginner and should be able to install drivers simply. Or I m wrong?
You have already visited the Toshiba driver European page then you've noticed that there are different series P200.
I hope that you have downloaded the correct drivers for the series on the right. The P200 - 17 c belongs to the PSPB6E. Check this box!

Also, I found a txt file of installation instruction on the driver page. Seems you didn t see!
You must follow the order of installation mentioned in this txt file!

    Good luck

  • Cannot format second HARD on a Satellite P200-13 s PSPBGE drive

    Nice day

I have a s system of Satellite P200-13 friends in front of me who was reinstalled using the recovery CD.
It took me some time to update the operating system (Vista Home Premium SP1) after that and so on.
I've also renewed the BIOS. The system seems stable, everything is on a green status but I have a problem.

This system has got 2 hard drives, C:\ on which runs the operating system and programs are installed and there is therefore a 2nd HARD drive D:\.
Now, if I look in the hardware Manager or disk management tool, I can see this disc and it says that it is functional and ready but the disc needs to be formatted before using it, which seems logical, of course.

When I try to format the formatting begins, but after a few seconds, I get a message that there have been a failure and it cannot be formatted. The State of the disk is still no failures.

What is a defect in the disc itself? He was untouched and has worked before.
Thanks for any help or idea.
    Dany

    Hello

How have you tried to format this HARD drive?
You can describe it in the steps of the view?

The HARD drives are usually already formatted and you don't need to format it again...
Check if you can access the second HDD and save files on it!

The swicht wireles on the front of the laptop is turned ON, but not the function Fn + F8 appearing at all.

What you mean with this WLAN is in the BIOS not enabled? Normally, you can change all BIOS options then try to activate it.
Also make sure that the WLAN switch is on and active with FN + F8.

  • Satellite P200 - cannot install XP due to lack of HARD drive

    Hello...

I have the Toshiba Satellite P200, with Windows Vista home edition.
    I want to remove and install win XP but I have the problem;
I can t install windows xp. I have this message: Setup doesn't detect any hard disk...

A friend tell me what s due to the update of the Bios, but I can t solve the problem

    Please help me

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all you shouldn't t believe everything say this as some computer beginners.
It s NOT a BIOS issue.

Your HARD drive is not visible during the installation of Win XP because the SATA driver was not included!
The laptop supports the SATA controller and a SATA driver must be included in Win XP to recognize the HARD drive!

But I don t want to write the whole story again that this issue has been addressed 1000 times here in the forum. I recommend this forum a little bit and search for similar topics regarding the installation of Win XP.

A hint; Intel Storage Manager contains the SATA driver ;)

    Hello

This Satellite P200-1FY belongs to the series of PSPB6E and was delivered with the graphics card from ATI Mobility Radeon X 2600 (name of code M76).

    Please use this page to European Toshiba driver download driver;

There are different series of P200. As already mentioned this notebook belongs to the series of PSPB6E and why you must choose that number of the upload form.

It seems that the ATI v8.432 display driver has changed the 14.01.2008

  • Satellite P200 - 14 H - problem with the software after reinstalling Vista whindows

I have a Satellite P200 - 14 H, who bought systems Activ of Romania. I got a Toshiba DVD with an image pre-configured Windows and my driver's license windows vista Home premium. After several blue screens windows crashed after 5 days. It was a software problem. I am a network administrator and I need several virtual machines Linux vmware server Windows.

The DVD provided with the laptop is not really suited to my needs to reinstall windows because it throws my entire hard drive and is not an option. I took a friend a DVD windows vista Home premium and using my key from the sticker on the back of my laptop I reinstalled win without deleting all of the hard drive but only the partition c. I downloaded all the drivers of your site even if I found them really hard (model PSPB6E because that model PSPB6E I don't find it anywhere) everything is good except that "Flash Cards Support Utility" and «» Hardware Setup' give me the following error: "serial number is invalid '. I don't know what to do to be able to use the function keys I knew which are installed by 'Flash Cards Support utility'.

If it is not good that I did give me another solution that does not need to wipe entire HARD drive, but only the C drive and use the DVD that you have provided or give me access to some place to be able to download all the drivers and software that can be found on the original DVD (those above and to burn DVD and Norton internet security center and so on)

Thank you very much and please be so kind to give me a solution quickly because I really need this computer and I am unable to use it.

    Hi Adrian

    I'll try to clarify a few things;
First the drivers for Satellite P200 - 14 H PSPB6E series are placed on the page of Toshiba Europe and it of really not difficult to find.
Secondly the Vista serial key, which is located on the bottom of the unit cannot be used with another copy of Vista OS! This will not work!

You have installed the operating system Vista from the CD to friends, but you used a serial key that does not match with the Vista on CD to friends! As a result, you get the message error "serial number is invalid!"
The utility of Flash cards is required to use the keys FN under Win Vista. It visually shows the use of the FN button.

I would recommend another way of installation
First, you must use the DCD from Toshiba recovery. Back up your data first!
Then after installing the OS, create a new partition and install your favorite OS (Linux, XP, etc.)

If you n t to use the Toshiba recovery but CD the original Microsoft CD Vista then you need to use the original series OS key that belongs to the MS Vista CD.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200-1EE - Vista stuck on the homepage

    Hello

    * My Satellite P200-1EE is stuck on the progress bar Windows Vista since yesterday morning * and I'm unable to contact my office.

I tried several solutions using the F8 key at startup.

    1 / safe mode

2 / startup repair. "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically.

3 / the system restore. "No restore point.

4 / windows complete PC Restore. "No restore point.

5 / Windows memory diagnostic tool. It is said that there is no problem of memory.

So I am only left with the options of 'Restore the full Windows operating system' and the 'command prompt '.

But I'm not too sure of the latter option. That's where I need your advice.

    * If I go for complete Windows restore, the entire hard drive fade or just the partition where I have windows (for example, "C:")? * I have several years of family photos on another partition (D or E) that I would not lose enough.

Obviously, * I do not lose data or software on C:, but not personal stuff D or E.*
Could you advise me on the best option?

    Thank you

    Paul

    > If I go for complete Windows restore, the entire hard drive fade or just the partition where I have windows (for example, "C:")? I have several years of family photos on another partition (D or E) that I would not lose enough.

Depends on the disc that you would use if you want to use the Toshiba recovery disc, then the whole HARD disk would be formatted, including all partitions on the HARD drive.
If you want to use the disk in Microsoft Windows Vista, you can choose which partition has been formatted and where the Vista must be installed.

    > Clearly, I do not lose data or software on C:, but not personal stuff on D or E.
    > Could you advise me on the best option?

If you n t want to lose the data stored on the D partition and if you don t have a disc of Microsoft Vista, install the OS of Visa then I would recommend, remove the laptop HARD drive. Then plug the 2.5 SATA HDD with a USB-SATA controller then this HARD drive to another computer.
Usually, you should be able to access the D partition and would be able to move all the data to another computer.

I am not able to detect the drive by the bios (bios updated with 2.7 "bios - 20110124131826.zip"), in order, starting with partition FAT32)

    tests I've already done :*
    (1) connect this drive (WD20EARS) on a PC: HP 6530--> result b: drive is detected by the bios, it is impossible to boot the disk
and the operating system is started correctly

    (2) plug in sametime a usb2 startup key and the disc--> result: WD20EARS disc is displayed on the selection of the bios (sometimes)

Could you help me find the problem (bios, disk or box usb3) or have you updated to solve

    Kind regards

    Stand by.
BIOS cannot detect the external HARD drive? You want to start OS saved on the external HARD drive? Is this correct?

Tests 1 and 2 are related to this HP laptop?
